Aasaa:
ਗਜ ਸਾਢੇ ਤੈ ਤੈ ਧੋਤੀਆ ਤਿਹਰੇ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਤਗ ॥
Gaj Saadtae Thai Thai Dhhotheeaa Thiharae Paaein Thag ||
गज साढे तै तै धोतीआ तिहरे पाइनि तग ॥
They wear loin cloths, three and a half yards long, and triple-wound sacred threads.
ਗਲੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਜਪਮਾਲੀਆ ਲੋਟੇ ਹਥਿ ਨਿਬਗ ॥
Galee Jinhaa Japamaaleeaa Lottae Hathh Nibag ||
गली जिन्हा जपमालीआ लोटे हथि निबग ॥
They have rosaries around their necks, and they carry glittering jugs in their hands.
ਓਇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਕੇ ਠਗ ॥੧॥
Oue Har Kae Santh N Aakheeahi Baanaaras Kae Thag ||1||
ओइ हरि के संत न आखीअहि बानारसि के ठग ॥१॥
They are not called Saints of the Lord - they are thugs of Benares. ||1||
ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਾਵਹਿ ॥
Aisae Santh N Mo Ko Bhaavehi ||
ऐसे संत न मो कउ भावहि ॥
Such 'saints' are not pleasing to me;
ਡਾਲਾ ਸਿਉ ਪੇਡਾ ਗਟਕਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ddaalaa Sio Paeddaa Gattakaavehi ||1|| Rehaao ||
डाला सिउ पेडा गटकावहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
They eat the trees along with the branches. ||1||Pause||
ਬਾਸਨ ਮਾਂਜਿ ਚਰਾਵਹਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਾਠੀ ਧੋਇ ਜਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
Baasan Maanj Charaavehi Oopar Kaathee Dhhoe Jalaavehi ||
बासन मांजि चरावहि ऊपरि काठी धोइ जलावहि ॥
They wash their pots and pans before putting them on the stove, and they wash the wood before lighting it.
ਬਸੁਧਾ ਖੋਦਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੁਇ ਚੂਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਖਾਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
Basudhhaa Khodh Karehi Dhue Choolaeh Saarae Maanas Khaavehi ||2||
बसुधा खोदि करहि दुइ चूल्हे सारे माणस खावहि ॥२॥
They dig up the earth and make two fireplaces, but they eat the whole person! ||2||
ਓਇ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਅਪਰਸ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ॥
Oue Paapee Sadhaa Firehi Aparaadhhee Mukhahu Aparas Kehaavehi ||
ओइ पापी सदा फिरहि अपराधी मुखहु अपरस कहावहि ॥
Those sinners continually wander in evil deeds, while they call themselves touch-nothing saints.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਸਗਲ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਡੁਬਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Firehi Abhimaanee Sagal Kuttanb Ddubaavehi ||3||
सदा सदा फिरहि अभिमानी सगल कुट्मब डुबावहि ॥३॥
They wander around forever and ever in their self-conceit, and all their families are drowned. ||3||
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੈਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
Jith Ko Laaeiaa Thith Hee Laagaa Thaisae Karam Kamaavai ||
जितु को लाइआ तित ही लागा तैसे करम कमावै ॥
He is attached to that, to which the Lord has attached him, and he acts accordingly.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥੨॥
Kahu Kabeer Jis Sathigur Bhaettai Punarap Janam N Aavai ||4||2||
कहु कबीर जिसु सतिगुरु भेटै पुनरपि जनमि न आवै ॥४॥२॥
Says Kabeer, one who meets the True Guru, is not reincarnated again. ||4||2||

ਬਾਪਿ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਮੇਰੋ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥
Baap Dhilaasaa Maero Keenhaa ||
बापि दिलासा मेरो कीन्हा ॥
My Father has comforted me. He has given me a cozy bed,
ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ॥
Saej Sukhaalee Mukh Anmrith Dheenhaa ||
सेज सुखाली मुखि अम्रितु दीन्हा ॥
And placed His Ambrosial Nectar in my mouth.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਪ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
This Baap Ko Kio Manahu Visaaree ||
तिसु बाप कउ किउ मनहु विसारी ॥
How could I forget that Father from my mind?
ਆਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਨ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
Aagai Gaeiaa N Baajee Haaree ||1||
आगै गइआ न बाजी हारी ॥१॥
When I go to the world hereafter, I shall not lose the game. ||1||
ਮੁਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ਹਉ ਖਰਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥
Muee Maeree Maaee Ho Kharaa Sukhaalaa ||
मुई मेरी माई हउ खरा सुखाला ॥
Maya is dead, O mother, and I am very happy.
ਪਹਿਰਉ ਨਹੀ ਦਗਲੀ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Pehiro Nehee Dhagalee Lagai N Paalaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
पहिरउ नही दगली लगै न पाला ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I do not wear the patched coat, nor do I feel the chill. ||1||Pause||
ਬਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਪੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
Bal This Baapai Jin Ho Jaaeiaa ||
बलि तिसु बापै जिनि हउ जाइआ ॥
I am a sacrifice to my Father, who gave me life.
ਪੰਚਾ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
Panchaa Thae Maeraa Sang Chukaaeiaa ||
पंचा ते मेरा संगु चुकाइआ ॥
He put an end to my association with the five deadly sins.
ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਾਵਾ ਤਲਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
Panch Maar Paavaa Thal Dheenae ||
पंच मारि पावा तलि दीने ॥
I have conquered those five demons, and trampled them underfoot.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
Har Simaran Maeraa Man Than Bheenae ||2||
हरि सिमरनि मेरा मनु तनु भीने ॥२॥
Remembering the Lord in meditation, my mind and body are drenched with His Love. ||2||
ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਵਡ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥
Pithaa Hamaaro Vadd Gosaaee ||
पिता हमारो वड गोसाई ॥
My Father is the Great Lord of the Universe.
ਤਿਸੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਹਿ ਹਉ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
This Pithaa Pehi Ho Kio Kar Jaaee ||
तिसु पिता पहि हउ किउ करि जाई ॥
How shall I go to that Father?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਤ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
Sathigur Milae Th Maarag Dhikhaaeiaa ||
सतिगुर मिले त मारगु दिखाइआ ॥
When I met the True Guru, He showed me the Way.
ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Jagath Pithaa Maerai Man Bhaaeiaa ||3||
जगत पिता मेरै मनि भाइआ ॥३॥
The Father of the Universe is pleasing to my mind. ||3||
ਹਉ ਪੂਤੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਪੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
Ho Pooth Thaeraa Thoon Baap Maeraa ||
हउ पूतु तेरा तूं बापु मेरा ॥
I am Your son, and You are my Father.
ਏਕੈ ਠਾਹਰ ਦੁਹਾ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
Eaekai Thaahar Dhuhaa Basaeraa ||
एकै ठाहर दुहा बसेरा ॥
We both dwell in the same place.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨਿ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝਿਆ ॥
Kahu Kabeer Jan Eaeko Boojhiaa ||
कहु कबीर जनि एको बूझिआ ॥
Says Kabeer, the Lord's humble servant knows only the One.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥

गुर प्रसादि मै सभु किछु सूझिआ ॥४॥३॥
By Guru's Grace, I have come to know everything. ||4||3||

ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਉਰਕਟ ਕੁਰਕਟ ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥
Eikath Pathar Bhar Ourakatt Kurakatt Eikath Pathar Bhar Paanee ||
इकतु पतरि भरि उरकट कुरकट इकतु पतरि भरि पानी ॥
In one pot, they put a boiled chicken, and in the other pot, they put wine.
ਆਸਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਪੰਚ ਜੋਗੀਆ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੀਚਿ ਨਕਟ ਦੇ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
Aas Paas Panch Jogeeaa Baithae Beech Nakatt Dhae Raanee ||1||
आसि पासि पंच जोगीआ बैठे बीचि नकट दे रानी ॥१॥
The five Yogis of the Tantric ritual sit there, and in their midst sits the noseless one, the shameless queen. ||1||
ਨਕਟੀ ਕੋ ਠਨਗਨੁ ਬਾਡਾ ਡੂੰ ॥
Nakattee Ko Thanagan Baaddaa Ddoon ||
नकटी को ठनगनु बाडा डूं ॥
The bell of the shameless queen, Maya, rings in both worlds.
ਕਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਤੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kinehi Bibaekee Kaattee Thoon ||1|| Rehaao ||
किनहि बिबेकी काटी तूं ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Some rare person of discriminating wisdom has cut off your nose. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਕਟੀ ਕਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਮਾਰਿ ਅਉਹੇਰੀ ॥
Sagal Maahi Nakattee Kaa Vaasaa Sagal Maar Aouhaeree ||
सगल माहि नकटी का वासा सगल मारि अउहेरी ॥
Within all dwells the noseless Maya, who kills all, and destroys them.
ਸਗਲਿਆ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਬਹਿਨ ਭਾਨਜੀ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਬਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੨॥
Sagaliaa Kee Ho Behin Bhaanajee Jinehi Baree This Chaeree ||2||
सगलिआ की हउ बहिन भानजी जिनहि बरी तिसु चेरी ॥२॥
She says, ""I am the sister, and the daughter of the sister of everyone; I am the hand-maiden of one who marries me.""||2||
ਹਮਰੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਬਡੋ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥
Hamaro Bharathaa Baddo Bibaekee Aapae Santh Kehaavai ||
हमरो भरता बडो बिबेकी आपे संतु कहावै ॥
My Husband is the Great One of discriminating wisdom; He alone is called a Saint.
ਓਹੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਕਾਇਮੁ ਅਉਰੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੩॥
Ouhu Hamaarai Maathhai Kaaeim Aour Hamarai Nikatt N Aavai ||3||
ओहु हमारै माथै काइमु अउरु हमरै निकटि न आवै ॥३॥
He stands by me, and no one else comes near me. ||3||
ਨਾਕਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਨਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੂਟਿ ਕੈ ਡਾਰੀ ॥
Naakahu Kaattee Kaanahu Kaattee Kaatt Koott Kai Ddaaree ||
नाकहु काटी कानहु काटी काटि कूटि कै डारी ॥
I have cut off her nose, and cut off her ears, and cutting her into bits, I have expelled her.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਬੈਰਨਿ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੪॥੪॥
Kahu Kabeer Santhan Kee Bairan Theen Lok Kee Piaaree ||4||4||
कहु कबीर संतन की बैरनि तीनि लोक की पिआरी ॥४॥४॥
Says Kabeer, she is the darling of the three worlds, but the enemy of the Saints. ||4||4||

ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤੀ ਤਪੀ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਬਹੁ ਤੀਰਥ ਭ੍ਰਮਨਾ ॥
Jogee Jathee Thapee Sanniaasee Bahu Theerathh Bhramanaa ||
जोगी जती तपी संनिआसी बहु तीरथ भ्रमना ॥
The Yogis, celibates, penitents and Sannyaasees make pilgrimages to all the sacred places.
ਲੁੰਜਿਤ ਮੁੰਜਿਤ ਮੋਨਿ ਜਟਾਧਰ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
Lunjith Munjith Mon Jattaadhhar Anth Thoo Maranaa ||1||
लुंजित मुंजित मोनि जटाधर अंति तऊ मरना ॥१॥
The Jains with shaven heads, the silent ones, the beggars with matted hair - in the end, they all shall die. ||1||
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੇਵੀਅਲੇ ਰਾਮਨਾ ॥
Thaa Thae Saeveealae Raamanaa ||
ता ते सेवीअले रामना ॥
Meditate, therefore, on the Lord.
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਜਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

रसना राम नाम हितु जा कै कहा करै जमना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
What can the Messenger of Death do to one whose tongue loves the Name of the Lord? ||1||Pause||
ਆਗਮ ਨਿਰਗਮ ਜੋਤਿਕ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਆਕਰਨਾ ॥
Aagam Niragam Jothik Jaanehi Bahu Bahu Biaakaranaa ||
आगम निरगम जोतिक जानहि बहु बहु बिआकरना ॥
Those who know the Shaastras and the Vedas, astrology and the rules of grammar of many languages;
