Raamkalee, Fourth Mehl:
ਸਤਗੁਰ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
Sathagur Dhaeiaa Karahu Har Maelahu Maerae Preetham Praan Har Raaeiaa ||
सतगुर दइआ करहु हरि मेलहु मेरे प्रीतम प्राण हरि राइआ ॥
O True Guru, please be kind, and unite me with the Lord. My Sovereign Lord is the Beloved of my breath of life.
ਹਮ ਚੇਰੀ ਹੋਇ ਲਗਹ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਪੰਥੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Ham Chaeree Hoe Lageh Gur Charanee Jin Har Prabh Maarag Panthh Dhikhaaeiaa ||1||
हम चेरी होइ लगह गुर चरणी जिनि हरि प्रभ मारगु पंथु दिखाइआ ॥१॥
I am a slave; I fall at the Guru's feet. He has shown me the Path, the Way to my Lord God. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Raam Mai Har Har Naam Man Bhaaeiaa ||
राम मै हरि हरि नामु मनि भाइआ ॥
The Name of my Lord, Har, Har, is pleasing to my mind.
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਲੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਖਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Mai Har Bin Avar N Koee Baelee Maeraa Pithaa Maathaa Har Sakhaaeiaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
मै हरि बिनु अवरु न कोई बेली मेरा पिता माता हरि सखाइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
I have no friend except the Lord; the Lord is my father, my mother, my companion. ||1||Pause||
ਮੇਰੇ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਨ ਰਹਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਮਰਹਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Maerae Eik Khin Praan N Rehehi Bin Preetham Bin Dhaekhae Marehi Maeree Maaeiaa ||
मेरे इकु खिनु प्रान न रहहि बिनु प्रीतम बिनु देखे मरहि मेरी माइआ ॥
My breath of life will not survive for an instant, without my Beloved; unless I see Him, I will die, O my mother!
ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਡ ਭਾਗ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Dhhan Dhhan Vadd Bhaag Gur Saranee Aaeae Har Gur Mil Dharasan Paaeiaa ||2||
धनु धनु वड भाग गुर सरणी आए हरि गुर मिलि दरसनु पाइआ ॥२॥
Blessed, blessed is my great, high destiny, that I have come to the Guru's Sanctuary. Meeting with the Guru, I have obtained the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||2||
ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਸੂਝੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਜਪਉ ਜਪਾਇਆ ॥
Mai Avar N Koee Soojhai Boojhai Man Har Jap Japo Japaaeiaa ||
मै अवरु न कोई सूझै बूझै मनि हरि जपु जपउ जपाइआ ॥
I do not know or understand any other within my mind; I meditate and chant the Lord's Chant.
ਨਾਮਹੀਣ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਸੇ ਨਕਟੇ ਤਿਨ ਘਸਿ ਘਸਿ ਨਕ ਵਢਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Naameheen Firehi Sae Nakattae Thin Ghas Ghas Nak Vadtaaeiaa ||3||
नामहीण फिरहि से नकटे तिन घसि घसि नक वढाइआ ॥३॥
Those who lack the Naam, wander in shame; their noses are chopped off, bit by bit. ||3||
ਮੋ ਕਉ ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਵਾਲਿ ਲੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
Mo Ko Jagajeevan Jeevaal Lai Suaamee Ridh Anthar Naam Vasaaeiaa ||
मो कउ जगजीवन जीवालि लै सुआमी रिद अंतरि नामु वसाइआ ॥
O Life of the World, rejuvenate me! O my Lord and Master, enshrine Your Name deep within my heart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥
Naanak Guroo Guroo Hai Pooraa Mil Sathigur Naam Dhhiaaeiaa ||4||5||
नानक गुरू गुरू है पूरा मिलि सतिगुर नामु धिआइआ ॥४॥५॥
O Nanak, perfect is the Guru, the Guru. Meeting the True Guru, I meditate on the Naam. ||4||5||

ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਵਡਾ ਵਡ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Sathagur Dhaathaa Vaddaa Vadd Purakh Hai Jith Miliai Har Our Dhhaarae ||
सतगुरु दाता वडा वड पुरखु है जितु मिलिऐ हरि उर धारे ॥
The True Guru, the Great Giver, is the Great, Primal Being; meeting Him, the Lord is enshrined within the heart.
ਜੀਅ ਦਾਨੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
Jeea Dhaan Gur Poorai Dheeaa Har Anmrith Naam Samaarae ||1||
जीअ दानु गुरि पूरै दीआ हरि अम्रित नामु समारे ॥१॥
The Perfect Guru has granted me the life of the soul; I meditate in remembrance on the Ambrosial Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਗੁਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Raam Gur Har Har Naam Kanth Dhhaarae ||
राम गुरि हरि हरि नामु कंठि धारे ॥
O Lord, the Guru has implanted the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, within my heart.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣੀ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਡ ਭਾਗ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Guramukh Kathhaa Sunee Man Bhaaee Dhhan Dhhan Vadd Bhaag Hamaarae ||1|| Rehaao ||
गुरमुखि कथा सुणी मनि भाई धनु धनु वड भाग हमारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
As Gurmukh, I have heard His sermon, which pleases my mind; blessed, blessed is my great destiny. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਪਾਰੇ ॥
Kott Kott Thaethees Dhhiaavehi Thaa Kaa Anth N Paavehi Paarae ||
कोटि कोटि तेतीस धिआवहि ता का अंतु न पावहि पारे ॥
Millions, three hundred thirty millions of gods meditate on Him, but they cannot find His end or limitation.
ਹਿਰਦੈ ਕਾਮ ਕਾਮਨੀ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਮਾਗਹਿ ਹਾਥੁ ਪਸਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
Hiradhai Kaam Kaamanee Maagehi Ridhh Maagehi Haathh Pasaarae ||2||
हिरदै काम कामनी मागहि रिधि मागहि हाथु पसारे ॥२॥
With sexual urges in their hearts, they beg for beautiful women; stretching out their hands, they beg for riches. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਜਪਿ ਜਪੁ ਵਡਾ ਵਡੇਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਖਉ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Har Jas Jap Jap Vaddaa Vaddaeraa Guramukh Rakho Our Dhhaarae ||
हरि जसु जपि जपु वडा वडेरा गुरमुखि रखउ उरि धारे ॥
One who chants the Praises of the Lord is the greatest of the great; the Gurmukh keeps the Lord clasped to his heart.
ਜੇ ਵਡ ਭਾਗ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
Jae Vadd Bhaag Hovehi Thaa Japeeai Har Bhoujal Paar Outhaarae ||3||
जे वड भाग होवहि ता जपीऐ हरि भउजलु पारि उतारे ॥३॥
If one is blessed with high destiny, he meditates on the Lord, who carries him across the terrifying world-ocean. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ਕੰਠਿ ਜਨ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
Har Jan Nikatt Nikatt Har Jan Hai Har Raakhai Kanth Jan Dhhaarae ||
हरि जन निकटि निकटि हरि जन है हरि राखै कंठि जन धारे ॥
The Lord is close to His humble servant, and His humble servant is close to the Lord; He keeps His humble servant clasped to His Heart.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੮॥
Naanak Pithaa Maathaa Hai Har Prabh Ham Baarik Har Prathipaarae ||4||6||18||
नानक पिता माता है हरि प्रभु हम बारिक हरि प्रतिपारे ॥४॥६॥१८॥
O Nanak, the Lord God is our father and mother. I am His child; the Lord cherishes me. ||4||6||18||

ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਣੁ ਅਵਗਣੁ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਹੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
Kirapaa Karahu Dheen Kae Dhaathae Maeraa Gun Avagan N Beechaarahu Koee ||
किरपा करहु दीन के दाते मेरा गुणु अवगणु न बीचारहु कोई ॥
Have mercy on me, O Generous Giver, Lord of the meek; please do not consider my merits and demerits.
ਮਾਟੀ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਧੋਪੈ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮਾਣਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਏਹੀ ॥੧॥
Maattee Kaa Kiaa Dhhopai Suaamee Maanas Kee Gath Eaehee ||1||
माटी का किआ धोपै सुआमी माणस की गति एही ॥१॥
How can dust be washed? O my Lord and Master, such is the state of mankind. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
Maerae Man Sathigur Saev Sukh Hoee ||
मेरे मन सतिगुरु सेवि सुखु होई ॥
O my mind, serve the True Guru, and be at peace.
ਜੋ ਇਛਹੁ ਸੋਈ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jo Eishhahu Soee Fal Paavahu Fir Dhookh N Viaapai Koee ||1|| Rehaao ||
जो इछहु सोई फलु पावहु फिरि दूखु न विआपै कोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Whatever you desire, you shall receive that reward, and you shall not be afflicted by pain any longer. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਚੇ ਭਾਡੇ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜੇ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
Kaachae Bhaaddae Saaj Nivaajae Anthar Joth Samaaee ||
काचे भाडे साजि निवाजे अंतरि जोति समाई ॥
He creates and adorns the earthen vessels; He infuses His Light within them.
ਜੈਸਾ ਲਿਖਤੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਰਤੈ ਹਮ ਤੈਸੀ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
Jaisaa Likhath Likhiaa Dhhur Karathai Ham Thaisee Kirath Kamaaee ||2||
जैसा लिखतु लिखिआ धुरि करतै हम तैसी किरति कमाई ॥२॥
As is the destiny pre-ordained by the Creator, so are the deeds we do. ||2||
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਥਾਪਿ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਏਹੋ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
Man Than Thhaap Keeaa Sabh Apanaa Eaeho Aavan Jaanaa ||
मनु तनु थापि कीआ सभु अपना एहो आवण जाणा ॥
He believes the mind and body are all his own; this is the cause of his coming and going.
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੋ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਅੰਧੁ ਲਪਟਾਣਾ ॥੩॥
Jin Dheeaa So Chith N Aavai Mohi Andhh Lapattaanaa ||3||
जिनि दीआ सो चिति न आवै मोहि अंधु लपटाणा ॥३॥
He does not think of the One who gave him these; he is blind, entangled in emotional attachment. ||3||
