Kaasee Kaanthee Puree Dhuaaraa ||
कासी कांती पुरी दुआरा ॥
Benares, Kanchivaram, Puri, Dwaarkaa,
ਗੰਗਾ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਬੇਣੀ ਸੰਗਮੁ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
Gangaa Saagar Baenee Sangam Athasath Ank Samaaee Hae ||9||
गंगा सागरु बेणी संगमु अठसठि अंकि समाई हे ॥९॥
Ganga Saagar where the Ganges empties into the ocean, Trivaynee where the three rivers come together, and the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, are all merged in the Lord's Being. ||9||
ਆਪੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
Aapae Sidhh Saadhhik Veechaaree ||
आपे सिध साधिकु वीचारी ॥
He Himself is the Siddha, the seeker, in meditative contemplation.
ਆਪੇ ਰਾਜਨੁ ਪੰਚਾ ਕਾਰੀ ॥
Aapae Raajan Panchaa Kaaree ||
आपे राजनु पंचा कारी ॥
He Himself is the King and the Council.
ਤਖਤਿ ਬਹੈ ਅਦਲੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਭੇਦੁ ਭਉ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
Thakhath Behai Adhalee Prabh Aapae Bharam Bhaedh Bho Jaaee Hae ||10||
तखति बहै अदली प्रभु आपे भरमु भेदु भउ जाई हे ॥१०॥
God Himself, the wise Judge, sits on the throne; He takes away doubt, duality and fear. ||10||
ਆਪੇ ਕਾਜੀ ਆਪੇ ਮੁਲਾ ॥
Aapae Kaajee Aapae Mulaa ||
आपे काजी आपे मुला ॥
He Himself is the Qazi; He Himself is the Mullah.
ਆਪਿ ਅਭੁਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਭੁਲਾ ॥
Aap Abhul N Kabehoo Bhulaa ||
आपि अभुलु न कबहू भुला ॥
He Himself is infallible; He never makes mistakes.
ਆਪੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਇਆਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
Aapae Mihar Dhaeiaapath Dhaathaa Naa Kisai Ko Bairaaee Hae ||11||
आपे मिहर दइआपति दाता ना किसै को बैराई हे ॥११॥
He Himself is the Giver of Grace, compassion and honor; He is no one's enemy. ||11||
ਜਿਸੁ ਬਖਸੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Jis Bakhasae This Dhae Vaddiaaee ||
जिसु बखसे तिसु दे वडिआई ॥
Whoever He forgives, He blesses with glorious greatness.
ਸਭਸੈ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਈ ॥
Sabhasai Dhaathaa Thil N Thamaaee ||
सभसै दाता तिलु न तमाई ॥
He is the Giver of all; He does not have even an iota of greed.
ਭਰਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲੁ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
Bharapur Dhhaar Rehiaa Nihakaeval Gupath Pragatt Sabh Thaaee Hae ||12||
भरपुरि धारि रहिआ निहकेवलु गुपतु प्रगटु सभ ठाई हे ॥१२॥
The Immaculate Lord is all pervading, permeating everywhere, both hidden and manifest. ||12||
ਕਿਆ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੈ ॥
Kiaa Saalaahee Agam Apaarai ||
किआ सालाही अगम अपारै ॥
How can I praise the inaccessible, infinite Lord?
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਮੁਰਾਰੈ ॥
Saachae Sirajanehaar Muraarai ||
साचे सिरजणहार मुरारै ॥
The True Creator Lord is the Enemy of ego.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੇਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
Jis No Nadhar Karae This Maelae Mael Milai Maelaaee Hae ||13||
जिस नो नदरि करे तिसु मेले मेलि मिलै मेलाई हे ॥१३॥
He unites those whom He blesses with His Grace; uniting them in His Union, they are united. ||13||
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
Brehamaa Bisan Mehaes Dhuaarai ||
ब्रहमा बिसनु महेसु दुआरै ॥
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva stand at His Door;
ਊਭੇ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੈ ॥
Oobhae Saevehi Alakh Apaarai ||
ऊभे सेवहि अलख अपारै ॥
They serve the unseen, infinite Lord.
ਹੋਰ ਕੇਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਦੀਸੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਦੀ ਮੈ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥
Hor Kaethee Dhar Dheesai Bilalaadhee Mai Ganath N Aavai Kaaee Hae ||14||
होर केती दरि दीसै बिललादी मै गणत न आवै काई हे ॥१४॥
Millions of others can be seen crying at His door; I cannot even estimate their numbers. ||14||
ਸਾਚੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Saachee Keerath Saachee Baanee ||
साची कीरति साची बाणी ॥
True is the Kirtan of His Praise, and True is the Word of His Bani.
ਹੋਰ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ॥
Hor N Dheesai Baedh Puraanee ||
होर न दीसै बेद पुराणी ॥
I can see no other in the Vedas and the Puraanas.
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਚੁ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਮੈ ਧਰ ਹੋਰ ਨ ਕਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
Poonjee Saach Sachae Gun Gaavaa Mai Dhhar Hor N Kaaee Hae ||15||
पूंजी साचु सचे गुण गावा मै धर होर न काई हे ॥१५॥
Truth is my capital; I sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord. I have no other support at all. ||15||
ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਹੈ ਭੀ ਹੋਸੀ ॥
Jug Jug Saachaa Hai Bhee Hosee ||
जुगु जुगु साचा है भी होसी ॥
In each and every age, the True Lord is, and shall always be.
ਕਉਣੁ ਨ ਮੂਆ ਕਉਣੁ ਨ ਮਰਸੀ ॥
Koun N Mooaa Koun N Marasee ||
कउणु न मूआ कउणु न मरसी ॥
Who has not died? Who shall not die?
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਨੀਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਦਰਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥੨॥
Naanak Neech Kehai Baenanthee Dhar Dhaekhahu Liv Laaee Hae ||16||2||
नानकु नीचु कहै बेनंती दरि देखहु लिव लाई हे ॥१६॥२॥
Nanak the lowly offers this prayer; see Him within your own self, and lovingly focus on the Lord. ||16||2||

दूजी दुरमति अंनी बोली ॥
In duality and evil-mindedness, the soul-bride is blind and deaf.
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੀ ਕਚੀ ਚੋਲੀ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Kee Kachee Cholee ||
काम क्रोध की कची चोली ॥
She wears the dress of sexual desire and anger.
ਘਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਛੋਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਿਰ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਪਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੧॥
Ghar Var Sehaj N Jaanai Shhohar Bin Pir Needh N Paaee Hae ||1||
घरि वरु सहजु न जाणै छोहरि बिनु पिर नीद न पाई हे ॥१॥
Her Husband Lord is within the home of her own heart, but she does not know Him; without her Husband Lord, she cannot go to sleep. ||1||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਜਲੈ ਭੜਕਾਰੇ ॥
Anthar Agan Jalai Bharrakaarae ||
अंतरि अगनि जलै भड़कारे ॥
The great fire of desire blazes within her.
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਤਕੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਚਾਰੇ ॥
Manamukh Thakae Kunddaa Chaarae ||
मनमुखु तके कुंडा चारे ॥
The self-willed manmukh looks around in the four directions.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਚੇ ਹਾਥਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੨॥
Bin Sathigur Saevae Kio Sukh Paaeeai Saachae Haathh Vaddaaee Hae ||2||
बिनु सतिगुर सेवे किउ सुखु पाईऐ साचे हाथि वडाई हे ॥२॥
Without serving the True Guru, how can she find peace? Glorious greatness rests in the hands of the True Lord. ||2||
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Ahankaar Nivaarae ||
कामु क्रोधु अहंकारु निवारे ॥
Eradicating sexual desire, anger and egotism,
ਤਸਕਰ ਪੰਚ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
Thasakar Panch Sabadh Sanghaarae ||
तसकर पंच सबदि संघारे ॥
She destroys the five thieves through the Word of the Shabad.
ਗਿਆਨ ਖੜਗੁ ਲੈ ਮਨ ਸਿਉ ਲੂਝੈ ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੩॥
Giaan Kharrag Lai Man Sio Loojhai Manasaa Manehi Samaaee Hae ||3||
गिआन खड़गु लै मन सिउ लूझै मनसा मनहि समाई हे ॥३॥
Taking up the sword of spiritual wisdom, she struggles with her mind, and hope and desire are smoothed over in her mind. ||3||
ਮਾ ਕੀ ਰਕਤੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਿਦੁ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
Maa Kee Rakath Pithaa Bidh Dhhaaraa ||
मा की रकतु पिता बिदु धारा ॥
From the union of the mother's egg and the father's sperm,
ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸੂਰਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਆਪਾਰਾ ॥
Moorath Soorath Kar Aapaaraa ||
मूरति सूरति करि आपारा ॥
The form of infinite beauty has been created.
ਜੋਤਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਜੇਤੀ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
Joth Dhaath Jaethee Sabh Thaeree Thoo Karathaa Sabh Thaaee Hae ||4||
जोति दाति जेती सभ तेरी तू करता सभ ठाई हे ॥४॥
The blessings of light all come from You; You are the Creator Lord, pervading everywhere. ||4||
ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਕੀਆ ਜੰਮਣ ਮਰਣਾ ॥
Thujh Hee Keeaa Janman Maranaa ||
तुझ ही कीआ जमण मरणा ॥
You have created birth and death.
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਪੜੀ ਕਿਆ ਡਰਣਾ ॥
Gur Thae Samajh Parree Kiaa Ddaranaa ||
गुर ते समझ पड़ी किआ डरणा ॥
Why should anyone fear, if they come to understand through the Guru?
ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਰੀਰਹੁ ਜਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
Thoo Dhaeiaal Dhaeiaa Kar Dhaekhehi Dhukh Dharadh Sareerahu Jaaee Hae ||5||
तू दइआलु दइआ करि देखहि दुखु दरदु सरीरहु जाई हे ॥५॥
When You, O Merciful Lord, look with Your kindness, then pain and suffering leave the body. ||5||
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਰਹੇ ਭਉ ਖਾਇਆ ॥
Nij Ghar Bais Rehae Bho Khaaeiaa ||
निज घरि बैसि रहे भउ खाइआ ॥
One who sits in the home of his own self, eats his own fears.
ਧਾਵਤ ਰਾਖੇ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਇਆ ॥
Dhhaavath Raakhae Thaak Rehaaeiaa ||
धावत राखे ठाकि रहाइआ ॥
He quiets and holds his wandering mind still.
ਕਮਲ ਬਿਗਾਸ ਹਰੇ ਸਰ ਸੁਭਰ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
Kamal Bigaas Harae Sar Subhar Aatham Raam Sakhaaee Hae ||6||
कमल बिगास हरे सर सुभर आतम रामु सखाई हे ॥६॥
His heart-lotus blossoms forth in the overflowing green pool, and the Lord of his soul becomes his companion and helper. ||6||
ਮਰਣੁ ਲਿਖਾਇ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
Maran Likhaae Manddal Mehi Aaeae ||
मरणु लिखाइ मंडल महि आए ॥
With their death already ordained, mortals come into this world.
ਕਿਉ ਰਹੀਐ ਚਲਣਾ ਪਰਥਾਏ ॥
Kio Reheeai Chalanaa Parathhaaeae ||
किउ रहीऐ चलणा परथाए ॥
How can they remain here? They have to go to the world beyond.
ਸਚਾ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਚੇ ਅਮਰਾ ਪੁਰਿ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਾਈ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
Sachaa Amar Sachae Amaraa Pur So Sach Milai Vaddaaee Hae ||7||
सचा अमरु सचे अमरा पुरि सो सचु मिलै वडाई हे ॥७॥
True is the Lord's Command; the true ones dwell in the eternal city. The True Lord blesses them with glorious greatness. ||7||
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਜਗਤੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥
Aap Oupaaeiaa Jagath Sabaaeiaa ||
आपि उपाइआ जगतु सबाइआ ॥
He Himself created the whole world.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਧੰਧੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Jin Siriaa Thin Dhhandhhai Laaeiaa ||
जिनि सिरिआ तिनि धंधै लाइआ ॥
The One who made it, assigns the tasks to it.
