काढि लीए प्रभ आन बिखै ते साधसंगि मनु लावहु ॥
Please lift me up, God, out of vice and corruption, and attach my mind to the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

Bhram Bho Mohu Kattiou Gur Bachanee Apanaa Dharas Dhikhaavahu ||1||
भ्रमु भउ मोहु कटिओ गुर बचनी अपना दरसु दिखावहु ॥१॥
Doubt, fear and attachment are eradicated from that person who follows the Guru's Teachings, and gazes on the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||1||
ਸਭ ਕੀ ਰੇਨ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਤਜਾਵਹੁ ॥
Sabh Kee Raen Hoe Man Maeraa Ahanbudhh Thajaavahu ||
सभ की रेन होइ मनु मेरा अह्मबुधि तजावहु ॥
Let my mind become the dust of all; may I abandon my egotistical intellect.

Without the Lord, life is useless.

Thaj Gopaal Aan Rang Raachath Mithhiaa Pehirath Khaath || Rehaao ||
तजि गोपाल आन रंगि राचत मिथिआ पहिरत खात ॥ रहाउ ॥
Those who forsake the Lord, and become engrossed in other pleasures - false and useless are the clothes they wear, and the food they eat. ||Pause||
ਧਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਸੰਪੈ ਸੁਖ ਭਗਵੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਮਾਤ ॥
Dhhan Joban Sanpai Sukh Bhuogavai Sang N Nibehath Maath ||
धनु जोबनु स्मपै सुख भोगवै संगि न निबहत मात ॥
The pleasures of wealth, youth, property and comforts will not stay with you, O mother.
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਬਾਵਰ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਛਾਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤ ॥੧॥
Mrig Thrisanaa Dhaekh Rachiou Baavar Dhraam Shhaaeiaa Rang Raath ||1||
म्रिग त्रिसना देखि रचिओ बावर द्रुम छाइआ रंगि रात ॥१॥
Seeing the mirage, the madman is entangled in it; he is imbued with pleasures that pass away, like the shade of a tree. ||1||
ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਮਹਾ ਮਦ ਮੋਹਤ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਖਾਤ ॥
Maan Moh Mehaa Madh Mohath Kaam Krodhh Kai Khaath ||
मान मोह महा मद मोहत काम क्रोध कै खात ॥
Totally intoxicated with the wine of pride and attachment, he has fallen into the pit of sexual desire and anger.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਤ ॥੨॥੫॥੭॥
Kar Gehi Laehu Dhaas Naanak Ko Prabh Jeeo Hoe Sehaath ||2||5||7||
करु गहि लेहु दास नानक कउ प्रभ जीउ होइ सहात ॥२॥५॥७॥
O Dear God, please be the Help and Support of servant Nanak; please take me by the hand, and uplift me. ||2||5||7||

Nothing goes along with the mortal, except for the Lord.
ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਕਰੁਣਾਪਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਨਾਥਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਥ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Dheenaa Naathh Karunaapath Suaamee Anaathhaa Kae Naathh || Rehaao ||
दीना नाथ करुणापति सुआमी अनाथा के नाथ ॥ रहाउ ॥
He is the Master of the meek, the Lord of Mercy, my Lord and Master, the Master of the masterless. ||Pause||
ਸੁਤ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਰਸ ਭਗਵਤ ਨਹ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਪਾਥ ॥
Suth Sanpath Bikhiaa Ras Bhuogavath Neh Nibehath Jam Kai Paathh ||
सुत स्मपति बिखिआ रस भोगवत नह निबहत जम कै पाथ ॥
Children, possessions and the enjoyment of corrupt pleasures do not go along with the mortal on the path of Death.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਗਾਉ ਗੁਨ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਉਧਰੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਕੇ ਖਾਤ ॥੧॥
Naam Nidhhaan Gaao Gun Gobindh Oudhhar Saagar Kae Khaath ||1||
नामु निधानु गाउ गुन गोबिंद उधरु सागर के खात ॥१॥
Singing the Glorious Praises of the treasure of the Naam, and the Lord of the Universe, the mortal is carried across the deep ocean. ||1||
ਸਰਨਿ ਸਮਰਥ ਅਕਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥ ॥
Saran Samarathh Akathh Agochar Har Simarath Dhukh Laathh ||
सरनि समरथ अकथ अगोचर हरि सिमरत दुख लाथ ॥
In the Sanctuary of the All-powerful, Indescribable, Unfathomable Lord, meditate in remembrance on Him, and your pains shall vanish.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਧੂਰਿ ਜਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਮਿਲੈ ਲਿਖਤ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਾਥ ॥੨॥੬॥੮॥
Naanak Dheen Dhhoor Jan Baanshhath Milai Likhath Dhhur Maathh ||2||6||8||
नानक दीन धूरि जन बांछत मिलै लिखत धुरि माथ ॥२॥६॥८॥
Nanak longs for the dust of the feet of the Lord's humble servant; he shall obtain it only if such pre-ordained destiny is written on his forehead. ||2||6||8||

I do not forget the Lord in my mind.

Ab Eih Preeth Mehaa Prabal Bhee Aan Bikhai Jaree || Rehaao ||
अब इह प्रीति महा प्रबल भई आन बिखै जरी ॥ रहाउ ॥
This love has now become very strong; it has burnt away other corruption. ||Pause||
ਬੂੰਦ ਕਹਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਮੀਨ ਰਹਤ ਨ ਘਰੀ ॥
Boondh Kehaa Thiaag Chaathrik Meen Rehath N Gharee ||
बूंद कहा तिआगि चात्रिक मीन रहत न घरी ॥
How can the rainbird forsake the rain-drop? The fish cannot survive without water, even for an instant.
