नाराइण घटि घटि परगास ॥
The Lord illumines each and every heart.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕਹਤੇ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
Naaraaein Kehathae Narak N Jaahi ||
नाराइण कहते नरकि न जाहि ॥
Chanting the Lord's Name, one does not fall into hell.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਗਲ ਫਲ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੧॥

नाराइण सेवि सगल फल पाहि ॥१॥
Serving the Lord, all fruitful rewards are obtained. ||1||

Naaraaein Man Maahi Adhhaar ||
नाराइण मन माहि अधार ॥
Within my mind is the Support of the Lord.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਬੋਹਿਥ ਸੰਸਾਰ ॥
Naaraaein Bohithh Sansaar ||
नाराइण बोहिथ संसार ॥
The Lord is the boat to cross over the world-ocean.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕਹਤ ਜਮੁ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਲਾਇਣ ॥
Naaraaein Kehath Jam Bhaag Palaaein ||
नाराइण कहत जमु भागि पलाइण ॥
Chant the Lord's Name, and the Messenger of Death will run away.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਦੰਤ ਭਾਨੇ ਡਾਇਣ ॥੨॥
Naaraaein Dhanth Bhaanae Ddaaein ||2||
नाराइण दंत भाने डाइण ॥२॥
The Lord breaks the teeth of Maya, the witch. ||2||
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥
Naaraaein Sadh Sadh Bakhasindh ||
नाराइण सद सद बखसिंद ॥
The Lord is forever and ever the Forgiver.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਕੀਨੇ ਸੂਖ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
Naaraaein Keenae Sookh Anandh ||
नाराइण कीने सूख अनंद ॥
The Lord blesses us with peace and bliss.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਨੋ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥

नाराइण प्रगट कीनो परताप ॥
The Lord has revealed His glory.
ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ਸੰਤ ਕੋ ਮਾਈ ਬਾਪ ॥੩॥

The Lord is the mother and father of His Saint. ||3||

नाराइण साधसंगि नराइण ॥
The Lord, the Lord, is in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

बारं बार नराइण गाइण ॥
Time and time again, I sing the Lord's Praises.
ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਹੀ ॥
Basath Agochar Gur Mil Lehee ||
बसतु अगोचर गुर मिलि लही ॥
Meeting with the Guru, I have attained the incomprehensible object.

One who is protected by the Protector Lord
ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਅੰਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

तिस का अंगु करे निरंकारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
- the Formless Lord is on his side. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ॥
Maath Garabh Mehi Agan N Johai ||
मात गरभ महि अगनि न जोहै ॥
In the mother's womb, the fire does not touch him.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ॥
Kaam Krodhh Lobh Mohu N Pohai ||
कामु क्रोधु लोभु मोहु न पोहै ॥
Sexual desire, anger, greed and emotional attachment do not affect him.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਪੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
Saadhhasang Japai Nirankaar ||
साधसंगि जपै निरंकारु ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he meditates on the Formless Lord.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਲਾਗੈ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Nindhak Kai Muhi Laagai Shhaar ||1||
निंदक कै मुहि लागै छारु ॥१॥
Dust is thrown into the faces of the slanderers. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਕਵਚੁ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਸੰਨਾਹੁ ॥
Raam Kavach Dhaas Kaa Sannaahu ||
राम कवचु दास का संनाहु ॥
The Lord's protective spell is the armor of His slave.
ਦੂਤ ਦੁਸਟ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੋਹਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Dhooth Dhusatt This Pohath Naahi ||
दूत दुसट तिसु पोहत नाहि ॥
The wicked, evil demons cannot even touch him.
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਗਰਬੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
Jo Jo Garab Karae So Jaae ||
जो जो गरबु करे सो जाइ ॥
Whoever indulges in egotistical pride, shall waste away to ruin.
ਗਰੀਬ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੨॥
Gareeb Dhaas Kee Prabh Saranaae ||2||
गरीब दास की प्रभु सरणाइ ॥२॥
God is the Sanctuary of His humble slave. ||2||
ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
Jo Jo Saran Paeiaa Har Raae ||
जो जो सरणि पइआ हरि राइ ॥
Whoever enters the Sanctuary of the Sovereign Lord
ਸੋ ਦਾਸੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਅਪਣੈ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
So Dhaas Rakhiaa Apanai Kanth Laae ||
सो दासु रखिआ अपणै कंठि लाइ ॥
- He saves that slave, hugging him close in His embrace.
ਜੇ ਕੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਰੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
Jae Ko Bahuth Karae Ahankaar ||
जे को बहुतु करे अहंकारु ॥
Whoever takes great pride in himself,
ਓਹੁ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਰੁਲਤਾ ਖਾਕੂ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੩॥
Ouhu Khin Mehi Rulathaa Khaakoo Naal ||3||
ओहु खिन महि रुलता खाकू नालि ॥३॥
In an instant, shall be like dust mixing with dust. ||3||
ਹੈ ਭੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥
Hai Bhee Saachaa Hovanehaar ||
है भी साचा होवणहारु ॥
The True Lord is, and shall always be.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Jaaeanaee Balihaar ||
सदा सदा जाईं बलिहार ॥
Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to Him.
ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਰਖੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Apanae Dhaas Rakhae Kirapaa Dhhaar ||
अपणे दास रखे किरपा धारि ॥
Granting His Mercy, He saves His slaves.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੦॥

Wondrous and beautiful is the description of the beauty of the Supreme Soul,
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਮਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕਾ ਰੂਪੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

प्रातमा पारब्रहम का रूपु ॥ रहाउ ॥
The Supreme Lord God. ||Pause||
ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬੂਢਾ ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
Naa Eihu Boodtaa Naa Eihu Baalaa ||
ना इहु बूढा ना इहु बाला ॥
He is not old; He is not young.
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਜਮ ਜਾਲਾ ॥
Naa Eis Dhookh Nehee Jam Jaalaa ||
ना इसु दूखु नही जम जाला ॥
He is not in pain; He is not caught in Death's noose.
ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਨਾ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
Naa Eihu Binasai Naa Eihu Jaae ||
ना इहु बिनसै ना इहु जाइ ॥
He does not die; He does not go away.
ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
Aadh Jugaadhee Rehiaa Samaae ||1||
आदि जुगादी रहिआ समाइ ॥१॥
In the beginning, and throughout the ages, He is permeating everywhere. ||1||
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਉਸਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਸੀਤੁ ॥
Naa Eis Ousan Nehee Eis Seeth ||
ना इसु उसनु नही इसु सीतु ॥
He is not hot; He is not cold.
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਦੁਸਮਨੁ ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
Naa Eis Dhusaman Naa Eis Meeth ||
ना इसु दुसमनु ना इसु मीतु ॥
He has no enemy; He has no friend.
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਹਰਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
Naa Eis Harakh Nehee Eis Sog ||
ना इसु हरखु नही इसु सोगु ॥
He is not happy; He is not sad.
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਇਸ ਕਾ ਇਹੁ ਕਰਨੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥੨॥
Sabh Kishh Eis Kaa Eihu Karanai Jog ||2||
सभु किछु इस का इहु करनै जोगु ॥२॥
Everything belongs to Him; He can do anything. ||2||
ਨਾ ਇਸੁ ਬਾਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Naa Eis Baap Nehee Eis Maaeiaa ||
ना इसु बापु नही इसु माइआ ॥
He has no father; He has no mother.
ਇਹੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਹੋਤਾ ਆਇਆ ॥
Eihu Aparanpar Hothaa Aaeiaa ||
इहु अपर्मपरु होता आइआ ॥
He is beyond the beyond, and has always been so.
ਪਾਪ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਾ ਇਸੁ ਲੇਪੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
Paap Punn Kaa Eis Laep N Laagai ||
पाप पुंन का इसु लेपु न लागै ॥
He is not affected by virtue or vice.
ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੩॥
Ghatt Ghatt Anthar Sadh Hee Jaagai ||3||
घट घट अंतरि सद ही जागै ॥३॥
Deep within each and every heart, He is always awake and aware. ||3||
ਤੀਨਿ ਗੁਣਾ ਇਕ ਸਕਤਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥
Theen Gunaa Eik Sakath Oupaaeiaa ||
तीनि गुणा इक सकति उपाइआ ॥
From the three qualities, the one mechanism of Maya was produced.
ਮਹਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
Mehaa Maaeiaa Thaa Kee Hai Shhaaeiaa ||
महा माइआ ता की है छाइआ ॥
The great Maya is only His shadow.
ਅਛਲ ਅਛੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
Ashhal Ashhaedh Abhaedh Dhaeiaal ||
अछल अछेद अभेद दइआल ॥
He is undeceivable, impenetrable, unfathomable and merciful.
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
Dheen Dhaeiaal Sadhaa Kirapaal ||
दीन दइआल सदा किरपाल ॥
He is merciful to the meek, forever compassionate.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
Thaa Kee Gath Mith Kashhoo N Paae ||
ता की गति मिति कछू न पाइ ॥
His state and limits cannot ever be known.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੧॥
Naanak Thaa Kai Bal Bal Jaae ||4||19||21||
नानक ता कै बलि बलि जाइ ॥४॥१९॥२१॥
Nanak is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to Him. ||4||19||21||
