ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਾ ਖੜਿ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਦੀਤ ॥੭॥
Chith N Aaeiou Paarabreham Thaa Kharr Rasaathal Dheeth ||7||
चिति न आइओ पारब्रहमु ता खड़ि रसातलि दीत ॥७॥
But still, if you do not come to remember the Supreme Lord God, then you shall be taken and consigned to the most hideous hell! ||7||
ਕਾਇਆ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾੜਾ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
Kaaeiaa Rog N Shhidhra Kishh Naa Kishh Kaarraa Sog ||
काइआ रोगु न छिद्रु किछु ना किछु काड़ा सोगु ॥
You may have a body free of disease and deformity, and have no worries or grief at all;
ਮਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਆਵੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਗੈ ਭੋਗੁ ॥
Mirath N Aavee Chith This Ahinis Bhogai Bhog ||
मिरतु न आवी चिति तिसु अहिनिसि भोगै भोगु ॥
You may be unmindful of death, and night and day revel in pleasures;
ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਤੋਨੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਇ ਨ ਸੰਕ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
Sabh Kishh Keethon Aapanaa Jeee N Sank Dhhariaa ||
सभ किछु कीतोनु आपणा जीइ न संक धरिआ ॥
You may take everything as your own, and have no fear in your mind at all;
ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਇਓ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਜਮਕੰਕਰ ਵਸਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੮॥
Chith N Aaeiou Paarabreham Jamakankar Vas Pariaa ||8||
चिति न आइओ पारब्रहमु जमकंकर वसि परिआ ॥८॥
But still, if you do not come to remember the Supreme Lord God, you shall fall under the power of the Messenger of Death. ||8||
ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
Kirapaa Karae Jis Paarabreham Hovai Saadhhoo Sang ||
किरपा करे जिसु पारब्रहमु होवै साधू संगु ॥
The Supreme Lord showers His Mercy, and we find the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਜਿਉ ਜਿਉ ਓਹੁ ਵਧਾਈਐ ਤਿਉ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ॥
Jio Jio Ouhu Vadhhaaeeai Thio Thio Har Sio Rang ||
जिउ जिउ ओहु वधाईऐ तिउ तिउ हरि सिउ रंगु ॥
The more time we spend there, the more we come to love the Lord.
ਦੁਹਾ ਸਿਰਿਆ ਕਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਥਾਉ ॥
Dhuhaa Siriaa Kaa Khasam Aap Avar N Dhoojaa Thhaao ||
दुहा सिरिआ का खसमु आपि अवरु न दूजा थाउ ॥
The Lord is the Master of both worlds; there is no other place of rest.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੯॥੧॥੨੬॥
Sathigur Thuthai Paaeiaa Naanak Sachaa Naao ||9||1||26||
सतिगुर तुठै पाइआ नानक सचा नाउ ॥९॥१॥२६॥
When the True Guru is pleased and satisfied, O Nanak, the True Name is obtained. ||9||1||26||

Siree Raag, Fifth Mehl, Fifth House:
ਜਾਨਉ ਨਹੀ ਭਾਵੈ ਕਵਨ ਬਾਤਾ ॥
Jaano Nehee Bhaavai Kavan Baathaa ||
जानउ नही भावै कवन बाता ॥
I do not know what pleases my Lord.
ਮਨ ਖੋਜਿ ਮਾਰਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Man Khoj Maarag ||1|| Rehaao ||
मन खोजि मारगु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
O mind, seek out the way! ||1||Pause||
ਧਿਆਨੀ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
Dhhiaanee Dhhiaan Laavehi ||
धिआनी धिआनु लावहि ॥
The meditatives practice meditation,
ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ॥
Giaanee Giaan Kamaavehi ||
गिआनी गिआनु कमावहि ॥
And the wise practice spiritual wisdom,
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
Prabh Kin Hee Jaathaa ||1||
प्रभु किन ही जाता ॥१॥
But how rare are those who know God! ||1||
ਭਗਉਤੀ ਰਹਤ ਜੁਗਤਾ ॥
Bhagouthee Rehath Jugathaa ||
भगउती रहत जुगता ॥
The worshipper of Bhagaauti practices self-discipline,
ਜੋਗੀ ਕਹਤ ਮੁਕਤਾ ॥
Jogee Kehath Mukathaa ||
जोगी कहत मुकता ॥
The Yogi speaks of liberation,
ਤਪਸੀ ਤਪਹਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
Thapasee Thapehi Raathaa ||2||
तपसी तपहि राता ॥२॥
And the ascetic is absorbed in asceticism. ||2||
ਮੋਨੀ ਮੋਨਿਧਾਰੀ ॥
Monee Monidhhaaree ||
मोनी मोनिधारी ॥
The men of silence observe silence,
ਸਨਿਆਸੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ॥
Saniaasee Brehamachaaree ||
सनिआसी ब्रहमचारी ॥
The Sanyaasees observe celibacy,
ਉਦਾਸੀ ਉਦਾਸਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
Oudhaasee Oudhaas Raathaa ||3||
उदासी उदासि राता ॥३॥
And the Udaasees abide in detachment. ||3||
ਭਗਤਿ ਨਵੈ ਪਰਕਾਰਾ ॥
Bhagath Navai Parakaaraa ||
भगति नवै परकारा ॥
There are nine forms of devotional worship.
ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਵੇਦੁ ਪੁਕਾਰਾ ॥
Panddith Vaedh Pukaaraa ||
पंडितु वेदु पुकारा ॥
The Pandits recite the Vedas.
ਗਿਰਸਤੀ ਗਿਰਸਤਿ ਧਰਮਾਤਾ ॥੪॥
Girasathee Girasath Dhharamaathaa ||4||
गिरसती गिरसति धरमाता ॥४॥
The householders assert their faith in family life. ||4||
ਇਕ ਸਬਦੀ ਬਹੁ ਰੂਪਿ ਅਵਧੂਤਾ ॥
Eik Sabadhee Bahu Roop Avadhhoothaa ||
इक सबदी बहु रूपि अवधूता ॥
Those who utter only One Word, those who take many forms, the naked renunciates,
ਕਾਪੜੀ ਕਉਤੇ ਜਾਗੂਤਾ ॥
Kaaparree Kouthae Jaagoothaa ||
कापड़ी कउते जागूता ॥
The wearers of patched coats, the magicians, those who remain always awake,
ਇਕਿ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਨਾਤਾ ॥੫॥
Eik Theerathh Naathaa ||5||
इकि तीरथि नाता ॥५॥
And those who bathe at holy places of pilgrimage-||5||
ਨਿਰਹਾਰ ਵਰਤੀ ਆਪਰਸਾ ॥
Nirehaar Varathee Aaparasaa ||
निरहार वरती आपरसा ॥
Those who go without food, those who never touch others,
ਇਕਿ ਲੂਕਿ ਨ ਦੇਵਹਿ ਦਰਸਾ ॥
Eik Look N Dhaevehi Dharasaa ||
इकि लूकि न देवहि दरसा ॥
The hermits who never show themselves,
ਇਕਿ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਗਿਆਤਾ ॥੬॥
Eik Man Hee Giaathaa ||6||
इकि मन ही गिआता ॥६॥
And those who are wise in their own minds-||6||
ਘਾਟਿ ਨ ਕਿਨ ਹੀ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥
Ghaatt N Kin Hee Kehaaeiaa ||
घाटि न किन ही कहाइआ ॥
Of these, no one admits to any deficiency;
ਸਭ ਕਹਤੇ ਹੈ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Sabh Kehathae Hai Paaeiaa ||
सभ कहते है पाइआ ॥
All say that they have found the Lord.
ਜਿਸੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਸੋ ਭਗਤਾ ॥੭॥
Jis Maelae So Bhagathaa ||7||
जिसु मेले सो भगता ॥७॥
But he alone is a devotee, whom the Lord has united with Himself. ||7||
ਸਗਲ ਉਕਤਿ ਉਪਾਵਾ ॥
Sagal Oukath Oupaavaa ||
सगल उकति उपावा ॥
Abandoning all devices and contrivances,
ਤਿਆਗੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
Thiaagee Saran Paavaa ||
तिआगी सरनि पावा ॥
I have sought His Sanctuary.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣਿ ਪਰਾਤਾ ॥੮॥੨॥੨੭॥
Naanak Gur Charan Paraathaa ||8||2||27||
नानकु गुर चरणि पराता ॥८॥२॥२७॥
Nanak has fallen at the Feet of the Guru. ||8||2||27||

Among Yogis, You are the Yogi;
ਤੂੰ ਭੋਗੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਭੋਗੀਆ ॥
Thoon Bhogee Andhar Bhogeeaa ||
तूं भोगी अंदरि भोगीआ ॥
Among pleasure seekers, You are the Pleasure Seeker.
ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੁਰਗਿ ਮਛਿ ਪਇਆਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Thaeraa Anth N Paaeiaa Surag Mashh Paeiaal Jeeo ||1||
तेरा अंतु न पाइआ सुरगि मछि पइआलि जीउ ॥१॥
Your limits are not known to any of the beings in the heavens, in this world, or in the nether regions of the underworld. ||1||
ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਵ ਨੋ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ho Vaaree Ho Vaaranai Kurabaan Thaerae Naav No ||1|| Rehaao ||
हउ वारी हउ वारणै कुरबाणु तेरे नाव नो ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I am devoted, dedicated, a sacrifice to Your Name. ||1||Pause||
ਤੁਧੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
Thudhh Sansaar Oupaaeiaa ||
तुधु संसारु उपाइआ ॥
You created the world,
ਸਿਰੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਧੰਧੇ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
Sirae Sir Dhhandhhae Laaeiaa ||
सिरे सिरि धंधे लाइआ ॥
And assigned tasks to one and all.
ਵੇਖਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਰਿ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਪਾਸਾ ਢਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Vaekhehi Keethaa Aapanaa Kar Kudharath Paasaa Dtaal Jeeo ||2||
वेखहि कीता आपणा करि कुदरति पासा ढालि जीउ ॥२॥
You watch over Your Creation, and through Your All-powerful Creative Potency, You cast the dice. ||2||
ਪਰਗਟਿ ਪਾਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਪਦਾ ॥
Paragatt Paahaarai Jaapadhaa ||
परगटि पाहारै जापदा ॥
You are manifest in the Expanse of Your Workshop.
ਸਭੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨੋ ਪਰਤਾਪਦਾ ॥
Sabh Naavai No Parathaapadhaa ||
सभु नावै नो परतापदा ॥
Everyone longs for Your Name,
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਾਝੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਸਭ ਮੋਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਜਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Sathigur Baajh N Paaeiou Sabh Mohee Maaeiaa Jaal Jeeo ||3||
सतिगुर बाझु न पाइओ सभ मोही माइआ जालि जीउ ॥३॥
But without the Guru, no one finds You. All are enticed and trapped by Maya. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
Sathigur Ko Bal Jaaeeai ||
सतिगुर कउ बलि जाईऐ ॥
I am a sacrifice to the True Guru.
ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Jith Miliai Param Gath Paaeeai ||
जितु मिलिऐ परम गति पाईऐ ॥
Meeting Him, the supreme status is obtained.
