एक अनेक बिआपक पूरक जत देखउ तत सोई ॥
In the one and in the many, He is pervading and permeating; wherever I look, there He is.

सभु गोबिंदु है सभु गोबिंदु है गोबिंद बिनु नही कोई ॥
God is everything, God is everything. Without God, there is nothing at all.

जल तरंग अरु फेन बुदबुदा जल ते भिंन न होई ॥
The waves of the water, the foam and bubbles, are not distinct from the water.
ਇਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਲੀਲਾ ਬਿਚਰਤ ਆਨ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥

इहु परपंचु पारब्रहम की लीला बिचरत आन न होई ॥२॥
This manifested world is the playful game of the Supreme Lord God; reflecting upon it, we find that it is not different from Him. ||2||
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਅਰੁ ਸੁਪਨ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਸਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥

मिथिआ भरमु अरु सुपन मनोरथ सति पदारथु जानिआ ॥
False doubts and dream objects - man believes them to be true.
ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਮਨਸਾ ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੀ ਜਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥

सुक्रित मनसा गुर उपदेसी जागत ही मनु मानिआ ॥३॥
The Guru has instructed me to try to do good deeds, and my awakened mind has accepted this. ||3||
ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Kehath Naamadhaeo Har Kee Rachanaa Dhaekhahu Ridhai Beechaaree ||
कहत नामदेउ हरि की रचना देखहु रिदै बीचारी ॥
Says Naam Dayv, see the Creation of the Lord, and reflect upon it in your heart.

आनीले कु्मभ भराईले ऊदक ठाकुर कउ इसनानु करउ ॥
Bringing the pitcher, I fill it with water, to bathe the Lord.
ਬਇਆਲੀਸ ਲਖ ਜੀ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਹੋਤੇ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਭੈਲਾ ਕਾਇ ਕਰਉ ॥੧॥
Baeiaalees Lakh Jee Jal Mehi Hothae Beethal Bhailaa Kaae Karo ||1||
बइआलीस लख जी जल महि होते बीठलु भैला काइ करउ ॥१॥
But 4.2 million species of beings are in the water - how can I use it for the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny? ||1||

I bring flowers to weave a garland, in worshipful adoration of the Lord.

But the bumble bee has already sucked out the fragrance - how can I use it for the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny? ||2||

Aaneelae Dhoodhh Reedhhaaeelae Kheeran Thaakur Ko Naivaedh Karo ||
आनीले दूधु रीधाईले खीरं ठाकुर कउ नैवेदु करउ ॥
I carry milk and cook it to make pudding, with which to feed the Lord.
ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੂਧੁ ਬਿਟਾਰਿਓ ਬਛਰੈ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਭੈਲਾ ਕਾਇ ਕਰਉ ॥੩॥
Pehilae Dhoodhh Bittaariou Bashharai Beethal Bhailaa Kaae Karo ||3||
पहिले दूधु बिटारिओ बछरै बीठलु भैला काइ करउ ॥३॥
But the calf has already tasted the milk - how can I use it for the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny? ||3||
ਈਭੈ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਊਭੈ ਬੀਠਲੁ ਬੀਠਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਨਹੀ ॥
Eebhai Beethal Oobhai Beethal Beethal Bin Sansaar Nehee ||
ईभै बीठलु ऊभै बीठलु बीठल बिनु संसारु नही ॥
The Lord is here, the Lord is there; without the Lord, there is no world at all.

My mind is the yardstick, and my tongue is the scissors.
ਮਪਿ ਮਪਿ ਕਾਟਉ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੧॥

मपि मपि काटउ जम की फासी ॥१॥
I measure it out and cut off the noose of death. ||1||

कहा करउ जाती कह करउ पाती ॥
What do I have to do with social status? What do I have to with ancestry?

I meditate on the Name of the Lord, day and night. ||1||Pause||

रांगनि रांगउ सीवनि सीवउ ॥
I dye myself in the color of the Lord, and sew what has to be sewn.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਘਰੀਅ ਨ ਜੀਵਉ ॥੨॥

राम नाम बिनु घरीअ न जीवउ ॥२॥
Without the Lord's Name, I cannot live, even for a moment. ||2||
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਉ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਉ ॥

भगति करउ हरि के गुन गावउ ॥
I perform devotional worship, and sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਪਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੩॥
Aath Pehar Apanaa Khasam Dhhiaavo ||3||
आठ पहर अपना खसमु धिआवउ ॥३॥
Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on my Lord and Master. ||3||
ਸੁਇਨੇ ਕੀ ਸੂਈ ਰੁਪੇ ਕਾ ਧਾਗਾ ॥
Sueinae Kee Sooee Rupae Kaa Dhhaagaa ||
सुइने की सूई रुपे का धागा ॥
My needle is gold, and my thread is silver.
ਨਾਮੇ ਕਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਉ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੩॥

नामे का चितु हरि सउ लागा ॥४॥३॥

ਸਾਪੁ ਕੁੰਚ ਛੋਡੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਛਾਡੈ ॥
Saap Kunch Shhoddai Bikh Nehee Shhaaddai ||
सापु कुंच छोडै बिखु नही छाडै ॥
The snake sheds its skin, but does not lose its venom.
ਉਦਕ ਮਾਹਿ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਗੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਮਾਡੈ ॥੧॥
Oudhak Maahi Jaisae Bag Dhhiaan Maaddai ||1||
उदक माहि जैसे बगु धिआनु माडै ॥१॥
The heron appears to be meditating, but it is concentrating on the water. ||1||
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਜਪੰਨਾ ॥
Kaahae Ko Keejai Dhhiaan Japannaa ||
काहे कउ कीजै धिआनु जपंना ॥
Why do you practice meditation and chanting,
ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸੁਧੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਅਪਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jab Thae Sudhh Naahee Man Apanaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
जब ते सुधु नाही मनु अपना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
When your mind is not pure? ||1||Pause||
ਸਿੰਘਚ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਜੋ ਨਰੁ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
Singhach Bhojan Jo Nar Jaanai ||
सिंघच भोजनु जो नरु जानै ॥
That man who feeds like a lion,
ਐਸੇ ਹੀ ਠਗਦੇਉ ਬਖਾਨੈ ॥੨॥
Aisae Hee Thagadhaeo Bakhaanai ||2||
ऐसे ही ठगदेउ बखानै ॥२॥
Is called the god of thieves. ||2||
ਨਾਮੇ ਕੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਲਾਹਿ ਲੇ ਝਗਰਾ ॥
