ਕਿਤੀ ਚਖਉ ਸਾਡੜੇ ਕਿਤੀ ਵੇਸ ਕਰੇਉ ॥

किती चखउ साडड़े किती वेस करेउ ॥
I have tasted many flavors, and worn many robes,
ਪਿਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ਗਇਅਮੁ ਵਾਢੀ ਝੂਰੇਦੀ ਝੂਰੇਉ ॥੫॥
Pir Bin Joban Baadh Gaeiam Vaadtee Jhooraedhee Jhooraeo ||5||
पिर बिनु जोबनु बादि गइअमु वाढी झूरेदी झूरेउ ॥५॥
But without my Husband Lord, my youth is slipping away uselessly; I am separated from Him, and I cry out in pain. ||5||
ਸਚੇ ਸੰਦਾ ਸਦੜਾ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
Sachae Sandhaa Sadharraa Suneeai Gur Veechaar ||
सचे संदा सदड़ा सुणीऐ गुर वीचारि ॥
I have heard the True Lord's message, contemplating the Guru.
ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਬੈਹਣਾ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੬॥
Sachae Sachaa Baihanaa Nadharee Nadhar Piaar ||6||
सचे सचा बैहणा नदरी नदरि पिआरि ॥६॥
True is the home of the True Lord; by His Gracious Grace, I love Him. ||6||
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਸਚ ਕਾ ਡੇਖੈ ਡੇਖਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
Giaanee Anjan Sach Kaa Ddaekhai Ddaekhanehaar ||
गिआनी अंजनु सच का डेखै डेखणहारु ॥
The spiritual teacher applies the ointment of Truth to his eyes, and sees God, the Seer.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥੭॥
Guramukh Boojhai Jaaneeai Houmai Garab Nivaar ||7||
गुरमुखि बूझै जाणीऐ हउमै गरबु निवारि ॥७॥
The Gurmukh comes to know and understand; ego and pride are subdued. ||7||
ਤਉ ਭਾਵਨਿ ਤਉ ਜੇਹੀਆ ਮੂ ਜੇਹੀਆ ਕਿਤੀਆਹ ॥
Tho Bhaavan Tho Jaeheeaa Moo Jaeheeaa Kitheeaah ||
तउ भावनि तउ जेहीआ मू जेहीआ कितीआह ॥
O Lord, You are pleased with those who are like Yourself; there are many more like me.

ਨਾ ਭੈਣਾ ਭਰਜਾਈਆ ਨਾ ਸੇ ਸਸੁੜੀਆਹ ॥
Naa Bhainaa Bharajaaeeaa Naa Sae Sasurreeaah ||
ना भैणा भरजाईआ ना से ससुड़ीआह ॥
Neither the sisters, nor the sisters-in-law, nor the mothers-in-law, shall remain.
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਕੁ ਨ ਤੁਟਈ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਹੀਆਹ ॥੧॥

सचा साकु न तुटई गुरु मेले सहीआह ॥१॥
The true relationship with the Lord cannot be broken; it was established by the Lord, O sister soul-brides. ||1||

बलिहारी गुर आपणे सद बलिहारै जाउ ॥
I am a sacrifice to my Guru; I am forever a sacrifice to Him.
ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਏਤਾ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੀ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਮੇਲਿਮੁ ਦਿਤਮੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Gur Bin Eaethaa Bhav Thhakee Gur Pir Maelim Dhitham Milaae ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुर बिनु एता भवि थकी गुरि पिरु मेलिमु दितमु मिलाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Wandering so far without the Guru, I grew weary; now, the Guru has united me in Union with my Husband Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਫੁਫੀ ਨਾਨੀ ਮਾਸੀਆ ਦੇਰ ਜੇਠਾਨੜੀਆਹ ॥
Fufee Naanee Maaseeaa Dhaer Jaethaanarreeaah ||
फुफी नानी मासीआ देर जेठानड़ीआह ॥
Aunts, uncles, grandparents and sisters-in-law
ਆਵਨਿ ਵੰਞਨਿ ਨਾ ਰਹਨਿ ਪੂਰ ਭਰੇ ਪਹੀਆਹ ॥੨॥
Aavan Vannjan Naa Rehan Poor Bharae Peheeaah ||2||
आवनि वंञनि ना रहनि पूर भरे पहीआह ॥२॥
- they all come and go; they cannot remain. They are like boatloads of passengers embarking. ||2||
ਮਾਮੇ ਤੈ ਮਾਮਾਣੀਆ ਭਾਇਰ ਬਾਪ ਨ ਮਾਉ ॥
Maamae Thai Maamaaneeaa Bhaaeir Baap N Maao ||
मामे तै मामाणीआ भाइर बाप न माउ ॥
Uncles, aunts, and cousins of all sorts, cannot remain.
ਸਾਥ ਲਡੇ ਤਿਨ ਨਾਠੀਆ ਭੀੜ ਘਣੀ ਦਰੀਆਉ ॥੩॥
Saathh Laddae Thin Naatheeaa Bheerr Ghanee Dhareeaao ||3||
साथ लडे तिन नाठीआ भीड़ घणी दरीआउ ॥३॥
The caravans are full, and great crowds of them are loading up at the riverbank. ||3||
ਸਾਚਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਾਵਲੋ ਸਖੀ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਕੰਤੁ ॥
Saacho Rang Rangaavalo Sakhee Hamaaro Kanth ||
साचउ रंगि रंगावलो सखी हमारो कंतु ॥
O sister-friends, my Husband Lord is dyed in the color of Truth.
ਸਚਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਨਾ ਥੀਐ ਸੋ ਸਹੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਵੰਤੁ ॥੪॥
Sach Vishhorraa Naa Thheeai So Sahu Rang Ravanth ||4||
सचि विछोड़ा ना थीऐ सो सहु रंगि रवंतु ॥४॥
She who lovingly remembers her True Husband Lord is not separated from Him again. ||4||
ਸਭੇ ਰੁਤੀ ਚੰਗੀਆ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ॥
Sabhae Ruthee Changeeaa Jith Sachae Sio Naehu ||
सभे रुती चंगीआ जितु सचे सिउ नेहु ॥
All the seasons are good, in which the soul-bride falls in love with the True Lord.
ਸਾ ਧਨ ਕੰਤੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੁਤੀ ਨਿਸਿ ਡੇਹੁ ॥੫॥
Saa Dhhan Kanth Pashhaaniaa Sukh Suthee Nis Ddaehu ||5||
सा धन कंतु पछाणिआ सुखि सुती निसि डेहु ॥५॥
That soul-bride, who knows her Husband Lord, sleeps in peace, night and day. ||5||
ਪਤਣਿ ਕੂਕੇ ਪਾਤਣੀ ਵੰਞਹੁ ਧ੍ਰੁਕਿ ਵਿਲਾੜਿ ॥
Pathan Kookae Paathanee Vannjahu Dhhraak Vilaarr ||
पतणि कूके पातणी वंञहु ध्रुकि विलाड़ि ॥
At the ferry, the ferryman announces, ""O travellers, hurry up and cross over.""
ਪਾਰਿ ਪਵੰਦੜੇ ਡਿਠੁ ਮੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬੋਹਿਥਿ ਚਾੜਿ ॥੬॥
Paar Pavandharrae Ddith Mai Sathigur Bohithh Chaarr ||6||
पारि पवंदड़े डिठु मै सतिगुर बोहिथि चाड़ि ॥६॥
I have seen them crossing over there, on the boat of the True Guru. ||6||
ਹਿਕਨੀ ਲਦਿਆ ਹਿਕਿ ਲਦਿ ਗਏ ਹਿਕਿ ਭਾਰੇ ਭਰ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
Hikanee Ladhiaa Hik Ladh Geae Hik Bhaarae Bhar Naal ||
हिकनी लदिआ हिकि लदि गए हिकि भारे भर नालि ॥
Some are getting on board, and some have already set out; some are weighed down with their loads.
ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੁ ਵਣੰਜਿਆ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੭॥
Jinee Sach Vananjiaa Sae Sachae Prabh Naal ||7||
जिनी सचु वणंजिआ से सचे प्रभ नालि ॥७॥
Those who deal in Truth, remain with their True Lord God. ||7||
ਨਾ ਹਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਆਖੀਅਹ ਬੁਰਾ ਨ ਦਿਸੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
Naa Ham Changae Aakheeah Buraa N Dhisai Koe ||
ना हम चंगे आखीअह बुरा न दिसै कोइ ॥
I am not called good, and I see none who are bad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀਐ ਸਚੇ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੮॥੨॥੧੦॥
Naanak Houmai Maareeai Sachae Jaeharraa Soe ||8||2||10||
नानक हउमै मारीऐ सचे जेहड़ा सोइ ॥८॥२॥१०॥
O Nanak, one who conquers and subdues his ego, becomes just like the True Lord. ||8||2||10||

Naa Jaanaa Moorakh Hai Koee Naa Jaanaa Siaanaa ||
ना जाणा मूरखु है कोई ना जाणा सिआणा ॥
I do not believe that anyone is foolish; I do not believe that anyone is clever.
ਸਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੈ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣਾ ॥੧॥
Sadhaa Saahib Kai Rangae Raathaa Anadhin Naam Vakhaanaa ||1||
सदा साहिब कै रंगे राता अनदिनु नामु वखाणा ॥१॥
Imbued forever with the Love of my Lord and Master, I chant His Name, night and day. ||1||
ਬਾਬਾ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਹਾ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
Baabaa Moorakh Haa Naavai Bal Jaao ||
बाबा मूरखु हा नावै बलि जाउ ॥
O Baba, I am so foolish, but I am a sacrifice to the Name.
ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੂ ਦਾਨਾ ਬੀਨਾ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਤਰਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Thoo Karathaa Thoo Dhaanaa Beenaa Thaerai Naam Tharaao ||1|| Rehaao ||
तू करता तू दाना बीना तेरै नामि तराउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You are the Creator, You are wise and all-seeing. Through Your Name, we are carried across. ||1||Pause||
ਮੂਰਖੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਏਕ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਇ ਨਾਉ ॥
Moorakh Siaanaa Eaek Hai Eaek Joth Dhue Naao ||
मूरखु सिआणा एकु है एक जोति दुइ नाउ ॥
The same person is foolish and wise; the same light within has two names.
ਮੂਰਖਾ ਸਿਰਿ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿ ਮੰਨੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਉ ॥੨॥
Moorakhaa Sir Moorakh Hai J Mannae Naahee Naao ||2||
मूरखा सिरि मूरखु है जि मंने नाही नाउ ॥२॥
The most foolish of the foolish are those who do not believe in the Name. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਨਾਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਲੈ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
Gur Dhuaarai Naao Paaeeai Bin Sathigur Palai N Paae ||
गुर दुआरै नाउ पाईऐ बिनु सतिगुर पलै न पाइ ॥
Through the Guru's Gate, the Gurdwara, the Name is obtained. Without the True Guru, it is not received.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੈ ਤਾ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
Sathigur Kai Bhaanai Man Vasai Thaa Ahinis Rehai Liv Laae ||3||
सतिगुर कै भाणै मनि वसै ता अहिनिसि रहै लिव लाइ ॥३॥
Through the Pleasure of the True Guru's Will, the Name comes to dwell in the mind, and then, night and day, one remains lovingly absorbed in the Lord. ||3||
ਰਾਜੰ ਰੰਗੰ ਰੂਪੰ ਮਾਲੰ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਤੇ ਜੂਆਰੀ ॥
Raajan Rangan Roopan Maalan Joban Thae Jooaaree ||
राजं रंगं रूपं मालं जोबनु ते जूआरी ॥
In power, pleasures, beauty, wealth and youth, one gambles his life away.
ਹੁਕਮੀ ਬਾਧੇ ਪਾਸੈ ਖੇਲਹਿ ਚਉਪੜਿ ਏਕਾ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੪॥
Hukamee Baadhhae Paasai Khaelehi Chouparr Eaekaa Saaree ||4||
हुकमी बाधे पासै खेलहि चउपड़ि एका सारी ॥४॥
Bound by the Hukam of God's Command, the dice are thrown; he is just a piece in the game of chess. ||4||
ਜਗਿ ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣਾ ਨਾਉ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੜਹਿ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥
Jag Chathur Siaanaa Bharam Bhulaanaa Naao Panddith Parrehi Gaavaaree ||
जगि चतुरु सिआणा भरमि भुलाणा नाउ पंडित पड़हि गावारी ॥
The world is clever and wise, but it is deluded by doubt, and forgets the Name; the Pandit, the religious scholar, studies the scriptures, but he is still a fool.
ਨਾਉ ਵਿਸਾਰਹਿ ਬੇਦੁ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਭੂਲੇ ਲੇਖਾਰੀ ॥੫॥
Naao Visaarehi Baedh Samaalehi Bikh Bhoolae Laekhaaree ||5||
नाउ विसारहि बेदु समालहि बिखु भूले लेखारी ॥५॥
Forgetting the Name, he dwells upon the Vedas; he writes, but he is confused by his poisonous corruption. ||5||
