Dhojak Paaeae Sirajanehaarai Laekhaa Mangai Baaneeaa ||2||
दोजकि पाए सिरजणहारै लेखा मंगै बाणीआ ॥२॥
They are consigned to hell by the Creator Lord, and the Accountant calls them to give their account. ||2||
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਭਈਆ ਬੇਬਾ ॥
Sang N Koee Bheeaa Baebaa ||
संगि न कोई भईआ बेबा ॥
No brothers or sisters can go with them.
ਮਾਲੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਵਞੇਸਾ ॥
Maal Joban Dhhan Shhodd Vanjaesaa ||
मालु जोबनु धनु छोडि वञेसा ॥
Leaving behind their property, youth and wealth, they march off.
ਕਰਣ ਕਰੀਮ ਨ ਜਾਤੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਤਿਲ ਪੀੜੇ ਜਿਉ ਘਾਣੀਆ ॥੩॥
Karan Kareem N Jaatho Karathaa Thil Peerrae Jio Ghaaneeaa ||3||
करण करीम न जातो करता तिल पीड़े जिउ घाणीआ ॥३॥
They do not know the kind and compassionate Lord; they shall be crushed like sesame seeds in the oil-press. ||3||
ਖੁਸਿ ਖੁਸਿ ਲੈਦਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ॥
Khus Khus Laidhaa Vasath Paraaee ||
खुसि खुसि लैदा वसतु पराई ॥
You happily, cheerfully steal the possessions of others,
ਵੇਖੈ ਸੁਣੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਖੁਦਾਈ ॥
Vaekhai Sunae Thaerai Naal Khudhaaee ||
वेखै सुणे तेरै नालि खुदाई ॥
But the Lord God is with you, watching and listening.
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਲਬਿ ਪਇਆ ਖਾਤ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਅਗਲੀ ਗਲ ਨ ਜਾਣੀਆ ॥੪॥
Dhuneeaa Lab Paeiaa Khaath Andhar Agalee Gal N Jaaneeaa ||4||
दुनीआ लबि पइआ खात अंदरि अगली गल न जाणीआ ॥४॥
Through worldly greed, you have fallen into the pit; you know nothing of the future. ||4||
ਜਮਿ ਜਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਰੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ॥
Jam Jam Marai Marai Fir Janmai ||
जमि जमि मरै मरै फिरि जमै ॥
You shall be born and born again, and die and die again, only to be reincarnated again.
ਬਹੁਤੁ ਸਜਾਇ ਪਇਆ ਦੇਸਿ ਲੰਮੈ ॥
Bahuth Sajaae Paeiaa Dhaes Lanmai ||
बहुतु सजाइ पइआ देसि लमै ॥
You shall suffer terrible punishment, on your way to the land beyond.
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਅੰਧਾ ਤਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹੈ ਪਰਾਣੀਆ ॥੫॥
Jin Keethaa Thisai N Jaanee Andhhaa Thaa Dhukh Sehai Paraaneeaa ||5||
जिनि कीता तिसै न जाणी अंधा ता दुखु सहै पराणीआ ॥५॥
The mortal does not know the One who created him; he is blind, and so he shall suffer. ||5||
ਖਾਲਕ ਥਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਮੁਠਾ ॥
Khaalak Thhaavahu Bhulaa Muthaa ||
खालक थावहु भुला मुठा ॥
Forgetting the Creator Lord, he is ruined.
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਖੇਲੁ ਬੁਰਾ ਰੁਠ ਤੁਠਾ ॥
Dhuneeaa Khael Buraa Ruth Thuthaa ||
दुनीआ खेलु बुरा रुठ तुठा ॥
The drama of the world is bad; it brings sadness and then happiness.
ਸਿਦਕੁ ਸਬੂਰੀ ਸੰਤੁ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਵਤੈ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥੬॥
Sidhak Sabooree Santh N Miliou Vathai Aapan Bhaaneeaa ||6||
सिदकु सबूरी संतु न मिलिओ वतै आपण भाणीआ ॥६॥
One who does not meet the Saint does not have faith or contentment; he wanders just as he pleases. ||6||
ਮਉਲਾ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਆਪੇ ॥
Moulaa Khael Karae Sabh Aapae ||
मउला खेल करे सभि आपे ॥
The Lord Himself stages all this drama.
ਇਕਿ ਕਢੇ ਇਕਿ ਲਹਰਿ ਵਿਆਪੇ ॥
Eik Kadtae Eik Lehar Viaapae ||
इकि कढे इकि लहरि विआपे ॥
Some, he lifts up, and some he throws into the waves.
ਜਿਉ ਨਚਾਏ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਨਚਨਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਿਰਤ ਵਿਹਾਣੀਆ ॥੭॥
Jio Nachaaeae Thio Thio Nachan Sir Sir Kirath Vihaaneeaa ||7||
जिउ नचाए तिउ तिउ नचनि सिरि सिरि किरत विहाणीआ ॥७॥
As He makes them dance, so do they dance. Everyone lives their lives according to their past actions. ||7||
ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
Mihar Karae Thaa Khasam Dhhiaaee ||
मिहर करे ता खसमु धिआई ॥
When the Lord and Master grants His Grace, then we meditate on Him.
ਸੰਤਾ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
Santhaa Sangath Narak N Paaee ||
संता संगति नरकि न पाई ॥
In the Society of the Saints, one is not consigned to hell.

The True Lord is True; there is no other at all.

He who created, shall in the end destroy.

जिउ भावै तिउ राखहु रहणा तुम सिउ किआ मुकराई हे ॥१॥
As it pleases You, so You keep me, and so I remain; what excuse could I offer to You? ||1||

आपि उपाए आपि खपाए ॥
You Yourself create, and You Yourself destroy.

Aapae Sir Sir Dhhandhhai Laaeae ||
आपे सिरि सिरि धंधै लाए ॥
You yourself link each and every person to their tasks.
ਆਪੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
Aapae Veechaaree Gunakaaree Aapae Maarag Laaee Hae ||2||
आपे वीचारी गुणकारी आपे मारगि लाई हे ॥२॥
You contemplate Yourself, You Yourself make us worthy; You Yourself place us on the Path. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਦਾਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਬੀਨਾ ॥
Aapae Dhaanaa Aapae Beenaa ||
आपे दाना आपे बीना ॥
You Yourself are all-wise, You Yourself are all-knowing.
ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਪਤੀਨਾ ॥
Aapae Aap Oupaae Patheenaa ||
आपे आपु उपाइ पतीना ॥
You Yourself created the Universe, and You are pleased.
ਆਪੇ ਪਉਣੁ ਪਾਣੀ ਬੈਸੰਤਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
Aapae Poun Paanee Baisanthar Aapae Mael Milaaee Hae ||3||
आपे पउणु पाणी बैसंतरु आपे मेलि मिलाई हे ॥३॥
You Yourself are the air, water and fire; You Yourself unite in Union. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਸਸਿ ਸੂਰਾ ਪੂਰੋ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
Aapae Sas Sooraa Pooro Pooraa ||
आपे ससि सूरा पूरो पूरा ॥
You Yourself are the moon, the sun, the most perfect of the perfect.
ਆਪੇ ਗਿਆਨਿ ਧਿਆਨਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੂਰਾ ॥
Aapae Giaan Dhhiaan Gur Sooraa ||
आपे गिआनि धिआनि गुरु सूरा ॥
You Yourself are spiritual wisdom, meditation, and the Guru, the Warrior Hero.
ਕਾਲੁ ਜਾਲੁ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
Kaal Jaal Jam Johi N Saakai Saachae Sio Liv Laaee Hae ||4||
कालु जालु जमु जोहि न साकै साचे सिउ लिव लाई हे ॥४॥
The Messenger of Death, and his noose of death, cannot touch one, who is lovingly focused on You, O True Lord. ||4||
ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
Aapae Purakh Aapae Hee Naaree ||
आपे पुरखु आपे ही नारी ॥
You Yourself are the male, and You Yourself are the female.
ਆਪੇ ਪਾਸਾ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
Aapae Paasaa Aapae Saaree ||
आपे पासा आपे सारी ॥
You Yourself are the chess-board, and You Yourself are the chessman.
ਆਪੇ ਪਿੜ ਬਾਧੀ ਜਗੁ ਖੇਲੈ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
Aapae Pirr Baadhhee Jag Khaelai Aapae Keemath Paaee Hae ||5||
आपे पिड़ बाधी जगु खेलै आपे कीमति पाई हे ॥५॥
You Yourself staged the drama in the arena of the world, and You Yourself evaluate the players. ||5||
ਆਪੇ ਭਵਰੁ ਫੁਲੁ ਫਲੁ ਤਰਵਰੁ ॥
Aapae Bhavar Ful Fal Tharavar ||
आपे भवरु फुलु फलु तरवरु ॥
You Yourself are the bumble bee, the flower, the fruit and the tree.
ਆਪੇ ਜਲੁ ਥਲੁ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਸਰਵਰੁ ॥
Aapae Jal Thhal Saagar Saravar ||
आपे जलु थलु सागरु सरवरु ॥
You Yourself are the water, the desert, the ocean and the pool.
ਆਪੇ ਮਛੁ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਣੀਕਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਲਖਣਾ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
Aapae Mashh Kashh Karaneekar Thaeraa Roop N Lakhanaa Jaaee Hae ||6||
आपे मछु कछु करणीकरु तेरा रूपु न लखणा जाई हे ॥६॥
You Yourself are the great fish, the tortoise, the Cause of causes; Your form cannot be known. ||6||
ਆਪੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਰੈਣੀ ॥
Aapae Dhinas Aapae Hee Rainee ||
आपे दिनसु आपे ही रैणी ॥
You Yourself are the day, and You Yourself are the night.
ਆਪਿ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬੈਣੀ ॥
Aap Patheejai Gur Kee Bainee ||
आपि पतीजै गुर की बैणी ॥
You Yourself are pleased by the Word of the Guru's Bani.
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਅਨਾਹਦਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
Aadh Jugaadh Anaahadh Anadhin Ghatt Ghatt Sabadh Rajaaee Hae ||7||
आदि जुगादि अनाहदि अनदिनु घटि घटि सबदु रजाई हे ॥७॥
From the very beginning, and throughout the ages, the unstruck sound current resounds, night and day; in each and every heart, the Word of the Shabad, echoes Your Will. ||7||
