Is rid of the illnesses of countless lifetimes and incarnations.
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਫਲ ਏਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Har Keerathan Gaavahu Dhin Raathee Safal Eaehaa Hai Kaaree Jeeo ||3||
हरि कीरतनु गावहु दिनु राती सफल एहा है कारी जीउ ॥३॥
So sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night. This is the most fruitful occupation. ||3||
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਅਪਨਾ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
Dhrisatt Dhhaar Apanaa Dhaas Savaariaa ||
द्रिसटि धारि अपना दासु सवारिआ ॥
Bestowing His Glance of Grace, He has adorned His slave.
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿਆ ॥
Ghatt Ghatt Anthar Paarabreham Namasakaariaa ||
घट घट अंतरि पारब्रहमु नमसकारिआ ॥
Deep within each and every heart, the Supreme Lord is humbly worshipped.
ਇਕਸੁ ਵਿਣੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਾਬਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੯॥੪੬॥
Eikas Vin Hor Dhoojaa Naahee Baabaa Naanak Eih Math Saaree Jeeo ||4||39||46||
इकसु विणु होरु दूजा नाही बाबा नानक इह मति सारी जीउ ॥४॥३९॥४६॥
Without the One, there is no other at all. O Baba Nanak, this is the most excellent wisdom. ||4||39||46||

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
Man Than Rathaa Raam Piaarae ||
मनु तनु रता राम पिआरे ॥
My mind and body are imbued with love for the Lord.
ਸਰਬਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਅਪਨਾ ਵਾਰੇ ॥
Sarabas Dheejai Apanaa Vaarae ||
सरबसु दीजै अपना वारे ॥
I sacrifice everything for Him.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਐ ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Aath Pehar Govindh Gun Gaaeeai Bisar N Koee Saasaa Jeeo ||1||
आठ पहर गोविंद गुण गाईऐ बिसरु न कोई सासा जीउ ॥१॥
Twenty-four hours a day, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. Do not forget Him, for even one breath. ||1||
ਸੋਈ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੀਤੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥
Soee Saajan Meeth Piaaraa ||
सोई साजन मीतु पिआरा ॥
He is a companion, a friend, and a beloved of mine,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
Raam Naam Saadhhasang Beechaaraa ||
राम नामु साधसंगि बीचारा ॥
Who reflects upon the Lord's Name, in the Company of the Holy.
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੀਜੈ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Saadhhoo Sang Thareejai Saagar Katteeai Jam Kee Faasaa Jeeo ||2||
साधू संगि तरीजै सागरु कटीऐ जम की फासा जीउ ॥२॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, cross over the world-ocean, and the noose of death shall be cut away. ||2||
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
Chaar Padhaarathh Har Kee Saevaa ||
चारि पदारथ हरि की सेवा ॥
The four cardinal blessings are obtained by serving the Lord.
ਪਾਰਜਾਤੁ ਜਪਿ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਵਾ ॥
Paarajaath Jap Alakh Abhaevaa ||
पारजातु जपि अलख अभेवा ॥
The Elysian Tree, the source of all blessings, is meditation on the Unseen and Unknowable Lord.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਾਟੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Kaam Krodhh Kilabikh Gur Kaattae Pooran Hoee Aasaa Jeeo ||3||
कामु क्रोधु किलबिख गुरि काटे पूरन होई आसा जीउ ॥३॥
The Guru has cut out the sinful mistakes of sexual desire and anger, and my hopes have been fulfilled. ||3||
ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਗ ਭਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
Pooran Bhaag Bheae Jis Praanee ||
पूरन भाग भए जिसु प्राणी ॥
That mortal who is blessed by perfect destiny meets the Lord,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਾਰੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
Saadhhasang Milae Saarangapaanee ||
साधसंगि मिले सारंगपाणी ॥
The Sustainer of the Universe, in the Company of the Holy.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਉਦਾਸਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੦॥੪੭॥
Naanak Naam Vasiaa Jis Anthar Paravaan Girasath Oudhaasaa Jeeo ||4||40||47||
नानक नामु वसिआ जिसु अंतरि परवाणु गिरसत उदासा जीउ ॥४॥४०॥४७॥
O Nanak, if the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within the mind, one is approved and accepted, whether he is a house-holder or a renunciate. ||4||40||47||

सिमरत नामु रिदै सुखु पाइआ ॥
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, my heart is filled with peace.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭਗਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Bhagathanaee Pragattaaeiaa ||
करि किरपा भगतीं प्रगटाइआ ॥
By His Grace, His devotees become famous and acclaimed.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਆਲਸ ਰੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Santhasang Mil Har Har Japiaa Binasae Aalas Rogaa Jeeo ||1||
संतसंगि मिलि हरि हरि जपिआ बिनसे आलस रोगा जीउ ॥१॥
Joining the Society of the Saints, I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; the disease of laziness has disappeared. ||1||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਈ ॥
Jaa Kai Grihi Nav Nidhh Har Bhaaee ||
जा कै ग्रिहि नव निधि हरि भाई ॥
O Siblings of Destiny, the nine treasures are found in the Home of the Lord;
ਤਿਸੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਬ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
This Miliaa Jis Purab Kamaaee ||
तिसु मिलिआ जिसु पुरब कमाई ॥
He comes to meet those who deserve it by their past actions.
ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਗਲਾ ਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Giaan Dhhiaan Pooran Paramaesur Prabh Sabhanaa Galaa Jogaa Jeeo ||2||
गिआन धिआन पूरन परमेसुर प्रभु सभना गला जोगा जीउ ॥२॥
The Perfect Transcendent Lord is spiritual wisdom and meditation. God is All-powerful to do all things. ||2||
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
Khin Mehi Thhaap Outhhaapanehaaraa ||
खिन महि थापि उथापनहारा ॥
In an instant, He establishes and disestablishes.
ਆਪਿ ਇਕੰਤੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
Aap Eikanthee Aap Pasaaraa ||
आपि इकंती आपि पसारा ॥
He Himself is the One, and He Himself is the Many.
ਲੇਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਦਾਤੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਡਿਠੇ ਲਹਨਿ ਵਿਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Laep Nehee Jagajeevan Dhaathae Dharasan Ddithae Lehan Vijogaa Jeeo ||3||
लेपु नही जगजीवन दाते दरसन डिठे लहनि विजोगा जीउ ॥३॥
Filth does not stick to the Giver, the Life of the World. Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, the pain of separation departs. ||3||
ਅੰਚਲਿ ਲਾਇ ਸਭ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਤਰਾਈ ॥
Anchal Laae Sabh Sisatt Tharaaee ||
अंचलि लाइ सभ सिसटि तराई ॥
Holding on to the hem of His Robe, the entire Universe is saved.
ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਉ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਈ ॥
Aapanaa Naao Aap Japaaee ||
आपणा नाउ आपि जपाई ॥
He Himself causes His Name to be chanted.
ਗੁਰ ਬੋਹਿਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਧੁਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੧॥੪੮॥
Gur Bohithh Paaeiaa Kirapaa Thae Naanak Dhhur Sanjogaa Jeeo ||4||41||48||
गुर बोहिथु पाइआ किरपा ते नानक धुरि संजोगा जीउ ॥४॥४१॥४८॥
The Boat of the Guru is found by His Grace; O Nanak, such blessed destiny is pre-ordained. ||4||41||48||

ਸੋਈ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰਾਏ ॥

सोई करणा जि आपि कराए ॥
People do whatever the Lord inspires them to do.
ਜਿਥੈ ਰਖੈ ਸਾ ਭਲੀ ਜਾਏ ॥
Jithhai Rakhai Saa Bhalee Jaaeae ||
जिथै रखै सा भली जाए ॥
Wherever He keeps us is a good place.
ਸੋਈ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸੋ ਪਤਿਵੰਤਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Soee Siaanaa So Pathivanthaa Hukam Lagai Jis Meethaa Jeeo ||1||
सोई सिआणा सो पतिवंता हुकमु लगै जिसु मीठा जीउ ॥१॥
That person is clever and honorable, unto whom the Hukam of the Lord's Command seems sweet. ||1||
ਸਭ ਪਰੋਈ ਇਕਤੁ ਧਾਗੈ ॥
Sabh Paroee Eikath Dhhaagai ||
सभ परोई इकतु धागै ॥
Everything is strung upon the One String of the Lord.
ਜਿਸੁ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
Jis Laae Leae So Charanee Laagai ||
जिसु लाइ लए सो चरणी लागै ॥
Those whom the Lord attaches, are attached to His Feet.
ਊਂਧ ਕਵਲੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਡੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Oonadhh Kaval Jis Hoe Pragaasaa Thin Sarab Niranjan Ddeethaa Jeeo ||2||
ऊंध कवलु जिसु होइ प्रगासा तिनि सरब निरंजनु डीठा जीउ ॥२॥
Those, whose inverted lotus of the crown chakra is illuminated, see the Immaculate Lord everywhere. ||2||
ਤੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਜਾਣਹਿ ॥
Thaeree Mehimaa Thoonhai Jaanehi ||
तेरी महिमा तूंहै जाणहि ॥
Only You Yourself know Your Glory.
ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਿ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ॥
Apanaa Aap Thoon Aap Pashhaanehi ||
अपणा आपु तूं आपि पछाणहि ॥
You Yourself recognize Your Own Self.
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸੰਤਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਪੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Ho Balihaaree Santhan Thaerae Jin Kaam Krodhh Lobh Peethaa Jeeo ||3||
हउ बलिहारी संतन तेरे जिनि कामु क्रोधु लोभु पीठा जीउ ॥३॥
I am a sacrifice to Your Saints, who have crushed their sexual desire, anger and greed. ||3||
ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ॥
Thoon Niravair Santh Thaerae Niramal ||
तूं निरवैरु संत तेरे निरमल ॥
You have no hatred or vengeance; Your Saints are immaculate and pure.
ਜਿਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਸਭ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਕਲਮਲ ॥
Jin Dhaekhae Sabh Outharehi Kalamal ||
जिन देखे सभ उतरहि कलमल ॥
Seeing them, all sins depart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ਧਿਆਇ ਜੀਵੈ ਬਿਨਸਿਆ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਧੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪੨॥੪੯॥
Naanak Naam Dhhiaae Dhhiaae Jeevai Binasiaa Bhram Bho Dhheethaa Jeeo ||4||42||49||
नानक नामु धिआइ धिआइ जीवै बिनसिआ भ्रमु भउ धीठा जीउ ॥४॥४२॥४९॥
Nanak lives by meditating, meditating on the Naam. His stubborn doubt and fear have departed. ||4||42||49||
