Jis Thae Sukh Paavehi Man Maerae So Sadhaa Dhhiaae Nith Kar Juranaa ||
जिस ते सुख पावहि मन मेरे सो सदा धिआइ नित कर जुरना ॥
He shall give you peace, O my mind; meditate forever, every day on Him, with your palms pressed together.

ਜਿਤਨੇ ਸਾਹ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਉਮਰਾਵ ਸਿਕਦਾਰ ਚਉਧਰੀ ਸਭਿ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਝੂਠੁ ਭਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
Jithanae Saah Paathisaah Oumaraav Sikadhaar Choudhharee Sabh Mithhiaa Jhooth Bhaao Dhoojaa Jaan ||
जितने साह पातिसाह उमराव सिकदार चउधरी सभि मिथिआ झूठु भाउ दूजा जाणु ॥
All the kings, emperors, nobles, lords and chiefs are false and transitory, engrossed in duality - know this well.
ਹਰਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਭਜੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੧॥

हरि अबिनासी सदा थिरु निहचलु तिसु मेरे मन भजु परवाणु ॥१॥
The eternal Lord is permanent and unchanging; meditate on Him, O my mind, and you shall be approved. ||1||

मेरे मन नामु हरी भजु सदा दीबाणु ॥
O my mind,vibrate,and meditate on the Lord's Name, which shall be your defender forever.
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਦਾ ਤਾਣੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

जो हरि महलु पावै गुर बचनी तिसु जेवडु अवरु नाही किसै दा ताणु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
One who obtains the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, through the Word of the Guru's Teachings - no one else's power is as great as his. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਧਨਵੰਤ ਕੁਲਵੰਤ ਮਿਲਖਵੰਤ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਜਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਸੁੰਭ ਕਚਾਣੁ ॥
Jithanae Dhhanavanth Kulavanth Milakhavanth Dheesehi Man Maerae Sabh Binas Jaahi Jio Rang Kasunbh Kachaan ||
जितने धनवंत कुलवंत मिलखवंत दीसहि मन मेरे सभि बिनसि जाहि जिउ रंगु कसु्मभ कचाणु ॥
All the wealthy, high class property owners which you see, O my mind, shall vanish, like the fading color of the safflower.
ਹਰਿ ਸਤਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੇਵਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਤੂ ਮਾਣੁ ॥੨॥
Har Sath Niranjan Sadhaa Saev Man Maerae Jith Har Dharageh Paavehi Thoo Maan ||2||
हरि सति निरंजनु सदा सेवि मन मेरे जितु हरि दरगह पावहि तू माणु ॥२॥
Serve the True, Immaculate Lord forever, O my mind, and you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. ||2||
ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੂਦ ਵੈਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਆਸ੍ਰਮ ਹਹਿ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ॥
Braahaman Khathree Soodh Vais Chaar Varan Chaar Aasram Hehi Jo Har Dhhiaavai So Paradhhaan ||
ब्राहमणु खत्री सूद वैस चारि वरन चारि आस्रम हहि जो हरि धिआवै सो परधानु ॥
There are four castes: Brahmin, Kh'shaatriya, Soodra and Vaishya, and there are four stages of life. One who meditates on the Lord, is the most distinguished and renowned.
ਜਿਉ ਚੰਦਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਹਿਰਡੁ ਬਪੁੜਾ ਤਿਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
Jio Chandhan Nikatt Vasai Hiradd Bapurraa Thio Sathasangath Mil Pathith Paravaan ||3||
जिउ चंदन निकटि वसै हिरडु बपुड़ा तिउ सतसंगति मिलि पतित परवाणु ॥३॥
The poor castor oil plant, growing near the sandalwood tree, becomes fragrant; in the same way, the sinner, associating with the Saints, becomes acceptable and approved. ||3||
ਓਹੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਸੂਚਾ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥
Ouhu Sabh Thae Oochaa Sabh Thae Soochaa Jaa Kai Hiradhai Vasiaa Bhagavaan ||
ओहु सभ ते ऊचा सभ ते सूचा जा कै हिरदै वसिआ भगवानु ॥
He, within whose heart the Lord abides, is the highest of all, and the purest of all.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਪਖਾਲੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਸੇਵਕਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੪॥

जन नानकु तिस के चरन पखालै जो हरि जनु नीचु जाति सेवकाणु ॥४॥४॥
Servant Nanak washes the feet of thM at humble servant of the Lord; he may be from a low class family, but he is now the Lord's servant. ||4||4||

Har Antharajaamee Sabhathai Varathai Jaehaa Har Karaaeae Thaehaa Ko Kareeai ||
हरि अंतरजामी सभतै वरतै जेहा हरि कराए तेहा को करईऐ ॥
The Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, is all-pervading. As the Lord causes them to act, so do they act.
ਸੋ ਐਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਧਨੋ ਸਭ ਦੂ ਰਖਿ ਲਈਐ ॥੧॥
So Aisaa Har Saev Sadhaa Man Maerae Jo Thudhhano Sabh Dhoo Rakh Leeai ||1||
सो ऐसा हरि सेवि सदा मन मेरे जो तुधनो सभ दू रखि लईऐ ॥१॥
So serve forever such a Lord, O my mind, who will protect you from everything. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਪੜਈਐ ॥

मेरे मन हरि जपि हरि नित पड़ईऐ ॥
O my mind, meditate on the Lord, and read about the Lord every day.
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਤਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਕਾਇਤੁ ਕੜਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

हरि बिनु को मारि जीवालि न साकै ता मेरे मन काइतु कड़ईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Other than the Lord, no one can kill you or save you; so why do you worry, O my mind? ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਕਰਤੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਧਰਈਐ ॥

हरि परपंचु कीआ सभु करतै विचि आपे आपणी जोति धरईऐ ॥
The Creator created the entire universe, and infused His Light into it.
ਹਰਿ ਏਕੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਦਿਖਈਐ ॥੨॥
Har Eaeko Bolai Har Eaek Bulaaeae Gur Poorai Har Eaek Dhikheeai ||2||
हरि एको बोलै हरि एकु बुलाए गुरि पूरै हरि एकु दिखईऐ ॥२॥
The One Lord speaks, and the One Lord causes all to speak.The Perfect Guru has revealed the One Lord. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਾਲੇ ਕਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਸਹੁ ਮਨ ਕਿਆ ਚੋਰਈਐ ॥
Har Anthar Naalae Baahar Naalae Kahu This Paasahu Man Kiaa Choreeai ||
हरि अंतरि नाले बाहरि नाले कहु तिसु पासहु मन किआ चोरईऐ ॥
The Lord is with you, inside and out; tell me, O mind, how can You hide anything from Him?
ਨਿਹਕਪਟ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਈਐ ॥੩॥
Nihakapatt Saevaa Keejai Har Kaeree Thaan Maerae Man Sarab Sukh Peeai ||3||
निहकपट सेवा कीजै हरि केरी तां मेरे मन सरब सुख पईऐ ॥३॥
Serve the Lord open-heartedly, and then, O my mind, you shall find total peace. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਦੈ ਵਸਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੋ ਸਭ ਦੂ ਵਡਾ ਸੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਅਈਐ ॥
Jis Dhai Vas Sabh Kishh So Sabh Dhoo Vaddaa So Maerae Man Sadhaa Dhhiaeeai ||
जिस दै वसि सभु किछु सो सभ दू वडा सो मेरे मन सदा धिअईऐ ॥
Everything is under His control; He is the greatest of all. O my mind, meditate forever on Him.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਹੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇ ਤੂ ਤੁਧੁ ਲਏ ਛਡਈਐ ॥੪॥੫॥
Jan Naanak So Har Naal Hai Thaerai Har Sadhaa Dhhiaae Thoo Thudhh Leae Shhaddeeai ||4||5||
जन नानक सो हरि नालि है तेरै हरि सदा धिआइ तू तुधु लए छडईऐ ॥४॥५॥
O Servant Nanak, that Lord is always with you. Meditate forever on your Lord, and He shall emancipate you. ||4||5||

My mind yearns so deeply for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, like the thirsty man without water. ||1||
