जा कउ सतिगुरु मइआ करेही ॥२॥
When the True Guru shows His Kindness. ||2||
ਅਗਿਆਨ ਭਰਮੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੁਖ ਡੇਰਾ ॥
Agiaan Bharam Binasai Dhukh Ddaeraa ||
अगिआन भरमु बिनसै दुख डेरा ॥
The house of ignorance, doubt and pain is destroyed,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਪੈਰਾ ॥੩॥
Jaa Kai Hridhai Basehi Gur Pairaa ||3||
जा कै ह्रिदै बसहि गुर पैरा ॥३॥
For those within whose hearts the Guru's Feet abide. ||3||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Saadhhasang Rang Prabh Dhhiaaeiaa ||
साधसंगि रंगि प्रभु धिआइआ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, lovingly meditate on God.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪॥

कहु नानक तिनि पूरा पाइआ ॥४॥४॥
Says Nanak, you shall obtain the Perfect Lord. ||4||4||

भगति भगतन हूं बनि आई ॥
Devotion is the natural quality of God's devotees.
ਤਨ ਮਨ ਗਲਤ ਭਏ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਆਪਨ ਲੀਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Than Man Galath Bheae Thaakur Sio Aapan Leeeae Milaaee ||1|| Rehaao ||
तन मन गलत भए ठाकुर सिउ आपन लीए मिलाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Their bodies and minds are blended with their Lord and Master; He unites them with Himself. ||1||Pause||
ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੀ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੀਤ ॥
Gaavanehaaree Gaavai Geeth ||
गावनहारी गावै गीत ॥
The singer sings the songs,
ਤੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਬਸੇ ਜਿਹ ਚੀਤ ॥੧॥
Thae Oudhharae Basae Jih Cheeth ||1||
ते उधरे बसे जिह चीत ॥१॥
But she alone is saved, within whose consciousness the Lord abides. ||1||
ਪੇਖੇ ਬਿੰਜਨ ਪਰੋਸਨਹਾਰੈ ॥
Paekhae Binjan Parosanehaarai ||
पेखे बिंजन परोसनहारै ॥
The one who sets the table sees the food,
ਜਿਹ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਰੈ ॥੨॥
Jih Bhojan Keeno Thae Thripathaarai ||2||
जिह भोजनु कीनो ते त्रिपतारै ॥२॥
But only one who eats the food is satisfied. ||2||
ਅਨਿਕ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗ ਕਾਛੇ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥
Anik Svaang Kaashhae Bhaekhadhhaaree ||
अनिक स्वांग काछे भेखधारी ॥
People disguise themselves with all sorts of costumes,
ਜੈਸੋ ਸਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
Jaiso Saa Thaiso Dhrisattaaree ||3||
जैसो सा तैसो द्रिसटारी ॥३॥
But in the end, they are seen as they truly are. ||3||
ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਵਨ ਸਗਲ ਜੰਜਾਰ ॥
Kehan Kehaavan Sagal Janjaar ||
कहन कहावन सगल जंजार ॥
Speaking and talking are all just entanglements.

Manehi Pragaas Paekh Prabh Kee Sobhaa Jath Kath Paekho Aahiou ||1||
मनहि प्रगासु पेखि प्रभ की सोभा जत कत पेखउ आहिओ ॥१॥
My mind is enlightened, gazing upon the Glory of God. Wherever I look, there He is. ||1||
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਪਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਥਾਹਿਓ ॥੨॥
Sabh Thae Parai Parai Thae Oochaa Gehir Ganbheer Athhaahiou ||2||
सभ ते परै परै ते ऊचा गहिर ग्मभीर अथाहिओ ॥२॥
You are the farthest of all, the highest of the far, profound, unfathomable and unreachable. ||2||
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਜਨ ਸਿਉ ਪਰਦਾ ਲਾਹਿਓ ॥੩॥
Outh Poth Miliou Bhagathan Ko Jan Sio Paradhaa Laahiou ||3||
ओति पोति मिलिओ भगतन कउ जन सिउ परदा लाहिओ ॥३॥
You are united with Your devotees, through and through; You have removed Your veil for Your humble servants. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਸਮਾਹਿਓ ॥੪॥੬॥

गुर प्रसादि गावै गुण नानक सहज समाधि समाहिओ ॥४॥६॥
By Guru's Grace, Nanak sings Your Glorious Praises; he is intuitively absorbed in Samaadhi. ||4||6||

Dharasan Bhaettath Hoth Puneethaa Har Har Manthra Dhrirraaeiou ||1||
दरसन भेटत होत पुनीता हरि हरि मंत्रु द्रिड़ाइओ ॥१॥
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of their Darshan, I am sanctified; they have implanted the Mantra of the Lord, Har, Har, within me. ||1||
ਕਾਟੇ ਰੋਗ ਭਏ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਖਾਇਓ ॥੨॥
Kaattae Rog Bheae Man Niramal Har Har Aoukhadhh Khaaeiou ||2||
काटे रोग भए मन निरमल हरि हरि अउखधु खाइओ ॥२॥
The disease has been eradicated, and my mind has become immaculate. I have taken the healing medicine of the Lord, Har, Har. ||2||
ਅਸਥਿਤ ਭਏ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਧਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
Asathhith Bheae Basae Sukh Thhaanaa Bahur N Kathehoo Dhhaaeiou ||3||
असथित भए बसे सुख थाना बहुरि न कतहू धाइओ ॥३॥
I have become steady and stable, and I dwell in the home of peace. I shall never again wander anywhere. ||3||
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਲੋਗਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਪਤ ਨ ਮਾਇਓ ॥੪॥੭॥

संत प्रसादि तरे कुल लोगा नानक लिपत न माइओ ॥४॥७॥
By the Grace of the Saints, the people and all their generations are saved; O Nanak, they are not engrossed in Maya. ||4||7||

जब ते साधसंगति मोहि पाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Since I found the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੧॥
Naa Ko Bairee Nehee Bigaanaa Sagal Sang Ham Ko Ban Aaee ||1||
ना को बैरी नही बिगाना सगल संगि हम कउ बनि आई ॥१॥
No one is my enemy, and no one is a stranger. I get along with everyone. ||1||
ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਏਹ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥
Jo Prabh Keeno So Bhal Maaniou Eaeh Sumath Saadhhoo Thae Paaee ||2||
जो प्रभ कीनो सो भल मानिओ एह सुमति साधू ते पाई ॥२॥
Whatever God does, I accept that as good. This is the sublime wisdom I have obtained from the Holy. ||2||

सभ महि रवि रहिआ प्रभु एकै पेखि पेखि नानक बिगसाई ॥३॥८॥
The One God is pervading in all. Gazing upon Him, beholding Him, Nanak blossoms forth in happiness. ||3||8||

तुम्हरी आस भरोसा तुम्हरा तुमरा नामु रिदै लै धरना ॥
You are my Hope, and You are my Faith. I take Your Name and enshrine it within my heart.
ਤੁਮਰੋ ਬਲੁ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਜੋ ਜੋ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
Thumaro Bal Thum Sang Suhaelae Jo Jo Kehahu Soee Soee Karanaa ||1||
तुमरो बलु तुम संगि सुहेले जो जो कहहु सोई सोई करना ॥१॥
You are my Power; associating with You, I am embellished and exalted. I do whatever You say. ||1||
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਤ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਨਾ ॥
Thumaree Dhaeiaa Maeiaa Sukh Paavo Hohu Kirapaal Th Bhoujal Tharanaa ||
तुमरी दइआ मइआ सुखु पावउ होहु क्रिपाल त भउजलु तरना ॥
Through Your Kindness and Compassion, I find peace; when You are Merciful, I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.
ਅਭੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਿਰੁ ਡਾਰਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੨॥੯॥
Abhai Dhaan Naam Har Paaeiou Sir Ddaariou Naanak Santh Charanaa ||2||9||
अभै दानु नामु हरि पाइओ सिरु डारिओ नानक संत चरना ॥२॥९॥
Through the Name of the Lord, I obtain the gift of fearlessness; Nanak places his head on the feet of the Saints. ||2||9||
