अनहदु वाजै भ्रमु भउ भाजै ॥
When the unstruck sound current resounds, doubt and fear run away.
ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਛਾਜੈ ॥
Sagal Biaap Rehiaa Prabh Shhaajai ||
सगल बिआपि रहिआ प्रभु छाजै ॥
God is all-pervading, giving shade to all.
ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਹੈ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
Sabh Thaeree Thoo Guramukh Jaathaa Dhar Sohai Gun Gaaeidhaa ||10||
सभ तेरी तू गुरमुखि जाता दरि सोहै गुण गाइदा ॥१०॥
All belong to You; to the Gurmukhs, You are known. Singing Your Praises, they look beautiful in Your Court. ||10||
ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
Aadh Niranjan Niramal Soee ||
आदि निरंजनु निरमलु सोई ॥
He is the Primal Lord, immaculate and pure.
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥
Avar N Jaanaa Dhoojaa Koee ||
अवरु न जाणा दूजा कोई ॥
I know of no other at all.
ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਗਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
Eaekankaar Vasai Man Bhaavai Houmai Garab Gavaaeidhaa ||11||
एकंकारु वसै मनि भावै हउमै गरबु गवाइदा ॥११॥
The One Universal Creator Lord dwells within, and is pleasing to the mind of those who banishe egotism and pride. ||11||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
Anmrith Peeaa Sathigur Dheeaa ||
अम्रितु पीआ सतिगुरि दीआ ॥
I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar, given by the True Guru.
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਾ ਦੂਆ ਤੀਆ ॥
Avar N Jaanaa Dhooaa Theeaa ||
अवरु न जाणा दूआ तीआ ॥
I do not know any other second or third.
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਸੁ ਅਪਰ ਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਪਰਖਿ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
Eaeko Eaek S Apar Paranpar Parakh Khajaanai Paaeidhaa ||12||
एको एकु सु अपर पर्मपरु परखि खजानै पाइदा ॥१२॥
He is the One, Unique, Infinite and Endless Lord; He evaluates all beings and places some in His treasury. ||12||
ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ ॥
Giaan Dhhiaan Sach Gehir Ganbheeraa ||
गिआनु धिआनु सचु गहिर ग्मभीरा ॥
Spiritual wisdom and meditation on the True Lord are deep and profound.
ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਚੀਰਾ ॥
Koe N Jaanai Thaeraa Cheeraa ||
कोइ न जाणै तेरा चीरा ॥
No one knows Your expanse.
ਜੇਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਤੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
Jaethee Hai Thaethee Thudhh Jaachai Karam Milai So Paaeidhaa ||13||
जेती है तेती तुधु जाचै करमि मिलै सो पाइदा ॥१३॥
All that are, beg from You; You are attained only by Your Grace. ||13||
ਕਰਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ ॥
Karam Dhharam Sach Haathh Thumaarai ||
करमु धरमु सचु हाथि तुमारै ॥
You hold karma and Dharma in Your hands, O True Lord.
ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਅਖੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰੈ ॥
Vaeparavaah Akhutt Bhanddaarai ||
वेपरवाह अखुट भंडारै ॥
O Independent Lord, Your treasures are inexhaustible.
ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
Thoo Dhaeiaal Kirapaal Sadhaa Prabh Aapae Mael Milaaeidhaa ||14||
तू दइआलु किरपालु सदा प्रभु आपे मेलि मिलाइदा ॥१४॥
You are forever kind and compassionate, God. You unite in Your Union. ||14||
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਆਪੇ ॥
Aapae Dhaekh Dhikhaavai Aapae ||
आपे देखि दिखावै आपे ॥
You Yourself see, and cause Yourself to be seen.
ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ਆਪੇ ॥
Aapae Thhaap Outhhaapae Aapae ||
आपे थापि उथापे आपे ॥
You Yourself establish, and You Yourself disestablish.
ਆਪੇ ਜੋੜਿ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
Aapae Jorr Vishhorrae Karathaa Aapae Maar Jeevaaeidhaa ||15||
आपे जोड़ि विछोड़े करता आपे मारि जीवाइदा ॥१५॥
The Creator Himself unites and separates; He Himself kills and rejuvenates. ||15||
ਜੇਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਤੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ॥
Jaethee Hai Thaethee Thudhh Andhar ||
जेती है तेती तुधु अंदरि ॥
As much as there is, is contained within You.
ਦੇਖਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਬਿਜ ਮੰਦਰਿ ॥
Dhaekhehi Aap Bais Bij Mandhar ||
देखहि आपि बैसि बिज मंदरि ॥
You gaze upon Your creation, sitting within Your royal palace.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੧੩॥

If I am pleasing to You, Lord, then I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.

भाइ भगति साचे गुण गावा ॥
In loving devotional worship, O True Lord, I sing Your Glorious Praises.
ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣੇ ਤੂ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਇਦਾ ॥੧॥
Thudhh Bhaanae Thoo Bhaavehi Karathae Aapae Rasan Rasaaeidhaa ||1||
तुधु भाणे तू भावहि करते आपे रसन रसाइदा ॥१॥
By Your Will, O Creator Lord, You have become pleasing to me, and so sweet to my tongue. ||1||
ਸੋਹਨਿ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ ॥

सोहनि भगत प्रभू दरबारे ॥
The devotees look beautiful in the Darbaar, the Court of God.
ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥
Mukath Bheae Har Dhaas Thumaarae ||
मुकतु भए हरि दास तुमारे ॥
Your slaves, Lord, are liberated.
ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੨॥
Aap Gavaae Thaerai Rang Raathae Anadhin Naam Dhhiaaeidhaa ||2||
आपु गवाइ तेरै रंगि राते अनदिनु नामु धिआइदा ॥२॥
Eradicating self-conceit, they are attuned to Your Love; night and day, they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||
ਈਸਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥
Eesar Brehamaa Dhaevee Dhaevaa ||
ईसरु ब्रहमा देवी देवा ॥
Shiva, Brahma, gods and goddesses,
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਤਪੇ ਮੁਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
Eindhr Thapae Mun Thaeree Saevaa ||
इंद्र तपे मुनि तेरी सेवा ॥
Indra, ascetics and silent sages serve You.
ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਕੇਤੇ ਬਨਵਾਸੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੩॥
Jathee Sathee Kaethae Banavaasee Anth N Koee Paaeidhaa ||3||
जती सती केते बनवासी अंतु न कोई पाइदा ॥३॥
Celibates, givers of charity and the many forest-dwellers have not found the Lord's limits. ||3||
ਵਿਣੁ ਜਾਣਾਏ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
Vin Jaanaaeae Koe N Jaanai ||
विणु जाणाए कोइ न जाणै ॥
No one knows You, unless You let them know You.
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੈ ॥
Jo Kishh Karae S Aapan Bhaanai ||
जो किछु करे सु आपण भाणै ॥
Whatever is done, is by Your Will.
ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੀਅ ਉਪਾਏ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਾਹ ਲਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੪॥
Lakh Chouraaseeh Jeea Oupaaeae Bhaanai Saah Lavaaeidhaa ||4||
लख चउरासीह जीअ उपाए भाणै साह लवाइदा ॥४॥
You created the 8.4 million species of beings; by Your Will, they draw their breath. ||4||
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਉ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
Jo This Bhaavai So Nihacho Hovai ||
जो तिसु भावै सो निहचउ होवै ॥
Whatever is pleasing to Your Will, undoubtedly comes to pass.
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਏ ਰੋਵੈ ॥
Manamukh Aap Ganaaeae Rovai ||
मनमुखु आपु गणाए रोवै ॥
The self-willed manmukh shows off, and comes to grief.
ਨਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਆਇ ਜਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੫॥
Naavahu Bhulaa Thour N Paaeae Aae Jaae Dhukh Paaeidhaa ||5||
नावहु भुला ठउर न पाए आइ जाइ दुखु पाइदा ॥५॥
Forgetting the Name, he finds no place of rest; coming and going in reincarnation, he suffers in pain. ||5||
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਾਇਆ ਊਜਲ ਹੰਸਾ ॥
Niramal Kaaeiaa Oojal Hansaa ||
निरमल काइआ ऊजल हंसा ॥
Pure is the body, and immaculate is the swan-soul;
ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਅੰਸਾ ॥
This Vich Naam Niranjan Ansaa ||
तिसु विचि नामु निरंजन अंसा ॥
Within it is the immaculate essence of the Naam.
ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੀਵੈ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
Sagalae Dhookh Anmrith Kar Peevai Baahurr Dhookh N Paaeidhaa ||6||
सगले दूख अम्रितु करि पीवै बाहुड़ि दूखु न पाइदा ॥६॥
Such a being drinks in all his pains like Ambrosial Nectar; he never suffers sorrow again. ||6||
ਬਹੁ ਸਾਦਹੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
Bahu Saadhahu Dhookh Paraapath Hovai ||
बहु सादहु दूखु परापति होवै ॥
For his excessive indulgences, he receives only pain;
ਭੋਗਹੁ ਰੋਗ ਸੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਵਿਗੋਵੈ ॥
Bhogahu Rog S Anth Vigovai ||
भोगहु रोग सु अंति विगोवै ॥
From his enjoyments, he contracts diseases, and in the end, he wastes away.
ਹਰਖਹੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਮਿਟਈ ਕਬਹੂ ਵਿਣੁ ਭਾਣੇ ਭਰਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
Harakhahu Sog N Mittee Kabehoo Vin Bhaanae Bharamaaeidhaa ||7||
हरखहु सोगु न मिटई कबहू विणु भाणे भरमाइदा ॥७॥
His pleasure can never erase his pain; without accepting the Lord's Will, he wanders lost and confused. ||7||
ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ਭਵੈ ਸਬਾਈ ॥
Giaan Vihoonee Bhavai Sabaaee ||
गिआन विहूणी भवै सबाई ॥
Without spiritual wisdom, they all just wander around.
ਸਾਚਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
Saachaa Rav Rehiaa Liv Laaee ||
साचा रवि रहिआ लिव लाई ॥
The True Lord is pervading and permeating everywhere, lovingly engaged.
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
Nirabho Sabadh Guroo Sach Jaathaa Jothee Joth Milaaeidhaa ||8||
निरभउ सबदु गुरू सचु जाता जोती जोति मिलाइदा ॥८॥
The Fearless Lord is known through the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru; one's light merges into the Light. ||8||
ਅਟਲੁ ਅਡੋਲੁ ਅਤੋਲੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
Attal Addol Athol Muraarae ||
अटलु अडोलु अतोलु मुरारे ॥
He is the eternal, unchanging, immeasurable Lord.
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਢਾਹੇ ਫੇਰਿ ਉਸਾਰੇ ॥
Khin Mehi Dtaahi Faer Ousaarae ||
खिन महि ढाहे फेरि उसारे ॥
In an instant, He destroys, ang then reconstructs.
ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਪਤੀਆਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
Roop N Raekhiaa Mith Nehee Keemath Sabadh Bhaedh Patheeaaeidhaa ||9||
रूपु न रेखिआ मिति नही कीमति सबदि भेदि पतीआइदा ॥९॥
He has no form or shape, no limit or value. Pierced by the Shabad, one is satisfied. ||9||
