सरब मनोरथ पूरन करणे ॥
All the desires of my mind have been perfectly fulfilled.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗਾਵਤ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
Aath Pehar Gaavath Bhagavanth ||
आठ पहर गावत भगवंतु ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, I sing of the Lord God.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੰਤੁ ॥੧॥
Sathigur Dheeno Pooraa Manth ||1||
सतिगुरि दीनो पूरा मंतु ॥१॥
The True Guru has imparted this perfect wisdom. ||1||
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
So Vaddabhaagee Jis Naam Piaar ||
सो वडभागी जिसु नामि पिआरु ॥
Very fortunate are those who love the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
This Kai Sang Tharai Sansaar ||1|| Rehaao ||
तिस कै संगि तरै संसारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Associating with them, we cross over the world-ocean. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋਈ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜਿ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਏਕ ॥
Soee Giaanee J Simarai Eaek ||
सोई गिआनी जि सिमरै एक ॥
They are spiritual teachers, who meditate in remembrance on the One Lord.
ਸੋ ਧਨਵੰਤਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥
So Dhhanavanthaa Jis Budhh Bibaek ||
सो धनवंता जिसु बुधि बिबेक ॥
Wealthy are those who have a discriminating intellect.
ਸੋ ਕੁਲਵੰਤਾ ਜਿ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
So Kulavanthaa J Simarai Suaamee ||
सो कुलवंता जि सिमरै सुआमी ॥
Noble are those who remember their Lord and Master in meditation.
ਸੋ ਪਤਿਵੰਤਾ ਜਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
So Pathivanthaa J Aap Pashhaanee ||2||
सो पतिवंता जि आपु पछानी ॥२॥
Honorable are those who understand their own selves. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Gur Parasaadh Param Padh Paaeiaa ||
गुर परसादि परम पदु पाइआ ॥
By Guru's Grace, I have obtained the supreme status.
ਗੁਣ ਗਪਾਲ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Gun Guopaal Dhin Rain Dhhiaaeiaa ||
गुण गोपाल दिनु रैनि धिआइआ ॥
Day and night I meditate on the Glories of God.
ਤੂਟੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
Thoottae Bandhhan Pooran Aasaa ||
तूटे बंधन पूरन आसा ॥
My bonds are broken, and my hopes are fulfilled.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
Har Kae Charan Ridh Maahi Nivaasaa ||3||
हरि के चरण रिद माहि निवासा ॥३॥
The Feet of the Lord now abide in my heart. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
Kahu Naanak Jaa Kae Pooran Karamaa ||
कहु नानक जा के पूरन करमा ॥
Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਆਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
So Jan Aaeiaa Prabh Kee Saranaa ||
सो जनु आइआ प्रभ की सरना ॥
That humble being enters the Sanctuary of God.
ਆਪਿ ਪਵਿਤੁ ਪਾਵਨ ਸਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ॥
Aap Pavith Paavan Sabh Keenae ||
आपि पवितु पावन सभि कीने ॥
He himself is pure, and he sanctifies all.
ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਰਸਨਾ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੪੮॥
Raam Rasaaein Rasanaa Cheenhae ||4||35||48||
राम रसाइणु रसना चीन्हे ॥४॥३५॥४८॥
His tongue chants the Name of the Lord, the Source of Nectar. ||4||35||48||

नामु लैत किछु बिघनु न लागै ॥
Repeating the Naam, the Name of the Lord, no obstacles block the way.
ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣਤ ਜਮੁ ਦੂਰਹੁ ਭਾਗੈ ॥
Naam Sunath Jam Dhoorahu Bhaagai ||
नामु सुणत जमु दूरहु भागै ॥
Listening to the Naam, the Messenger of Death runs far away.
ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈਤ ਸਭ ਦੂਖਹ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
Naam Laith Sabh Dhookheh Naas ||
नामु लैत सभ दूखह नासु ॥
Repeating the Naam, all pains vanish.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
Naam Japath Har Charan Nivaas ||1||
नामु जपत हरि चरण निवासु ॥१॥
Chanting the Naam, the Lord's Lotus Feet dwell within. ||1||
ਨਿਰਬਿਘਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
Nirabighan Bhagath Bhaj Har Har Naao ||
निरबिघन भगति भजु हरि हरि नाउ ॥
Meditating, vibrating the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is unobstructed devotional worship.
ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord with loving affection and energy. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥

हरि सिमरत किछु चाखु न जोहै ॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, the Eye of Death cannot see you.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੈਤ ਦੇਉ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ॥
Har Simarath Dhaith Dhaeo N Pohai ||
हरि सिमरत दैत देउ न पोहै ॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, demons and ghosts shall not touch you.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮੋਹੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਬਧੈ ॥
Har Simarath Mohu Maan N Badhhai ||
हरि सिमरत मोहु मानु न बधै ॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, attachment and pride shall not bind you.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਰੁਧੈ ॥੨॥
Har Simarath Garabh Jon N Rudhhai ||2||
हरि सिमरत गरभ जोनि न रुधै ॥२॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, you shall not be consigned to the womb of reincarnation. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀ ਸਗਲੀ ਬੇਲਾ ॥
Har Simaran Kee Sagalee Baelaa ||
हरि सिमरन की सगली बेला ॥
Any time is a good time to meditate in remembrance on the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਹਿ ਇਕੇਲਾ ॥
Har Simaran Bahu Maahi Eikaelaa ||
हरि सिमरनु बहु माहि इकेला ॥
Among the masses, only a few meditate in remembrance on the Lord.
ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਕੋਇ ॥
Jaath Ajaath Japai Jan Koe ||
जाति अजाति जपै जनु कोइ ॥
Social class or no social class, anyone may meditate on the Lord.
ਜੋ ਜਾਪੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
Jo Jaapai This Kee Gath Hoe ||3||
जो जापै तिस की गति होइ ॥३॥
Whoever meditates on Him is emancipated. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ॥
Har Kaa Naam Japeeai Saadhhasang ||
हरि का नामु जपीऐ साधसंगि ॥
Chant the Name of the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
Har Kae Naam Kaa Pooran Rang ||
हरि के नाम का पूरन रंगु ॥
Perfect is the Love of the Lord's Name.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Naanak Ko Prabh Kirapaa Dhhaar ||
नानक कउ प्रभ किरपा धारि ॥
O God, shower Your Mercy on Nanak,
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੩੬॥੪੯॥
Saas Saas Har Dhaehu Chithaar ||4||36||49||
सासि सासि हरि देहु चितारि ॥४॥३६॥४९॥
That he may think of you with each and every breath. ||4||36||49||

आपे सासतु आपे बेदु ॥
He Himself is the Shaastras, and He Himself is the Vedas.
ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਦੁ ॥
Aapae Ghatt Ghatt Jaanai Bhaedh ||
आपे घटि घटि जाणै भेदु ॥
He knows the secrets of each and every heart.
ਜੋਤਿ ਸਰੂਪ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਵਥੁ ॥
Joth Saroop Jaa Kee Sabh Vathh ||
जोति सरूप जा की सभ वथु ॥
He is the Embodiment of Light; all beings belong to Him.
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥੧॥
Karan Kaaran Pooran Samarathh ||1||
करण कारण पूरन समरथु ॥१॥
The Creator, the Cause of causes, the Perfect All-powerful Lord. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਗਹਹੁ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ॥
Prabh Kee Outt Gehahu Man Maerae ||
प्रभ की ओट गहहु मन मेरे ॥
Grab hold of the Support of God, O my mind.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ਦੁਸਮਨ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Charan Kamal Guramukh Aaraadhhahu Dhusaman Dhookh N Aavai Naerae ||1|| Rehaao ||
चरन कमल गुरमुखि आराधहु दुसमन दूखु न आवै नेरे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
As Gurmukh, worship and adore His Lotus Feet; enemies and pains shall not even approach you. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਵਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਣੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
Aapae Van Thrin Thribhavan Saar ||
आपे वणु त्रिणु त्रिभवण सारु ॥
He Himself is the Essence of the forests and fields, and all the three worlds.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
Jaa Kai Sooth Paroeiaa Sansaar ||
जा कै सूति परोइआ संसारु ॥
The universe is strung on His Thread.
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ॥
Aapae Siv Sakathee Sanjogee ||
आपे सिव सकती संजोगी ॥
He is the Uniter of Shiva and Shakti - mind and matter.
ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ਆਪੇ ਭੋਗੀ ॥੨॥
Aap Nirabaanee Aapae Bhogee ||2||
आपि निरबाणी आपे भोगी ॥२॥
He Himself is in the detachment of Nirvaanaa, and He Himself is the Enjoyer. ||2||
ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤਤ ਤਤ ਸੋਇ ॥
Jath Kath Paekho Thath Thath Soe ||
जत कत पेखउ तत तत सोइ ॥
Wherever I look, there He is.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
This Bin Dhoojaa Naahee Koe ||
तिसु बिनु दूजा नाही कोइ ॥
Without Him, there is no one at all.
ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
Saagar Thareeai Naam Kai Rang ||
सागरु तरीऐ नाम कै रंगि ॥
In the Love of the Naam, the world-ocean is crossed.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ॥੩॥
Gun Gaavai Naanak Saadhhasang ||3||
गुण गावै नानकु साधसंगि ॥३॥
Nanak sings His Glorious Praises in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||3||
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਸਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ॥
Mukath Bhugath Jugath Vas Jaa Kai ||
मुकति भुगति जुगति वसि जा कै ॥
Liberation, the ways and means of enjoyment and union are under His Control.
ਊਣਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੈ ॥
Oonaa Naahee Kishh Jan Thaa Kai ||
ऊणा नाही किछु जन ता कै ॥
His humble servant lacks nothing.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Jis Hoe Suprasann ||
करि किरपा जिसु होइ सुप्रसंन ॥
That person, with whom the Lord, in His Mercy, is pleased
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸੇਈ ਜਨ ਧੰਨ ॥੪॥੩੭॥੫੦॥
Naanak Dhaas Saeee Jan Dhhann ||4||37||50||
नानक दास सेई जन धंन ॥४॥३७॥५०॥
- O slave Nanak, that humble servant is blessed. ||4||37||50||

असथिति भए बिनसी सभ चिंद ॥
They become stable and permanent, and all their anxiety is gone.
