Nanak has met with the Perfect Guru; all his sorrows have been dispelled. ||4||5||

ਸੁਖੀਏ ਕਉ ਪੇਖੈ ਸਭ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਰੋਗੀ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਭ ਰੋਗੀ ॥
Sukheeeae Ko Paekhai Sabh Sukheeaa Rogee Kai Bhaanai Sabh Rogee ||
सुखीए कउ पेखै सभ सुखीआ रोगी कै भाणै सभ रोगी ॥
To the happy person, everyone seems happy; to the sick person, everyone seems sick.
ਕਰਣ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਨ ਹਾਥਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ॥੧॥
Karan Karaavanehaar Suaamee Aapan Haathh Sanjogee ||1||
करण करावनहार सुआमी आपन हाथि संजोगी ॥१॥
The Lord and Master acts, and causes us to act; union is in His Hands. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਵਾਤਾ ॥
Man Maerae Jin Apunaa Bharam Gavaathaa ||
मन मेरे जिनि अपुना भरमु गवाता ॥
O my mind, no one appears to be mistaken, to one who has dispelled his own doubts;
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਭੂਲਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
This Kai Bhaanai Koe N Bhoolaa Jin Sagalo Breham Pashhaathaa || Rehaao ||
तिस कै भाणै कोइ न भूला जिनि सगलो ब्रहमु पछाता ॥ रहाउ ॥
He realizes that everyone is God. ||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਓਹੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਠਾਂਢੀ ॥
Santh Sang Jaa Kaa Man Seethal Ouhu Jaanai Sagalee Thaandtee ||
संत संगि जा का मनु सीतलु ओहु जाणै सगली ठांढी ॥
One whose mind is comforted in the Society of the Saints, believes that all are joyful.
ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਆਪਿਤ ਓਹੁ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
Houmai Rog Jaa Kaa Man Biaapith Ouhu Janam Marai Bilalaathee ||2||
हउमै रोगि जा का मनु बिआपित ओहु जनमि मरै बिललाती ॥२॥
One whose mind is afflicted by the disease of egotism, cries out in birth and death. ||2||
ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੜਿਆ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
Giaan Anjan Jaa Kee Naethree Parriaa Thaa Ko Sarab Pragaasaa ||
गिआन अंजनु जा की नेत्री पड़िआ ता कउ सरब प्रगासा ॥
Everything is clear to one whose eyes are blessed with the ointment of spiritual wisdom.
ਅਗਿਆਨਿ ਅੰਧੇਰੈ ਸੂਝਸਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਭਰਮਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
Agiaan Andhhaerai Soojhas Naahee Bahurr Bahurr Bharamaathaa ||3||
अगिआनि अंधेरै सूझसि नाही बहुड़ि बहुड़ि भरमाता ॥३॥
In the darkness of spiritual ignorance, he sees nothing at all; he wanders around in reincarnation, over and over again. ||3||
ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਗੈ ॥
Sun Baenanthee Suaamee Apunae Naanak Eihu Sukh Maagai ||
सुणि बेनंती सुआमी अपुने नानकु इहु सुखु मागै ॥
Hear my prayer, O Lord and Master; Nanak begs for this happiness:
ਜਹ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੪॥੬॥
Jeh Keerathan Thaeraa Saadhhoo Gaavehi Theh Maeraa Man Laagai ||4||6||
जह कीरतनु तेरा साधू गावहि तह मेरा मनु लागै ॥४॥६॥
Whereever Your Holy Saints sing the Kirtan of Your Praises, let my mind be attached to that place. ||4||6||

ਤਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ॥
Than Santhan Kaa Dhhan Santhan Kaa Man Santhan Kaa Keeaa ||
तनु संतन का धनु संतन का मनु संतन का कीआ ॥
My body belongs to the Saints, my wealth belongs to the Saints, and my mind belongs to the Saints.
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸਰਬ ਕੁਸਲ ਤਬ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥
Santh Prasaadh Har Naam Dhhiaaeiaa Sarab Kusal Thab Thheeaa ||1||
संत प्रसादि हरि नामु धिआइआ सरब कुसल तब थीआ ॥१॥
By the Grace of the Saints, I meditate on the Lord's Name, and then, all comforts come to me. ||1||
ਸੰਤਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦਾਤਾ ਬੀਆ ॥

संतन बिनु अवरु न दाता बीआ ॥
Without the Saints, there are no other givers.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੀ ਸੋ ਪਾਰਗਰਾਮੀ ਕੀਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jo Jo Saran Parai Saadhhoo Kee So Paaragaraamee Keeaa || Rehaao ||
जो जो सरणि परै साधू की सो पारगरामी कीआ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Whoever takes to the Sanctuary of the Holy Saints, is carried across. ||Pause||
ਕੋਟਿ ਪਰਾਧ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਰਸਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
Kott Paraadhh Mittehi Jan Saevaa Har Keerathan Ras Gaaeeai ||
कोटि पराध मिटहि जन सेवा हरि कीरतनु रसि गाईऐ ॥
Millions of sins are erased by serving the humble Saints, and singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with love.
ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
Eehaa Sukh Aagai Mukh Oojal Jan Kaa Sang Vaddabhaagee Paaeeai ||2||
ईहा सुखु आगै मुख ऊजल जन का संगु वडभागी पाईऐ ॥२॥
One finds peace in this world, and one's face is radiant in the next world, by associating with the humble Saints, through great good fortune. ||2||
ਰਸਨਾ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਗੁਣ ਪੂਰਨ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਕੇਤਕ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
Rasanaa Eaek Anaek Gun Pooran Jan Kee Kaethak Oupamaa Keheeai ||
रसना एक अनेक गुण पूरन जन की केतक उपमा कहीऐ ॥
I have only one tongue, and the Lord's humble servant is filled with countless virtues; how can I sing his praises?
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਸਦ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੩॥
Agam Agochar Sadh Abinaasee Saran Santhan Kee Leheeai ||3||
अगम अगोचर सद अबिनासी सरणि संतन की लहीऐ ॥३॥
The inaccessible, unapproachable and eternally unchanging Lord is obtained in the Sanctuary of the Saints. ||3||
ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਨੀਚ ਅਨਾਥ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਓਟ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਆਹੀ ॥
Niragun Neech Anaathh Aparaadhhee Outt Santhan Kee Aahee ||
निरगुन नीच अनाथ अपराधी ओट संतन की आही ॥
I am worthless, lowly, without friends or support, and full of sins; I long for the Shelter of the Saints.
ਬੂਡਤ ਮੋਹ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਮਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਲੇਹੁ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੭॥
Booddath Moh Grih Andhh Koop Mehi Naanak Laehu Nibaahee ||4||7||
बूडत मोह ग्रिह अंध कूप महि नानक लेहु निबाही ॥४॥७॥
I am drowning in the deep, dark pit of household attachments - please save me, Lord! ||4||7||

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਤੂ ਕਰਤੇ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤੈਂ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਈ ॥
Jaa Kai Hiradhai Vasiaa Thoo Karathae Thaa Kee Thain Aas Pujaaee ||
जा कै हिरदै वसिआ तू करते ता की तैं आस पुजाई ॥
O Creator Lord, You fulfill the desires of those, within whose heart You abide.
ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਤੂ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਰਣ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ॥੧॥
Dhaas Apunae Ko Thoo Visarehi Naahee Charan Dhhoor Man Bhaaee ||1||
दास अपुने कउ तू विसरहि नाही चरण धूरि मनि भाई ॥१॥
Your slaves do not forget You; the dust of Your feet is pleasing to their minds. ||1||
ਤੇਰੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
Thaeree Akathh Kathhaa Kathhan N Jaaee ||
तेरी अकथ कथा कथनु न जाई ॥
Your Unspoken Speech cannot be spoken.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਬਡਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gun Nidhhaan Sukhadhaathae Suaamee Sabh Thae Ooch Baddaaee || Rehaao ||
गुण निधान सुखदाते सुआमी सभ ते ऊच बडाई ॥ रहाउ ॥
O treasure of excellence, Giver of peace, Lord and Master, Your greatness is the highest of all. ||Pause||
ਸੋ ਸੋ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਜੈਸੀ ਤੁਮ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
So So Karam Karath Hai Praanee Jaisee Thum Likh Paaee ||
सो सो करम करत है प्राणी जैसी तुम लिखि पाई ॥
The mortal does those deeds, and those alone, which You ordained by destiny.
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੨॥
Saevak Ko Thum Saevaa Dheenee Dharasan Dhaekh Aghaaee ||2||
सेवक कउ तुम सेवा दीनी दरसनु देखि अघाई ॥२॥
Your servant, whom You bless with Your service, is satisfied and fulfilled, beholding the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
Sarab Niranthar Thumehi Samaanae Jaa Ko Thudhh Aap Bujhaaee ||
सरब निरंतरि तुमहि समाने जा कउ तुधु आपि बुझाई ॥
You are contained in all, but he alone realizes this, whom You bless with understanding.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਅਗਿਆਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ॥੩॥
Gur Parasaadh Mittiou Agiaanaa Pragatt Bheae Sabh Thaaee ||3||
गुर परसादि मिटिओ अगिआना प्रगट भए सभ ठाई ॥३॥
By Guru's Grace, his spiritual ignorance is dispelled, and he is respected everywhere. ||3||
ਸੋਈ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸੋਈ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥
Soee Giaanee Soee Dhhiaanee Soee Purakh Subhaaee ||
सोई गिआनी सोई धिआनी सोई पुरखु सुभाई ॥
He alone is spiritually enlightened, he alone is a meditator, and he alone is a man of good nature.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੮॥
Kahu Naanak Jis Bheae Dhaeiaalaa Thaa Ko Man Thae Bisar N Jaaee ||4||8||
कहु नानक जिसु भए दइआला ता कउ मन ते बिसरि न जाई ॥४॥८॥
Says Nanak, one unto whom the Lord becomes Merciful, does not forget the Lord from his mind. ||4||8||

Sagal Samagree Mohi Viaapee Kab Oochae Kab Neechae ||
सगल समग्री मोहि विआपी कब ऊचे कब नीचे ॥
The whole creation is engrossed in emotional attachment; sometimes, one is high, and at other times, low.
ਸੁਧੁ ਨ ਹੋਈਐ ਕਾਹੂ ਜਤਨਾ ਓੜਕਿ ਕੋ ਨ ਪਹੂਚੇ ॥੧॥
Sudhh N Hoeeai Kaahoo Jathanaa Ourrak Ko N Pehoochae ||1||
सुधु न होईऐ काहू जतना ओड़कि को न पहूचे ॥१॥
No one can be purified by any rituals or devices; they cannot reach their goal. ||1||
