The Lord of the World is my wealth, property, youth and ways and means.

जीअ प्राण नित सुख प्रतिपाल ॥
He continually cherishes and brings peace to my soul and breath of life.

Apanae Dhaas Ko Dhae Raakhai Haathh ||
अपने दास कउ दे राखै हाथ ॥
He reaches out with His Hand and saves His slave.
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਛੋਡੈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸਾਥ ॥੨॥

निमख न छोडै सद ही साथ ॥२॥
He does not abandon us, even for an instant; He is always with us. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਸਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
Har Saa Preetham Avar N Koe ||
हरि सा प्रीतमु अवरु न कोइ ॥
There is no other Beloved like the Lord.
ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
Saar Samhaalae Saachaa Soe ||
सारि सम्हाले साचा सोइ ॥
The True Lord takes care of all.
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧੁ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ॥

मात पिता सुत बंधु नराइणु ॥
The Lord is our Mother, Father, Son and Relation.
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਭਗਤ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਣੁ ॥੩॥

आदि जुगादि भगत गुण गाइणु ॥३॥
Since the beginning of time, and throughout the ages, His devotees sing His Glorious Praises. ||3||
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਧਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੋਰੁ ॥

तिस की धर प्रभ का मनि जोरु ॥
My mind is filled with the Support and the Power of the Lord.
ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
Eaek Binaa Dhoojaa Nehee Hor ||
एक बिना दूजा नही होरु ॥
Without the Lord, there is no other at all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਪੁਰਖਾਰਥੁ ॥

Fear itself becomes afraid, when the mortal remembers the Lord's Name in meditation.
ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਧਿ ਮਿਟੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਹੁ ਗੁਣ ਕੀ ਦਾਸ ਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

सगल बिआधि मिटी त्रिहु गुण की दास के होए पूरन काम ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

Har Kae Lok Sadhaa Gun Gaavehi Thin Ko Miliaa Pooran Dhhaam ||
हरि के लोक सदा गुण गावहि तिन कउ मिलिआ पूरन धाम ॥
The people of the Lord always sing His Glorious Praises; they attain His Perfect Mansion.
ਜਨ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਬਾਂਛੈ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਜਾਮ ॥੧॥
Jan Kaa Dharas Baanshhai Dhin Raathee Hoe Puneeth Dhharam Raae Jaam ||1||
जन का दरसु बांछै दिन राती होइ पुनीत धरम राइ जाम ॥१॥
Even the Righteous Judge of Dharma and the Messenger of Death yearn, day and night, to be sanctified by the Blessed Vision of the Lord's humble servant. ||1||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਮਦ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Lobh Madh Nindhaa Saadhhasang Mittiaa Abhimaan ||
काम क्रोध लोभ मद निंदा साधसंगि मिटिआ अभिमान ॥
Sexual desire, anger, intoxication, egotism, slander and egotistical pride are eradicted in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਭੇਟਹਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥੩੯॥੫੨॥
Aisae Santh Bhaettehi Vaddabhaagee Naanak Thin Kai Sadh Kurabaan ||2||39||52||
ऐसे संत भेटहि वडभागी नानक तिन कै सद कुरबान ॥२॥३९॥५२॥
By great good fortune, such Saints are met. Nanak is forever a sacrifice to them. ||2||39||52||

ਪੰਚ ਮਜਮੀ ਜੋ ਪੰਚਨ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
Panch Majamee Jo Panchan Raakhai ||
पंच मजमी जो पंचन राखै ॥
One who harbors the five thieves, becomes the embodiment of these five.
ਮਿਥਿਆ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਿਤ ਉਠਿ ਭਾਖੈ ॥
Mithhiaa Rasanaa Nith Outh Bhaakhai ||
मिथिआ रसना नित उठि भाखै ॥
He gets up each day and tells lies.
ਚਕ੍ਰ ਬਣਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਪਾਖੰਡ ॥
Chakr Banaae Karai Paakhandd ||
चक्र बणाइ करै पाखंड ॥
He applies ceremonial religious marks to his body, but practices hypocrisy.
ਝੁਰਿ ਝੁਰਿ ਪਚੈ ਜੈਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੰਡ ॥੧॥
Jhur Jhur Pachai Jaisae Thria Randd ||1||
झुरि झुरि पचै जैसे त्रिअ रंड ॥१॥
He wastes away in sadness and pain, like a lonely widow. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਝੂਠੁ ॥
Har Kae Naam Binaa Sabh Jhooth ||
हरि के नाम बिना सभ झूठु ॥
Without the Name of the Lord, everything is false.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂਠੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Bin Gur Poorae Mukath N Paaeeai Saachee Dharagehi Saakath Mooth ||1|| Rehaao ||
बिनु गुर पूरे मुकति न पाईऐ साची दरगहि साकत मूठु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Without the Perfect Guru, liberation is not obtained. In the Court of the True Lord, the faithless cynic is plundered. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋਈ ਕੁਚੀਲੁ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥
Soee Kucheel Kudharath Nehee Jaanai ||
सोई कुचीलु कुदरति नही जानै ॥
One who does not know the Lord's Creative Power is polluted.
ਲੀਪਿਐ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਸੁਚਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਨੈ ॥
Leepiai Thhaae N Such Har Maanai ||
लीपिऐ थाइ न सुचि हरि मानै ॥
Ritualistically plastering one's kitchen square does not make it pure in the Eyes of the Lord.
ਅੰਤਰੁ ਮੈਲਾ ਬਾਹਰੁ ਨਿਤ ਧੋਵੈ ॥
Anthar Mailaa Baahar Nith Dhhovai ||
अंतरु मैला बाहरु नित धोवै ॥
If a person is polluted within, he may wash himself everyday on the outside,
ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਅਪਨੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਵੈ ॥੨॥
Saachee Dharagehi Apanee Path Khovai ||2||
साची दरगहि अपनी पति खोवै ॥२॥
But in the Court of the True Lord, he forfeits his honor. ||2||
ਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਾਉ ॥
Maaeiaa Kaaran Karai Oupaao ||
माइआ कारणि करै उपाउ ॥
He works for the sake of Maya,
ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਘਾਲੈ ਸੀਧਾ ਪਾਉ ॥
Kabehi N Ghaalai Seedhhaa Paao ||
कबहि न घालै सीधा पाउ ॥
But he never places his feet on the right path.
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਨ ਆਣੈ ॥
Jin Keeaa This Cheeth N Aanai ||
जिनि कीआ तिसु चीति न आणै ॥
He never even remembers the One who created him.
ਕੂੜੀ ਕੂੜੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥੩॥
Koorree Koorree Mukhahu Vakhaanai ||3||
कूड़ी कूड़ी मुखहु वखाणै ॥३॥
He speaks falsehood, only falsehood, with his mouth. ||3||
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥
Jis No Karam Karae Karathaar ||
जिस नो करमु करे करतारु ॥
That person, unto whom the Creator Lord shows Mercy,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
Saadhhasang Hoe This Biouhaar ||
साधसंगि होइ तिसु बिउहारु ॥
Deals with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗਾ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
Har Naam Bhagath Sio Laagaa Rang ||
हरि नाम भगति सिउ लागा रंगु ॥
One who lovingly worships the Lord's Name,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਗੁ ॥੪॥੪੦॥੫੩॥
Kahu Naanak This Jan Nehee Bhang ||4||40||53||
कहु नानक तिसु जन नही भंगु ॥४॥४०॥५३॥
Says Nanak - no obstacles ever block his way. ||4||40||53||

ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਝੂਠਾ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥
Nindhak Kaa Jhoothaa Biouhaar ||
निंदक का झूठा बिउहारु ॥
False are the dealings of the slanderer.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਮੈਲਾ ਆਚਾਰੁ ॥
Nindhak Kaa Mailaa Aachaar ||
निंदक का मैला आचारु ॥
The slanderer's lifestyle is filthy and polluted.
ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Dhaas Apunae Ko Raakhanehaar ||1||
दास अपुने कउ राखनहारु ॥१॥
The Lord is the Saving Grace and the Protector of His slave. ||1||
ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਮੁਆ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥
Nindhak Muaa Nindhak Kai Naal ||
निंदकु मुआ निंदक कै नालि ॥
The slanderer dies with the rest of the slanderers.
