पंडित मुलां छाडे दोऊ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I have abandoned both the Pandits, the Hindu religious scholars, and the Mullahs, the Muslim priests. ||1||Pause||
ਬੁਨਿ ਬੁਨਿ ਆਪ ਆਪੁ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਉ ॥
Bun Bun Aap Aap Pehiraavo ||
बुनि बुनि आप आपु पहिरावउ ॥
I weave and weave, and wear what I weave.
ਜਹ ਨਹੀ ਆਪੁ ਤਹਾ ਹੋਇ ਗਾਵਉ ॥੨॥
Jeh Nehee Aap Thehaa Hoe Gaavo ||2||
जह नही आपु तहा होइ गावउ ॥२॥
Where egotism does not exist, there I sing God's Praises. ||2||
ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
Panddith Mulaan Jo Likh Dheeaa ||
पंडित मुलां जो लिखि दीआ ॥
Whatever the Pandits and Mullahs have written,
ਛਾਡਿ ਚਲੇ ਹਮ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥
Shhaadd Chalae Ham Kashhoo N Leeaa ||3||
छाडि चले हम कछू न लीआ ॥३॥
I reject; I do not accept any of it. ||3||
ਰਿਦੈ ਇਖਲਾਸੁ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਲੇ ਮੀਰਾ ॥
Ridhai Eikhalaas Nirakh Lae Meeraa ||
रिदै इखलासु निरखि ले मीरा ॥
My heart is pure, and so I have seen the Lord within.
ਆਪੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਖੋਜਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੪॥੭॥
Aap Khoj Khoj Milae Kabeeraa ||4||7||
आपु खोजि खोजि मिले कबीरा ॥४॥७॥
Searching, searching within the self, Kabeer has met the Lord. ||4||7||
ਨਿਰਧਨ ਆਦਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਦੇਇ ॥
Niradhhan Aadhar Koee N Dhaee ||
निरधन आदरु कोई न देइ ॥
No one respects the poor man.
ਲਾਖ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੈ ਓਹੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਧਰੇਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Laakh Jathan Karai Ouhu Chith N Dhharaee ||1|| Rehaao ||
लाख जतन करै ओहु चिति न धरेइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He may make thousands of efforts, but no one pays any attention to him. ||1||Pause||
ਜਉ ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਸਰਧਨ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
Jo Niradhhan Saradhhan Kai Jaae ||
जउ निरधनु सरधन कै जाइ ॥
When the poor man goes to the rich man,
ਆਗੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਪੀਠਿ ਫਿਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
Aagae Baithaa Peeth Firaae ||1||
आगे बैठा पीठि फिराइ ॥१॥
And sits right in front of him, the rich man turns his back on him. ||1||
ਜਉ ਸਰਧਨੁ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
Jo Saradhhan Niradhhan Kai Jaae ||
जउ सरधनु निरधन कै जाइ ॥
But when the rich man goes to the poor man,
ਦੀਆ ਆਦਰੁ ਲੀਆ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
Dheeaa Aadhar Leeaa Bulaae ||2||
दीआ आदरु लीआ बुलाइ ॥२॥
The poor man welcomes him with respect. ||2||
ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਸਰਧਨੁ ਦੋਨਉ ਭਾਈ ॥
Niradhhan Saradhhan Dhono Bhaaee ||
निरधनु सरधनु दोनउ भाई ॥
The poor man and the rich man are both brothers.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਕਲਾ ਨ ਮੇਟੀ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥
Prabh Kee Kalaa N Maettee Jaaee ||3||
प्रभ की कला न मेटी जाई ॥३॥
God's pre-ordained plan cannot be erased. ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਿਰਧਨੁ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ॥
Kehi Kabeer Niradhhan Hai Soee ||
कहि कबीर निरधनु है सोई ॥
Says Kabeer, he alone is poor,
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੪॥੮॥
Jaa Kae Hiradhai Naam N Hoee ||4||8||
जा के हिरदै नामु न होई ॥४॥८॥
Who does not have the Naam, the Name of the Lord, in his heart. ||4||8||
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
Gur Saevaa Thae Bhagath Kamaaee ||
गुर सेवा ते भगति कमाई ॥
Serving the Guru, devotional worship is practiced.
ਤਬ ਇਹ ਮਾਨਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
Thab Eih Maanas Dhaehee Paaee ||
तब इह मानस देही पाई ॥
Then, this human body is obtained.
ਇਸ ਦੇਹੀ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਦੇਵ ॥
Eis Dhaehee Ko Simarehi Dhaev ||
इस देही कउ सिमरहि देव ॥
Even the gods long for this human body.
ਸੋ ਦੇਹੀ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥
So Dhaehee Bhaj Har Kee Saev ||1||
सो देही भजु हरि की सेव ॥१॥
So vibrate that human body, and think of serving the Lord. ||1||
ਭਜਹੁ ਗਬਿੰਦ ਭੂਲਿ ਮਤ ਜਾਹੁ ॥
Bhajahu Guobindh Bhool Math Jaahu ||
भजहु गोबिंद भूलि मत जाहु ॥
Vibrate, and meditate on the Lord of the Universe, and never forget Him.
ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਏਹੀ ਲਾਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Maanas Janam Kaa Eaehee Laahu ||1|| Rehaao ||
मानस जनम का एही लाहु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
This is the blessed opportunity of this human incarnation. ||1||Pause||
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਜਰਾ ਰੋਗੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
Jab Lag Jaraa Rog Nehee Aaeiaa ||
जब लगु जरा रोगु नही आइआ ॥
As long as the disease of old age has not come to the body,
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਕਾਲਿ ਗ੍ਰਸੀ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਇਆ ॥
Jab Lag Kaal Grasee Nehee Kaaeiaa ||
जब लगु कालि ग्रसी नही काइआ ॥
And as long as death has not come and seized the body,
ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਬਿਕਲ ਭਈ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਨੀ ॥
Jab Lag Bikal Bhee Nehee Baanee ||
जब लगु बिकल भई नही बानी ॥
And as long as your voice has not lost its power,
ਭਜਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਾਰਿਗਪਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
Bhaj Laehi Rae Man Saarigapaanee ||2||
भजि लेहि रे मन सारिगपानी ॥२॥
O mortal being, vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the World. ||2||
ਅਬ ਨ ਭਜਸਿ ਭਜਸਿ ਕਬ ਭਾਈ ॥
Ab N Bhajas Bhajas Kab Bhaaee ||
अब न भजसि भजसि कब भाई ॥
If you do not vibrate and meditate on Him now, when will you, O Sibing of Destiny?
ਆਵੈ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਭਜਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥
Aavai Anth N Bhajiaa Jaaee ||
आवै अंतु न भजिआ जाई ॥
When the end comes, you will not be able to vibrate and meditate on Him.
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਈ ਅਬ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
Jo Kishh Karehi Soee Ab Saar ||
जो किछु करहि सोई अब सारु ॥
Whatever you have to do - now is the best time to do it.
ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਹੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
Fir Pashhuthaahu N Paavahu Paar ||3||
फिरि पछुताहु न पावहु पारु ॥३॥
Otherwise, you shall regret and repent afterwards, and you shall not be carried across to the other side. ||3||
ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੇਵ ॥
So Saevak Jo Laaeiaa Saev ||
सो सेवकु जो लाइआ सेव ॥
He alone is a servant, whom the Lord enjoins to His service.
ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਾਏ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ॥
Thin Hee Paaeae Niranjan Dhaev ||
तिन ही पाए निरंजन देव ॥
He alone attains the Immaculate Divine Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੇ ਕਪਾਟ ॥
Gur Mil Thaa Kae Khulhae Kapaatt ||
गुर मिलि ता के खुल्हे कपाट ॥
Meeting with the Guru, his doors are opened wide,
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜੋਨੀ ਬਾਟ ॥੪॥
Bahur N Aavai Jonee Baatt ||4||
बहुरि न आवै जोनी बाट ॥४॥
And he does not have to journey again on the path of reincarnation. ||4||
ਇਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਉਸਰੁ ਇਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਾਰ ॥
Eihee Thaeraa Aousar Eih Thaeree Baar ||
इही तेरा अउसरु इह तेरी बार ॥
This is your chance, and this is your time.
ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤੂ ਦੇਖੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥
Ghatt Bheethar Thoo Dhaekh Bichaar ||
घट भीतरि तू देखु बिचारि ॥
Look deep into your own heart, and reflect on this.
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਜੀਤਿ ਕੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
Kehath Kabeer Jeeth Kai Haar ||
कहत कबीरु जीति कै हारि ॥
Says Kabeer, you can win or lose.
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕਹਿਓ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥੫॥੧॥੯॥
Bahu Bidhh Kehiou Pukaar Pukaar ||5||1||9||
बहु बिधि कहिओ पुकारि पुकारि ॥५॥१॥९॥
In so many ways, I have proclaimed this out loud. ||5||1||9||
ਸਿਵ ਕੀ ਪੁਰੀ ਬਸੈ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
Siv Kee Puree Basai Budhh Saar ||
सिव की पुरी बसै बुधि सारु ॥
In the City of God, sublime understanding prevails.
ਤਹ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਹੁ ਬਿਚਾਰੁ ॥
Theh Thumh Mil Kai Karahu Bichaar ||
तह तुम्ह मिलि कै करहु बिचारु ॥
There, you shall meet with the Lord, and reflect on Him.
ਈਤ ਊਤ ਕੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਰੈ ॥
Eeth Ooth Kee Sojhee Parai ||
ईत ऊत की सोझी परै ॥
Thus, you shall understand this world and the next.
ਕਉਨੁ ਕਰਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਰੈ ॥੧॥
Koun Karam Maeraa Kar Kar Marai ||1||
कउनु करम मेरा करि करि मरै ॥१॥
What is the use of claiming that you own everything, if you only die in the end? ||1||
ਨਿਜ ਪਦ ਊਪਰਿ ਲਾਗੋ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
Nij Padh Oopar Laago Dhhiaan ||
निज पद ऊपरि लागो धिआनु ॥
I focus my meditation on my inner self, deep within.
ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Raajaa Raam Naam Moraa Breham Giaan ||1|| Rehaao ||
राजा राम नामु मोरा ब्रहम गिआनु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Name of the Sovereign Lord is my spiritual wisdom. ||1||Pause||
ਮੂਲ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਬੰਧਿਆ ਬੰਧੁ ॥
Mool Dhuaarai Bandhhiaa Bandhh ||
मूल दुआरै बंधिआ बंधु ॥
In the first chakra, the root chakra, I have grasped the reins and tied them.
ਰਵਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਗਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਚੰਦੁ ॥
Rav Oopar Gehi Raakhiaa Chandh ||
रवि ऊपरि गहि राखिआ चंदु ॥
I have firmly placed the moon above the sun.
ਪਛਮ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਤਪੈ ॥
Pashham Dhuaarai Sooraj Thapai ||
पछम दुआरै सूरजु तपै ॥
The sun blazes forth at the western gate.
ਮੇਰ ਡੰਡ ਸਿਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਬਸੈ ॥੨॥
Maer Ddandd Sir Oopar Basai ||2||
मेर डंड सिर ऊपरि बसै ॥२॥
Through the central channel of the Shushmanaa, it rises up above my head. ||2||
ਪਸਚਮ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਕੀ ਸਿਲ ਓੜ ॥
Pasacham Dhuaarae Kee Sil Ourr ||
पसचम दुआरे की सिल ओड़ ॥
There is a stone at that western gate,
ਤਿਹ ਸਿਲ ਊਪਰਿ ਖਿੜਕੀ ਅਉਰ ॥
Thih Sil Oopar Khirrakee Aour ||
तिह सिल ऊपरि खिड़की अउर ॥
And above that stone, is another window.
ਖਿੜਕੀ ਊਪਰਿ ਦਸਵਾ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥
Khirrakee Oopar Dhasavaa Dhuaar ||
खिड़की ऊपरि दसवा दुआरु ॥
Above that window is the Tenth Gate.
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੩॥੨॥੧੦॥
Kehi Kabeer Thaa Kaa Anth N Paar ||3||2||10||
कहि कबीर ता का अंतु न पारु ॥३॥२॥१०॥
Says Kabeer, it has no end or limitation. ||3||2||10||
ਸੋ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਮਨ ਸਿਉ ਲਰੈ ॥
So Mulaan Jo Man Sio Larai ||
सो मुलां जो मन सिउ लरै ॥
He alone is a Mullah, who struggles with his mind,
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਕਾਲ ਸਿਉ ਜੁਰੈ ॥
Gur Oupadhaes Kaal Sio Jurai ||
गुर उपदेसि काल सिउ जुरै ॥
And through the Guru's Teachings, fights with death.
ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾ ਮਰਦੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Kaal Purakh Kaa Maradhai Maan ||
काल पुरख का मरदै मानु ॥
He crushes the pride of the Messenger of Death.
ਤਿਸੁ ਮੁਲਾ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਲਾਮੁ ॥੧॥
This Mulaa Ko Sadhaa Salaam ||1||
तिसु मुला कउ सदा सलामु ॥१॥
Unto that Mullah, I ever offer greetings of respect. ||1||
