नदरि करे चूकै अभिमानु ॥
When the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, egotism is eradicated.
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Saachee Dharageh Paavai Maan ||
साची दरगह पावै मानु ॥
Then, the mortal is honored in the Court of the True Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
Har Jeeo Vaekhai Sadh Hajoor ||
हरि जीउ वेखै सद हजूरि ॥
He sees the Dear Lord always close at hand, ever-present.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੩॥

गुर कै सबदि रहिआ भरपूरि ॥३॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he sees the Lord pervading and permeating all. ||3||

The Lord cherishes all beings and creatures.

गुर परसादी सद सम्हाल ॥
By Guru's Grace, contemplate Him forever.

Dhar Saachai Path Sio Ghar Jaae ||
दरि साचै पति सिउ घरि जाइ ॥
You shall go to your true home in the Lord's Court with honor.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥

अंतरि पूजा मन ते होइ ॥
One who worships the Lord within his mind,
ਏਕੋ ਵੇਖੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
Eaeko Vaekhai Aour N Koe ||
एको वेखै अउरु न कोइ ॥
Sees the One and Only Lord, and no other.
ਦੂਜੈ ਲੋਕੀ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Dhoojai Lokee Bahuth Dhukh Paaeiaa ||
दूजै लोकी बहुतु दुखु पाइआ ॥
People in duality suffer terrible pain.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮੈਨੋ ਏਕੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

मेरा प्रभु मउलिआ सद बसंतु ॥
My God is in bloom, forever in spring.

ਗੁਰ ਪੂਛਹੁ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕਰਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥

गुर पूछहु तुम्ह करहु बीचारु ॥
So consult the Guru, and reflect upon His wisdom;
ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ਲਗੈ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
Thaan Prabh Saachae Lagai Piaar ||
तां प्रभ साचे लगै पिआरु ॥
Then, you shall be in love with the True Lord God.
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਦਾਸਤ ਭਾਇ ॥
Aap Shhodd Hohi Dhaasath Bhaae ||
आपु छोडि होहि दासत भाइ ॥
Abandon your self-conceit, and be His loving servant.
ਤਉ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
Tho Jagajeevan Vasai Man Aae ||2||
तउ जगजीवनु वसै मनि आइ ॥२॥
Then, the Life of the World shall come to dwell in your mind. ||2||
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਵੇਖੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥

भगति करे सद वेखै हजूरि ॥
Worship Him with devotion, and see Him always ever-present, close at hand.

मेरा प्रभु सद रहिआ भरपूरि ॥
My God is forever permeating and pervading all.
ਇਸੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
Eis Bhagathee Kaa Koee Jaanai Bhaeo ||
इसु भगती का कोई जाणै भेउ ॥
Only a rare few know the mystery of this devotional worship.

My God is the Enlightener of all souls. ||3||

आपे सतिगुरु मेलि मिलाए ॥
The True Guru Himself unites us in His Union.
ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਸਿਉ ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
Jagajeevan Sio Aap Chith Laaeae ||
जगजीवन सिउ आपि चितु लाए ॥
He Himself links our consciousness to the Lord, the Life of the World.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥
Man Than Hariaa Sehaj Subhaaeae ||
मनु तनु हरिआ सहजि सुभाए ॥
Thus, our minds and bodies are rejuvenated with intuitive ease.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥

नानक नामि रहे लिव लाए ॥४॥४॥

The Lord is the Lover of His devotees; He dwells within their minds,
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥

गुर किरपा ते सहज सुभाइ ॥
By Guru's Grace, with intuitive ease.
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਖੋਇ ॥

भगति करे विचहु आपु खोइ ॥
Through devotional worship, self-conceit is eradicated from within,
ਤਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥
Thadh Hee Saach Milaavaa Hoe ||1||
तद ही साचि मिलावा होइ ॥१॥
And then, one meets the True Lord. ||1||
ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
Bhagath Sohehi Sadhaa Har Prabh Dhuaar ||
भगत सोहहि सदा हरि प्रभ दुआरि ॥
His devotees are forever beauteous at the Door of the Lord God.

भगति करे सो जनु निरमलु होइ ॥
That humble being who worships the Lord with devotion becomes immaculate and pure.

गुर सबदी विचहु हउमै खोइ ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, egotism is eradicated from within.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
Har Jeeo Aap Vasai Man Aae ||
हरि जीउ आपि वसै मनि आइ ॥
The Dear Lord Himself comes to dwell within the mind,
ਸਦਾ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੨॥
Sadhaa Saanth Sukh Sehaj Samaae ||2||
सदा सांति सुखि सहजि समाइ ॥२॥
And the mortal remains immersed in peace, tranquility and intuitive ease. ||2||
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤ ॥

साचि रते तिन सद बसंत ॥
Those who are imbued with Truth, are forever in the bloom of spring.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਰਵਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੁਵਿੰਦ ॥

मनु तनु हरिआ रवि गुण गुविंद ॥
Their minds and bodies are rejuvenated, uttering the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੂਕਾ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
Bin Naavai Sookaa Sansaar ||
बिनु नावै सूका संसारु ॥
Without the Lord's Name, the world is dry and parched.
ਅਗਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੩॥
Agan Thrisanaa Jalai Vaaro Vaar ||3||
अगनि त्रिसना जलै वारो वार ॥३॥
It burns in the fire of desire, over and over again. ||3||
ਸੋਈ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
Soee Karae J Har Jeeo Bhaavai ||
सोई करे जि हरि जीउ भावै ॥
One who does only that which is pleasing to the Dear Lord
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਭਾਣੈ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
Sadhaa Sukh Sareer Bhaanai Chith Laavai ||
सदा सुखु सरीरि भाणै चितु लावै ॥
- his body is forever at peace, and his consciousness is attached to the Lord's Will.
ਅਪਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
Apanaa Prabh Saevae Sehaj Subhaae ||
अपणा प्रभु सेवे सहजि सुभाइ ॥
He serves His God with intuitive ease.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੪॥੫॥

The mind and body are rejuvenated by the Love of the True Guru.

सफलिओ बिरखु हरि कै दुआरि ॥
The tree bears fruit at the Lord's Door,

He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away.

The plants have blossomed forth, giving a dense shade.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੨॥
Guramukh Bigasai Sehaj Subhaae ||2||
गुरमुखि बिगसै सहजि सुभाइ ॥२॥
The Gurmukh blossoms forth, with intuitive ease. ||2||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
Anadhin Keerathan Karehi Dhin Raath ||
अनदिनु कीरतनु करहि दिन राति ॥
Night and day, he sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜੂਠਿ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥
Sathigur Gavaaee Vichahu Jooth Bharaanth ||
सतिगुरि गवाई विचहु जूठि भरांति ॥
