ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦੁ ਜਨੁ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਆਇ ॥੧੧॥
Prehalaadh Jan Charanee Laagaa Aae ||11||
प्रहलादु जनु चरणी लागा आइ ॥११॥
The humble servant Prahlaad came and fell at the Lord's Feet. ||11||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
Sathigur Naam Nidhhaan Dhrirraaeiaa ||
सतिगुरि नामु निधानु द्रिड़ाइआ ॥
The True Guru implanted the treasure of the Naam within.
ਰਾਜੁ ਮਾਲੁ ਝੂਠੀ ਸਭ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Raaj Maal Jhoothee Sabh Maaeiaa ||
राजु मालु झूठी सभ माइआ ॥
Power, property and all Maya is false.
ਲੋਭੀ ਨਰ ਰਹੇ ਲਪਟਾਇ ॥
Lobhee Nar Rehae Lapattaae ||
लोभी नर रहे लपटाइ ॥
But still, the greedy people continue clinging to them.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੧੨॥
Har Kae Naam Bin Dharageh Milai Sajaae ||12||
हरि के नाम बिनु दरगह मिलै सजाइ ॥१२॥
Without the Name of the Lord, the mortals are punished in His Court. ||12||
ਕਹੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
Kehai Naanak Sabh Ko Karae Karaaeiaa ||
कहै नानकु सभु को करे कराइआ ॥
Says Nanak, everyone acts as the Lord makes them act.
ਸੇ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Sae Paravaan Jinee Har Sio Chith Laaeiaa ||
से परवाणु जिनी हरि सिउ चितु लाइआ ॥
They alone are approved and accepted, who focus their consciousness on the Lord.
ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਦਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
Bhagathaa Kaa Angeekaar Karadhaa Aaeiaa ||
भगता का अंगीकारु करदा आइआ ॥
He has made His devotees His Own.
ਕਰਤੈ ਅਪਣਾ ਰੂਪੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੧੩॥੧॥੨॥

करतै अपणा रूपु दिखाइआ ॥१३॥१॥२॥
The Creator has appeared in His Own Form. ||13||1||2||

Gur Saevaa Thae Anmrith Fal Paaeiaa Houmai Thrisan Bujhaaee ||
गुर सेवा ते अम्रित फलु पाइआ हउमै त्रिसन बुझाई ॥
Serving the Guru, I obtain the Ambrosial Fruit; my egotism and desire have been quenched.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
Har Kaa Naam Hridhai Man Vasiaa Manasaa Manehi Samaaee ||1||
हरि का नामु ह्रिदै मनि वसिआ मनसा मनहि समाई ॥१॥
The Name of the Lord dwells within my heart and mind, and the desires of my mind are quieted. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Har Jeeo Kirapaa Karahu Maerae Piaarae ||
हरि जीउ क्रिपा करहु मेरे पिआरे ॥
O Dear Lord, my Beloved, please bless me with Your Mercy.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਦੀਨ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Anadhin Har Gun Dheen Jan Maangai Gur Kai Sabadh Oudhhaarae ||1|| Rehaao ||
अनदिनु हरि गुण दीन जनु मांगै गुर कै सबदि उधारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Night and day, Your humble servant begs for Your Glorious Praises; through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he is saved. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਜਮੁ ਜੋਹਿ ਨ ਸਾਕੈ ਰਤੀ ਅੰਚ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਲਾਈ ॥
Santh Janaa Ko Jam Johi N Saakai Rathee Anch Dhookh N Laaee ||
संत जना कउ जमु जोहि न साकै रती अंच दूख न लाई ॥
The Messenger of Death cannot even touch the humble Saints; it does not cause them even an iota of suffering or pain.
ਆਪਿ ਤਰਹਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੨॥
Aap Tharehi Sagalae Kul Thaarehi Jo Thaeree Saranaaee ||2||
आपि तरहि सगले कुल तारहि जो तेरी सरणाई ॥२॥
Those who enter Your Sanctuary, Lord, save themselves, and save all their ancestors as well. ||2||
ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਹਿ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਏਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Bhagathaa Kee Paij Rakhehi Thoo Aapae Eaeh Thaeree Vaddiaaee ||
भगता की पैज रखहि तू आपे एह तेरी वडिआई ॥
You Yourself save the honor of Your devotees; this is Your Glory, O Lord.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟਹਿ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਰਤੀ ਨ ਰਾਈ ॥੩॥
Janam Janam Kae Kilavikh Dhukh Kaattehi Dhubidhhaa Rathee N Raaee ||3||
जनम जनम के किलविख दुख काटहि दुबिधा रती न राई ॥३॥
You cleanse them of the sins and the pains of countless incarnations; You love them without even an iota of duality. ||3||
ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਿਛੁ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਹਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
Ham Moorr Mugadhh Kishh Boojhehi Naahee Thoo Aapae Dhaehi Bujhaaee ||
हम मूड़ मुगध किछु बूझहि नाही तू आपे देहि बुझाई ॥
I am foolish and ignorant, and understand nothing. You Yourself bless me with understanding.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਸੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥
Jo Thudhh Bhaavai Soee Karasee Avar N Karanaa Jaaee ||4||
जो तुधु भावै सोई करसी अवरु न करणा जाई ॥४॥
You do whatever You please; nothing else can be done at all. ||4||
ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਤੁਧੁ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ਭੂੰਡੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
Jagath Oupaae Thudhh Dhhandhhai Laaeiaa Bhoonddee Kaar Kamaaee ||
जगतु उपाइ तुधु धंधै लाइआ भूंडी कार कमाई ॥
Creating the world, You have linked all to their tasks - even the evil deeds which men do.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰਿਆ ਸਬਦੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥੫॥
Janam Padhaarathh Jooai Haariaa Sabadhai Surath N Paaee ||5||
जनमु पदारथु जूऐ हारिआ सबदै सुरति न पाई ॥५॥
They lose this precious human life in the gamble, and do not understand the Word of the Shabad. ||5||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮਰਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਸੂਝੈ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਧਾਰਾ ॥
Manamukh Marehi Thin Kishhoo N Soojhai Dhuramath Agiaan Andhhaaraa ||
मनमुखि मरहि तिन किछू न सूझै दुरमति अगिआन अंधारा ॥
The self-willed manmukhs die, understanding nothing; they are enveloped by the darkness of evil-mindedness and ignorance.
ਭਵਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਕਬ ਹੀ ਡੂਬਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰਾ ॥੬॥
Bhavajal Paar N Paavehi Kab Hee Ddoob Mueae Bin Gur Sir Bhaaraa ||6||
भवजलु पारि न पावहि कब ही डूबि मुए बिनु गुर सिरि भारा ॥६॥
They do not cross over the terrible world-ocean; without the Guru, they drown and die. ||6||
ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Saachai Sabadh Rathae Jan Saachae Har Prabh Aap Milaaeae ||
साचै सबदि रते जन साचे हरि प्रभि आपि मिलाए ॥
True are those humble beings who are imbued with the True Shabad; the Lord God unites them with Himself.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤੀ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੭॥
Gur Kee Baanee Sabadh Pashhaathee Saach Rehae Liv Laaeae ||7||
गुर की बाणी सबदि पछाती साचि रहे लिव लाए ॥७॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, they come to understand the Shabad. They remain lovingly focused on the True Lord. ||7||
ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
Thoon Aap Niramal Thaerae Jan Hai Niramal Gur Kai Sabadh Veechaarae ||
तूं आपि निरमलु तेरे जन है निरमल गुर कै सबदि वीचारे ॥
You Yourself are Immaculate and Pure, and pure are Your humble servants who contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੨॥੩॥

He alone is a great king, who keeps the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within his heart.
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾਜਾ ॥

जिसु नामु रिदै तिसु पूरे काजा ॥
One who keeps the Naam in his heart - his tasks are perfectly accomplished.
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਧਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
Jis Naam Ridhai Thin Kott Dhhan Paaeae ||
जिसु नामु रिदै तिनि कोटि धन पाए ॥
One who keeps the Naam in his heart, obtains millions of treasures.
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਏ ॥੧॥
Naam Binaa Janam Birathhaa Jaaeae ||1||
नाम बिना जनमु बिरथा जाए ॥१॥
Without the Naam, life is useless. ||1||
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
This Saalaahee Jis Har Dhhan Raas ||
तिसु सालाही जिसु हरि धनु रासि ॥
I praise that person, who has the capital of the Lord's Wealth.
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹਾਥੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
So Vaddabhaagee Jis Gur Masathak Haathh ||1|| Rehaao ||
सो वडभागी जिसु गुर मसतकि हाथु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He is very fortunate, on whose forehead the Guru has placed His Hand. ||1||Pause||

One who keeps the Naam in his heart, has many millions of armies on his side.
ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੈਨਾ ॥
