मेरै अंतरि होइ विगासु प्रिउ प्रिउ सचु नित चवा राम ॥
My inner being blossoms forth; I continually utter, ""Pri-o! Pri-o! Beloved! Beloved!""
ਪ੍ਰਿਉ ਚਵਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਏ ॥
Prio Chavaa Piaarae Sabadh Nisathaarae Bin Dhaekhae Thripath N Aaveae ||
प्रिउ चवा पिआरे सबदि निसतारे बिनु देखे त्रिपति न आवए ॥
I speak of my Dear Beloved, and through the Shabad, I am saved. Unless I can see Him, I am not satisfied.
ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਏ ॥
Sabadh Seegaar Hovai Nith Kaaman Har Har Naam Dhhiaaveae ||
सबदि सीगारु होवै नित कामणि हरि हरि नामु धिआवए ॥
That soul-bride who is ever adorned with the Shabad, meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਦਇਆ ਦਾਨੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥
Dhaeiaa Dhaan Mangath Jan Dheejai Mai Preetham Dhaehu Milaaeae ||
दइआ दानु मंगत जन दीजै मै प्रीतमु देहु मिलाए ॥
Please bless this beggar, Your humble servant, with the Gift of Mercy; please unite me with my Beloved.

Ham Paathhar Gur Naav Bikh Bhavajal Thaareeai Raam ||
हम पाथर गुरु नाव बिखु भवजलु तारीऐ राम ॥
I am a stone in the Boat of the Guru. Please carry me across the terrifying ocean of poison.
ਗੁਰ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਮੈ ਮੂੜ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੀਐ ਰਾਮ ॥

गुर देवहु सबदु सुभाइ मै मूड़ निसतारीऐ राम ॥
O Guru, please, lovingly bless me with the Word of the Shabad. I am such a fool - please save me!
ਹਮ ਮੂੜ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਿਛੁ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ਤੂ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਵਡ ਜਾਣਿਆ ॥
Ham Moorr Mugadhh Kishh Mith Nehee Paaee Thoo Aganm Vadd Jaaniaa ||
हम मूड़ मुगध किछु मिति नही पाई तू अगमु वड जाणिआ ॥
I am a fool and an idiot; I know nothing of Your extent. You are known as Inaccessible and Great.
ਤੂ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਹਮ ਨਿਰਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਮਾਣਿਆ ॥

तू आपि दइआलु दइआ करि मेलहि हम निरगुणी निमाणिआ ॥
You Yourself are Merciful; please, mercifully bless me. I am unworthy and dishonored - please, unite me with Yourself!
ਅਨੇਕ ਜਨਮ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਿ ਭਰਮੇ ਹੁਣਿ ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਆਏ ॥

अनेक जनम पाप करि भरमे हुणि तउ सरणागति आए ॥
Through countless lifetimes, I wandered in sin; now, I have come seeking Your Sanctuary.

दइआ करहु रखि लेवहु हरि जीउ हम लागह सतिगुर पाए ॥३॥

गुर पारस हम लोह मिलि कंचनु होइआ राम ॥
The Guru is the Philosopher's Stone; by His touch, iron is transformed into gold.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
Jothee Joth Milaae Kaaeiaa Garr Sohiaa Raam ||
जोती जोति मिलाइ काइआ गड़ु सोहिआ राम ॥
My light merges into the Light, and my body-fortress is so beautiful.
ਕਾਇਆ ਗੜੁ ਸੋਹਿਆ ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥
Kaaeiaa Garr Sohiaa Maerai Prabh Mohiaa Kio Saas Giraas Visaareeai ||
काइआ गड़ु सोहिआ मेरै प्रभि मोहिआ किउ सासि गिरासि विसारीऐ ॥
My body-fortress is so beautiful; I am fascinated by my God. How could I forget Him, for even a breath, or a morsel of food?

अद्रिसटु अगोचरु पकड़िआ गुर सबदी हउ सतिगुर कै बलिहारीऐ ॥
I have seized the Unseen and Unfathomable Lord, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. I am a sacrifice to the True Guru.

सतिगुर आगै सीसु भेट देउ जे सतिगुर साचे भावै ॥

ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਧਿਆਵਹਿ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਭਉ ਬਿਖਮੁ ਤਰਾ ॥
Jo Thum Dhhiaavehi Jagadhees Thae Jan Bho Bikham Tharaa ||
जो तुम धिआवहि जगदीस ते जन भउ बिखमु तरा ॥
Those who meditate on You, O Lord of the Universe - those humble beings cross over the terrifying, treacherous world-ocean.
ਬਿਖਮ ਭਉ ਤਿਨ ਤਰਿਆ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Bikham Bho Thin Thariaa Suhaelaa Jin Har Har Naam Dhhiaaeiaa ||
बिखम भउ तिन तरिआ सुहेला जिन हरि हरि नामु धिआइआ ॥
Those who meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, easily cross over the terrifying, treacherous world-ocean.
ਗੁਰ ਵਾਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੋ ਭਾਇ ਚਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥
Gur Vaak Sathigur Jo Bhaae Chalae Thin Har Har Aap Milaaeiaa ||
गुर वाकि सतिगुर जो भाइ चले तिन हरि हरि आपि मिलाइआ ॥
Those who lovingly walk in harmony with the Word of the Guru, the True Guru - the Lord, Har, Har, unites them with Himself.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਣੀਧਰਾ ॥
Jothee Joth Mil Joth Samaanee Har Kirapaa Kar Dhharaneedhharaa ||
जोती जोति मिलि जोति समाणी हरि क्रिपा करि धरणीधरा ॥
The mortal's light meets the Light of God, and blends with that Divine Light when the Lord, the Support of the Earth, grants His Grace.

तुम सुआमी अगम अथाह तू घटि घटि पूरि रहिआ ॥
O my Lord and Master, You are Inaccessible and Unfathomable. You are totally pervading and permeating each and every heart.
ਤੂ ਅਲਖ ਅਭੇਉ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਿ ਲਹਿਆ ॥
Thoo Alakh Abhaeo Aganm Gur Sathigur Bachan Lehiaa ||
तू अलख अभेउ अगमु गुर सतिगुर बचनि लहिआ ॥
You are Unseen, Unknowable and Unfathomable; You are found through the Word of the Guru, the True Guru.
ਧਨੁ ਧੰਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰੇ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੇ ॥
Dhhan Dhhann Thae Jan Purakh Poorae Jin Gur Santhasangath Mil Gun Ravae ||
धनु धंनु ते जन पुरख पूरे जिन गुर संतसंगति मिलि गुण रवे ॥
Blessed, blessed are those humble, powerful and perfect people, who join the Guru's Sangat, the Society of the Saints, and chant His Glorious Praises.
ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੁਧਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਤ ਚਵੇ ॥
Bibaek Budhh Beechaar Guramukh Gur Sabadh Khin Khin Har Nith Chavae ||
बिबेक बुधि बीचारि गुरमुखि गुर सबदि खिनु खिनु हरि नित चवे ॥
With clear and precise understanding, the Gurmukhs contemplate the Guru's Shabad; each and every instant, they continually speak of the Lord.
ਜਾ ਬਹਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੋਲਹਿ ਜਾ ਖੜੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
Jaa Behehi Guramukh Har Naam Bolehi Jaa Kharrae Guramukh Har Har Kehiaa ||
जा बहहि गुरमुखि हरि नामु बोलहि जा खड़े गुरमुखि हरि हरि कहिआ ॥
When the Gurmukh sits down, he chants the Lord's Name. When the Gurmukh stands up, he chants the Lord's Name, Har, Har.
ਤੁਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹ ਤੂ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥੨॥

सेवक जन सेवहि ते परवाणु जिन सेविआ गुरमति हरे ॥
Those humble servants who serve are accepted. They serve the Lord, and follow the Guru's Teachings.
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰੇ ॥
Thin Kae Kott Sabh Paap Khin Parehar Har Dhoor Karae ||
तिन के कोटि सभि पाप खिनु परहरि हरि दूरि करे ॥
All their millions of sins are taken away in an instant; the Lord takes them far away.
ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਇਕੁ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ॥
Thin Kae Paap Dhokh Sabh Binasae Jin Man Chith Eik Araadhhiaa ||
तिन के पाप दोख सभि बिनसे जिन मनि चिति इकु अराधिआ ॥
All their sin and blame is washed away. They worship and adore the One Lord with their conscious minds.
