ਇਕਿ ਭੂਖੇ ਇਕਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਸਭਸੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੩॥
Eik Bhookhae Eik Thripath Aghaaeae Sabhasai Thaeraa Paaranaa ||3||
इकि भूखे इकि त्रिपति अघाए सभसै तेरा पारणा ॥३॥
Some are hungry and some are satisfied and satiated, but all lean on Your Support. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥
Aapae Sath Sath Sath Saachaa ||
आपे सति सति सति साचा ॥
The True Lord Himself is True, True, True.
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਾ ॥
Outh Poth Bhagathan Sang Raachaa ||
ओति पोति भगतन संगि राचा ॥
He is woven into the essence of His devotees, through and through.
ਆਪੇ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੪॥
Aapae Gupath Aapae Hai Paragatt Apanaa Aap Pasaaranaa ||4||
आपे गुपतु आपे है परगटु अपणा आपु पसारणा ॥४॥
He Himself is hidden, and He Himself is revealed. He Himself spreads Himself out. ||4||
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Sadh Hovanehaaraa ||
सदा सदा सद होवणहारा ॥
Forever, forever and ever, He shall always exist.
ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Oochaa Agam Athhaahu Apaaraa ||
ऊचा अगमु अथाहु अपारा ॥
He is lofty, inaccessible, unfathomable and infinite.
ਊਣੇ ਭਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਭਰਿ ਊਣੇ ਏਹਿ ਚਲਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਣਾ ॥੫॥
Oonae Bharae Bharae Bhar Oonae Eaehi Chalath Suaamee Kae Kaaranaa ||5||
ऊणे भरे भरे भरि ऊणे एहि चलत सुआमी के कारणा ॥५॥
He fills the empty, and empties out the filled; such are the plays and dramas of my Lord and Master. ||5||
ਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹਾ ॥
Mukh Saalaahee Sachae Saahaa ||
मुखि सालाही सचे साहा ॥
With my mouth, I praise my True Lord King.
ਨੈਣੀ ਪੇਖਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
Nainee Paekhaa Agam Athhaahaa ||
नैणी पेखा अगम अथाहा ॥
With my eyes, I behold the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord.
ਕਰਨੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੬॥
Karanee Sun Sun Man Than Hariaa Maerae Saahib Sagal Oudhhaaranaa ||6||
करनी सुणि सुणि मनु तनु हरिआ मेरे साहिब सगल उधारणा ॥६॥
Listening, listening with my ears, my mind and body are rejuvenated; my Lord and Master saves all. ||6||
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਪਣਾ ॥
Kar Kar Vaekhehi Keethaa Apanaa ||
करि करि वेखहि कीता अपणा ॥
He created the creation, and gazes upon what He has created.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਪਣਾ ॥
Jeea Janth Soee Hai Japanaa ||
जीअ जंत सोई है जपणा ॥
All beings and creatures meditate on Him.
ਅਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਣਾ ॥੭॥
Apanee Kudharath Aapae Jaanai Nadharee Nadhar Nihaalanaa ||7||
अपणी कुदरति आपे जाणै नदरी नदरि निहालणा ॥७॥
He Himself knows His creative power; He blesses with His Glance of Grace. ||7||
ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਜਹ ਬੈਸਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸੇ ॥
Santh Sabhaa Jeh Baisehi Prabh Paasae ||
संत सभा जह बैसहि प्रभ पासे ॥
Where the Saints gather together and sit, God dwells close at hand.
ਅਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਚਲਤ ਤਮਾਸੇ ॥
Anandh Mangal Har Chalath Thamaasae ||
अनंद मंगल हरि चलत तमासे ॥
They abide in bliss and joy, beholding the Lord's wondrous play.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਤਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਣਾ ॥੮॥
Gun Gaavehi Anehadh Dhhun Baanee Theh Naanak Dhaas Chithaaranaa ||8||
गुण गावहि अनहद धुनि बाणी तह नानक दासु चितारणा ॥८॥
They sing the Glories of the Lord, and the unstruck sound current of His Bani; O Nanak, His slaves remain conscious of Him. ||8||
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਸਭੁ ਚਲਤੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥
Aavan Jaanaa Sabh Chalath Thumaaraa ||
आवणु जाणा सभु चलतु तुमारा ॥
Coming and going is all Your wondrous play.
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਖੇਲੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
Kar Kar Dhaekhai Khael Apaaraa ||
करि करि देखै खेलु अपारा ॥
Creating the Creation, You gaze upon Your infinite play.
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਪਾਲਣਾ ॥੯॥
Aap Oupaaeae Oupaavanehaaraa Apanaa Keeaa Paalanaa ||9||
आपि उपाए उपावणहारा अपणा कीआ पालणा ॥९॥
Creating the Creation, You Yourself cherish and nurture it. ||9||
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
Sun Sun Jeevaa Soe Thumaaree ||
सुणि सुणि जीवा सोइ तुमारी ॥
Listening, listening to Your Glory, I live.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
Sadhaa Sadhaa Jaaee Balihaaree ||
सदा सदा जाई बलिहारी ॥
Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to You.
ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੦॥
Dhue Kar Jorr Simaro Dhin Raathee Maerae Suaamee Agam Apaaranaa ||10||
दुइ कर जोड़ि सिमरउ दिनु राती मेरे सुआमी अगम अपारणा ॥१०॥
With my palms pressed together, I meditate in remembrance on You, day and night, O my inaccessible, infinite Lord and Master. ||10||
ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥
Thudhh Bin Dhoojae Kis Saalaahee ||
तुधु बिनु दूजे किसु सालाही ॥
Other than You, who else should I praise?
ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਜਪੀ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
Eaeko Eaek Japee Man Maahee ||
एको एकु जपी मन माही ॥
I meditate on the One and Only Lord within my mind.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਘਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੧॥
Hukam Boojh Jan Bheae Nihaalaa Eih Bhagathaa Kee Ghaalanaa ||11||
हुकमु बूझि जन भए निहाला इह भगता की घालणा ॥११॥
Realizing the Hukam of Your Will, Your humble servants are enraptured; this is the achievement of Your devotees. ||11||
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥
Gur Oupadhaes Japeeai Man Saachaa ||
गुर उपदेसि जपीऐ मनि साचा ॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, I meditate on the True Lord within my mind.
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਾ ॥
Gur Oupadhaes Raam Rang Raachaa ||
गुर उपदेसि राम रंगि राचा ॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, I am immersed in the Lord's Love.
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਤੁਟਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਰਜਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੨॥
Gur Oupadhaes Thuttehi Sabh Bandhhan Eihu Bharam Mohu Parajaalanaa ||12||
गुर उपदेसि तुटहि सभि बंधन इहु भरमु मोहु परजालणा ॥१२॥
Following the Guru's Teachings, all bonds are broken, and this doubt and emotional attachment are burnt away. ||12||
ਜਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ॥
Jeh Raakhai Soee Sukh Thhaanaa ||
जह राखै सोई सुख थाना ॥
Wherever He keeps me, is my place of rest.
ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
Sehajae Hoe Soee Bhal Maanaa ||
सहजे होइ सोई भल माना ॥
Whatever naturally happens, I accept that as good.
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਬੈਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਹੈ ਭਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੩॥
Binasae Bair Naahee Ko Bairee Sabh Eaeko Hai Bhaalanaa ||13||
बिनसे बैर नाही को बैरी सभु एको है भालणा ॥१३॥
Hatred is gone - I have no hatred at all; I see the One Lord in all. ||13||
ਡਰ ਚੂਕੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੇ ॥
Ddar Chookae Binasae Andhhiaarae ||
डर चूके बिनसे अंधिआरे ॥
Fear has been removed, and darkness has been dispelled.
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥
Pragatt Bheae Prabh Purakh Niraarae ||
प्रगट भए प्रभ पुरख निरारे ॥
The all-powerful, primal, detached Lord God has been revealed.
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਪਏ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਘਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੪॥
Aap Shhodd Peae Saranaaee Jis Kaa Saa This Ghaalanaa ||14||
आपु छोडि पए सरणाई जिस का सा तिसु घालणा ॥१४॥
Forsaking self-conceit, I have entered His Sanctuary, and I work for Him. ||14||
ਐਸਾ ਕੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
Aisaa Ko Vaddabhaagee Aaeiaa ||
ऐसा को वडभागी आइआ ॥
Rare are those few, very blessed people, who come into the world,
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਿਨਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
Aath Pehar Jin Khasam Dhhiaaeiaa ||
आठ पहर जिनि खसमु धिआइआ ॥
And meditate on their Lord and Master, twenty-four hours a day.
ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੫॥
This Jan Kai Sang Tharai Sabh Koee So Paravaar Sadhhaaranaa ||15||
तिसु जन कै संगि तरै सभु कोई सो परवार सधारणा ॥१५॥
Associating with such humble people, all are saved, and their families are saved as well. ||15||
ਇਹ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਖਸਮ ਤੇ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
Eih Bakhasees Khasam Thae Paavaa ||
इह बखसीस खसम ते पावा ॥
This is the blessing which I have received from my Lord and Master.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਧਿਆਵਾ ॥
Aath Pehar Kar Jorr Dhhiaavaa ||
आठ पहर कर जोड़ि धिआवा ॥
Twenty-four hours a day, with my palms pressed together, I meditate on Him.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੈ ਉਚਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੬॥
Naam Japee Naam Sehaj Samaavaa Naam Naanak Milai Ouchaaranaa ||16||1||6||
नामु जपी नामि सहजि समावा नामु नानक मिलै उचारणा ॥१६॥१॥६॥
I chant the Naam, and through the Naam, I intuitively merge into the Lord; O Nanak, may I be blessed with the Naam, and ever repeat it. ||16||1||6||

मारू महला ५ ॥
Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੂਰਤਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਨ ਭੂਲੁ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥
Soorath Dhaekh N Bhool Gavaaraa ||
सूरति देखि न भूलु गवारा ॥
Do not be fooled by appearances, you fool.
ਮਿਥਨ ਮੋਹਾਰਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
Mithhan Mohaaraa Jhooth Pasaaraa ||
मिथन मोहारा झूठु पसारा ॥
This is a false attachment to the expanse of an illusion.
ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਈ ਰਹਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਾ ॥੧॥
Jag Mehi Koee Rehan N Paaeae Nihachal Eaek Naaraaeinaa ||1||
जग महि कोई रहणु न पाए निहचलु एकु नाराइणा ॥१॥
No one can remain in this world; only the One Lord is permanent and unchanging. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
Gur Poorae Kee Po Saranaaee ||
गुर पूरे की पउ सरणाई ॥
Seek the Sanctuary of the Perfect Guru.
ਮੋਹੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥
Mohu Sog Sabh Bharam Mittaaee ||
मोहु सोगु सभु भरमु मिटाई ॥
He shall eradicate all emotional attachment, sorrow and doubt.
ਏਕੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਗਾਇਣਾ ॥੨॥
Eaeko Manthra Dhrirraaeae Aoukhadhh Sach Naam Ridh Gaaeinaa ||2||
एको मंत्रु द्रिड़ाए अउखधु सचु नामु रिद गाइणा ॥२॥
He shall administer the medicine, the Mantra of the One Name. Sing the True Name within your heart. ||2||
