ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥
Paramaesar Hoaa Dhaeiaal ||
परमेसरु होआ दइआलु ॥
The Transcendent Lord God has become merciful;
ਮੇਘੁ ਵਰਸੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰ ॥
Maegh Varasai Anmrith Dhhaar ||
मेघु वरसै अम्रित धार ॥
Ambrosial Nectar is raining down from the clouds.
ਸਗਲੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ॥
Sagalae Jeea Janth Thripathaasae ||
सगले जीअ जंत त्रिपतासे ॥
All beings and creatures are satisfied;
ਕਾਰਜ ਆਏ ਪੂਰੇ ਰਾਸੇ ॥੧॥
Kaaraj Aaeae Poorae Raasae ||1||
कारज आए पूरे रासे ॥१॥
Their affairs are perfectly resolved. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Man Naam Samhaal ||
सदा सदा मन नामु सम्हालि ॥
O my mind, dwell on the Lord, forever and ever.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur Poorae Kee Saevaa Paaeiaa Aithhai Outhhai Nibehai Naal ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुर पूरे की सेवा पाइआ ऐथै ओथै निबहै नालि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Serving the Perfect Guru, I have obtained it. It shall stay with me both here and hereafter. ||1||Pause||
ਦੁਖੁ ਭੰਨਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨਹਾਰ ॥
Dhukh Bhannaa Bhai Bhanjanehaar ||
दुखु भंना भै भंजनहार ॥
He is the Destroyer of pain, the Eradicator of fear.
ਆਪਣਿਆ ਜੀਆ ਕੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸਾਰ ॥
Aapaniaa Jeeaa Kee Keethee Saar ||
आपणिआ जीआ की कीती सार ॥
He takes care of His beings.
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਸਦਾ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨ ॥
Raakhanehaar Sadhaa Miharavaan ||
राखनहार सदा मिहरवान ॥
The Savior Lord is kind and compassionate forever.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈਐ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Jaaeeai Kurabaan ||2||
सदा सदा जाईऐ कुरबान ॥२॥
I am a sacrifice to Him, forever and ever. ||2||
ਕਾਲੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਕਰਤੈ ਆਪਿ ॥
Kaal Gavaaeiaa Karathai Aap ||
कालु गवाइआ करतै आपि ॥
The Creator Himself has eliminated death.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਪਿ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Man This No Jaap ||
सदा सदा मन तिस नो जापि ॥
Meditate on Him forever and ever, O my mind.
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸਭਿ ਜੰਤ ॥
Dhrisatt Dhhaar Raakhae Sabh Janth ||
द्रिसटि धारि राखे सभि जंत ॥
He watches all with His Glance of Grace and protects them.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥੩॥
Gun Gaavahu Nith Nith Bhagavanth ||3||
गुण गावहु नित नित भगवंत ॥३॥
Continually and continuously, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord God. ||3||
ਏਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਆਪ ॥
Eaeko Karathaa Aapae Aap ||
एको करता आपे आप ॥
The One and Only Creator Lord is Himself by Himself.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥
Har Kae Bhagath Jaanehi Parathaap ||
हरि के भगत जाणहि परताप ॥
The Lord's devotees know His Glorious Grandeur.
ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
Naavai Kee Paij Rakhadhaa Aaeiaa ||
नावै की पैज रखदा आइआ ॥
He preserves the Honor of His Name.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਬੋਲਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੩॥੨੧॥
Naanak Bolai This Kaa Bolaaeiaa ||4||3||21||
नानकु बोलै तिस का बोलाइआ ॥४॥३॥२१॥
Nanak speaks as the Lord inspires him to speak. ||4||3||21||

ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

गुर सरणाई सगल निधान ॥
All treasures are found in the Sanctuary of the Guru.
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Saachee Dharagehi Paaeeai Maan ||
साची दरगहि पाईऐ मानु ॥
Honor is obtained in the True Court of the Lord.
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
Bhram Bho Dhookh Dharadh Sabh Jaae ||
भ्रमु भउ दूखु दरदु सभु जाइ ॥
Doubt, fear, pain and suffering are taken away,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥

साधसंगि सद हरि गुण गाइ ॥१॥
Forever singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ॥
Man Maerae Gur Pooraa Saalaahi ||
मन मेरे गुरु पूरा सालाहि ॥
O my mind, praise the Perfect Guru.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Naam Nidhhaan Japahu Dhin Raathee Man Chindhae Fal Paae ||1|| Rehaao ||
नामु निधानु जपहु दिनु राती मन चिंदे फल पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Chant the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, day and night. You shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ||1||Pause||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
Sathigur Jaevadd Avar N Koe ||
सतिगुर जेवडु अवरु न कोइ ॥
No one else is as great as the True Guru.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
Gur Paarabreham Paramaesar Soe ||
गुरु पारब्रहमु परमेसरु सोइ ॥
The Guru is the Supreme Lord, the Transcendent Lord God.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੂਖ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
Janam Maran Dhookh Thae Raakhai ||
जनम मरण दूख ते राखै ॥
He saves us from the pains of death and birth,
ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੨॥
Maaeiaa Bikh Fir Bahurr N Chaakhai ||2||
माइआ बिखु फिरि बहुड़ि न चाखै ॥२॥
And we will not have to taste the poison of Maya ever again. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Gur Kee Mehimaa Kathhan N Jaae ||
गुर की महिमा कथनु न जाइ ॥
The Guru's glorious grandeur cannot be described.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥
Gur Paramaesar Saachai Naae ||
गुरु परमेसरु साचै नाइ ॥
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, in the True Name.
ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚੀ ॥
Sach Sanjam Karanee Sabh Saachee ||
सचु संजमु करणी सभु साची ॥
True is His self-discipline, and True are all His actions.
ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੀ ॥੩॥
So Man Niramal Jo Gur Sang Raachee ||3||
सो मनु निरमलु जो गुर संगि राची ॥३॥
Immaculate and pure is that mind, which is imbued with love for the Guru. ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡ ਭਾਗਿ ॥
Gur Pooraa Paaeeai Vadd Bhaag ||
गुरु पूरा पाईऐ वड भागि ॥
The Perfect Guru is obtained by great good fortune.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Lobh Man Thae Thiaag ||
कामु क्रोधु लोभु मन ते तिआगि ॥
Drive out sexual desire, anger and greed from your mind.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸਿ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Gur Charan Nivaas ||
करि किरपा गुर चरण निवासि ॥
By His Grace, the Guru's Feet are enshrined within.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਚੁ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੪॥੨੨॥

गुर मनारि प्रिअ दइआर सिउ रंगु कीआ ॥
Pleasing the Guru, I have fallen in love with my Merciful Beloved Lord.
ਕੀਨੋ ਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
Keeno Ree Sagal Sanaeegaar ||
कीनो री सगल सींगार ॥
I have made all my decorations,
ਤਜਿਓ ਰੀ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
Thajiou Ree Sagal Bikaar ||
तजिओ री सगल बिकार ॥
And renounced all corruption;
ਧਾਵਤੋ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dhhaavatho Asathhir Thheeaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
धावतो असथिरु थीआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
My wandering mind has become steady and stable. ||1||Pause||
ਐਸੇ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧਨ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
Aisae Rae Man Paae Kai Aap Gavaae Kai Kar Saadhhan Sio Sang ||
ऐसे रे मन पाइ कै आपु गवाइ कै करि साधन सिउ संगु ॥
O my mind, lose your self-conceit by associating with the Holy, and you shall find Him.
ਬਾਜੇ ਬਜਹਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਅਨਾਹਦ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਰੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਲੈ ਮਧੁਰ ਬੈਨ ਅਤਿ ਸੁਹੀਆ ॥੧॥
Baajae Bajehi Mridhang Anaahadh Kokil Ree Raam Naam Bolai Madhhur Bain Ath Suheeaa ||1||
बाजे बजहि म्रिदंग अनाहद कोकिल री राम नामु बोलै मधुर बैन अति सुहीआ ॥१॥
The unstruck celestial melody vibrates and resounds; like a song-bird, chant the Lord's Name, with words of sweetness and utter beauty. ||1||
ਐਸੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਭ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਅਮੋਘ ਤੈਸੇ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਤ ਬਨੇ ॥
Aisee Thaerae Dharasan Kee Sobh Ath Apaar Pria Amogh Thaisae Hee Sang Santh Banae ||
ऐसी तेरे दरसन की सोभ अति अपार प्रिअ अमोघ तैसे ही संगि संत बने ॥
Such is the glory of Your Darshan, so utterly inifinte and fruitful, O my Love; so do we become by associating with the Saints.
ਭਵ ਉਤਾਰ ਨਾਮ ਭਨੇ ॥
Bhav Outhaar Naam Bhanae ||
भव उतार नाम भने ॥
Vibrating, chanting Your Name, we cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

They dwell on the Lord, Raam, Raam, chanting on their malas;
