आपे कासट आपि हरि पिआरा विचि कासट अगनि रखाइआ ॥
The Beloved Lord Himself is the firewood, and He Himself keeps the fire within the wood.
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਭੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਜਲਾਇਆ ॥
Aapae Hee Aap Varathadhaa Piaaraa Bhai Agan N Sakai Jalaaeiaa ||
आपे ही आपि वरतदा पिआरा भै अगनि न सकै जलाइआ ॥
The Beloved Lord Himself, all by Himself, permeates them, and because of the Fear of God, the fire cannot burn the wood.
ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸਾਹ ਲੈਦੇ ਸਭਿ ਲਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Aapae Maar Jeevaaeidhaa Piaaraa Saah Laidhae Sabh Lavaaeiaa ||3||
आपे मारि जीवाइदा पिआरा साह लैदे सभि लवाइआ ॥३॥
The Beloved Himself kills and revives; all draw the breath of life, given by Him. ||3||

The Beloved Himself is power and presence; He Himself engages us in our work.

जिउ आपि चलाए तिउ चलीऐ पिआरे जिउ हरि प्रभ मेरे भाइआ ॥
As the Beloved makes me walk, I walk, as it pleases my Lord God.

आपे स्रिसटि उपाइदा पिआरा करि सूरजु चंदु चानाणु ॥
The Beloved Himself created the Universe; He made the light of the sun and the moon.

मेरे मन जपि राम नामु नीसाणु ॥
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, and receive His Insignia.
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sathasangath Mil Dhhiaae Thoo Har Har Bahurr N Aavan Jaan || Rehaao ||
सतसंगति मिलि धिआइ तू हरि हरि बहुड़ि न आवण जाणु ॥ रहाउ ॥
Join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, and meditate on the Lord, Har, Har; you shall not have to come and go in reincarnation again. ||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਗੁਣ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥

आपे ही गुण वरतदा पिआरा आपे ही परवाणु ॥
The Beloved Himself pervades His Glorious Praises, and He Himself approves them.
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥
Aapae Bakhas Karaaeidhaa Piaaraa Aapae Sach Neesaan ||
आपे बखस कराइदा पिआरा आपे सचु नीसाणु ॥
The Beloved Himself grants His forgiveness, and He Himself bestows the Insignia of Truth.
ਆਪੇ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਫੁਰਮਾਣੁ ॥੨॥
Aapae Hukam Varathadhaa Piaaraa Aapae Hee Furamaan ||2||
आपे हुकमि वरतदा पिआरा आपे ही फुरमाणु ॥२॥
The Beloved Himself obeys His Will, and He Himself issues His Command. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਦਾਣੁ ॥

आपे भगति भंडार है पिआरा आपे देवै दाणु ॥
The Beloved Himself is the treasure of devotion; He Himself gives His gifts.
ਆਪੇ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਵੈ ਮਾਣੁ ॥
Aapae Saev Karaaeidhaa Piaaraa Aap Dhivaavai Maan ||
आपे सेव कराइदा पिआरा आपि दिवावै माणु ॥
The Beloved Himself commits some to His service, and He Himself blesses them with honor.
ਆਪੇ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
Aapae Thaarree Laaeidhaa Piaaraa Aapae Gunee Nidhhaan ||3||
आपे ताड़ी लाइदा पिआरा आपे गुणी निधानु ॥३॥
The Beloved Himself is absorbed in Samaadhi; He Himself is the treasure of excellence. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਵਡਾ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਪਰਧਾਣੁ ॥

आपे वडा आपि है पिआरा आपे ही परधाणु ॥
The Beloved Himself is the greatest; He Himself is supreme.
ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਲੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥

आपे कीमति पाइदा पिआरा आपे तुलु परवाणु ॥
The Beloved Himself appraises the value; He Himself is the scale, and the weights.
ਆਪੇ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਤੁਲਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੫॥

आपे गुण गावाइदा पिआरा आपे सबदि समाहा ॥
The Beloved Himself causes us to sing His Glorious Praises; He Himself is absorbed in the Word of His Shabad.

He Himself is the pen, and He Himself is the scribe; He Himself inscribes His inscription. ||1||

मेरे मन जपि राम नामु ओमाहा ॥
O my mind, joyfully chant the Name of the Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਲੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Anadhin Anadh Hovai Vaddabhaagee Lai Gur Poorai Har Laahaa || Rehaao ||
अनदिनु अनदु होवै वडभागी लै गुरि पूरै हरि लाहा ॥ रहाउ ॥
Those very fortunate ones are in ecstasy night and day; through the Perfect Guru, they obtain the profit of the Lord's Name. ||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਗੋਪੀ ਕਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬਨਿ ਆਪੇ ਗਊ ਚਰਾਹਾ ॥

आपे गोपी कानु है पिआरा बनि आपे गऊ चराहा ॥
The Beloved Himself is the milk-maid and Krishna; He Himself herds the cows in the woods.

आपे सावल सुंदरा पिआरा आपे वंसु वजाहा ॥
The Beloved Himself is the blue-skinned, handsome one; He Himself plays on His flute.
ਕੁਵਲੀਆ ਪੀੜੁ ਆਪਿ ਮਰਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਲਕ ਰੂਪਿ ਪਚਾਹਾ ॥੨॥
Kuvaleeaa Peerr Aap Maraaeidhaa Piaaraa Kar Baalak Roop Pachaahaa ||2||
कुवलीआ पीड़ु आपि मराइदा पिआरा करि बालक रूपि पचाहा ॥२॥
The Beloved Himself took the form of a child, and destroyed Kuwalia-peer, the mad elephant. ||2||
ਆਪਿ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਚੋਜਾਹਾ ॥

आपि अखाड़ा पाइदा पिआरा करि वेखै आपि चोजाहा ॥
The Beloved Himself sets the stage; He performs the plays, and He Himself watches them.
ਕਰਿ ਬਾਲਕ ਰੂਪ ਉਪਾਇਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਚੰਡੂਰੁ ਕੰਸੁ ਕੇਸੁ ਮਾਰਾਹਾ ॥
Kar Baalak Roop Oupaaeidhaa Piaaraa Chanddoor Kans Kaes Maaraahaa ||
करि बालक रूप उपाइदा पिआरा चंडूरु कंसु केसु माराहा ॥
The Beloved Himself assumed the form of the child, and killed the demons Chandoor, Kansa and Kaysee.
ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਬਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਬਲੁ ਭੰਨੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧਾਹਾ ॥੩॥
Aapae Hee Bal Aap Hai Piaaraa Bal Bhannai Moorakh Mugadhhaahaa ||3||
आपे ही बलु आपि है पिआरा बलु भंनै मूरख मुगधाहा ॥३॥
The Beloved Himself, by Himself, is the embodiment of power; He shatters the power of the fools and idiots. ||3||

सभु आपे जगतु उपाइदा पिआरा वसि आपे जुगति हथाहा ॥
