Within your heart, worship and adore the Destroyer of fear.

You are the One and only merciful Master,

Master of hearts, Dispenser of justice,
ਕੁਰਾਨ ਕਤੇਬ ਤੇ ਪਾਕੁ ॥੩॥

More sacred than the Koran and the Bible. ||3||

The Lord is powerful and merciful.
ਰਮਤ ਰਾਮ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਆਧਾਰ ॥
Ramath Raam Ghatt Ghatt Aadhhaar ||
रमत राम घट घट आधार ॥
The all-pervading Lord is the support of each and every heart.
ਬਾਸੁਦੇਵ ਬਸਤ ਸਭ ਠਾਇ ॥
Baasudhaev Basath Sabh Thaae ||
बासुदेव बसत सभ ठाइ ॥
The luminous Lord dwells everywhere.
ਲੀਲਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਲਖੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥

लीला किछु लखी न जाइ ॥४॥
His play cannot be known. ||4||

Be kind and compassionate to me, O Creator Lord.

भगति बंदगी देहि सिरजणहार ॥

हरि हरि जपत नाही संताप ॥
Meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, pain will not afflict you.
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੇ ॥

गुर के चरन कमल मनि वसे ॥
When the Lord's lotus feet are enshrined in the mind,
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਨਸੇ ॥੧॥

महा बिकार तन ते सभि नसे ॥१॥
All terrible evils are taken away from the body. ||1||

त्रिसना भूख सभ नासी ॥
Hunger and thirst are totally quenched;
ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
Santh Prasaadh Japiaa Abinaasee ||
संत प्रसादि जपिआ अबिनासी ॥
By the Grace of the Saints, meditate on the immortal Lord.
ਰੈਨਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵ ਕਮਾਨੀ ॥

रैनि दिनसु प्रभ सेव कमानी ॥
Night and day, serve God.
ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਣੈ ਕੀ ਏਹ ਨੀਸਾਨੀ ॥੨॥

हरि मिलणै की एह नीसानी ॥२॥
This is the sign that one has met with the Lord. ||2||
ਮਿਟੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ਹੋਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
Mittae Janjaal Hoeae Prabh Dhaeiaal ||
मिटे जंजाल होए प्रभ दइआल ॥
Worldly entanglements are ended, when God becomes merciful.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
Gur Kaa Dharasan Dhaekh Nihaal ||
गुर का दरसनु देखि निहाल ॥
Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Guru's Darshan, I am enraptured.
ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਲਾ ਕਰਮੁ ਬਣਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
Paraa Poorabalaa Karam Ban Aaeiaa ||
परा पूरबला करमु बणि आइआ ॥
My perfect pre-destined karma has been activated.
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਤ ਰਸਨਾ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Har Kae Gun Nith Rasanaa Gaaeiaa ||3||
हरि के गुण नित रसना गाइआ ॥३॥
With my tongue, I continually sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਸਦਾ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
Har Kae Santh Sadhaa Paravaan ||
हरि के संत सदा परवाणु ॥
The Saints of the Lord are accepted and approved forever.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥
Santh Janaa Masathak Neesaan ||
संत जना मसतकि नीसाणु ॥
The foreheads of the Saintly people are marked with the Lord's insignia.
ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਪਾਏ ਜੇ ਕੋਇ ॥
Dhaas Kee Raen Paaeae Jae Koe ||
दास की रेणु पाए जे कोइ ॥
One who is blessed with the dust of the feet of the Lord's slave,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੫॥੪੬॥

नानक तिस की परम गति होइ ॥४॥३५॥४६॥

Let yourself be a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਧਰਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
Charan Kamal Hiradhai Dhhar Dhhiaan ||
चरन कमल हिरदै धरि धिआनु ॥
Focus your heart's meditation on the Lord's lotus feet.
ਧੂਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਾਇ ॥
Dhhoor Santhan Kee Masathak Laae ||
धूरि संतन की मसतकि लाइ ॥
Apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to your forehead,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਲੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
Janam Janam Kee Dhuramath Mal Jaae ||1||
जनम जनम की दुरमति मलु जाइ ॥१॥
And the filthy evil-mindedness of countless incarnations will be washed off. ||1||
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਮਿਟੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
Jis Bhaettath Mittai Abhimaan ||
जिसु भेटत मिटै अभिमानु ॥
Meeting Him, egotistical pride is eradicated,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Paarabreham Sabh Nadharee Aavai Kar Kirapaa Pooran Bhagavaan ||1|| Rehaao ||
पारब्रहमु सभु नदरी आवै करि किरपा पूरन भगवान ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
And you will come to see the Supreme Lord God in all. The Perfect Lord God has showered His Mercy. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥
Gur Kee Keerath Japeeai Har Naao ||
गुर की कीरति जपीऐ हरि नाउ ॥
This is the Guru's Praise, to chant the Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
Gur Kee Bhagath Sadhaa Gun Gaao ||
गुर की भगति सदा गुण गाउ ॥
This is devotion to the Guru, to sing forever the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
Gur Kee Surath Nikatt Kar Jaan ||
गुर की सुरति निकटि करि जानु ॥
This is contemplation upon the Guru, to know that the Lord is close at hand.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
Gur Kaa Sabadh Sath Kar Maan ||2||
गुर का सबदु सति करि मानु ॥२॥
Accept the Word of the Guru's Shabad as Truth. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਦੂਖ ॥
Gur Bachanee Samasar Sukh Dhookh ||
गुर बचनी समसरि सुख दूख ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Teachings, look upon pleasure and pain as one and the same.
ਕਦੇ ਨ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਭੂਖ ॥
Kadhae N Biaapai Thrisanaa Bhookh ||
कदे न बिआपै त्रिसना भूख ॥
Hunger and thirst shall never afflict you.
ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਗੁਰ ਰਾਜੇ ॥
Man Santhokh Sabadh Gur Raajae ||
मनि संतोखु सबदि गुर राजे ॥
The mind becomes content and satisfied through the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਜਪਿ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਪੜਦੇ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜੇ ॥੩॥
Jap Gobindh Parradhae Sabh Kaajae ||3||
जपि गोबिंदु पड़दे सभि काजे ॥३॥
Meditate on the Lord of the Universe, and He will cover all your faults. ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ॥
Gur Paramaesar Gur Govindh ||
गुरु परमेसरु गुरु गोविंदु ॥
The Guru is the Supreme Lord God; the Guru is the Lord of the Universe.
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਬਖਸਿੰਦੁ ॥
Gur Dhaathaa Dhaeiaal Bakhasindh ||
गुरु दाता दइआल बखसिंदु ॥
The Guru is the Great Giver, merciful and forgiving.
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
Gur Charanee Jaa Kaa Man Laagaa ||
गुर चरनी जा का मनु लागा ॥
One whose mind is attached to the Guru's feet,
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੩੬॥੪੭॥
