प्रिउ सहज सुभाई छोडि न जाई मनि लागा रंगु मजीठा ॥
My Beloved shall not leave me to go anywhere - this is His natural way; my mind is imbued with the lasting color of the Lord's Love.

जिउ राती जलि माछुली तिउ राम रसि माते राम राजे ॥
Just like the fish which revels in water, I am intoxicated with the sublime essence of the Lord, my Lord King.

गुर पूरै उपदेसिआ जीवन गति भाते राम राजे ॥

हरि रतन पदारथो परगटो पूरनो छोडि न कतहू जाए ॥
The Lord is the treasure of jewels, the perfect manifestation; He shall not forsake us to go anywhere else.

प्रभु सुघरु सरूपु सुजानु सुआमी ता की मिटै न दाते ॥
God, the Lord Master, is so accomplished, beauteous, and all-knowing; His gifts are never exhausted.

चात्रिकु जाचै बूंद जिउ हरि प्रान अधारा राम राजे ॥
As the song-bird yearns for the rain-drop, the Lord, the Lord my King, is the Support of my breath of life.
ਮਾਲੁ ਖਜੀਨਾ ਸੁਤ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਮੀਤ ਸਭਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ॥
Maal Khajeenaa Suth Bhraath Meeth Sabhehoon Thae Piaaraa Raam Raajae ||
मालु खजीना सुत भ्रात मीत सभहूं ते पिआरा राम राजे ॥
My Lord King is more beloved than all wealth, treasure, children, siblings and friends.
ਸਭਹੂੰ ਤੇ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥

सभहूं ते पिआरा पुरखु निरारा ता की गति नही जाणीऐ ॥
The absolute Lord, the Primal Being, is more beloved than all; His condition cannot be known.
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੀਐ ॥
Har Saas Giraas N Bisarai Kabehoon Gur Sabadhee Rang Maaneeai ||
हरि सासि गिरासि न बिसरै कबहूं गुर सबदी रंगु माणीऐ ॥
I shall never forget the Lord, for an instant, for a single breath; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, I enjoy His Love.

प्रभु पुरखु जगजीवनो संत रसु पीवनो जपि भरम मोह दुख डारा ॥
The Primal Lord God is the Life of the Universe; His Saints drink in the Lord's sublime essence. Meditating on Him, doubts, attachments and pains are shaken off.
ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਬੂੰਦ ਜਿਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥੩॥

ढाठी भीति भरम की भेटत गुरु सूरा राम राजे ॥
The walls of doubt have been torn down, meeting the Brave Guru, O Lord King.
ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਏ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਲਿਖਾਏ ਸਭ ਨਿਧਿ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
Pooran Gur Paaeae Purab Likhaaeae Sabh Nidhh Dheen Dhaeiaalaa ||
पूरन गुर पाए पुरबि लिखाए सभ निधि दीन दइआला ॥
The Perfect Guru is obtained by perfect pre-ordained destiny; God is the Giver of all treasures - He is merciful to the meek.

Jal Dhudhh Niaaee Reeth Ab Dhudhh Aach Nehee Man Aisee Preeth Harae ||
जल दुध निआई रीति अब दुध आच नही मन ऐसी प्रीति हरे ॥
Just like water, which loves milk so much that it will not let it burn - O my mind, so love the Lord.
ਅਬ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਅਲਿ ਕਮਲੇਹ ਬਾਸਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਮਗਨ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਭੀ ਨਾਹਿ ਟਰੈ ॥
Ab Ourajhiou Al Kamalaeh Baasan Maahi Magan Eik Khin Bhee Naahi Ttarai ||
अब उरझिओ अलि कमलेह बासन माहि मगन इकु खिनु भी नाहि टरै ॥
The bumble bee becomes enticed by the lotus, intoxicated by its fragrance, and does not leave it, even for a moment.
ਖਿਨੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਟਰੀਐ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹਰੀਐ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਹਭਿ ਰਸ ਅਰਪੀਐ ॥
Khin Naahi Ttareeai Preeth Hareeai Seegaar Habh Ras Arapeeai ||
खिनु नाहि टरीऐ प्रीति हरीऐ सीगार हभि रस अरपीऐ ॥
Do not let up your love for the Lord, even for an instant; dedicate all your decorations and pleasures to Him.
ਜਹ ਦੂਖੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਭਣੀਐ ਤਹ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਡਰਪੀਐ ॥
Jeh Dhookh Suneeai Jam Panthh Bhaneeai Theh Saadhhasang N Ddarapeeai ||
जह दूखु सुणीऐ जम पंथु भणीऐ तह साधसंगि न डरपीऐ ॥
Where painful cries are heard, and the Way of Death is shown, there, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall not be afraid.
ਕਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣੀਐ ਸਗਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਛਤ ਦੁਖ ਹਰੇ ॥
Kar Keerath Govindh Guneeai Sagal Praashhath Dhukh Harae ||
करि कीरति गोविंद गुणीऐ सगल प्राछत दुख हरे ॥
Sing the Kirtan, the Praises of the Lord of the Universe, and all sins and sorrows shall depart.

कहु नानक छंत गोविंद हरि के मन हरि सिउ नेहु करेहु ऐसी मन प्रीति हरे ॥१॥
Says Nanak, chant the Hymns of the Lord, the Lord of the Universe, O mind, and enshrine love for the Lord; love the Lord this way in your mind. ||1||
ਜੈਸੀ ਮਛੁਲੀ ਨੀਰ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਭੀ ਨਾ ਧੀਰੇ ਮਨ ਐਸਾ ਨੇਹੁ ਕਰੇਹੁ ॥

जैसी मछुली नीर इकु खिनु भी ना धीरे मन ऐसा नेहु करेहु ॥
