सुख सागर प्रभु पाईऐ जब होवै भागो राम ॥
One finds God, the Ocean of Peace, when destiny is activated.
ਮਾਨਨਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਵਞਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥
Maanan Maan Vanjaaeeai Har Charanee Laago Raam ||
माननि मानु वञाईऐ हरि चरणी लागो राम ॥
Abandoning the distinctions of honor and dishonor, grasp the Feet of the Lord.
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਚਾਤੁਰੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਤਿਆਗੋ ਰਾਮ ॥

छोडि सिआनप चातुरी दुरमति बुधि तिआगो राम ॥
Renounce cleverness and trickery, and forsake your evil-minded intellect.

नानक पउ सरणाई राम राइ थिरु होइ सुहागो राम ॥१॥
O Nanak, seek the Sanctuary of the Sovereign Lord, Your King, and your marriage will be permanent and stable. ||1||
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਜਿ ਕਤ ਲਾਗੀਐ ਜਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
So Prabh Thaj Kath Laageeai Jis Bin Mar Jaaeeai Raam ||
सो प्रभु तजि कत लागीऐ जिसु बिनु मरि जाईऐ राम ॥
Why forsake God, and attach yourself to another? Without the Lord, you cannot even live.
ਲਾਜ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਮਤੀ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਬਿਰਮਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥
Laaj N Aavai Agiaan Mathee Dhurajan Biramaaeeai Raam ||
लाज न आवै अगिआन मती दुरजन बिरमाईऐ राम ॥
The ignorant fool does not feel any shame; the evil man wanders around deluded.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਹੁ ਕਤ ਠਹਰਾਈਐ ਰਾਮ ॥

पतित पावन प्रभु तिआगि करे कहु कत ठहराईऐ राम ॥
God is the Purifier of sinners; if he forsakes God, tell me, where he can find a place of rest?

स्री गोपालु न उचरहि बलि गईए दुहचारणि रसना राम ॥
May that vicious tongue that does not chant the Name of the Great Lord of the World, be burnt.
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਨਹ ਸੇਵਹੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਕਾਕ ਗ੍ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Prabh Bhagath Vashhal Neh Saevehee Kaaeiaa Kaak Grasanaa Raam ||
प्रभु भगति वछलु नह सेवही काइआ काक ग्रसना राम ॥
One who does not serve God, the Lover of His devotees, shall have his body eaten by crows.
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਮੋਹੀ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੀ ਕੋਟਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਬਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Bhram Mohee Dhookh N Jaanehee Kott Jonee Basanaa Raam ||
भ्रमि मोही दूख न जाणही कोटि जोनी बसना राम ॥
Enticed by doubt, he does not understand the pain it brings; he wanders through millions of incarnations.
ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਜਿ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਮ ਭਸਮਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
Naanak Bin Har Avar J Chaahanaa Bisattaa Kiram Bhasamaa Raam ||3||
नानक बिनु हरि अवरु जि चाहना बिसटा क्रिम भसमा राम ॥३॥
O Nanak, if you desire anything other than the Lord, you shall be consumed, like a maggot in manure. ||3||
ਲਾਇ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸੰਗੇ ਹੋਇ ਮਿਲੁ ਬੈਰਾਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥
Laae Birahu Bhagavanth Sangae Hoe Mil Bairaagan Raam ||
लाइ बिरहु भगवंत संगे होइ मिलु बैरागनि राम ॥
Embrace love for the Lord God, and in detachment, unite with Him.
ਚੰਦਨ ਚੀਰ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਰਸਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਤਿਆਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥
Chandhan Cheer Sugandhh Rasaa Houmai Bikh Thiaagan Raam ||
चंदन चीर सुगंध रसा हउमै बिखु तिआगनि राम ॥
Give up your sandalwood oil, expensive clothes, perfumes, tasty flavors and the poison of egotism.
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਨਹ ਡੋਲੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਾਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥
Eeth Ooth Neh Ddoleeai Har Saevaa Jaagan Raam ||
ईत ऊत नह डोलीऐ हरि सेवा जागनि राम ॥
Do not waver this way or that, but remain wakeful in the service of the Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾ ਅਟਲ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥

नानक जिनि प्रभु पाइआ आपणा सा अटल सुहागनि राम ॥४॥१॥४॥

Har Khojahu Vaddabhaageeho Mil Saadhhoo Sangae Raam ||
हरि खोजहु वडभागीहो मिलि साधू संगे राम ॥
Seek the Lord, O fortunate ones, and join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਗੁਨ ਗੋਵਿਦ ਸਦ ਗਾਈਅਹਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Gun Govidh Sadh Gaaeeahi Paarabreham Kai Rangae Raam ||
गुन गोविद सद गाईअहि पारब्रहम कै रंगे राम ॥
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe forever, imbued with the Love of the Supreme Lord God.
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਫਲ ਮੰਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
So Prabh Sadh Hee Saeveeai Paaeeahi Fal Mangae Raam ||
सो प्रभु सद ही सेवीऐ पाईअहि फल मंगे राम ॥
Serving God forever, you shall obtain the fruitful rewards you desire.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਅਨਤ ਤਰੰਗੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥

नानक प्रभ सरणागती जपि अनत तरंगे राम ॥१॥
O Nanak, seek the Sanctuary of God; meditate on the Lord, and ride the many waves of the mind. ||1||

इकु तिलु प्रभू न वीसरै जिनि सभु किछु दीना राम ॥
I shall not forget God, even for an instant; He has blessed me with everything.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੇਲਾਵੜਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Maelaavarraa Guramukh Pir Cheenhaa Raam ||
वडभागी मेलावड़ा गुरमुखि पिरु चीन्हा राम ॥
By great good fortune, I have met Him; as Gurmukh, I contemplate my Husband Lord.
ਬਾਹ ਪਕੜਿ ਤਮ ਤੇ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਲੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
Baah Pakarr Tham Thae Kaadtiaa Kar Apunaa Leenaa Raam ||
बाह पकड़ि तम ते काढिआ करि अपुना लीना राम ॥
Holding me by the arm, He has lifted me up and pulled me out of the darkness, and made me His own.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
Naam Japath Naanak Jeevai Seethal Man Seenaa Raam ||2||
नामु जपत नानक जीवै सीतलु मनु सीना राम ॥२॥
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Nanak lives; his mind and heart are cooled and soothed. ||2||
ਕਿਆ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Kiaa Gun Thaerae Kehi Sako Prabh Antharajaamee Raam ||
किआ गुण तेरे कहि सकउ प्रभ अंतरजामी राम ॥
What virtues of Yours can I speak, O God, O Searcher of hearts?
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੈ ਭਏ ਪਾਰਗਰਾਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Simar Simar Naaraaeinai Bheae Paaragaraamee Raam ||
सिमरि सिमरि नाराइणै भए पारगरामी राम ॥
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, I have crossed over to the other shore.
ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥
Gun Gaavath Govindh Kae Sabh Eishh Pujaamee Raam ||
गुन गावत गोविंद के सभ इछ पुजामी राम ॥
Singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe, all my desires are fulfilled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਪਿ ਹਰੇ ਸਭਹੂ ਕਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
Naanak Oudhharae Jap Harae Sabhehoo Kaa Suaamee Raam ||3||
नानक उधरे जपि हरे सभहू का सुआमी राम ॥३॥
Nanak is saved, meditating on the Lord, the Lord and Master of all. ||3||
ਰਸ ਭਿੰਨਿਅੜੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਰਾਮ ਸੰਗੇ ਸੇ ਲੋਇਣ ਨੀਕੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Ras Bhinniarrae Apunae Raam Sangae Sae Loein Neekae Raam ||
रस भिंनिअड़े अपुने राम संगे से लोइण नीके राम ॥
Sublime are those eyes, which are drenched with the Love of the Lord.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖਤ ਇਛਾ ਪੁੰਨੀਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਜੀ ਕੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Prabh Paekhath Eishhaa Punneeaa Mil Saajan Jee Kae Raam ||
प्रभ पेखत इछा पुंनीआ मिलि साजन जी के राम ॥
Gazing upon God, my desires are fulfilled; I have met the Lord, the Friend of my soul.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸ ਫੀਕੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
Anmrith Ras Har Paaeiaa Bikhiaa Ras Feekae Raam ||
अम्रित रसु हरि पाइआ बिखिआ रस फीके राम ॥
I have obtained the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord's Love, and now the taste of corruption is insipid and tasteless to me.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮੀਕੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੨॥੫॥੯॥
