Jam Kaa Ddandd Moondd Mehi Laagai Khin Mehi Karai Nibaeraa ||3||
जम का डंडु मूंड महि लागै खिन महि करै निबेरा ॥३॥
When the Messenger of Death strikes him with his club, in an instant, everything is settled. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਊਤਮੁ ਭਗਤੁ ਸਦਾਵੈ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
Har Jan Ootham Bhagath Sadhaavai Aagiaa Man Sukh Paaee ||
हरि जनु ऊतमु भगतु सदावै आगिआ मनि सुखु पाई ॥
The Lord's humble servant is called the most exalted Saint; he obeys the Command of the Lord's Order, and obtains peace.

जो तिसु भावै सति करि मानै भाणा मंनि वसाई ॥४॥
Whatever is pleasing to the Lord, he accepts as True; he enshrines the Lord's Will within his mind. ||4||

कहै कबीरु सुनहु रे संतहु मेरी मेरी झूठी ॥
Says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - it is false to call out, ""Mine, mine.""

Chiragatt Faar Chattaaraa Lai Gaeiou Tharee Thaagaree Shhoottee ||5||3||16||
चिरगट फारि चटारा लै गइओ तरी तागरी छूटी ॥५॥३॥१६॥
Breaking the bird cage, death takes the bird away, and only the torn threads remain. ||5||3||16||

Ham Masakeen Khudhaaee Bandhae Thum Raajas Man Bhaavai ||
हम मसकीन खुदाई बंदे तुम राजसु मनि भावै ॥
I am Your humble servant, Lord; Your Praises are pleasing to my mind.
ਅਲਹ ਅਵਲਿ ਦੀਨ ਕੋ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਜੋਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
Aleh Aval Dheen Ko Saahib Jor Nehee Furamaavai ||1||
अलह अवलि दीन को साहिबु जोरु नही फुरमावै ॥१॥
The Lord, the Primal Being, the Master of the poor, does not ordain that they should be oppressed. ||1||
ਕਾਜੀ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਬਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

काजी बोलिआ बनि नही आवै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

ਰੋਜਾ ਧਰੈ ਨਿਵਾਜ ਗੁਜਾਰੈ ਕਲਮਾ ਭਿਸਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Rojaa Dhharai Nivaaj Gujaarai Kalamaa Bhisath N Hoee ||
रोजा धरै निवाज गुजारै कलमा भिसति न होई ॥
Keeping your fasts, reciting your prayers, and reading the Kalma, the Islamic creed, shall not take you to paradise.
ਸਤਰਿ ਕਾਬਾ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੨॥
Sathar Kaabaa Ghatt Hee Bheethar Jae Kar Jaanai Koee ||2||
सतरि काबा घट ही भीतरि जे करि जानै कोई ॥२॥
The Temple of Mecca is hidden within your mind, if you only knew it. ||2||
ਨਿਵਾਜ ਸੋਈ ਜੋ ਨਿਆਉ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ਕਲਮਾ ਅਕਲਹਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
Nivaaj Soee Jo Niaao Bichaarai Kalamaa Akalehi Jaanai ||
निवाज सोई जो निआउ बिचारै कलमा अकलहि जानै ॥
That should be your prayer, to administer justice. Let your Kalma be the knowledge of the unknowable Lord.
ਪਾਚਹੁ ਮੁਸਿ ਮੁਸਲਾ ਬਿਛਾਵੈ ਤਬ ਤਉ ਦੀਨੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥੩॥
Paachahu Mus Musalaa Bishhaavai Thab Tho Dheen Pashhaanai ||3||
पाचहु मुसि मुसला बिछावै तब तउ दीनु पछानै ॥३॥
Spread your prayer mat by conquering your five desires, and you shall recognize the true religion. ||3||
ਖਸਮੁ ਪਛਾਨਿ ਤਰਸ ਕਰਿ ਜੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਣੀ ਕਰਿ ਫੀਕੀ ॥
Khasam Pashhaan Tharas Kar Jeea Mehi Maar Manee Kar Feekee ||
खसमु पछानि तरस करि जीअ महि मारि मणी करि फीकी ॥
Recognize Your Lord and Master, and fear Him within your heart; conquer your egotism, and make it worthless.
ਆਪੁ ਜਨਾਇ ਅਵਰ ਕਉ ਜਾਨੈ ਤਬ ਹੋਇ ਭਿਸਤ ਸਰੀਕੀ ॥੪॥
Aap Janaae Avar Ko Jaanai Thab Hoe Bhisath Sareekee ||4||
आपु जनाइ अवर कउ जानै तब होइ भिसत सरीकी ॥४॥
As you see yourself, see others as well; only then will you become a partner in heaven. ||4||
ਮਾਟੀ ਏਕ ਭੇਖ ਧਰਿ ਨਾਨਾ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ॥
Maattee Eaek Bhaekh Dhhar Naanaa Thaa Mehi Breham Pashhaanaa ||
माटी एक भेख धरि नाना ता महि ब्रहमु पछाना ॥
The clay is one, but it has taken many forms; I recognize the One Lord within them all.

गगन नगरि इक बूंद न बरखै नादु कहा जु समाना ॥
From the city of the Tenth Gate, the sky of the mind, not even a drop rains down. Where is the music of the sound current of the Naad, which was contained in it?

बजावनहारो कहा गइओ जिनि इहु मंदरु कीन्हा ॥
Where has the player gone - he who made this temple his own?

साखी सबदु सुरति नही उपजै खिंचि तेजु सभु लीन्हा ॥२॥
No story, word or understanding is produced; the Lord has drained off all the power. ||2||

Sravanan Bikal Bheae Sang Thaerae Eindhree Kaa Bal Thhaakaa ||
स्रवनन बिकल भए संगि तेरे इंद्री का बलु थाका ॥
The ears, your companions, have gone deaf, and the power of your organs is exhausted.
ਚਰਨ ਰਹੇ ਕਰ ਢਰਕਿ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਨ ਨਿਕਸੈ ਬਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
Charan Rehae Kar Dtarak Parae Hai Mukhahu N Nikasai Baathaa ||3||
चरन रहे कर ढरकि परे है मुखहु न निकसै बाता ॥३॥
Your feet have failed, your hands have gone limp, and no words issue forth from your mouth. ||3||
ਥਾਕੇ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਸਭ ਤਸਕਰ ਆਪ ਆਪਣੈ ਭ੍ਰਮਤੇ ॥
Thhaakae Panch Dhooth Sabh Thasakar Aap Aapanai Bhramathae ||
थाके पंच दूत सभ तसकर आप आपणै भ्रमते ॥
Having grown weary, the five enemies and all the thieves have wandered away according to their own will.
ਥਾਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਕੁੰਚਰ ਉਰੁ ਥਾਕਾ ਤੇਜੁ ਸੂਤੁ ਧਰਿ ਰਮਤੇ ॥੪॥
Thhaakaa Man Kunchar Our Thhaakaa Thaej Sooth Dhhar Ramathae ||4||
थाका मनु कुंचर उरु थाका तेजु सूतु धरि रमते ॥४॥
The elephant of the mind has grown weary, and the heart has grown weary as well; through its power, it used to pull the strings. ||4||
ਮਿਰਤਕ ਭਏ ਦਸੈ ਬੰਦ ਛੂਟੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਭਾਈ ਸਭ ਛੋਰੇ ॥
Mirathak Bheae Dhasai Bandh Shhoottae Mithr Bhaaee Sabh Shhorae ||
मिरतक भए दसै बंद छूटे मित्र भाई सभ छोरे ॥
He is dead, and the bonds of the ten gates are opened; he has left all his friends and brothers.
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਜੀਵਤ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੋਰੇ ॥੫॥੫॥੧੮॥
Kehath Kabeeraa Jo Har Dhhiaavai Jeevath Bandhhan Thorae ||5||5||18||
कहत कबीरा जो हरि धिआवै जीवत बंधन तोरे ॥५॥५॥१८॥
Says Kabeer, one who meditates on the Lord, breaks his bonds, even while yet alive. ||5||5||18||

सरपनी ते ऊपरि नही बलीआ ॥
No one is more powerful than the she-serpent Maya,
ਜਿਨਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹਾਦੇਉ ਛਲੀਆ ॥੧॥
Jin Brehamaa Bisan Mehaadhaeo Shhaleeaa ||1||
जिनि ब्रहमा बिसनु महादेउ छलीआ ॥१॥
Who deceived even Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. ||1||
ਮਾਰੁ ਮਾਰੁ ਸ੍ਰਪਨੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਲਿ ਪੈਠੀ ॥
Maar Maar Srapanee Niramal Jal Paithee ||
मारु मारु स्रपनी निरमल जलि पैठी ॥
Having bitten and struck them down, she now sits in the immaculate waters.
ਜਿਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣੁ ਡਸੀਅਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਡੀਠੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Jin Saach Pashhaaniaa Thin Srapanee Khaaee ||2||
जिनि साचु पछानिआ तिनि स्रपनी खाई ॥२॥
One who realizes the True Lord, devours the she-serpent. ||2||
ਸ੍ਰਪਨੀ ਤੇ ਆਨ ਛੂਛ ਨਹੀ ਅਵਰਾ ॥
Srapanee Thae Aan Shhooshh Nehee Avaraa ||
स्रपनी ते आन छूछ नही अवरा ॥
No one else is more frivolous than this she-serpent.
ਸ੍ਰਪਨੀ ਜੀਤੀ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਜਮਰਾ ॥੩॥
