Bikhiaa Kaaran Lab Lobh Kamaavehi Dhuramath Kaa Dhoraahaa Hae ||9||
बिखिआ कारणि लबु लोभु कमावहि दुरमति का दोराहा हे ॥९॥
For the sake of poison, they act in greed and possessiveness, and evil-minded duality. ||9||

Man Than Har Raviaa Ghatt Anthar Man Bheenai Bhagath Salaahaa Hae ||10||
मनि तनि हरि रविआ घट अंतरि मनि भीनै भगति सलाहा हे ॥१०॥
The Lord pervades his mind, body and heart; deep within, his mind is drenched with devotional worship and praise of the Lord. ||10||

My True Lord God is forever True. He is the Emperor over the heads of kings. ||11||

Dhar Keerathan Karehi Gur Sabadh Suhaaeae ||
दरि कीरतनु करहि गुर सबदि सुहाए ॥
They sing the Kirtan of His Praises at His Door; they are embellished and exalted by the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵੇਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
Saachee Baanee Anadhin Gaavehi Niradhhan Kaa Naam Vaesaahaa Hae ||12||
साची बाणी अनदिनु गावहि निरधन का नामु वेसाहा हे ॥१२॥
Night and day, they sing the True Word of His Bani. The Naam is the wealth of the poor. ||12||
ਜਿਨ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਵਿਛੋੜਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Jin Aapae Mael Vishhorrehi Naahee ||
जिन आपे मेलि विछोड़हि नाही ॥
Those whom You unite, Lord, are never separated again.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥

गुर कै सबदि सदा सालाही ॥

सभना सिरि तू एको साहिबु सबदे नामु सलाहा हे ॥१३॥
You are the One Lord and Master over all. Through the Shabad, the Naam is praised. ||13||
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਤੁਧੁਨੋ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥

बिनु सबदै तुधुनो कोई न जाणी ॥
Without the Shabad, no one knows You.

तुधु आपे कथी अकथ कहाणी ॥

आपे सबदु सदा गुरु दाता हरि नामु जपि स्मबाहा हे ॥१४॥
You Yourself are the Shabad forever, the Guru, the Great Giver; chanting the Lord's Name, You bestow Your treasure. ||14||

तू आपे करता सिरजणहारा ॥
You Yourself are the Creator of the Universe.

तेरा लिखिआ कोइ न मेटणहारा ॥
No one can erase what You have written.

Guramukh Naam Dhaevehi Thoo Aapae Sehasaa Ganath N Thaahaa Hae ||15||
गुरमुखि नामु देवहि तू आपे सहसा गणत न ताहा हे ॥१५॥
You Yourself bless the Gurmukh with the Naam, who is no longer skeptical, and is not held to account. ||15||

भगत सचे तेरै दरवारे ॥
Your true devotees stand at the Door of Your Court.
ਸਬਦੇ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Sabadhae Saevan Bhaae Piaarae ||
सबदे सेवनि भाइ पिआरे ॥
They serve the Shabad with love and affection.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਾਮੇ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੩॥੧੨॥

कोइ न किस ही जेहा उपाइआ ॥
He has created no one like anyone else.

आपे फरकु करे वेखि विगसै सभि रस देही माहा हे ॥१॥
He made them different, and he gazes upon them with pleasure; he placed all the flavors in the body. ||1||
ਵਾਜੈ ਪਉਣੁ ਤੈ ਆਪਿ ਵਜਾਏ ॥

वाजै पउणु तै आपि वजाए ॥
You Yourself vibrate the beat of the breath.
ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਦੇਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
Siv Sakathee Dhaehee Mehi Paaeae ||
सिव सकती देही महि पाए ॥
Shiva and Shakti, energy and matter - You have placed them into the body.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਉਲਟੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
Gur Parasaadhee Oulattee Hovai Giaan Rathan Sabadh Thaahaa Hae ||2||
गुर परसादी उलटी होवै गिआन रतनु सबदु ताहा हे ॥२॥
By Guru's Grace, one turns away from the world, and attains the jewel of spiritual wisdom, and the Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਆਪੇ ਕੀਆ ॥
Andhhaeraa Chaanan Aapae Keeaa ||
अंधेरा चानणु आपे कीआ ॥
He Himself created darkness and light.
ਏਕੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਬੀਆ ॥
Eaeko Varathai Avar N Beeaa ||
एको वरतै अवरु न बीआ ॥
He alone is pervasive; there is no other at all.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਬੁਧਿ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੩॥

गुर परसादी आपु पछाणै कमलु बिगसै बुधि ताहा हे ॥३॥
One who realizes his own self - by Guru's Grace, the lotus of his mind blossoms forth. ||3||
ਅਪਣੀ ਗਹਣ ਗਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
Apanee Gehan Gath Aapae Jaanai ||
अपणी गहण गति आपे जाणै ॥
Only He Himself knows His depth and extent.
ਹੋਰੁ ਲੋਕੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
Hor Lok Sun Sun Aakh Vakhaanai ||
होरु लोकु सुणि सुणि आखि वखाणै ॥
Other people can only listen and hear what is spoken and said.
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਲਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
Giaanee Hovai S Guramukh Boojhai Saachee Sifath Salaahaa Hae ||4||
गिआनी होवै सु गुरमुखि बूझै साची सिफति सलाहा हे ॥४॥
One who is spiritually wise, understands himself as Gurmukh; he praises the True Lord. ||4||
ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Dhaehee Andhar Vasath Apaaraa ||
देही अंदरि वसतु अपारा ॥
Deep within the body is the priceless object.
ਆਪੇ ਕਪਟ ਖੁਲਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
Aapae Kapatt Khulaavanehaaraa ||
आपे कपट खुलावणहारा ॥
He Himself opens the doors.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
Guramukh Sehajae Anmrith Peevai Thrisanaa Agan Bujhaahaa Hae ||5||
गुरमुखि सहजे अम्रितु पीवै त्रिसना अगनि बुझाहा हे ॥५॥
The Gurmukh intuitively drings in the Ambrosial Nectar, and the fire of desire is quenched. ||5||
ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
Sabh Ras Dhaehee Andhar Paaeae ||
सभि रस देही अंदरि पाए ॥
He placed all the flavors within the body.
ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
Viralae Ko Gur Sabadh Bujhaaeae ||
विरले कउ गुरु सबदु बुझाए ॥
How rare are those who understand, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਅੰਦਰੁ ਖੋਜੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਜਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
Andhar Khojae Sabadh Saalaahae Baahar Kaahae Jaahaa Hae ||6||
अंदरु खोजे सबदु सालाहे बाहरि काहे जाहा हे ॥६॥
So search within yourself, and praise the Shabad. Why run around outside your self? ||6||
ਵਿਣੁ ਚਾਖੇ ਸਾਦੁ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥

विणु चाखे सादु किसै न आइआ ॥
Without tasting, no one enjoys the flavor.

गुर कै सबदि अम्रितु पीआइआ ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਹੋਏ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਸੁ ਤਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
Anmrith Pee Amaraa Padh Hoeae Gur Kai Sabadh Ras Thaahaa Hae ||7||
अम्रितु पी अमरा पदु होए गुर कै सबदि रसु ताहा हे ॥७॥
The Ambrosial Nectar is drunk, and the immoral status is obtained, when one obtains the sublime essence of the Guru's Shabad. ||7||
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਸੋ ਸਭਿ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
Aap Pashhaanai So Sabh Gun Jaanai ||
आपु पछाणै सो सभि गुण जाणै ॥
One who realizes himself, knows all virtues.
