Koee Jaanai Kavan Eehaa Jag Meeth ||
कोई जानै कवनु ईहा जगि मीतु ॥
Does anyone know, who is our friend in this world?
ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੋਈ ਬਿਧਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jis Hoe Kirapaal Soee Bidhh Boojhai Thaa Kee Niramal Reeth ||1|| Rehaao ||
जिसु होइ क्रिपालु सोई बिधि बूझै ता की निरमल रीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He alone understands this, whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy. Immaculate and unstained is his way of life. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਇਸਟ ਮੀਤ ਅਰੁ ਭਾਈ ॥
Maath Pithaa Banithaa Suth Bandhhap Eisatt Meeth Ar Bhaaee ||
मात पिता बनिता सुत बंधप इसट मीत अरु भाई ॥
Mother, father, spouse, children, relatives, lovers, friends and siblings meet,
ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਅੰਤਹਿ ਕੋ ਨ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥
Poorab Janam Kae Milae Sanjogee Anthehi Ko N Sehaaee ||1||
पूरब जनम के मिले संजोगी अंतहि को न सहाई ॥१॥
Having been associated in previous lives; but none of them will be your companion and support in the end. ||1||
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਮਾਲ ਕਨਿਕ ਲਾਲ ਹੀਰਾ ਮਨ ਰੰਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Mukath Maal Kanik Laal Heeraa Man Ranjan Kee Maaeiaa ||
मुकति माल कनिक लाल हीरा मन रंजन की माइआ ॥
Pearl necklaces, gold, rubies and diamonds please the mind, but they are only Maya.
ਹਾ ਹਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਵਧਹਿ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Haa Haa Karath Bihaanee Avadhhehi Thaa Mehi Santhokh N Paaeiaa ||2||
हा हा करत बिहानी अवधहि ता महि संतोखु न पाइआ ॥२॥
Possessing them, one passes his life in agony; he obtains no contentment from them. ||2||
ਹਸਤਿ ਰਥ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਪਵਨ ਤੇਜ ਧਣੀ ਭੂਮਨ ਚਤੁਰਾਂਗਾ ॥
Hasath Rathh Asv Pavan Thaej Dhhanee Bhooman Chathuraangaa ||
हसति रथ अस्व पवन तेज धणी भूमन चतुरांगा ॥
Elephants, chariots, horses as fast as the wind, wealth, land, and armies of four kinds
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਿਓ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਛੂਐ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਇਓ ਨਾਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
Sang N Chaaliou Ein Mehi Kashhooai Ooth Sidhhaaeiou Naangaa ||3||
संगि न चालिओ इन महि कछूऐ ऊठि सिधाइओ नांगा ॥३॥
- none of these will go with him; he must get up and depart, naked. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥

हरि के संत प्रिअ प्रीतम प्रभ के ता कै हरि हरि गाईऐ ॥
The Lord's Saints are the beloved lovers of God; sing of the Lord, Har, Har, with them.
ਨਾਨਕ ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੧॥
Naanak Eehaa Sukh Aagai Mukh Oojal Sang Santhan Kai Paaeeai ||4||1||
नानक ईहा सुखु आगै मुख ऊजल संगि संतन कै पाईऐ ॥४॥१॥
O Nanak, in the Society of the Saints, you shall obtain peace in this world, and in the next world, your face shall be radiant and bright. ||4||1||

ਬਿਸਮੁ ਭਈ ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਸਹੀਅਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Bisam Bhee Mai Bahu Bidhh Sunathae Kehahu Suhaagan Seheeao ||1|| Rehaao ||
बिसमु भई मै बहु बिधि सुनते कहहु सुहागनि सहीअउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I am wonder-struck, hearing the many reports of Him; tell them to me, O my happy sister soul-brides. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋ ਕਹਤੋ ਸਭ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਹਤੋ ਸਭ ਮਹੀਅਉ ॥
Ko Kehatho Sabh Baahar Baahar Ko Kehatho Sabh Meheeao ||
को कहतो सभ बाहरि बाहरि को कहतो सभ महीअउ ॥
Some say that He is beyond the world - totally beyond it, while others say that He is totally within it.
ਬਰਨੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਬੁਝਹੀਅਉ ॥੧॥
Baran N Dheesai Chihan N Lakheeai Suhaagan Saath Bujheheeao ||1||
बरनु न दीसै चिहनु न लखीऐ सुहागनि साति बुझहीअउ ॥१॥
His color cannot be seen, and His pattern cannot be discerned. O happy soul-brides, tell me the truth! ||1||
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਾਸੀ ਲੇਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਅਲਪਹੀਅਉ ॥
Sarab Nivaasee Ghatt Ghatt Vaasee Laep Nehee Alapeheeao ||
सरब निवासी घटि घटि वासी लेपु नही अलपहीअउ ॥
He is pervading everywhere, and He dwells in each and every heart; He is not stained - He is unstained.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਲੋਗਾ ਸੰਤ ਰਸਨ ਕੋ ਬਸਹੀਅਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੨॥

नानकु कहत सुनहु रे लोगा संत रसन को बसहीअउ ॥२॥१॥२॥

ਧੀਰਉ ਸੁਨਿ ਧੀਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dhheero Sun Dhheero Prabh Ko ||1|| Rehaao ||
धीरउ सुनि धीरउ प्रभ कउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I am calmed, calmed and soothed, hearing of God. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਨੀਰਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਨੀਰਉ ॥੧॥
Jeea Praan Man Than Sabh Arapo Neero Paekh Prabh Ko Neero ||1||
जीअ प्रान मनु तनु सभु अरपउ नीरउ पेखि प्रभ कउ नीरउ ॥१॥
I dedicate my soul, my breath of life, my mind, body and everything to Him: I behold God near, very near. ||1||
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਬਡ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਗਹੀਰਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੨॥
Baesumaar Baeanth Badd Dhaathaa Manehi Geheero Paekh Prabh Ko ||2||
बेसुमार बेअंतु बड दाता मनहि गहीरउ पेखि प्रभ कउ ॥२॥
Beholding God, the inestimable, infinite and Great Giver, I cherish Him in my mind. ||2||
ਜੋ ਚਾਹਉ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਵਉ ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਉ ਜਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੩॥
Jo Chaaho Soee Soee Paavo Aasaa Manasaa Pooro Jap Prabh Ko ||3||
जो चाहउ सोई सोई पावउ आसा मनसा पूरउ जपि प्रभ कउ ॥३॥
Whatever I wish for, I receive; my hopes and desires are fulfilled, meditating on God. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਦੂਖਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਝੂਰਉ ਬੁਝਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
Gur Prasaadh Naanak Man Vasiaa Dhookh N Kabehoo Jhooro Bujh Prabh Ko ||4||2||3||
गुर प्रसादि नानक मनि वसिआ दूखि न कबहू झूरउ बुझि प्रभ कउ ॥४॥२॥३॥
By Guru's Grace, God dwells in Nanak's mind; he never suffers or grieves, having realized God. ||4||2||3||

ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨੀਕੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ghar Ghar Mangal Gaavahu Neekae Ghatt Ghatt Thisehi Basaeraa ||1|| Rehaao ||
घरि घरि मंगल गावहु नीके घटि घटि तिसहि बसेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
In each and every home, sing the sublime songs of rejoicing; He abides in each and every heart. ||1||Pause||
ਸੂਖਿ ਅਰਾਧਨੁ ਦੂਖਿ ਅਰਾਧਨੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਬੇਰਾ ॥
Sookh Araadhhan Dhookh Araadhhan Bisarai N Kaahoo Baeraa ||
सूखि अराधनु दूखि अराधनु बिसरै न काहू बेरा ॥
In good times, worship and adore Him; in bad times, worship and adore Him; do not ever forget Him.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੂਰ ਉਜਾਰਾ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਭਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥੧॥
Naam Japath Kott Soor Oujaaraa Binasai Bharam Andhhaeraa ||1||
नामु जपत कोटि सूर उजारा बिनसै भरमु अंधेरा ॥१॥
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the light of millions of suns shines forth, and the darkness of doubt is dispelled. ||1||
ਥਾਨਿ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
Thhaan Thhananthar Sabhanee Jaaee Jo Dheesai So Thaeraa ||
थानि थनंतरि सभनी जाई जो दीसै सो तेरा ॥
In all the spaces and interspaces, everywhere, whatever we see is Yours.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੪॥
Santhasang Paavai Jo Naanak This Bahur N Hoee Hai Faeraa ||2||3||4||
संतसंगि पावै जो नानक तिसु बहुरि न होई है फेरा ॥२॥३॥४॥
One who finds the Society of the Saints, O Nanak, is not consigned to reincarnation again. ||2||3||4||
