गुरि संगि दिखाइओ राम राइ ॥१॥
The Guru has shown me that my Sovereign Lord God is with me. ||1||
ਮਿਲੁ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਬਨੇ ॥
Mil Sakhee Sehaelee Har Gun Banae ||
मिलु सखी सहेली हरि गुन बने ॥
Joining together with my friends and companions, I am adorned with the Lord's Glorious Virtues.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਖੇਲਹਿ ਵਰ ਕਾਮਨਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਖੋਜਤ ਮਨ ਮਨੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Har Prabh Sang Khaelehi Var Kaaman Guramukh Khojath Man Manae ||1|| Rehaao ||
हरि प्रभ संगि खेलहि वर कामनि गुरमुखि खोजत मन मने ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The sublime soul-brides play with their Lord God. The Gurmukhs look within themselves; their minds are filled with faith. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਮੁਖੀ ਦੁਹਾਗਣਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਭੇਉ ॥
Manamukhee Dhuhaagan Naahi Bhaeo ||
मनमुखी दुहागणि नाहि भेउ ॥
The self-willed manmukhs, suffering in separation, do not understand this mystery.
ਓਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰੇਉ ॥
Ouhu Ghatt Ghatt Raavai Sarab Praeo ||
ओहु घटि घटि रावै सरब प्रेउ ॥
The Beloved Lord of all celebrates in each and every heart.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਥਿਰੁ ਚੀਨੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦੇਉ ॥
Guramukh Thhir Cheenai Sang Dhaeo ||
गुरमुखि थिरु चीनै संगि देउ ॥
The Gurmukh is stable, knowing that God is always with him.
ਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਜਪੁ ਜਪੇਉ ॥੨॥
Gur Naam Dhrirraaeiaa Jap Japaeo ||2||
गुरि नामु द्रिड़ाइआ जपु जपेउ ॥२॥
The Guru has implanted the Naam within me; I chant it, and meditate on it. ||2||
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਭਾਉ ਹੋਇ ॥
Bin Gur Bhagath N Bhaao Hoe ||
बिनु गुर भगति न भाउ होइ ॥
Without the Guru, devotional love does not well up within.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਸੰਗੁ ਦੇਇ ॥
Bin Gur Santh N Sang Dhaee ||
बिनु गुर संत न संगु देइ ॥
Without the Guru, one is not blessed with the Society of the Saints.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਧੰਧੁ ਰੋਇ ॥
Bin Gur Andhhulae Dhhandhh Roe ||
बिनु गुर अंधुले धंधु रोइ ॥
Without the Guru, the blind cry out, entangled in worldly affairs.
ਮਨੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਲੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਖੋਇ ॥੩॥
Man Guramukh Niramal Mal Sabadh Khoe ||3||
मनु गुरमुखि निरमलु मलु सबदि खोइ ॥३॥
That mortal who becomes Gurmukh becomes immaculate; the Word of the Shabad washes away his filth. ||3||
ਗੁਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿਓ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ॥
Gur Man Maariou Kar Sanjog ||
गुरि मनु मारिओ करि संजोगु ॥
Uniting with the Guru, the mortal conquers and subdues his mind.
ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਰਾਵੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
Ahinis Raavae Bhagath Jog ||
अहिनिसि रावे भगति जोगु ॥
Day and night, he savors the Yoga of devotional worship.
ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਿਟੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥
Gur Santh Sabhaa Dhukh Mittai Rog ||
गुर संत सभा दुखु मिटै रोगु ॥
Associating with the Saint Guru, suffering and sickness are ended.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸਹਜ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੪॥੬॥

जन नानक हरि वरु सहज जोगु ॥४॥६॥
Servant Nanak merges with his Husband Lord, in the Yoga of intuitive ease. ||4||6||

By His Creative Power, God fashioned the creation.
ਸਚੁ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਬੇੜੇ ਰਾਜੁ ਰਾਜਿ ॥
Sach Aap Nibaerrae Raaj Raaj ||
सचु आपि निबेड़े राजु राजि ॥
The King of kings Himself adminsters true justice.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
Guramath Ootham Sang Saathh ||
गुरमति ऊतम संगि साथि ॥
The most sublime Word of the Guru's Teachings is always with us.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਆਥਿ ॥੧॥
Har Naam Rasaaein Sehaj Aathh ||1||
हरि नामु रसाइणु सहजि आथि ॥१॥
The wealth of the Lord's Name, the source of nectar, is easily acquired. ||1||
ਮਤ ਬਿਸਰਸਿ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਰਾਮ ਬੋਲਿ ॥
Math Bisaras Rae Man Raam Bol ||
मत बिसरसि रे मन राम बोलि ॥
So chant the Name of the Lord; do not forget it, O my mind.
ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਤੁਲਾਏ ਅਤੁਲੁ ਤੋਲਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Aparanpar Agam Agochar Guramukh Har Aap Thulaaeae Athul Thol ||1|| Rehaao ||
अपर्मपरु अगम अगोचरु गुरमुखि हरि आपि तुलाए अतुलु तोलि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Lord is Infinite, Inaccessible and Incomprehensible; His weight cannot be weighed, but He Himself allows the Gurmukh to weigh Him. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨ ਸਰੇਵਹਿ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਤੋਰ ॥
Gur Charan Saraevehi Gurasikh Thor ||
गुर चरन सरेवहि गुरसिख तोर ॥
Your GurSikhs serve at the Guru's Feet.
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵ ਤਰੇ ਤਜਿ ਮੇਰ ਤੋਰ ॥
Gur Saev Tharae Thaj Maer Thor ||
गुर सेव तरे तजि मेर तोर ॥
Serving the Guru, they are carried across; they have abandoned any distinction between 'mine' and 'yours'.
ਨਰ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਲੋਭੀ ਮਨਿ ਕਠੋਰ ॥
Nar Nindhak Lobhee Man Kathor ||
नर निंदक लोभी मनि कठोर ॥
The slanderous and greedy people are hard-hearted.
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਭਾਈ ਸਿ ਚੋਰ ਚੋਰ ॥੨॥

गुर सेव न भाई सि चोर चोर ॥२॥
Those who do not love to serve the Guru are the most thieving of thieves. ||2||
ਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਬਖਸੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਉ ॥
Gur Thuthaa Bakhasae Bhagath Bhaao ||
गुरु तुठा बखसे भगति भाउ ॥
When the Guru is pleased, He blesses the mortals with loving devotional worship of the Lord.
ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਲਿ ਠਾਉ ॥
Gur Thuthai Paaeeai Har Mehal Thaao ||
गुरि तुठै पाईऐ हरि महलि ठाउ ॥
When the Guru is pleased, the mortal obtains a place in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence.
ਪਰਹਰਿ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਾਗੁ ॥
Parehar Nindhaa Har Bhagath Jaag ||
परहरि निंदा हरि भगति जागु ॥
So renounce slander, and awaken in devotional worship of the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਕਰਮਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥੩॥
Har Bhagath Suhaavee Karam Bhaag ||3||
हरि भगति सुहावी करमि भागु ॥३॥
Devotion to the Lord is wonderful; it comes through good karma and destiny. ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਕਰੇ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
Gur Mael Milaavai Karae Dhaath ||
गुरु मेलि मिलावै करे दाति ॥
The Guru unites in union with the Lord, and grants the gift of the Name.
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
Gurasikh Piaarae Dhinas Raath ||
गुरसिख पिआरे दिनसु राति ॥
The Guru loves His Sikhs, day and night.
ਫਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਸਿ ਦੇਇ ॥
Fal Naam Paraapath Gur Thus Dhaee ||
फलु नामु परापति गुरु तुसि देइ ॥
They obtain the fruit of the Naam, when the Guru's favor is bestowed.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਇ ॥੪॥੭॥
Kahu Naanak Paavehi Viralae Kaee ||4||7||
कहु नानक पावहि विरले केइ ॥४॥७॥
Says Nanak, those who receive it are very rare indeed. ||4||7||
ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਇਕ ਤੁਕਾ ॥

बसंतु महला ३ इक तुका ॥
Basant, Third Mehl, Ik-Tukas:
ਸਾਹਿਬ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੈ ॥
Saahib Bhaavai Saevak Saevaa Karai ||
साहिब भावै सेवकु सेवा करै ॥
When it pleases our Lord and Master, His servant serves Him.
ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਸਭਿ ਕੁਲ ਉਧਰੈ ॥੧॥
Jeevath Marai Sabh Kul Oudhharai ||1||
जीवतु मरै सभि कुल उधरै ॥१॥
He remains dead while yet alive, and redeems all his ancestors. ||1||
ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਛੋਡਉ ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਹਸੈ ॥
Thaeree Bhagath N Shhoddo Kiaa Ko Hasai ||
तेरी भगति न छोडउ किआ को हसै ॥
I shall not renounce Your devotional worship, O Lord; what does it matter if people laugh at me?
ਸਾਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Saach Naam Maerai Hiradhai Vasai ||1|| Rehaao ||
साचु नामु मेरै हिरदै वसै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The True Name abides within my heart. ||1||Pause||
ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗਲਤੁ ਰਹੈ ॥
Jaisae Maaeiaa Mohi Praanee Galath Rehai ||
जैसे माइआ मोहि प्राणी गलतु रहै ॥
Just as the mortal remains engrossed in attachment to Maya,
ਤੈਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਵਤ ਰਹੈ ॥੨॥
Thaisae Santh Jan Raam Naam Ravath Rehai ||2||
तैसे संत जन राम नाम रवत रहै ॥२॥
So does the Lord's humble Saint remain absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||2||
ਮੈ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੁਗਧ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆ ॥
Mai Moorakh Mugadhh Oopar Karahu Dhaeiaa ||
मै मूरख मुगध ऊपरि करहु दइआ ॥
I am foolish and ignorant, O Lord; please be merciful to me.
ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਰਹਉ ਪਇਆ ॥੩॥
Tho Saranaagath Reho Paeiaa ||3||
तउ सरणागति रहउ पइआ ॥३॥
May I remain in Your Sanctuary. ||3||
ਕਹਤੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਕਾਮਾ ॥
Kehath Naanak Sansaar Kae Nihafal Kaamaa ||
कहतु नानकु संसार के निहफल कामा ॥
Says Nanak, worldly affairs are fruitless.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮਾ ॥੪॥੮॥
Gur Prasaadh Ko Paavai Anmrith Naamaa ||4||8||
गुर प्रसादि को पावै अम्रित नामा ॥४॥८॥
Only by Guru's Grace does one receive the Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||8||

Saal Graam Bip Pooj Manaavahu Sukirath Thulasee Maalaa ||
साल ग्राम बिप पूजि मनावहु सुक्रितु तुलसी माला ॥
O Brahmin, you worship and believe in your stone-god, and wear your ceremonial rosary beads.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਬੇੜਾ ਬਾਂਧਹੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੧॥
Raam Naam Jap Baerraa Baandhhahu Dhaeiaa Karahu Dhaeiaalaa ||1||
राम नामु जपि बेड़ा बांधहु दइआ करहु दइआला ॥१॥
Chant the Name of the Lord. Build your boat, and pray, ""O Merciful Lord, please be merciful to me.""||1||
