जउ गुरदेउ कंधु नही हिरै ॥
When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the wall of the body is not eroded.

जउ गुरदेउ देहुरा फिरै ॥

When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one has bathed at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

जउ गुरदेउ तनि चक्र लगाइआ ॥

Without seeing something, the yearning for it does not arise.
ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ਬਿਨਾਸਾ ॥
Jo Dheesai So Hoe Binaasaa ||
जो दीसै सो होइ बिनासा ॥
Whatever is seen, shall pass away.
ਬਰਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਜੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥

बरन सहित जो जापै नामु ॥
Whoever chants and praises the Naam, the Name of the Lord,
ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਿਹਕਾਮੁ ॥੧॥

सो जोगी केवल निहकामु ॥१॥
Is the true Yogi, free of desire. ||1||
ਪਰਚੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵੈ ਜਉ ਕੋਈ ॥

परचै रामु रवै जउ कोई ॥
When someone utters the Name of the Lord with love,
ਪਾਰਸੁ ਪਰਸੈ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

पारसु परसै दुबिधा न होई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
It is as if he has touched the philosopher's stone; his sense of duality is eradicated. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਖਾਇ ॥
So Mun Man Kee Dhubidhhaa Khaae ||
सो मुनि मन की दुबिधा खाइ ॥
He alone is a silent sage, who destroys the duality of his mind.
ਬਿਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਸਮਾਇ ॥

बिनु दुआरे त्रै लोक समाइ ॥
Keeping the doors of his body closed, he merges in the Lord of the three worlds.
ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਕਰੈ ॥

मन का सुभाउ सभु कोई करै ॥
Everyone acts according to the inclinations of the mind.
ਕਰਤਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਅਨਭੈ ਰਹੈ ॥੨॥
Karathaa Hoe S Anabhai Rehai ||2||
करता होइ सु अनभै रहै ॥२॥
Attuned to the Creator Lord, one remains free of fear. ||2||
ਫਲ ਕਾਰਨ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
Fal Kaaran Foolee Banaraae ||
फल कारन फूली बनराइ ॥
Plants blossom forth to produce fruit.
ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੁ ਬਿਲਾਇ ॥
Fal Laagaa Thab Fool Bilaae ||
फलु लागा तब फूलु बिलाइ ॥
When the fruit is produced, the flowers wither away.
ਗਿਆਨੈ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਮ ਅਭਿਆਸੁ ॥
Giaanai Kaaran Karam Abhiaas ||
गिआनै कारन करम अभिआसु ॥
For the sake of spiritual wisdom, people act and practice rituals.
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਹ ਕਰਮਹ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੩॥

गिआनु भइआ तह करमह नासु ॥३॥
When spiritual wisdom wells up, then actions are left behind. ||3||
ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਰਨ ਦਧਿ ਮਥੈ ਸਇਆਨ ॥
Ghrith Kaaran Dhadhh Mathhai Saeiaan ||
घ्रित कारन दधि मथै सइआन ॥
For the sake of ghee, wise people churn milk.
ਜੀਵਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਬਾਨ ॥
Jeevath Mukath Sadhaa Nirabaan ||
जीवत मुकत सदा निरबान ॥
Those who are Jivan-mukta, liberated while yet alive - are forever in the state of Nirvaanaa.

छपन कोटि का पेहनु तेरा सोलह सहस इजारा ॥
The fifty-six million clouds are Your gowns, the 16,000 milkmaids are your skirts.
