Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਕੀਨੀ ਦਇਆ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੁਸਾਈ ॥
Keenee Dhaeiaa Gopaal Gusaaee ||
कीनी दइआ गोपाल गुसाई ॥
The Life of the World, the Sustainer of the Earth, has showered His Mercy;
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਵਸੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
Gur Kae Charan Vasae Man Maahee ||
गुर के चरण वसे मन माही ॥
The Guru's Feet have come to dwell within my mind.
ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਦੁਖ ਕਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਢਾਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Angeekaar Keeaa Thin Karathai Dhukh Kaa Ddaeraa Dtaahiaa Jeeo ||1||
अंगीकारु कीआ तिनि करतै दुख का डेरा ढाहिआ जीउ ॥१॥
The Creator has made me His Own. He has destroyed the city of sorrow. ||1||
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
Man Than Vasiaa Sachaa Soee ||
मनि तनि वसिआ सचा सोई ॥
The True One abides within my mind and body;
ਬਿਖੜਾ ਥਾਨੁ ਨ ਦਿਸੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
Bikharraa Thhaan N Dhisai Koee ||
बिखड़ा थानु न दिसै कोई ॥
No place seems difficult to me now.
ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਮਣ ਸਭਿ ਸਜਣ ਹੋਏ ਏਕੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Dhooth Dhusaman Sabh Sajan Hoeae Eaeko Suaamee Aahiaa Jeeo ||2||
दूत दुसमण सभि सजण होए एको सुआमी आहिआ जीउ ॥२॥
All the evil-doers and enemies have now become my friends. I long only for my Lord and Master. ||2||
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪੈ ॥
Jo Kishh Karae S Aapae Aapai ||
जो किछु करे सु आपे आपै ॥
Whatever He does, He does all by Himself.
ਬੁਧਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਪੈ ॥
Budhh Siaanap Kishhoo N Jaapai ||
बुधि सिआणप किछू न जापै ॥
No one can know His Ways.
ਆਪਣਿਆ ਸੰਤਾ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਸਹਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਭਰਮ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ ਲਾਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Aapaniaa Santhaa No Aap Sehaaee Prabh Bharam Bhulaavaa Laahiaa Jeeo ||3||
आपणिआ संता नो आपि सहाई प्रभि भरम भुलावा लाहिआ जीउ ॥३॥
He Himself is the Helper and Support of His Saints. God has cast out my doubts and delusions. ||3||
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਆਧਾਰੋ ॥
Charan Kamal Jan Kaa Aadhhaaro ||
चरण कमल जन का आधारो ॥
His Lotus Feet are the Support of His humble servants.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਾਪਾਰੋ ॥
Aath Pehar Raam Naam Vaapaaro ||
आठ पहर राम नामु वापारो ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, they deal in the Name of the Lord.
ਸਹਜ ਅਨੰਦ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਬ ਸਮਾਹਿਆ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੬॥੪੩॥
Sehaj Anandh Gaavehi Gun Govindh Prabh Naanak Sarab Samaahiaa Jeeo ||4||36||43||
सहज अनंद गावहि गुण गोविंद प्रभ नानक सरब समाहिआ जीउ ॥४॥३६॥४३॥
In peace and pleasure, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. O Nanak, God is permeating everywhere. ||4||36||43||

माझ महला ५ ॥
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
So Sach Mandhar Jith Sach Dhhiaaeeai ||
सो सचु मंदरु जितु सचु धिआईऐ ॥
True is that temple, within which one meditates on the True Lord.
ਸੋ ਰਿਦਾ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
So Ridhaa Suhaelaa Jith Har Gun Gaaeeai ||
सो रिदा सुहेला जितु हरि गुण गाईऐ ॥
Blessed is that heart, within which the Lord's Glorious Praises are sung.
ਸਾ ਧਰਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਵਸਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੋ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Saa Dhharath Suhaavee Jith Vasehi Har Jan Sachae Naam Vittahu Kurabaano Jeeo ||1||
सा धरति सुहावी जितु वसहि हरि जन सचे नाम विटहु कुरबाणो जीउ ॥१॥
Beautiful is that land, where the Lord's humble servants dwell. I am a sacrifice to the True Name. ||1||
ਸਚੁ ਵਡਾਈ ਕੀਮ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
Sach Vaddaaee Keem N Paaee ||
सचु वडाई कीम न पाई ॥
The extent of the True Lord's Greatness cannot be known.
ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕਰਮੁ ਨ ਕਹਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥
Kudharath Karam N Kehanaa Jaaee ||
कुदरति करमु न कहणा जाई ॥
His Creative Power and His Bounties cannot be described.
ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਮਨਿ ਮਾਣੋ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Dhhiaae Dhhiaae Jeevehi Jan Thaerae Sach Sabadh Man Maano Jeeo ||2||
धिआइ धिआइ जीवहि जन तेरे सचु सबदु मनि माणो जीउ ॥२॥
Your humble servants live by meditating, meditating on You. Their minds treasure the True Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Sach Saalaahan Vaddabhaagee Paaeeai ||
सचु सालाहणु वडभागी पाईऐ ॥
The Praises of the True One are obtained by great good fortune.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
Gur Parasaadhee Har Gun Gaaeeai ||
गुर परसादी हरि गुण गाईऐ ॥
By Guru's Grace, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.
ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੋ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Rang Rathae Thaerai Thudhh Bhaavehi Sach Naam Neesaano Jeeo ||3||
रंगि रते तेरै तुधु भावहि सचु नामु नीसाणो जीउ ॥३॥
Those who are imbued with Your Love are pleasing to You. The True Name is their Banner and Insignia. ||3||
ਸਚੇ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
Sachae Anth N Jaanai Koee ||
सचे अंतु न जाणै कोई ॥
No one knows the limits of the True Lord.
ਥਾਨਿ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
Thhaan Thhananthar Sachaa Soee ||
थानि थनंतरि सचा सोई ॥
In all places and interspaces, the True One is pervading.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਣੋ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੭॥੪੪॥
Naanak Sach Dhhiaaeeai Sadh Hee Antharajaamee Jaano Jeeo ||4||37||44||
नानक सचु धिआईऐ सद ही अंतरजामी जाणो जीउ ॥४॥३७॥४४॥
O Nanak, meditate forever on the True One, the Searcher of hearts, the Knower of all. ||4||37||44||

ਰੈਣਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥
Rain Suhaavarree Dhinas Suhaelaa ||
रैणि सुहावड़ी दिनसु सुहेला ॥
Beautiful is the night, and beautiful is the day,
ਜਪਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲਾ ॥
Jap Anmrith Naam Santhasang Maelaa ||
जपि अम्रित नामु संतसंगि मेला ॥
When one joins the Society of the Saints and chants the Ambrosial Naam.
ਘੜੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਲ ਵੰਞਹਿ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਤਿਥਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Gharree Moorath Simarath Pal Vannjehi Jeevan Safal Thithhaaee Jeeo ||1||
घड़ी मूरत सिमरत पल वंञहि जीवणु सफलु तिथाई जीउ ॥१॥
If you remember the Lord in meditation for a moment, even for an instant, then your life will become fruitful and prosperous. ||1||
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਥੇ ॥
Simarath Naam Dhokh Sabh Laathhae ||
सिमरत नामु दोख सभि लाथे ॥
Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all sinful mistakes are erased.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਥੇ ॥
Anthar Baahar Har Prabh Saathhae ||
अंतरि बाहरि हरि प्रभु साथे ॥
Inwardly and outwardly, the Lord God is always with us.
ਭੈ ਭਉ ਭਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Bhai Bho Bharam Khoeiaa Gur Poorai Dhaekhaa Sabhanee Jaaee Jeeo ||2||
भै भउ भरमु खोइआ गुरि पूरै देखा सभनी जाई जीउ ॥२॥
Fear, dread and doubt have been dispelled by the Perfect Guru; now, I see God everywhere. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡ ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Prabh Samarathh Vadd Ooch Apaaraa ||
प्रभु समरथु वड ऊच अपारा ॥
God is All-powerful, Vast, Lofty and Infinite.
ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
No Nidhh Naam Bharae Bhanddaaraa ||
नउ निधि नामु भरे भंडारा ॥
The Naam is overflowing with the nine treasures.
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Aadh Anth Madhh Prabh Soee Dhoojaa Lavai N Laaee Jeeo ||3||
आदि अंति मधि प्रभु सोई दूजा लवै न लाई जीउ ॥३॥
In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, there is God. Nothing else even comes close to Him. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Maerae Dheen Dhaeiaalaa ||
करि किरपा मेरे दीन दइआला ॥
Take pity on me, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek.
ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥
Jaachik Jaachai Saadhh Ravaalaa ||
जाचिकु जाचै साध रवाला ॥
I am a beggar, begging for the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੪੫॥
Dhaehi Dhaan Naanak Jan Maagai Sadhaa Sadhaa Har Dhhiaaee Jeeo ||4||38||45||
देहि दानु नानकु जनु मागै सदा सदा हरि धिआई जीउ ॥४॥३८॥४५॥
Servant Nanak begs for this gift: let me meditate on the Lord, forever and ever. ||4||38||45||

ਐਥੈ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਆਗੈ ਆਪੇ ॥
Aithhai Thoonhai Aagai Aapae ||
ऐथै तूंहै आगै आपे ॥
You are here, and You are hereafter.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਥਾਪੇ ॥
Jeea Janthr Sabh Thaerae Thhaapae ||
जीअ जंत्र सभि तेरे थापे ॥
All beings and creatures were created by You.
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਕਰਤੇ ਮੈ ਧਰ ਓਟ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Thudhh Bin Avar N Koee Karathae Mai Dhhar Outt Thumaaree Jeeo ||1||
तुधु बिनु अवरु न कोई करते मै धर ओट तुमारी जीउ ॥१॥
Without You, there is no other, O Creator. You are my Support and my Protection. ||1||
ਰਸਨਾ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Rasanaa Jap Jap Jeevai Suaamee ||
रसना जपि जपि जीवै सुआमी ॥
The tongue lives by chanting and meditating on the Lord's Name.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
Paarabreham Prabh Antharajaamee ||
पारब्रहम प्रभ अंतरजामी ॥
The Supreme Lord God is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਜਿਨਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Jin Saeviaa Thin Hee Sukh Paaeiaa So Janam N Jooai Haaree Jeeo ||2||
जिनि सेविआ तिन ही सुखु पाइआ सो जनमु न जूऐ हारी जीउ ॥२॥
Those who serve the Lord find peace; they do not lose their lives in the gamble. ||2||
ਨਾਮੁ ਅਵਖਧੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨ ਤੇਰੈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Naam Avakhadhh Jin Jan Thaerai Paaeiaa ||
नामु अवखधु जिनि जन तेरै पाइआ ॥
