God is infinite, the highest of the high. ||3||
ਸੁ ਮਤਿ ਸਾਰੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰੀਜੈ ॥

सु मति सारु जितु हरि सिमरीजै ॥
That mind is excellent and sublime, which meditates in remembrance on the Lord.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Jis Aapae Dheejai ||
करि किरपा जिसु आपे दीजै ॥
In His Mercy, the Lord Himself bestows it.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
Sookh Sehaj Aanandh Har Naao ||
सूख सहज आनंद हरि नाउ ॥
Peace, intuitive poise and bliss are found in the Lord's Name.

Abandon all your clever tricks.
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਸਾਜਿ ॥
Kar Saevaa Saevak Saaj ||
करि सेवा सेवक साजि ॥
Become His servant, and serve Him.
ਅਪਨਾ ਆਪੁ ਸਗਲ ਮਿਟਾਇ ॥
Apanaa Aap Sagal Mittaae ||
अपना आपु सगल मिटाइ ॥
Totally erase your self-conceit.
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥
Man Chindhae Saeee Fal Paae ||1||
मन चिंदे सेई फल पाइ ॥१॥
You shall obtain the fruits of your mind's desires. ||1||
ਹੋਹੁ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ॥
Hohu Saavadhhaan Apunae Gur Sio ||
होहु सावधान अपुने गुर सिउ ॥
Be awake and aware with your Guru.
ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Aasaa Manasaa Pooran Hovai Paavehi Sagal Nidhhaan Gur Sio ||1|| Rehaao ||
आसा मनसा पूरन होवै पावहि सगल निधान गुर सिउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Your hopes and desires shall be fulfilled, and you shall obtain all treasures from the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
Dhoojaa Nehee Jaanai Koe ||
दूजा नही जानै कोइ ॥
Let no one think that God and Guru are separate.
ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
Sathagur Niranjan Soe ||
सतगुरु निरंजनु सोइ ॥
The True Guru is the Immaculate Lord.
ਮਾਨੁਖ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
Maanukh Kaa Kar Roop N Jaan ||
मानुख का करि रूपु न जानु ॥
Do not believe that He is a mere human being;
ਮਿਲੀ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
Milee Nimaanae Maan ||2||
मिली निमाने मानु ॥२॥
He gives honor to the dishonored. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ਟਿਕਾਇ ॥
Gur Kee Har Ttaek Ttikaae ||
गुर की हरि टेक टिकाइ ॥
Hold tight to the Support of the Guru, the Lord.
ਅਵਰ ਆਸਾ ਸਭ ਲਾਹਿ ॥
Avar Aasaa Sabh Laahi ||
अवर आसा सभ लाहि ॥
Give up all other hopes.
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਾਗੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥
Har Kaa Naam Maag Nidhhaan ||
हरि का नामु मागु निधानु ॥
Ask for the treasure of the Name of the Lord,
ਤਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
Thaa Dharageh Paavehi Maan ||3||
ता दरगह पावहि मानु ॥३॥
And then you shall be honored in the Court of the Lord. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜਪਿ ਮੰਤੁ ॥

गुर का बचनु जपि मंतु ॥
Chant the Mantra of the Guru's Word.

एहा भगति सार ततु ॥
This is the essence of true devotional worship.

When the True Guru becomes merciful,

Leave your egotistical pride behind.
ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥
Dhin Rain Sadhaa Gun Gaao ||
दिनु रैनि सदा गुन गाउ ॥
Day and night, continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਪੂਰਨ ਏਹੀ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥
Pooran Eaehee Suaao ||1||
पूरन एही सुआउ ॥१॥
This is the perfect purpose of human life. ||1||

Meditate on the Lord, O Saints, and be in bliss.

एक की करि आस भीतरि ॥
Place the hopes of your mind in the One Lord.

निरमल जपि नामु हरि हरि ॥
Chant the Immaculate Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਿ ॥
Gur Kae Charan Namasakaar ||
गुर के चरन नमसकारि ॥
Bow down to the Guru's Feet,
ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
Bhavajal Outharehi Paar ||2||
भवजलु उतरहि पारि ॥२॥
And cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ||2||
ਦੇਵਨਹਾਰ ਦਾਤਾਰ ॥
Dhaevanehaar Dhaathaar ||
देवनहार दातार ॥
The Lord God is the Great Giver.
ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥

अंतु न पारावार ॥
He has no end or limitation.
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
Jaa Kai Ghar Sarab Nidhhaan ||
जा कै घरि सरब निधान ॥
All treasures are in His home.
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥
Raakhanehaar Nidhaan ||3||
राखनहार निदान ॥३॥
He will be your Saving Grace in the end. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਏਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥

नानक पाइआ एहु निधान ॥
Nanak has obtained this treasure,
ਹਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮ ॥

हरे हरि निरमल नाम ॥
The immaculate Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਜੋ ਜਪੈ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
Jo Japai This Kee Gath Hoe ||
जो जपै तिस की गति होइ ॥
Whoever chants it, is emancipated.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੪੦॥

ਜਾਹਿ ਨ ਦਰਗਹ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
Jaahi N Dharageh Haar ||
जाहि न दरगह हारि ॥
You shall not be destroyed when you go to the Lord's Court.
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Halath Palath Thudhh Hoe Vaddiaaee ||
हलति पलति तुधु होइ वडिआई ॥
In this world and the next, you shall obtain honor and glory.
ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬੇਲਾ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਈ ॥੧॥
Anth Kee Baelaa Leae Shhaddaaee ||1||
अंत की बेला लए छडाई ॥१॥
At the very last moment, He will save you. ||1||
ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥

राम के गुन गाउ ॥
Sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਹੋਹਿ ਦੋਵੈ ਸੁਹੇਲੇ ਅਚਰਜ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਧਿਆਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Halath Palath Hohi Dhovai Suhaelae Acharaj Purakh Dhhiaao ||1|| Rehaao ||
हलतु पलतु होहि दोवै सुहेले अचरज पुरखु धिआउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
In both this world and the next, you shall be embellished with beauty, meditating on the wondrous Primal Lord God. ||1||Pause||
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
Oothath Baithath Har Jaap ||
ऊठत बैठत हरि जापु ॥
While standing up and sitting down, meditate on the Lord,
ਬਿਨਸੈ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਤਾਪੁ ॥
Binasai Sagal Santhaap ||
बिनसै सगल संतापु ॥
And all your troubles shall depart.
ਬੈਰੀ ਸਭਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਮੀਤ ॥
Bairee Sabh Hovehi Meeth ||
बैरी सभि होवहि मीत ॥
All your enemies will become friends.
ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਚੀਤ ॥੨॥
Niramal Thaeraa Hovai Cheeth ||2||
निरमलु तेरा होवै चीत ॥२॥
Your consciousness shall be immaculate and pure. ||2||
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਤਮ ਇਹੁ ਕਰਮੁ ॥
Sabh Thae Ootham Eihu Karam ||
सभ ते ऊतम इहु करमु ॥
This is the most exalted deed.
ਸਗਲ ਧਰਮ ਮਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੇਸਟ ਧਰਮੁ ॥
Sagal Dhharam Mehi Sraesatt Dhharam ||
सगल धरम महि स्रेसट धरमु ॥
Of all faiths, this is the most sublime and excellent faith.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰੁ ॥
Har Simaran Thaeraa Hoe Oudhhaar ||
हरि सिमरनि तेरा होइ उधारु ॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, you shall be saved.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਉਤਰੈ ਭਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
Janam Janam Kaa Outharai Bhaar ||3||
जनम जनम का उतरै भारु ॥३॥
You shall be rid of the burden of countless incarnations. ||3||
ਪੂਰਨ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੋਵੈ ਆਸ ॥
Pooran Thaeree Hovai Aas ||
पूरन तेरी होवै आस ॥
Your hopes shall be fulfilled,
ਜਮ ਕੀ ਕਟੀਐ ਤੇਰੀ ਫਾਸ ॥
Jam Kee Katteeai Thaeree Faas ||
जम की कटीऐ तेरी फास ॥
And the noose of the Messenger of Death will be cut away.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਸੁਨੀਜੈ ॥
Gur Kaa Oupadhaes Suneejai ||
गुर का उपदेसु सुनीजै ॥
So listen to the Guru's Teachings.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮੀਜੈ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੪੧॥
Naanak Sukh Sehaj Sameejai ||4||30||41||
नानक सुखि सहजि समीजै ॥४॥३०॥४१॥
O Nanak, you shall be absorbed in celestial peace. ||4||30||41||
