ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
Ghatt Ghatt Vas Rehiaa Jagajeevan Dhaathaa ||
घटि घटि वसि रहिआ जगजीवनु दाता ॥
He dwells in each and every heart, the Great Giver, the Life of the world.
ਇਕ ਥੈ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੈ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
Eik Thhai Gupath Paragatt Hai Aapae Guramukh Bhram Bho Jaaee Hae ||15||
इक थै गुपतु परगटु है आपे गुरमुखि भ्रमु भउ जाई हे ॥१५॥
At the same time, He is both hidden and revealed. For the Gurmukh, doubt and fear are dispelled. ||15||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
Guramukh Har Jeeo Eaeko Jaathaa ||
गुरमुखि हरि जीउ एको जाता ॥
The Gurmukh knows the One, the Dear Lord.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
Anthar Naam Sabadh Pashhaathaa ||
अंतरि नामु सबदि पछाता ॥
Deep within the nucleus of his inner being, is the Naam, the Name of the Lord; he realizes the Word of the Shabad.
ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂ ਦੇਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੪॥
Jis Thoo Dhaehi Soee Jan Paaeae Naanak Naam Vaddaaee Hae ||16||4||
जिसु तू देहि सोई जनु पाए नानक नामि वडाई हे ॥१६॥४॥
He alone receives it, unto whom You give it. O Nanak, the Naam is glorious greatness. ||16||4||

सचु सालाही गहिर ग्मभीरै ॥
I praise the true, profound and unfathomable Lord.
ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਕੈ ਚੀਰੈ ॥
Sabh Jag Hai This Hee Kai Cheerai ||
सभु जगु है तिस ही कै चीरै ॥
All the world is in His power.
ਸਭਿ ਘਟ ਭੋਗਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
Sabh Ghatt Bhogavai Sadhaa Dhin Raathee Aapae Sookh Nivaasee Hae ||1||
सभि घट भोगवै सदा दिनु राती आपे सूख निवासी हे ॥१॥
He enjoys all hearts forever, day and night; He Himself dwells in peace. ||1||
ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚੀ ਨਾਈ ॥
Sachaa Saahib Sachee Naaee ||
सचा साहिबु सची नाई ॥
True is the Lord and Master, and True is His Name.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈ ॥
Gur Parasaadhee Mann Vasaaee ||
गुर परसादी मंनि वसाई ॥
By Guru's Grace, I enshrine Him in my mind.
ਆਪੇ ਆਇ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੂਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
Aapae Aae Vasiaa Ghatt Anthar Thoottee Jam Kee Faasee Hae ||2||
आपे आइ वसिआ घट अंतरि तूटी जम की फासी हे ॥२॥
He Himself has come to dwell deep within the nucleus of my heart; the noose of death has been snapped. ||2||
ਕਿਸੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਤੈ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
Kis Saevee Thai Kis Saalaahee ||
किसु सेवी तै किसु सालाही ॥
Whom should I serve, and whom should I praise?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
Sathigur Saevee Sabadh Saalaahee ||
सतिगुरु सेवी सबदि सालाही ॥
I serve the True Guru, and praise the Word of the Shabad.
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
Sachai Sabadh Sadhaa Math Ootham Anthar Kamal Pragaasee Hae ||3||
सचै सबदि सदा मति ऊतम अंतरि कमलु प्रगासी हे ॥३॥
Through the True Shabad, the intellect is exalted and ennobled forever, and the lotus deep within blossoms forth. ||3||
ਦੇਹੀ ਕਾਚੀ ਕਾਗਦ ਮਿਕਦਾਰਾ ॥
Dhaehee Kaachee Kaagadh Mikadhaaraa ||
देही काची कागद मिकदारा ॥
The body is frail and perishable, like paper.
ਬੂੰਦ ਪਵੈ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਢਹਤ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਬਾਰਾ ॥
Boondh Pavai Binasai Dtehath N Laagai Baaraa ||
बूंद पवै बिनसै ढहत न लागै बारा ॥
When the drop of water falls upon it, it crumbles and dissolves instantaneously.
ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
Kanchan Kaaeiaa Guramukh Boojhai Jis Anthar Naam Nivaasee Hae ||4||
कंचन काइआ गुरमुखि बूझै जिसु अंतरि नामु निवासी हे ॥४॥
But the body of the Gurmukh, who understands, is like gold; the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells deep within. ||4||
ਸਚਾ ਚਉਕਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਕੀ ਕਾਰਾ ॥
Sachaa Choukaa Surath Kee Kaaraa ||
सचा चउका सुरति की कारा ॥
Pure is that kitchen, which is enclosed by spiritual awareness.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥
Har Naam Bhojan Sach Aadhhaaraa ||
हरि नामु भोजनु सचु आधारा ॥
The Lord's Name is my food, and Truth is my support.
ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
Sadhaa Thripath Pavithra Hai Paavan Jith Ghatt Har Naam Nivaasee Hae ||5||
सदा त्रिपति पवित्रु है पावनु जितु घटि हरि नामु निवासी हे ॥५॥
Forever satisfied, sanctified and pure is that person, within whose heart the Lord's Name abides. ||5||
ਹਉ ਤਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਚੈ ਲਾਗੇ ॥
Ho Thin Balihaaree Jo Saachai Laagae ||
हउ तिन बलिहारी जो साचै लागे ॥
I am a sacrifice to those who are attached to the Truth.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
Har Gun Gaavehi Anadhin Jaagae ||
हरि गुण गावहि अनदिनु जागे ॥
They sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and remain awake and aware night and day.
ਸਾਚਾ ਸੂਖੁ ਸਦਾ ਤਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
Saachaa Sookh Sadhaa Thin Anthar Rasanaa Har Ras Raasee Hae ||6||
साचा सूखु सदा तिन अंतरि रसना हरि रसि रासी हे ॥६॥
True peace fills them forever, and their tongues savor the sublime essence of the Lord. ||6||
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
Har Naam Chaethaa Avar N Poojaa ||
हरि नामु चेता अवरु न पूजा ॥
I remember the Lord's Name, and no other at all.
ਏਕੋ ਸੇਵੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
Eaeko Saevee Avar N Dhoojaa ||
एको सेवी अवरु न दूजा ॥
I serve the One Lord, and no other at all.
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਸਚੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
Poorai Gur Sabh Sach Dhikhaaeiaa Sachai Naam Nivaasee Hae ||7||
पूरै गुरि सभु सचु दिखाइआ सचै नामि निवासी हे ॥७॥
The Perfect Guru has revealed the whole Truth to me; I dwell in the True Name. ||7||
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
Bhram Bhram Jonee Fir Fir Aaeiaa ||
भ्रमि भ्रमि जोनी फिरि फिरि आइआ ॥
Wandering, wandering in reincarnation, again and again, he comes into the world.
ਆਪਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਜਾ ਖਸਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
Aap Bhoolaa Jaa Khasam Bhulaaeiaa ||
आपि भूला जा खसमि भुलाइआ ॥
He is deluded and confused, when the Lord and Master confuses him.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਚੀਨੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
Har Jeeo Milai Thaa Guramukh Boojhai Cheenai Sabadh Abinaasee Hae ||8||
हरि जीउ मिलै ता गुरमुखि बूझै चीनै सबदु अबिनासी हे ॥८॥
He meets with the Dear Lord, when, as Gurmukh, he understands; he remembers the Shabad, the Word of the immortal, eternal Lord God. ||8||
ਕਾਮਿ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿ ਭਰੇ ਹਮ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Bharae Ham Aparaadhhee ||
कामि क्रोधि भरे हम अपराधी ॥
I am a sinner, overflowing with sexual desire and anger.
ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਲੈ ਬੋਲਹ ਨਾ ਹਮ ਗੁਣ ਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਧੀ ॥
Kiaa Muhu Lai Boleh Naa Ham Gun N Saevaa Saadhhee ||
किआ मुहु लै बोलह ना हम गुण न सेवा साधी ॥
With what mouth should I speak? I have no virtue, and I have rendered no service.
ਡੁਬਦੇ ਪਾਥਰ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
Ddubadhae Paathhar Mael Laihu Thum Aapae Saach Naam Abinaasee Hae ||9||
डुबदे पाथर मेलि लैहु तुम आपे साचु नामु अबिनासी हे ॥९॥
I am a sinking stone; please, Lord, unite me with Yourself. Your Name is eternal and imperishable. ||9||
ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੇ ਨ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗਾ ॥
Naa Koee Karae N Karanai Jogaa ||
ना कोई करे न करणै जोगा ॥
No one does anything; no one is able to do anything.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਕਰਾਵਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਇਗਾ ॥
Aapae Karehi Karaavehi S Hoeigaa ||
आपे करहि करावहि सु होइगा ॥
That alone happens, which the Lord Himself does, and causes to be done.
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
Aapae Bakhas Laihi Sukh Paaeae Sadh Hee Naam Nivaasee Hae ||10||
आपे बखसि लैहि सुखु पाए सद ही नामि निवासी हे ॥१०॥
Those whom He Himself forgives, find peace; they dwell forever in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||10||
ਇਹੁ ਤਨੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਜਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Eihu Than Dhharathee Sabadh Beej Apaaraa ||
इहु तनु धरती सबदु बीजि अपारा ॥
This body is the earth, and the infinite Shabad is the seed.
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੇਤੀ ਵਣਜੁ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ॥
Har Saachae Saethee Vanaj Vaapaaraa ||
हरि साचे सेती वणजु वापारा ॥
Deal and trade with the True Name alone.
ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
Sach Dhhan Janmiaa Thott N Aavai Anthar Naam Nivaasee Hae ||11||
सचु धनु जमिआ तोटि न आवै अंतरि नामु निवासी हे ॥११॥
The True wealth increases; it is never exhausted, when the Naam dwells deep within. ||11||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਅਵਗਣਿਆਰੇ ਨੋ ਗੁਣੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
Har Jeeo Avaganiaarae No Gun Keejai ||
हरि जीउ अवगणिआरे नो गुणु कीजै ॥
O Dear Lord, please bless me, the worthless sinner, with virtue.
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
Aapae Bakhas Laihi Naam Dheejai ||
आपे बखसि लैहि नामु दीजै ॥
Forgive me, and bless me with Your Name.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਇਕਤੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
Guramukh Hovai So Path Paaeae Eikath Naam Nivaasee Hae ||12||
गुरमुखि होवै सो पति पाए इकतु नामि निवासी हे ॥१२॥
One who becomes Gurmukh, is honored; he dwells in the Name of the One Lord alone. ||12||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਮਝ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥
Anthar Har Dhhan Samajh N Hoee ||
अंतरि हरि धनु समझ न होई ॥
The wealth of the Lord is deep within one's inner being, but he does not realize it.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
Gur Parasaadhee Boojhai Koee ||
गुर परसादी बूझै कोई ॥
By Guru's Grace, one comes to understand.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
Guramukh Hovai So Dhhan Paaeae Sadh Hee Naam Nivaasee Hae ||13||
गुरमुखि होवै सो धनु पाए सद ही नामि निवासी हे ॥१३॥
One who becomes Gurmukh is blessed with this wealth; he lives forever in the Naam. ||13||
ਅਨਲ ਵਾਉ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਈ ॥
Anal Vaao Bharam Bhulaaee ||
अनल वाउ भरमि भुलाई ॥
Fire and wind lead him into delusions of doubt.
