ਕੋਈ ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਕਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਰਣਿ ਗੁਰ ਆਵੈ ॥
Koee Nindhak Hovai Sathiguroo Kaa Fir Saran Gur Aavai ||
कोई निंदकु होवै सतिगुरू का फिरि सरणि गुर आवै ॥
If someone slanders the True Guru, and then comes seeking the Guru's Protection
ਪਿਛਲੇ ਗੁਨਹ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬਖਸਿ ਲਏ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਰਲਾਵੈ ॥
Pishhalae Guneh Sathigur Bakhas Leae Sathasangath Naal Ralaavai ||
पिछले गुनह सतिगुरु बखसि लए सतसंगति नालि रलावै ॥
The True Guru forgives him for his past sins, and unites him with the Saints' Congregation.
ਜਿਉ ਮੀਹਿ ਵੁਠੈ ਗਲੀਆ ਨਾਲਿਆ ਟੋਭਿਆ ਕਾ ਜਲੁ ਜਾਇ ਪਵੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਮਿਲਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
Jio Meehi Vuthai Galeeaa Naaliaa Ttobhiaa Kaa Jal Jaae Pavai Vich Surasaree Surasaree Milath Pavithra Paavan Hoe Jaavai ||
जिउ मीहि वुठै गलीआ नालिआ टोभिआ का जलु जाइ पवै विचि सुरसरी सुरसरी मिलत पवित्रु पावनु होइ जावै ॥
When the rain falls, the water in the streams, rivers and ponds flows into the Ganges; flowing into the Ganges, it is made sacred and pure.
ਏਹ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਭੁਖ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਤੜ ਆਵੈ ॥
Eaeh Vaddiaaee Sathigur Niravair Vich Jith Miliai Thisanaa Bhukh Outharai Har Saanth Tharr Aavai ||
एह वडिआई सतिगुर निरवैर विचि जितु मिलिऐ तिसना भुख उतरै हरि सांति तड़ आवै ॥
Such is the glorious greatness of the True Guru, who has no vengeance; meeting with Him, thirst and hunger are quenched, and instantly, one attains celestial peace.

ऐसो इहु संसारु पेखना रहनु न कोऊ पईहै रे ॥
This world is a drama; no one can remain here.
ਸੂਧੇ ਸੂਧੇ ਰੇਗਿ ਚਲਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਨਤਰ ਕੁਧਕਾ ਦਿਵਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

सूधे सूधे रेगि चलहु तुम नतर कुधका दिवईहै रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Walk the straight path; otherwise, you will be pushed around. ||1||Pause||
ਬਾਰੇ ਬੂਢੇ ਤਰੁਨੇ ਭਈਆ ਸਭਹੂ ਜਮੁ ਲੈ ਜਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥
Baarae Boodtae Tharunae Bheeaa Sabhehoo Jam Lai Jeehai Rae ||
बारे बूढे तरुने भईआ सभहू जमु लै जईहै रे ॥
The children, the young and the old, O Siblings of Destiny, will be taken away by the Messenger of Death.
ਮਾਨਸੁ ਬਪੁਰਾ ਮੂਸਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਮੀਚੁ ਬਿਲਈਆ ਖਈਹੈ ਰੇ ॥੧॥
Maanas Bapuraa Moosaa Keeno Meech Bileeaa Kheehai Rae ||1||
मानसु बपुरा मूसा कीनो मीचु बिलईआ खईहै रे ॥१॥
The Lord has made the poor man a mouse, and the cat of Death is eating him up. ||1||
ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਮਨਈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਕਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥
Dhhanavanthaa Ar Niradhhan Manee Thaa Kee Kashhoo N Kaanee Rae ||
धनवंता अरु निरधन मनई ता की कछू न कानी रे ॥
It gives no special consideration to either the rich or the poor.
ਰਾਜਾ ਪਰਜਾ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਰੈ ਐਸੋ ਕਾਲੁ ਬਡਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥੨॥
Raajaa Parajaa Sam Kar Maarai Aiso Kaal Baddaanee Rae ||2||
राजा परजा सम करि मारै ऐसो कालु बडानी रे ॥२॥
The king and his subjects are equally killed; such is the power of Death. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਏ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥
Har Kae Saevak Jo Har Bhaaeae Thinh Kee Kathhaa Niraaree Rae ||
हरि के सेवक जो हरि भाए तिन्ह की कथा निरारी रे ॥
Those who are pleasing to the Lord are the servants of the Lord; their story is unique and singular.
ਆਵਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਮਰਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸੰਗਾਰੀ ਰੇ ॥੩॥
Aavehi N Jaahi N Kabehoo Marathae Paarabreham Sangaaree Rae ||3||
आवहि न जाहि न कबहू मरते पारब्रहम संगारी रे ॥३॥
They do not come and go, and they never die; they remain with the Supreme Lord God. ||3||

Puthr Kalathr Lashhimee Maaeiaa Eihai Thajahu Jeea Jaanee Rae ||
पुत्र कलत्र लछिमी माइआ इहै तजहु जीअ जानी रे ॥
Know this in your soul, that by renouncing your children, spouse, wealth and property
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਮਿਲਿਹੈ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥
Kehath Kabeer Sunahu Rae Santhahu Milihai Saarigapaanee Rae ||4||1||
कहत कबीरु सुनहु रे संतहु मिलिहै सारिगपानी रे ॥४॥१॥
- says Kabeer, listen, O Saints - you shall be united with the Lord of the Universe. ||4||1||

I do not read books of knowledge, and I do not understand the debates.

हरि गुन कथत सुनत बउरानो ॥१॥
I have gone insane, chanting and hearing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਬਾ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ਸਭ ਖਲਕ ਸੈਆਨੀ ਮੈ ਬਉਰਾ ॥
Maerae Baabaa Mai Bouraa Sabh Khalak Saiaanee Mai Bouraa ||
मेरे बाबा मै बउरा सभ खलक सैआनी मै बउरा ॥
O my father, I have gone insane; the whole world is sane, and I am insane.
ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਬਿਗਰੈ ਮਤਿ ਅਉਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

आपि न बउरा राम कीओ बउरा ॥
I have not made myself go insane - the Lord made me go insane.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਾਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੨॥

सतिगुरु जारि गइओ भ्रमु मोरा ॥२॥
The True Guru has burnt away my doubt. ||2||
ਮੈ ਬਿਗਰੇ ਅਪਨੀ ਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
Mai Bigarae Apanee Math Khoee ||
मै बिगरे अपनी मति खोई ॥
I am spoiled; I have lost my intellect.
ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਉ ਮਤਿ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
Maerae Bharam Bhoolo Math Koee ||3||
मेरे भरमि भूलउ मति कोई ॥३॥
Let no one go astray in doubt like me. ||3||
ਸੋ ਬਉਰਾ ਜੋ ਆਪੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥
So Bouraa Jo Aap N Pashhaanai ||
सो बउरा जो आपु न पछानै ॥
He alone is insane, who does not understand himself.
ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਤ ਏਕੈ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੪॥
Aap Pashhaanai Th Eaekai Jaanai ||4||
आपु पछानै त एकै जानै ॥४॥
When he understands himself, then he knows the One Lord. ||4||
ਅਬਹਿ ਨ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
Abehi N Maathaa S Kabahu N Maathaa ||
अबहि न माता सु कबहु न माता ॥
One who is not intoxicated with the Lord now, shall never be intoxicated.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਰਾਮੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੫॥੨॥

कहि कबीर रामै रंगि राता ॥५॥२॥

Grihu Thaj Ban Khandd Jaaeeai Chun Khaaeeai Kandhaa ||
ग्रिहु तजि बन खंड जाईऐ चुनि खाईऐ कंदा ॥
Abandoning his household, he may go to the forest, and live by eating roots;
ਅਜਹੁ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਨ ਛੋਡਈ ਪਾਪੀ ਮਨੁ ਮੰਦਾ ॥੧॥
Ajahu Bikaar N Shhoddee Paapee Man Mandhaa ||1||
अजहु बिकार न छोडई पापी मनु मंदा ॥१॥
But even so, his sinful, evil mind does not renounce corruption. ||1||
ਕਿਉ ਛੂਟਉ ਕੈਸੇ ਤਰਉ ਭਵਜਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
Kio Shhootto Kaisae Tharo Bhavajal Nidhh Bhaaree ||
किउ छूटउ कैसे तरउ भवजल निधि भारी ॥
How can anyone be saved? How can anyone cross over the terrifying world-ocean?
ਰਾਖੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੀਠੁਲਾ ਜਨੁ ਸਰਨਿ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

राखु राखु मेरे बीठुला जनु सरनि तुम्हारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Save me, save me, O my Lord! Your humble servant seeks Your Sanctuary. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੀ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਤਜੀਅ ਨਹ ਜਾਈ ॥
Bikhai Bikhai Kee Baasanaa Thajeea Neh Jaaee ||
बिखै बिखै की बासना तजीअ नह जाई ॥
I cannot escape my desire for sin and corruption.
ਅਨਿਕ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੀਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਲਪਟਾਈ ॥੨॥

अनिक जतन करि राखीऐ फिरि फिरि लपटाई ॥२॥
I make all sorts of efforts to hold back from this desire, but it clings to me, again and again. ||2||
