रामु राजा नउ निधि मेरै ॥
The Sovereign Lord is the nine treasures for me.
ਸੰਪੈ ਹੇਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਧਨੁ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Sanpai Haeth Kalath Dhhan Thaerai ||1|| Rehaao ||
स्मपै हेतु कलतु धनु तेरै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The possessions and the spouse to which the mortal is lovingly attached, are Your wealth, O Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਆਵਤ ਸੰਗ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਸੰਗਾਤੀ ॥
Aavath Sang N Jaath Sangaathee ||
आवत संग न जात संगाती ॥
They do not come with the mortal, and they do not go with him.
ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਹਾਥੀ ॥੨॥
Kehaa Bhaeiou Dhar Baandhhae Haathhee ||2||
कहा भइओ दरि बांधे हाथी ॥२॥
What good does it do him, if he has elephants tied up at his doorway? ||2||
ਲੰਕਾ ਗਢੁ ਸੋਨੇ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ॥
Lankaa Gadt Sonae Kaa Bhaeiaa ||
लंका गढु सोने का भइआ ॥
The fortress of Sri Lanka was made out of gold,
ਮੂਰਖੁ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਲੇ ਗਇਆ ॥੩॥
Moorakh Raavan Kiaa Lae Gaeiaa ||3||
मूरखु रावनु किआ ले गइआ ॥३॥
But what could the foolish Raawan take with him when he left? ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
Kehi Kabeer Kishh Gun Beechaar ||
कहि कबीर किछु गुनु बीचारि ॥
Says Kabeer, think of doing some good deeds.
ਚਲੇ ਜੁਆਰੀ ਦੁਇ ਹਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥
Chalae Juaaree Dhue Hathh Jhaar ||4||2||
चले जुआरी दुइ हथ झारि ॥४॥२॥
In the end, the gambler shall depart empty-handed. ||4||2||
ਮੈਲਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਇੰਦੁ ॥
Mailaa Brehamaa Mailaa Eindh ||
मैला ब्रहमा मैला इंदु ॥
Brahma is polluted, and Indra is polluted.
ਰਵਿ ਮੈਲਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੈ ਚੰਦੁ ॥੧॥
Rav Mailaa Mailaa Hai Chandh ||1||
रवि मैला मैला है चंदु ॥१॥
The sun is polluted, and the moon is polluted. ||1||
ਮੈਲਾ ਮਲਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
Mailaa Malathaa Eihu Sansaar ||
मैला मलता इहु संसारु ॥
This world is polluted with pollution.
ਇਕੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

इकु हरि निरमलु जा का अंतु न पारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Only the One Lord is Immaculate; He has no end or limitation. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਾਇ ਕੈ ਈਸ ॥
Mailae Brehamanddaae Kai Ees ||
मैले ब्रहमंडाइ कै ईस ॥
The rulers of kingdoms are polluted.
ਮੈਲੇ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੀਸ ॥੨॥
Mailae Nis Baasur Dhin Thees ||2||
मैले निसि बासुर दिन तीस ॥२॥
Nights and days, and the days of the month are polluted. ||2||
ਮੈਲਾ ਮੋਤੀ ਮੈਲਾ ਹੀਰੁ ॥
Mailaa Mothee Mailaa Heer ||
मैला मोती मैला हीरु ॥
The pearl is polluted, the diamond is polluted.
ਮੈਲਾ ਪਉਨੁ ਪਾਵਕੁ ਅਰੁ ਨੀਰੁ ॥੩॥
Mailaa Poun Paavak Ar Neer ||3||
मैला पउनु पावकु अरु नीरु ॥३॥
Wind, fire and water are polluted. ||3||
ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਵ ਸੰਕਰਾ ਮਹੇਸ ॥
Mailae Siv Sankaraa Mehaes ||
मैले सिव संकरा महेस ॥
Shiva, Shankara and Mahaysh are polluted.
ਮੈਲੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਅਰੁ ਭੇਖ ॥੪॥
Mailae Sidhh Saadhhik Ar Bhaekh ||4||
मैले सिध साधिक अरु भेख ॥४॥
The Siddhas, seekers and strivers, and those who wear religious robes, are polluted. ||4||
ਮੈਲੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਜੰਗਮ ਜਟਾ ਸਹੇਤਿ ॥
Mailae Jogee Jangam Jattaa Sehaeth ||
मैले जोगी जंगम जटा सहेति ॥
The Yogis and wandering hermits with their matted hair are polluted.
ਮੈਲੀ ਕਾਇਆ ਹੰਸ ਸਮੇਤਿ ॥੫॥
Mailee Kaaeiaa Hans Samaeth ||5||
मैली काइआ हंस समेति ॥५॥
The body, along with the swan-soul, is polluted. ||5||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਨ ॥
Kehi Kabeer Thae Jan Paravaan ||
कहि कबीर ते जन परवान ॥
Says Kabeer, those humble beings are approved and pure,
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਤੇ ਜੋ ਰਾਮਹਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੬॥੩॥
Niramal Thae Jo Raamehi Jaan ||6||3||
निरमल ते जो रामहि जान ॥६॥३॥
Who know the Lord. ||6||3||
ਮਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਕਾ ਕਿਬਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਹੀ ॥
Man Kar Makaa Kibalaa Kar Dhaehee ||
मनु करि मका किबला करि देही ॥
Let your mind be Mecca, and your body the temple of worship.
ਬੋਲਨਹਾਰੁ ਪਰਮ ਗੁਰੁ ਏਹੀ ॥੧॥
Bolanehaar Param Gur Eaehee ||1||
बोलनहारु परम गुरु एही ॥१॥
Let the Supreme Guru be the One who speaks. ||1||
ਕਹੁ ਰੇ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਬਾਂਗ ਨਿਵਾਜ ॥
Kahu Rae Mulaan Baang Nivaaj ||
कहु रे मुलां बांग निवाज ॥
O Mullah, utter the call to prayer.
ਏਕ ਮਸੀਤਿ ਦਸੈ ਦਰਵਾਜ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Eaek Maseeth Dhasai Dharavaaj ||1|| Rehaao ||
एक मसीति दसै दरवाज ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The one mosque has ten doors. ||1||Pause||
ਮਿਸਿਮਿਲਿ ਤਾਮਸੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਦੂਰੀ ॥
Misimil Thaamas Bharam Kadhooree ||
मिसिमिलि तामसु भरमु कदूरी ॥
So slaughter your evil nature, doubt and cruelty;
ਭਾਖਿ ਲੇ ਪੰਚੈ ਹੋਇ ਸਬੂਰੀ ॥੨॥
Bhaakh Lae Panchai Hoe Sabooree ||2||
भाखि ले पंचै होइ सबूरी ॥२॥
Consume the five demons and you shall be blessed with contentment. ||2||
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਏਕ ॥
Hindhoo Thurak Kaa Saahib Eaek ||
हिंदू तुरक का साहिबु एक ॥
Hindus and Muslims have the same One Lord and Master.
ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਕਹ ਕਰੈ ਸੇਖ ॥੩॥
Keh Karai Mulaan Keh Karai Saekh ||3||
कह करै मुलां कह करै सेख ॥३॥
What can the Mullah do, and what can the Shaykh do? ||3||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਹਉ ਭਇਆ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ॥
Kehi Kabeer Ho Bhaeiaa Dhivaanaa ||
कहि कबीर हउ भइआ दिवाना ॥
Says Kabeer, I have gone insane.
ਮੁਸਿ ਮੁਸਿ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੪॥
Mus Mus Manooaa Sehaj Samaanaa ||4||4||
मुसि मुसि मनूआ सहजि समाना ॥४॥४॥
Slaughtering, slaughtering my mind, I have merged into the Celestial Lord. ||4||4||
ਗੰਗਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਬਿਗਰੀ ॥
Gangaa Kai Sang Salithaa Bigaree ||
गंगा कै संगि सलिता बिगरी ॥
When the stream flows into the Ganges,
ਸੋ ਸਲਿਤਾ ਗੰਗਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰੀ ॥੧॥
So Salithaa Gangaa Hoe Nibaree ||1||
सो सलिता गंगा होइ निबरी ॥१॥
Then it becomes the Ganges. ||1||
ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਾਮ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥
Bigariou Kabeeraa Raam Dhuhaaee ||
बिगरिओ कबीरा राम दुहाई ॥
Just so, Kabeer has changed.
ਸਾਚੁ ਭਇਓ ਅਨ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Saach Bhaeiou An Kathehi N Jaaee ||1|| Rehaao ||
साचु भइओ अन कतहि न जाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He has become the Embodiment of Truth, and he does not go anywhere else. ||1||Pause||
ਚੰਦਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥
Chandhan Kai Sang Tharavar Bigariou ||
चंदन कै संगि तरवरु बिगरिओ ॥
Associating with the sandalwood tree, the tree nearby is changed;
ਸੋ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੨॥
So Tharavar Chandhan Hoe Nibariou ||2||
सो तरवरु चंदनु होइ निबरिओ ॥२॥
That tree begins to smell just like the sandalwood tree. ||2||
ਪਾਰਸ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥
Paaras Kai Sang Thaanbaa Bigariou ||
पारस कै संगि तांबा बिगरिओ ॥
Coming into contact with the philosophers' stone, copper is transformed;
ਸੋ ਤਾਂਬਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੩॥
So Thaanbaa Kanchan Hoe Nibariou ||3||
सो तांबा कंचनु होइ निबरिओ ॥३॥
That copper is transformed into gold. ||3||
ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ਬਿਗਰਿਓ ॥
Santhan Sang Kabeeraa Bigariou ||
संतन संगि कबीरा बिगरिओ ॥
In the Society of the Saints, Kabeer is transformed;
ਸੋ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਾਮੈ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਬਰਿਓ ॥੪॥੫॥
So Kabeer Raamai Hoe Nibariou ||4||5||
सो कबीरु रामै होइ निबरिओ ॥४॥५॥
That Kabeer is transformed into the Lord. ||4||5||
ਮਾਥੇ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਹਥਿ ਮਾਲਾ ਬਾਨਾਂ ॥
Maathhae Thilak Hathh Maalaa Baanaan ||
माथे तिलकु हथि माला बानां ॥
Some apply ceremonial marks to their foreheads, hold malas in their hands, and wear religious robes.
ਲੋਗਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਖਿਲਉਨਾ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥੧॥
Logan Raam Khilounaa Jaanaan ||1||
लोगन रामु खिलउना जानां ॥१॥
Some people think that the Lord is a play-thing. ||1||
ਜਉ ਹਉ ਬਉਰਾ ਤਉ ਰਾਮ ਤੋਰਾ ॥
Jo Ho Bouraa Tho Raam Thoraa ||
जउ हउ बउरा तउ राम तोरा ॥
If I am insane, then I am Yours, O Lord.
ਲੋਗੁ ਮਰਮੁ ਕਹ ਜਾਨੈ ਮੋਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Log Maram Keh Jaanai Moraa ||1|| Rehaao ||
लोगु मरमु कह जानै मोरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
How can people know my secret? ||1||Pause||
ਤੋਰਉ ਨ ਪਾਤੀ ਪੂਜਉ ਨ ਦੇਵਾ ॥

तोरउ न पाती पूजउ न देवा ॥
I do not pick leaves as offerings, and I do not worship idols.
ਰਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੨॥
Raam Bhagath Bin Nihafal Saevaa ||2||
राम भगति बिनु निहफल सेवा ॥२॥
Without devotional worship of the Lord, service is useless. ||2||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਾਵਉ ॥
Sathigur Poojo Sadhaa Sadhaa Manaavo ||
सतिगुरु पूजउ सदा सदा मनावउ ॥
I worship the True Guru; forever and ever, I surrender to Him.
ਐਸੀ ਸੇਵ ਦਰਗਹ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥੩॥
Aisee Saev Dharageh Sukh Paavo ||3||
ऐसी सेव दरगह सुखु पावउ ॥३॥
By such service, I find peace in the Court of the Lord. ||3||
ਲੋਗੁ ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ॥

लोगु कहै कबीरु बउराना ॥
People say that Kabeer has gone insane.

कबीर का मरमु राम पहिचानां ॥४॥६॥

ਉਲਟਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਦੋਊ ਬਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
Oulatt Jaath Kul Dhooo Bisaaree ||
उलटि जाति कुल दोऊ बिसारी ॥
Turning away from the world, I have forgotten both my social class and ancestry.
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜ ਮਹਿ ਬੁਨਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
Sunn Sehaj Mehi Bunath Hamaaree ||1||
सुंन सहज महि बुनत हमारी ॥१॥
My weaving now is in the most profound celestial stillness. ||1||
ਹਮਰਾ ਝਗਰਾ ਰਹਾ ਨ ਕੋਊ ॥
Hamaraa Jhagaraa Rehaa N Kooo ||
हमरा झगरा रहा न कोऊ ॥
I have no quarrel with anyone.
