You have so many Creative Powers, Lord; Your Bountiful Blessings are so Great.
ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥

केते तेरे जीअ जंत सिफति करहि दिनु राति ॥
So many of Your beings and creatures praise You day and night.
ਕੇਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਕੇਤੇ ਜਾਤਿ ਅਜਾਤਿ ॥੩॥

केते तेरे रूप रंग केते जाति अजाति ॥३॥
You have so many forms and colors, so many classes, high and low. ||3||
ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
Sach Milai Sach Oopajai Sach Mehi Saach Samaae ||
सचु मिलै सचु ऊपजै सच महि साचि समाइ ॥
Meeting the True One, Truth wells up. The truthful are absorbed into the True Lord.
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਤਿ ਊਗਵੈ ਗੁਰਬਚਨੀ ਭਉ ਖਾਇ ॥

सुरति होवै पति ऊगवै गुरबचनी भउ खाइ ॥
Intuitive understanding is obtained and one is welcomed with honor, through the Guru's Word, filled with the Fear of God.

भली सरी जि उबरी हउमै मुई घराहु ॥
It all worked out-I was saved, and the egotism within my heart was subdued.
ਦੂਤ ਲਗੇ ਫਿਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਵੇਸਾਹੁ ॥
Dhooth Lagae Fir Chaakaree Sathigur Kaa Vaesaahu ||
दूत लगे फिरि चाकरी सतिगुर का वेसाहु ॥
The evil energies have been made to serve me, since I placed my faith in the True Guru.

मन रे सचु मिलै भउ जाइ ॥
O mind, meeting with the True One, fear departs.

भै बिनु निरभउ किउ थीऐ गुरमुखि सबदि समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Without the Fear of God, how can anyone become fearless? Become Gurmukh, and immerse yourself in the Shabad. ||1||Pause||
ਕੇਤਾ ਆਖਣੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਆਖਣਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
Kaethaa Aakhan Aakheeai Aakhan Thott N Hoe ||
केता आखणु आखीऐ आखणि तोटि न होइ ॥
How can we describe Him with words? There is no end to the descriptions of Him.
ਮੰਗਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੇਤੜੇ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥

मंगण वाले केतड़े दाता एको सोइ ॥
There are so many beggars, but He is the only Giver.
ਜਿਸ ਕੇ ਜੀਅ ਪਰਾਣ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥

जिस के जीअ पराण है मनि वसिऐ सुखु होइ ॥२॥
He is the Giver of the soul, and the praanaa, the breath of life; when He dwells within the mind, there is peace. ||2||

जगु सुपना बाजी बनी खिन महि खेलु खेलाइ ॥
The world is a drama, staged in a dream. In a moment, the play is played out.
ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕਸੇ ਵਿਜੋਗੀ ਉਠਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
Sanjogee Mil Eaekasae Vijogee Outh Jaae ||
संजोगी मिलि एकसे विजोगी उठि जाइ ॥
Some attain union with the Lord, while others depart in separation.
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਰਣਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
Jo This Bhaanaa So Thheeai Avar N Karanaa Jaae ||3||
जो तिसु भाणा सो थीऐ अवरु न करणा जाइ ॥३॥
Whatever pleases Him comes to pass; nothing else can be done. ||3||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਵੇਸਾਹੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
Guramukh Vasath Vaesaaheeai Sach Vakhar Sach Raas ||
गुरमुखि वसतु वेसाहीऐ सचु वखरु सचु रासि ॥

धातु मिलै फुनि धातु कउ सिफती सिफति समाइ ॥
As metal merges with metal, those who chant the Praises of the Lord are absorbed into the Praiseworthy Lord.
ਲਾਲੁ ਗੁਲਾਲੁ ਗਹਬਰਾ ਸਚਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਾਉ ॥
Laal Gulaal Gehabaraa Sachaa Rang Charraao ||
लालु गुलालु गहबरा सचा रंगु चड़ाउ ॥
Like the poppies, they are dyed in the deep crimson color of Truthfulness.
ਸਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੈ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥

सचु मिलै संतोखीआ हरि जपि एकै भाइ ॥१॥
Those contented souls who meditate on the Lord with single-minded love, meet the True Lord. ||1||

Oocho Thhaan Suhaavanaa Oopar Mehal Muraar ||
ऊचउ थानु सुहावणा ऊपरि महलु मुरारि ॥
Upon that Highest Plane of Sublime Beauty, stands the Mansion of the Lord.
ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਦਰੁ ਘਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥
Sach Karanee Dhae Paaeeai Dhar Ghar Mehal Piaar ||
सचु करणी दे पाईऐ दरु घरु महलु पिआरि ॥
By true actions, this human body is obtained, and the door within ourselves which leads to the Mansion of the Beloved, is found.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਨੁ ਸਮਝਾਈਐ ਆਤਮ ਰਾਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
Guramukh Man Samajhaaeeai Aatham Raam Beechaar ||2||
गुरमुखि मनु समझाईऐ आतम रामु बीचारि ॥२॥
The Gurmukhs train their minds to contemplate the Lord, the Supreme Soul. ||2||
ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਈਅਹਿ ਆਸ ਅੰਦੇਸਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
Thribidhh Karam Kamaaeeahi Aas Andhaesaa Hoe ||
त्रिबिधि करम कमाईअहि आस अंदेसा होइ ॥
By actions committed under the influence of the three qualities, hope and anxiety are produced.
ਕਿਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਕੁਟੀ ਛੁਟਸੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Kio Gur Bin Thrikuttee Shhuttasee Sehaj Miliai Sukh Hoe ||
किउ गुर बिनु त्रिकुटी छुटसी सहजि मिलिऐ सुखु होइ ॥
Without the Guru, how can anyone be released from these three qualities? Through intuitive wisdom, we meet with Him and find peace.
ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੀਐ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਇ ॥੩॥
Nij Ghar Mehal Pashhaaneeai Nadhar Karae Mal Dhhoe ||3||
निज घरि महलु पछाणीऐ नदरि करे मलु धोइ ॥३॥
Within the home of the self, the Mansion of His Presence is realized when He bestows His Glance of Grace and washes away our pollution. ||3||
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਉ ਘਰ ਵਾਸੁ ॥
Bin Gur Mail N Outharai Bin Har Kio Ghar Vaas ||
बिनु गुर मैलु न उतरै बिनु हरि किउ घर वासु ॥
Without the Guru, this pollution is not removed. Without the Lord, how can there be any homecoming?
ਏਕੋ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀਐ ਅਵਰ ਤਿਆਗੈ ਆਸ ॥
Eaeko Sabadh Veechaareeai Avar Thiaagai Aas ||
एको सबदु वीचारीऐ अवर तिआगै आस ॥
Contemplate the One Word of the Shabad, and abandon other hopes.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਈਐ ਹਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੧੨॥

नानक देखि दिखाईऐ हउ सद बलिहारै जासु ॥४॥१२॥
O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to the one who beholds, and inspires others to behold Him. ||4||12||

The life of the discarded bride is cursed. She is deceived by the love of duality.
ਕਲਰ ਕੇਰੀ ਕੰਧ ਜਿਉ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਕਿਰਿ ਢਹਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
Kalar Kaeree Kandhh Jio Ahinis Kir Dtehi Paae ||
कलर केरी कंध जिउ अहिनिसि किरि ढहि पाइ ॥
Like a wall of sand, day and night, she crumbles, and eventually, she breaks down altogether.
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾ ਥੀਐ ਪਿਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥

बिनु सबदै सुखु ना थीऐ पिर बिनु दूखु न जाइ ॥१॥
Without the Word of the Shabad, peace does not come. Without her Husband Lord, her suffering does not end. ||1||
