ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
Jis Bhaanaa Bhaavai So Thujhehi Samaaeae ||
जिसु भाणा भावै सो तुझहि समाए ॥
One who is pleased with Your Will is immersed in You.
ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਭਾਣਾ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੩॥
Bhaanae Vich Vaddee Vaddiaaee Bhaanaa Kisehi Karaaeidhaa ||3||
भाणे विचि वडी वडिआई भाणा किसहि कराइदा ॥३॥
Glorious greatness rests in God's Will; rare are those who accept it. ||3||
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Jaa This Bhaavai Thaa Guroo Milaaeae ||
जा तिसु भावै ता गुरू मिलाए ॥
When it pleases His Will, He leads us to meet the Guru.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਏ ॥
Guramukh Naam Padhaarathh Paaeae ||
गुरमुखि नामु पदारथु पाए ॥
The Gurmukh finds the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਭਾਣਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਇਦਾ ॥੪॥
Thudhh Aapanai Bhaanai Sabh Srisatt Oupaaee Jis No Bhaanaa Dhaehi This Bhaaeidhaa ||4||
तुधु आपणै भाणै सभ स्रिसटि उपाई जिस नो भाणा देहि तिसु भाइदा ॥४॥
By Your Will, You created the whole Universe; those whom You bless with Your favor are pleased with Your Will. ||4||
ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਰੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
Manamukh Andhh Karae Chathuraaee ||
मनमुखु अंधु करे चतुराई ॥
The blind, self-willed manmukhs practice cleverness.
ਭਾਣਾ ਨ ਮੰਨੇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
Bhaanaa N Mannae Bahuth Dhukh Paaee ||
भाणा न मंने बहुतु दुखु पाई ॥
They do not surrender to the Lord's Will, and suffer terrible pain.
ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ਘਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੫॥
Bharamae Bhoolaa Aavai Jaaeae Ghar Mehal N Kabehoo Paaeidhaa ||5||
भरमे भूला आवै जाए घरु महलु न कबहू पाइदा ॥५॥
Deluded by doubt, they come and go in reincarnation; they never find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||5||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Sathigur Maelae Dhae Vaddiaaee ||
सतिगुरु मेले दे वडिआई ॥
The True Guru brings Union, and grants glorious greatness.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਧੁਰਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਈ ॥
Sathigur Kee Saevaa Dhhur Furamaaee ||
सतिगुर की सेवा धुरि फुरमाई ॥
The Primal Lord ordained service to the True Guru.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
Sathigur Saevae Thaa Naam Paaeae Naamae Hee Sukh Paaeidhaa ||6||
सतिगुर सेवे ता नामु पाए नामे ही सुखु पाइदा ॥६॥
Serving the True Guru, the Naam is obtained. Through the Naam, one finds peace. ||6||
ਸਭ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਛੀਜੈ ॥
Sabh Naavahu Oupajai Naavahu Shheejai ||
सभ नावहु उपजै नावहु छीजै ॥
Everything wells up from the Naam, and through the Naam, perishes.
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੀਜੈ ॥
Gur Kirapaa Thae Man Than Bheejai ||
गुर किरपा ते मनु तनु भीजै ॥
By Guru's Grace, the mind and body are pleased with the Naam.
ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਸਿ ਭੀਜੈ ਰਸ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
Rasanaa Naam Dhhiaaeae Ras Bheejai Ras Hee Thae Ras Paaeidhaa ||7||
रसना नामु धिआए रसि भीजै रस ही ते रसु पाइदा ॥७॥
Meditating on the Naam, the tongue is drenched with the Lord's sublime essence. Through this essence, the Essence is obtained. ||7||
ਮਹਲੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਕੋ ਪਾਏ ॥
Mehalai Andhar Mehal Ko Paaeae ||
महलै अंदरि महलु को पाए ॥
Rare are those who find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence within the mansion of their own body.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
Gur Kai Sabadh Sach Chith Laaeae ||
गुर कै सबदि सचि चितु लाए ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they lovingly focus their consciousness on the True Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੋਈ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
Jis No Sach Dhaee Soee Sach Paaeae Sachae Sach Milaaeidhaa ||8||
जिस नो सचु देइ सोई सचु पाए सचे सचि मिलाइदा ॥८॥
Whoever the Lord blesses with Truth obtains Truth; he merges in Truth, and only Truth. ||8||
ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Naam Visaar Man Than Dhukh Paaeiaa ||
नामु विसारि मनि तनि दुखु पाइआ ॥
Forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body suffer in pain.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥
Maaeiaa Mohu Sabh Rog Kamaaeiaa ||
माइआ मोहु सभु रोगु कमाइआ ॥
Attached to the love of Maya, he earns nothing but disease.
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹੈ ਕੁਸਟੀ ਨਰਕੇ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
Bin Naavai Man Than Hai Kusattee Narakae Vaasaa Paaeidhaa ||9||
बिनु नावै मनु तनु है कुसटी नरके वासा पाइदा ॥९॥
Without the Name, his mind and body are afflicted with leprosy, and he obtains his home in hell. ||9||
ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦੇਹਾ ॥
Naam Rathae Thin Niramal Dhaehaa ||
नामि रते तिन निरमल देहा ॥
Those who are imbued with the Naam - their bodies are immaculate and pure.
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੰਸਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਨੇਹਾ ॥
Niramal Hansaa Sadhaa Sukh Naehaa ||
निरमल हंसा सदा सुखु नेहा ॥
Their soul-swan is immaculate, and in the Lord's Love, they find eternal peace.
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
Naam Salaahi Sadhaa Sukh Paaeiaa Nij Ghar Vaasaa Paaeidhaa ||10||
नामु सलाहि सदा सुखु पाइआ निज घरि वासा पाइदा ॥१०॥
Praising the Naam, they find eternal peace, and dwell in the home of their own inner being. ||10||
ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰੇ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ॥
Sabh Ko Vanaj Karae Vaapaaraa ||
सभु को वणजु करे वापारा ॥
Everyone deals and trades.
ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਤੋਟਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
Vin Naavai Sabh Thottaa Sansaaraa ||
विणु नावै सभु तोटा संसारा ॥
Without the Name, all the world loses.
ਨਾਗੋ ਆਇਆ ਨਾਗੋ ਜਾਸੀ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
Naago Aaeiaa Naago Jaasee Vin Naavai Dhukh Paaeidhaa ||11||
नागो आइआ नागो जासी विणु नावै दुखु पाइदा ॥११॥
Naked they come, and naked they go; without the Name, they suffer in pain. ||11||
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ॥
Jis No Naam Dhaee So Paaeae ||
जिस नो नामु देइ सो पाए ॥
He alone obtains the Naam, unto whom the Lord gives it.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
Gur Kai Sabadh Har Mann Vasaaeae ||
गुर कै सबदि हरि मंनि वसाए ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord comes to dwell in the mind.
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
Gur Kirapaa Thae Naam Vasiaa Ghatt Anthar Naamo Naam Dhhiaaeidhaa ||12||
गुर किरपा ते नामु वसिआ घट अंतरि नामो नामु धिआइदा ॥१२॥
By Guru's Grace, the Naam dwells deep within the heart, and one meditates upon the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||12||
ਨਾਵੈ ਨੋ ਲੋਚੈ ਜੇਤੀ ਸਭ ਆਈ ॥
Naavai No Lochai Jaethee Sabh Aaee ||
नावै नो लोचै जेती सभ आई ॥
Everyone who comes into the world, longs for the Name.
ਨਾਉ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਕਮਾਈ ॥
Naao Thinaa Milai Dhhur Purab Kamaaee ||
नाउ तिना मिलै धुरि पुरबि कमाई ॥
They alone are blessed with the Name, whose past actions were so ordained by the Primal Lord.
ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਉ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
Jinee Naao Paaeiaa Sae Vaddabhaagee Gur Kai Sabadh Milaaeidhaa ||13||
जिनी नाउ पाइआ से वडभागी गुर कै सबदि मिलाइदा ॥१३॥
Those who obtain the Name are very fortunate. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are united with God. ||13||
ਕਾਇਆ ਕੋਟੁ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Kaaeiaa Kott Ath Apaaraa ||
काइआ कोटु अति अपारा ॥
Utterly incomparable is the fortress of the body.
ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
This Vich Behi Prabh Karae Veechaaraa ||
तिसु विचि बहि प्रभु करे वीचारा ॥
Within it, God sits in contemplation.
ਸਚਾ ਨਿਆਉ ਸਚੋ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
Sachaa Niaao Sacho Vaapaaraa Nihachal Vaasaa Paaeidhaa ||14||
सचा निआउ सचो वापारा निहचलु वासा पाइदा ॥१४॥
He administers true justice, and trades in Truth; through Him, one finds the eternal, unchanging dwelling. ||14||
ਅੰਤਰ ਘਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥
Anthar Ghar Bankae Thhaan Suhaaeiaa ||
अंतर घर बंके थानु सुहाइआ ॥
Deep within the inner self are glorious homes and beautiful places.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਿਨੈ ਥਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Guramukh Viralai Kinai Thhaan Paaeiaa ||
गुरमुखि विरलै किनै थानु पाइआ ॥
But rare is that person who, as Gurmukh, finds these places.
ਇਤੁ ਸਾਥਿ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ਸਚੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
Eith Saathh Nibehai Saalaahae Sachae Har Sachaa Mann Vasaaeidhaa ||15||
इतु साथि निबहै सालाहे सचे हरि सचा मंनि वसाइदा ॥१५॥
If one stays in these places, and praises the True Lord, the True Lord comes to dwell in the mind. ||15||
ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਇਕ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
Maerai Karathai Eik Banath Banaaee ||
मेरै करतै इक बणत बणाई ॥
My Creator Lord has formed this formation.
ਇਸੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭ ਵਥੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
Eis Dhaehee Vich Sabh Vathh Paaee ||
इसु देही विचि सभ वथु पाई ॥
He has placed everything within this body.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਣਜਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੬॥੨੦॥
Naanak Naam Vanajehi Rang Raathae Guramukh Ko Naam Paaeidhaa ||16||6||20||
नानक नामु वणजहि रंगि राते गुरमुखि को नामु पाइदा ॥१६॥६॥२०॥
O Nanak, those who deal in the Naam are imbued with His Love. The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||16||6||20||

Maaroo, Third Mehl:
ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
Kaaeiaa Kanchan Sabadh Veechaaraa ||
काइआ कंचनु सबदु वीचारा ॥
Contemplating the Word of the Shabad, the body becomes golden.
ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਵਸੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
Thithhai Har Vasai Jis Dhaa Anth N Paaraavaaraa ||
तिथै हरि वसै जिस दा अंतु न पारावारा ॥
The Lord abides there; He has no end or limitation.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਹੁ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧॥
Anadhin Har Saevihu Sachee Baanee Har Jeeo Sabadh Milaaeidhaa ||1||
अनदिनु हरि सेविहु सची बाणी हरि जीउ सबदि मिलाइदा ॥१॥
Night and day, serve the Lord, and chant the True Word of the Guru's Bani. Through the Shabad, meet the Dear Lord. ||1||
