Mai Avar Giaan N Dhhiaan Poojaa Har Naam Anthar Vas Rehae ||
मै अवरु गिआनु न धिआनु पूजा हरि नामु अंतरि वसि रहे ॥
I have no other spiritual wisdom, meditation or worship; the Name of the Lord alone dwells deep within me.
ਭੇਖੁ ਭਵਨੀ ਹਠੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿ ਰਹੇ ॥੧॥
Bhaekh Bhavanee Hath N Jaanaa Naanakaa Sach Gehi Rehae ||1||
भेखु भवनी हठु न जाना नानका सचु गहि रहे ॥१॥
I know nothing about religious robes, pilgrimages or stubborn fanaticism; O Nanak, I hold tight to the Truth. ||1||
ਭਿੰਨੜੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਭਲੀ ਦਿਨਸ ਸੁਹਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
Bhinnarree Rain Bhalee Dhinas Suhaaeae Raam ||
भिंनड़ी रैणि भली दिनस सुहाए राम ॥
The night is beautiful, drenched with dew, and the day is delightful,
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਸੂਤੜੀਏ ਪਿਰਮੁ ਜਗਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
Nij Ghar Sootharreeeae Piram Jagaaeae Raam ||
निज घरि सूतड़ीए पिरमु जगाए राम ॥
When her Husband Lord wakes the sleeping soul-bride, in the home of the self.
ਨਵ ਹਾਣਿ ਨਵ ਧਨ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਰ ਭਾਣੀਆ ॥
Nav Haan Nav Dhhan Sabadh Jaagee Aapanae Pir Bhaaneeaa ||
नव हाणि नव धन सबदि जागी आपणे पिर भाणीआ ॥
The young bride has awakened to the Word of the Shabad; she is pleasing to her Husband Lord.
ਤਜਿ ਕੂੜੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਲੋਕਾਣੀਆ ॥
Thaj Koorr Kapatt Subhaao Dhoojaa Chaakaree Lokaaneeaa ||
तजि कूड़ु कपटु सुभाउ दूजा चाकरी लोकाणीआ ॥
So renounce falsehood, fraud, love of duality and working for people.
ਮੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠੇ ਸਾਚ ਸਬਦੁ ਨੀਸਾਣਿਆ ॥
Mai Naam Har Kaa Haar Kanthae Saach Sabadh Neesaaniaa ||
मै नामु हरि का हारु कंठे साच सबदु नीसाणिआ ॥
The Name of the Lord is my necklace, and I am anointed with the True Shabad.
ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਿਆ ॥੨॥
Kar Jorr Naanak Saach Maagai Nadhar Kar Thudhh Bhaaniaa ||2||
कर जोड़ि नानकु साचु मागै नदरि करि तुधु भाणिआ ॥२॥
With his palms pressed together, Nanak begs for the gift of the True Name; please, bless me with Your Grace, through the pleasure of Your Will. ||2||
ਜਾਗੁ ਸਲੋਨੜੀਏ ਬੋਲੈ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Jaag Salonarreeeae Bolai Gurabaanee Raam ||
जागु सलोनड़ीए बोलै गुरबाणी राम ॥
Awake, O bride of splendored eyes, and chant the Word of the Guru's Bani.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮੰਨਿਅੜੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Jin Sun Manniarree Akathh Kehaanee Raam ||
जिनि सुणि मंनिअड़ी अकथ कहाणी राम ॥
Listen, and place your faith in the Unspoken Speech of the Lord.
ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝਏ ॥
Akathh Kehaanee Padh Nirabaanee Ko Viralaa Guramukh Boojheae ||
अकथ कहाणी पदु निरबाणी को विरला गुरमुखि बूझए ॥
The Unspoken Speech, the state of Nirvaanaa - how rare is the Gurmukh who understands this.
ਓਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸੋਝੀ ਸੂਝਏ ॥
Ouhu Sabadh Samaaeae Aap Gavaaeae Thribhavan Sojhee Soojheae ||
ओहु सबदि समाए आपु गवाए त्रिभवण सोझी सूझए ॥
Merging in the Word of the Shabad, self-conceit is eradicated, and the three worlds are revealed to her understanding.
ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਨਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
Rehai Atheeth Aparanpar Raathaa Saach Man Gun Saariaa ||
रहै अतीतु अपर्मपरि राता साचु मनि गुण सारिआ ॥
Remaining detached, with infinity infusing, the true mind cherishes the virtues of the Lord.
ਓਹੁ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬ ਠਾਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
Ouhu Poor Rehiaa Sarab Thaaee Naanakaa Our Dhhaariaa ||3||
ओहु पूरि रहिआ सरब ठाई नानका उरि धारिआ ॥३॥
He is fully pervading and permeating all places; Nanak has enshrined Him within his heart. ||3||

महलि बुलाइड़ीए भगति सनेही राम ॥
The Lord is calling you to the Mansion of His Presence; O soul-bride, He is the Lover of His devotees.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਨਿ ਰਹਸੀ ਸੀਝਸਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Guramath Man Rehasee Seejhas Dhaehee Raam ||
गुरमति मनि रहसी सीझसि देही राम ॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, your mind shall be delighted, and your body shall be fulfilled.
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਰੀਝੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਝੈ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਥੁ ਪਛਾਣਏ ॥
Man Maar Reejhai Sabadh Seejhai Thrai Lok Naathh Pashhaaneae ||
मनु मारि रीझै सबदि सीझै त्रै लोक नाथु पछाणए ॥
Conquer and subdue your mind, and love the Word of the Shabad; reform yourself, and realize the Lord of the three worlds.
ਮਨੁ ਡੀਗਿ ਡੋਲਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ਕਤ ਹੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਜਾਣਏ ॥
Man Ddeeg Ddol N Jaae Kath Hee Aapanaa Pir Jaaneae ||
मनु डीगि डोलि न जाइ कत ही आपणा पिरु जाणए ॥
Her mind shall not waver or wander anywhere else, when she comes to know her Husband Lord.
ਮੈ ਆਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਖਸਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੈ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਕੀਆ ਤੇਰਓ ॥
Mai Aadhhaar Thaeraa Thoo Khasam Maeraa Mai Thaan Thakeeaa Thaerou ||
मै आधारु तेरा तू खसमु मेरा मै ताणु तकीआ तेरओ ॥
You are my only Support, You are my Lord and Master. You are my strength and anchor.

साचि सूचा सदा नानक गुर सबदि झगरु निबेरओ ॥४॥२॥

ਗੁਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਮਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Gur Thuthai Har Prabh Paaeiaa Rang Raleeaa Maanaa Raam ||
गुरि तुठै हरि प्रभु पाइआ रंगि रलीआ माणा राम ॥
As it pleases the Guru, I have found the Lord God, and I revel and delight in His Love.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਮਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Vaddabhaageeaa Sohaaganee Har Masathak Maanaa Raam ||
वडभागीआ सोहागणी हरि मसतकि माणा राम ॥
Very fortunate are those happy soul-brides, who have the jewel of the Naam upon their foreheads.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥

हरि प्रभु हरि सोहागु है नानक मनि भाणा राम ॥१॥

निमाणिआ हरि माणु है हरि प्रभु हरि आपै राम ॥
The Lord is the honor of the dishonored. The Lord, the Lord God is Himself by Himself.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Guramukh Aap Gavaaeiaa Nith Har Har Jaapai Raam ||
गुरमुखि आपु गवाइआ नित हरि हरि जापै राम ॥
The Gurmukh eradicates self-conceit, and constantly chants the Name of the Lord.
ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥
Maerae Har Prabh Bhaavai So Karai Har Rang Har Raapai Raam ||
मेरे हरि प्रभ भावै सो करै हरि रंगि हरि रापै राम ॥
My Lord God does whatever He pleases; the Lord imbues mortal beings with the color of His Love.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਧ੍ਰਾਪੈ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
Jan Naanak Sehaj Milaaeiaa Har Ras Har Dhhraapai Raam ||2||
जनु नानकु सहजि मिलाइआ हरि रसि हरि ध्रापै राम ॥२॥
Servant Nanak is easily merged into the Celestial Lord. He is satisfied with the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2||
ਮਾਣਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਵਣ ਵੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Maanas Janam Har Paaeeai Har Raavan Vaeraa Raam ||
माणस जनमि हरि पाईऐ हरि रावण वेरा राम ॥
The Lord is found only through this human incarnation. This is the time to contemplate the Lord.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਿਲੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਹੋਇ ਘਣੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Guramukh Mil Sohaaganee Rang Hoe Ghanaeraa Raam ||
गुरमुखि मिलु सोहागणी रंगु होइ घणेरा राम ॥
As Gurmukhs, the happy soul-brides meet Him, and their love for Him is abundant.
ਜਿਨ ਮਾਣਸ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਭਾਗੁ ਮੰਦੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Jin Maanas Janam N Paaeiaa Thinh Bhaag Mandhaeraa Raam ||
जिन माणस जनमि न पाइआ तिन्ह भागु मंदेरा राम ॥
Those who have not attained human incarnation, are cursed by evil destiny.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥

हरि हरि हरि हरि राखु प्रभ नानकु जनु तेरा राम ॥३॥
O Lord, God, Har, Har, Har, Har, save Nanak; he is Your humble servant. ||3||

गुरि हरि प्रभु अगमु द्रिड़ाइआ मनु तनु रंगि भीना राम ॥
The Guru has implanted within me the Name of the Inaccessible Lord God; my mind and body are drenched with the Lord's Love.
