ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਵਰਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੪॥
Aapae Sach Dhhaariou Sabh Saachaa Sachae Sach Varatheejaa Hae ||4||
आपे सचु धारिओ सभु साचा सचे सचि वरतीजा हे ॥४॥
He Himself is True, and true is all that He has established. True is the prevailing Order of the True Lord. ||4||
ਸਚੁ ਤਪਾਵਸੁ ਸਚੇ ਕੇਰਾ ॥
Sach Thapaavas Sachae Kaeraa ||
सचु तपावसु सचे केरा ॥
True is the justice of the True Lord.
ਸਾਚਾ ਥਾਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
Saachaa Thhaan Sadhaa Prabh Thaeraa ||
साचा थानु सदा प्रभ तेरा ॥
Your place is forever True, O God.
ਸਚੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸੁਖੁ ਕੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੫॥
Sachee Kudharath Sachee Baanee Sach Saahib Sukh Keejaa Hae ||5||
सची कुदरति सची बाणी सचु साहिब सुखु कीजा हे ॥५॥
True is Your Creative Power, and True is the Word of Your Bani. True is the peace which You give, O my Lord and Master. ||5||
ਏਕੋ ਆਪਿ ਤੂਹੈ ਵਡ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
Eaeko Aap Thoohai Vadd Raajaa ||
एको आपि तूहै वड राजा ॥
You alone are the greatest king.
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੈ ਪੂਰੇ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
Hukam Sachae Kai Poorae Kaajaa ||
हुकमि सचे कै पूरे काजा ॥
By the Hukam of Your Command, O True Lord, our affairs are fulfilled.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੬॥
Anthar Baahar Sabh Kishh Jaanai Aapae Hee Aap Patheejaa Hae ||6||
अंतरि बाहरि सभु किछु जाणै आपे ही आपि पतीजा हे ॥६॥
Inwardly and outwardly, You know everything; You Yourself are pleased with Yourself. ||6||
ਤੂ ਵਡ ਰਸੀਆ ਤੂ ਵਡ ਭੋਗੀ ॥
Thoo Vadd Raseeaa Thoo Vadd Bhogee ||
तू वड रसीआ तू वड भोगी ॥
You are the great party-goer, You are the great enjoyer.
ਤੂ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ਤੂਹੈ ਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ॥
Thoo Nirabaan Thoohai Hee Jogee ||
तू निरबाणु तूहै ही जोगी ॥
You are detached in Nirvaanaa, You are the Yogi.
ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਅਮਿਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
Sarab Sookh Sehaj Ghar Thaerai Amio Thaeree Dhrisatteejaa Hae ||7||
सरब सूख सहज घरि तेरै अमिउ तेरी द्रिसटीजा हे ॥७॥
All celestial comforts are in Your home; Your Glance of Grace rains Nectar. ||7||
ਤੇਰੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਤੁਝੈ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ॥
Thaeree Dhaath Thujhai Thae Hovai ||
तेरी दाति तुझै ते होवै ॥
You alone give Your gifts.
ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਭਸੈ ਜੰਤ ਲੋਐ ॥
Dhaehi Dhaan Sabhasai Janth Loai ||
देहि दानु सभसै जंत लोऐ ॥
You grant Your gifts unto all the beings of the world.
ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਪੂਰ ਭੰਡਾਰੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
Thott N Aavai Poor Bhanddaarai Thripath Rehae Aagheejaa Hae ||8||
तोटि न आवै पूर भंडारै त्रिपति रहे आघीजा हे ॥८॥
Your treasures are overflowing, and are never exhausted; through them, we remain satisfied and fulfilled. ||8||
ਜਾਚਹਿ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਬਨਵਾਸੀ ॥
Jaachehi Sidhh Saadhhik Banavaasee ||
जाचहि सिध साधिक बनवासी ॥
The Siddhas, seekers and forest-dwellers beg from You.
ਜਾਚਹਿ ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
Jaachehi Jathee Sathee Sukhavaasee ||
जाचहि जती सती सुखवासी ॥
The celibates and abstainers, and those who abide in peace beg from You.
ਇਕੁ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਸਗਲ ਹੈ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੯॥
Eik Dhaathaar Sagal Hai Jaachik Dhaehi Dhaan Srisatteejaa Hae ||9||
इकु दातारु सगल है जाचिक देहि दानु स्रिसटीजा हे ॥९॥
You alone are the Great Giver; all are beggars of You. You bless all the world with Your gifts. ||9||
ਕਰਹਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਅਰੁ ਰੰਗ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Karehi Bhagath Ar Rang Apaaraa ||
करहि भगति अरु रंग अपारा ॥
Your devotees worship You with infinite love.
ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
Khin Mehi Thhaap Outhhaapanehaaraa ||
खिन महि थापि उथापनहारा ॥
In an instant, You establish and disestablish.
ਭਾਰੋ ਤੋਲੁ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਭਗਤੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੦॥
Bhaaro Thol Baeanth Suaamee Hukam Mann Bhagatheejaa Hae ||10||
भारो तोलु बेअंत सुआमी हुकमु मंनि भगतीजा हे ॥१०॥
Your weight is so heavy, O my infinite Lord and Master. Your devotees surrender to the Hukam of Your Command. ||10||
ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਸੋਈ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
Jis Dhaehi Dharas Soee Thudhh Jaanai ||
जिसु देहि दरसु सोई तुधु जाणै ॥
They alone know You, whom You bless with Your Glance of Grace.
ਓਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੈ ॥
Ouhu Gur Kai Sabadh Sadhaa Rang Maanai ||
ओहु गुर कै सबदि सदा रंग माणै ॥
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they enjoy Your Love forever.
ਚਤੁਰੁ ਸਰੂਪੁ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਸੋਈ ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਭਾਵੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੧॥
Chathur Saroop Siaanaa Soee Jo Man Thaerai Bhaaveejaa Hae ||11||
चतुरु सरूपु सिआणा सोई जो मनि तेरै भावीजा हे ॥११॥
They alone are clever, handsome and wise, who are pleasing to Your Mind. ||11||
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
Jis Cheeth Aavehi So Vaeparavaahaa ||
जिसु चीति आवहि सो वेपरवाहा ॥
One who keeps You in his consciousness, becomes carefree and independent.
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੋ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
Jis Cheeth Aavehi So Saachaa Saahaa ||
जिसु चीति आवहि सो साचा साहा ॥
One who keeps You in his consciousness, is the true king.
ਜਿਸੁ ਚੀਤਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਕੇਹਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਕੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੨॥
Jis Cheeth Aavehi This Bho Kaehaa Avar Kehaa Kishh Keejaa Hae ||12||
जिसु चीति आवहि तिसु भउ केहा अवरु कहा किछु कीजा हे ॥१२॥
One who keeps You in his consciousness - what does he have to fear? And what else does he need to do? ||12||
ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੂਝੀ ਅੰਤਰੁ ਠੰਢਾ ॥
Thrisanaa Boojhee Anthar Thandtaa ||
त्रिसना बूझी अंतरु ठंढा ॥
Thirst and desire are quenched, and one's inner being is cooled and soothed.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਲੈ ਤੂਟਾ ਗੰਢਾ ॥
Gur Poorai Lai Thoottaa Gandtaa ||
गुरि पूरै लै तूटा गंढा ॥
The True Guru has mended the broken one.
ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਗੀ ਅਮਿਉ ਝੋਲਿ ਝੋਲਿ ਪੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੩॥
Surath Sabadh Ridh Anthar Jaagee Amio Jhol Jhol Peejaa Hae ||13||
सुरति सबदु रिद अंतरि जागी अमिउ झोलि झोलि पीजा हे ॥१३॥
Awareness of the Word of the Shabad has awakened within my heart. Shaking it and vibrating it, I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||13||
ਮਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਜੀਵੈ ॥
Marai Naahee Sadh Sadh Hee Jeevai ||
मरै नाही सद सद ही जीवै ॥
I shall not die; I shall live forever and ever.
ਅਮਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਥੀਵੈ ॥
Amar Bhaeiaa Abinaasee Thheevai ||
अमरु भइआ अबिनासी थीवै ॥
I have become immortal; I am eternal and imperishable.
ਨਾ ਕੋ ਆਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਵੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਭਰਮੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੪॥
Naa Ko Aavai Naa Ko Jaavai Gur Dhoor Keeaa Bharameejaa Hae ||14||
ना को आवै ना को जावै गुरि दूरि कीआ भरमीजा हे ॥१४॥
I do not come, and I do not go. The Guru has driven out my doubts. ||14||
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Poorae Gur Kee Pooree Baanee ||
पूरे गुर की पूरी बाणी ॥
Perfect is the Word of the Perfect Guru.
ਪੂਰੈ ਲਾਗਾ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
Poorai Laagaa Poorae Maahi Samaanee ||
पूरै लागा पूरे माहि समाणी ॥
One who is attached to the Perfect Lord, is immersed in the Perfect Lord.
ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਰੰਗਾ ਘਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੋਲੀਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੫॥
Charrai Savaaeiaa Nith Nith Rangaa Ghattai Naahee Tholeejaa Hae ||15||
चड़ै सवाइआ नित नित रंगा घटै नाही तोलीजा हे ॥१५॥
His love increases day by day, and when it is weighed, it does not decrease. ||15||
ਬਾਰਹਾ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸੁਧੁ ਕਰਾਇਆ ॥
Baarehaa Kanchan Sudhh Karaaeiaa ||
बारहा कंचनु सुधु कराइआ ॥
When the gold is made one hundred percent pure,
ਨਦਰਿ ਸਰਾਫ ਵੰਨੀ ਸਚੜਾਇਆ ॥
Nadhar Saraaf Vannee Sacharraaeiaa ||
नदरि सराफ वंनी सचड़ाइआ ॥
Its color is true to the jeweller's eye.
ਪਰਖਿ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਰਾਫੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਾਈਜਾ ਹੇ ॥੧੬॥
Parakh Khajaanai Paaeiaa Saraafee Fir Naahee Thaaeejaa Hae ||16||
परखि खजानै पाइआ सराफी फिरि नाही ताईजा हे ॥१६॥
Assaying it, it is placed in the treasury by God the Jeweller, and it is not melted down again. ||16||
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Anmrith Naam Thumaaraa Suaamee ||
अम्रित नामु तुमारा सुआमी ॥
Your Naam is Ambrosial Nectar, O my Lord and Master.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥
Naanak Dhaas Sadhaa Kurabaanee ||
नानक दास सदा कुरबानी ॥
Nanak, Your slave, is forever a sacrifice to You.
