ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਅਕਾਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਅਜੂਨੀ ਸੈਭੰ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ੴ सतिनामु करता पुरखु निरभउ निरवैरु अकाल मूरति अजूनी सैभं गुर प्रसादि ॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Har Har Naam Mai Har Man Bhaaeiaa ||
हरि हरि नामु मै हरि मनि भाइआ ॥
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is pleasing to my mind.
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Vaddabhaagee Har Naam Dhhiaaeiaa ||
वडभागी हरि नामु धिआइआ ॥
By great good fortune, I meditate on the Lord's Name.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਚਲੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Gur Poorai Har Naam Sidhh Paaee Ko Viralaa Guramath Chalai Jeeo ||1||
गुरि पूरै हरि नाम सिधि पाई को विरला गुरमति चलै जीउ ॥१॥
The Perfect Guru has attained spiritual perfection in the Name of the Lord. How rare are those who follow the Guru's Teachings. ||1||
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲਇਆ ਬੰਨਿ ਪਲੈ ॥
Mai Har Har Kharach Laeiaa Bann Palai ||
मै हरि हरि खरचु लइआ बंनि पलै ॥
I have loaded my pack with the provisions of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਖਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਨਾਲਿ ਚਲੈ ॥
Maeraa Praan Sakhaaee Sadhaa Naal Chalai ||
मेरा प्राण सखाई सदा नालि चलै ॥
The Companion of my breath of life shall always be with me.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Gur Poorai Har Naam Dhirraaeiaa Har Nihachal Har Dhhan Palai Jeeo ||2||
गुरि पूरै हरि नामु दिड़ाइआ हरि निहचलु हरि धनु पलै जीउ ॥२॥
The Perfect Guru has implanted the Lord's Name within me. I have the Imperishable Treasure of the Lord in my lap. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
Har Har Sajan Maeraa Preetham Raaeiaa ||
हरि हरि सजणु मेरा प्रीतमु राइआ ॥
The Lord, Har, Har, is my Best Friend; He is my Beloved Lord King.
ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਜੀਵਾਇਆ ॥
Koee Aan Milaavai Maerae Praan Jeevaaeiaa ||
कोई आणि मिलावै मेरे प्राण जीवाइआ ॥
If only someone would come and introduce me to Him, the Rejuvenator of my breath of life.
ਹਉ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਾ ਮੈ ਨੀਰੁ ਵਹੇ ਵਹਿ ਚਲੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Ho Rehi N Sakaa Bin Dhaekhae Preethamaa Mai Neer Vehae Vehi Chalai Jeeo ||3||
हउ रहि न सका बिनु देखे प्रीतमा मै नीरु वहे वहि चलै जीउ ॥३॥
I cannot survive without seeing my Beloved. My eyes are welling up with tears. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਤ੍ਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਾਲ ਸਖਾਈ ॥
Sathigur Mithra Maeraa Baal Sakhaaee ||
सतिगुरु मित्रु मेरा बाल सखाई ॥
My Friend, the True Guru, has been my Best Friend since I was very young.
ਹਉ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
Ho Rehi N Sakaa Bin Dhaekhae Maeree Maaee ||
हउ रहि न सका बिनु देखे मेरी माई ॥
I cannot survive without seeing Him, O my mother!
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਪਲੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧॥
Har Jeeo Kirapaa Karahu Gur Maelahu Jan Naanak Har Dhhan Palai Jeeo ||4||1||
हरि जीउ क्रिपा करहु गुरु मेलहु जन नानक हरि धनु पलै जीउ ॥४॥१॥
O Dear Lord, please show Mercy to me, that I may meet the Guru. Servant Nanak gathers the Wealth of the Lord's Name in his lap. ||4||1||

माझ महला ४ ॥
Maajh, Fourth Mehl:
ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾ ॥
Madhhusoodhan Maerae Man Than Praanaa ||
मधुसूदन मेरे मन तन प्राना ॥
The Lord is my mind, body and breath of life.
ਹਉ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
Ho Har Bin Dhoojaa Avar N Jaanaa ||
हउ हरि बिनु दूजा अवरु न जाना ॥
I do not know any other than the Lord.
ਕੋਈ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਦਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Koee Sajan Santh Milai Vaddabhaagee Mai Har Prabh Piaaraa Dhasai Jeeo ||1||
कोई सजणु संतु मिलै वडभागी मै हरि प्रभु पिआरा दसै जीउ ॥१॥
If only I could have the good fortune to meet some friendly Saint; he might show me the Way to my Beloved Lord God. ||1||
ਹਉ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਖੋਜੀ ਭਾਲਿ ਭਾਲਾਈ ॥
Ho Man Than Khojee Bhaal Bhaalaaee ||
हउ मनु तनु खोजी भालि भालाई ॥
I have searched my mind and body, through and through.
ਕਿਉ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ॥
Kio Piaaraa Preetham Milai Maeree Maaee ||
किउ पिआरा प्रीतमु मिलै मेरी माई ॥
How can I meet my Darling Beloved, O my mother?
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਖੋਜੁ ਦਸਾਈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਵਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Mil Sathasangath Khoj Dhasaaee Vich Sangath Har Prabh Vasai Jeeo ||2||
मिलि सतसंगति खोजु दसाई विचि संगति हरि प्रभु वसै जीउ ॥२॥
Joining the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, I ask about the Path to God. In that Congregation, the Lord God abides. ||2||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
Maeraa Piaaraa Preetham Sathigur Rakhavaalaa ||
मेरा पिआरा प्रीतमु सतिगुरु रखवाला ॥
My Darling Beloved True Guru is my Protector.
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥
Ham Baarik Dheen Karahu Prathipaalaa ||
हम बारिक दीन करहु प्रतिपाला ॥
I am a helpless child-please cherish me.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਜਲ ਮਿਲਿ ਕਮਲੁ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Maeraa Maath Pithaa Gur Sathigur Pooraa Gur Jal Mil Kamal Vigasai Jeeo ||3||
मेरा मात पिता गुरु सतिगुरु पूरा गुर जल मिलि कमलु विगसै जीउ ॥३॥
The Guru, the Perfect True Guru, is my Mother and Father. Obtaining the Water of the Guru, the lotus of my heart blossoms forth. ||3||
ਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਦੇਖੇ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
Mai Bin Gur Dhaekhae Needh N Aavai ||
मै बिनु गुर देखे नीद न आवै ॥
Without seeing my Guru, sleep does not come.
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਤਨਿ ਵੇਦਨ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਰਹੁ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥
Maerae Man Than Vaedhan Gur Birahu Lagaavai ||
मेरे मन तनि वेदन गुर बिरहु लगावै ॥
My mind and body are afflicted with the pain of separation from the Guru.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਸੈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨॥
Har Har Dhaeiaa Karahu Gur Maelahu Jan Naanak Gur Mil Rehasai Jeeo ||4||2||
हरि हरि दइआ करहु गुरु मेलहु जन नानक गुर मिलि रहसै जीउ ॥४॥२॥
O Lord, Har, Har, show mercy to me, that I may meet my Guru. Meeting the Guru, servant Nanak blossoms forth. ||4||2||
