Lagee Laag Santh Sangaaraa ||
लगी लागि संत संगारा ॥
In the Society of the Saints, the dye is produced.
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ਬਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜੀਠੈ ਰੰਗਨਾ ॥੧੫॥
Niramal Soe Banee Har Baanee Man Naam Majeethai Ranganaa ||15||
निरमल सोइ बणी हरि बाणी मनु नामि मजीठै रंगना ॥१५॥
Through the Word of the Lord's Bani, one's reputation becomes immaculate, and the mind is colored by the dye of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||15||

तुमहि पठाए ता जग महि आए ॥
When You sent me, I came into the world.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
Jo Thudhh Bhaanaa Sae Karam Kamaaeae ||
जो तुधु भाणा से करम कमाए ॥
Whatever is pleasing to Your Will, I do.
ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਆ ਤਾ ਭੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਾੜਾ ॥੨॥
Thujh Thae Baahar Kishhoo N Hoaa Thaa Bhee Naahee Kishh Kaarraa ||2||
तुझ ते बाहरि किछू न होआ ता भी नाही किछु काड़ा ॥२॥
Without You, nothing is done, so I am not anxious at all. ||2||
ਊਹਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥

ऊहा हुकमु तुमारा सुणीऐ ॥
In the world hereafter, the Hukam of Your Command is heard.
ਈਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਣੀਐ ॥

ईहा हरि जसु तेरा भणीऐ ॥
In this world, I chant Your Praises, Lord.
ਆਪੇ ਲੇਖ ਅਲੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਮ ਸਿਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਝਾੜਾ ॥੩॥
Aapae Laekh Alaekhai Aapae Thum Sio Naahee Kishh Jhaarraa ||3||
आपे लेख अलेखै आपे तुम सिउ नाही किछु झाड़ा ॥३॥
You Yourself write the account, and You Yourself erase it; no one can argue with You. ||3||
ਤੂ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਥਾਰੇ ॥
Thoo Pithaa Sabh Baarik Thhaarae ||
तू पिता सभि बारिक थारे ॥
You are our father; we are all Your children.
ਜਿਉ ਖੇਲਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਖੇਲਣਹਾਰੇ ॥
Jio Khaelaavehi Thio Khaelanehaarae ||
जिउ खेलावहि तिउ खेलणहारे ॥
We play as You cause us to play.
ਉਝੜ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਕੀਨਾ ਚਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਵੇਪਾੜਾ ॥੪॥
Oujharr Maarag Sabh Thum Hee Keenaa Chalai Naahee Ko Vaepaarraa ||4||
उझड़ मारगु सभु तुम ही कीना चलै नाही को वेपाड़ा ॥४॥
The wilderness and the path are all made by You. No one can take the wrong path. ||4||
ਇਕਿ ਬੈਸਾਇ ਰਖੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅੰਤਰਿ ॥

इकि बैसाइ रखे ग्रिह अंतरि ॥
Some remain seated within their homes.
ਇਕਿ ਪਠਾਏ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਸੰਤਰਿ ॥
Eik Pathaaeae Dhaes Dhisanthar ||
इकि पठाए देस दिसंतरि ॥
Some wander across the country and through foreign lands.
ਇਕ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਘਾਸੁ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਕਉ ਰਾਜਾ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਕੂੜਾ ॥੫॥
Eik Hee Ko Ghaas Eik Hee Ko Raajaa Ein Mehi Keheeai Kiaa Koorraa ||5||
इक ही कउ घासु इक ही कउ राजा इन महि कहीऐ किआ कूड़ा ॥५॥
Some are grass-cutters, and some are kings. Who among these can be called false? ||5||
ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਨਰਕਾ ॥
Kavan S Mukathee Kavan S Narakaa ||
कवन सु मुकती कवन सु नरका ॥
Who is liberated, and who will land in hell?
ਕਵਨੁ ਸੈਸਾਰੀ ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਭਗਤਾ ॥
Kavan Saisaaree Kavan S Bhagathaa ||
कवनु सैसारी कवनु सु भगता ॥
Who is worldly, and who is a devotee?
ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਦਾਨਾ ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਹੋਛਾ ਕਵਨ ਸੁ ਸੁਰਤਾ ਕਵਨੁ ਜੜਾ ॥੬॥
Kavan S Dhaanaa Kavan S Hoshhaa Kavan S Surathaa Kavan Jarraa ||6||
कवन सु दाना कवनु सु होछा कवन सु सुरता कवनु जड़ा ॥६॥
Who is wise, and who is shallow? Who is aware, and who is ignorant? ||6||
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਨਰਕਾ ॥
Hukamae Mukathee Hukamae Narakaa ||
हुकमे मुकती हुकमे नरका ॥
By the Hukam of the Lord's Command, one is liberated, and by His Hukam, one falls into hell.
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸੈਸਾਰੀ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਭਗਤਾ ॥
Hukam Saisaaree Hukamae Bhagathaa ||
हुकमि सैसारी हुकमे भगता ॥
By His Hukam, one is worldly, and by His Hukam, one is a devotee.
ਹੁਕਮੇ ਹੋਛਾ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਦਾਨਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਵਰੁ ਧੜਾ ॥੭॥
Hukamae Hoshhaa Hukamae Dhaanaa Dhoojaa Naahee Avar Dhharraa ||7||
हुकमे होछा हुकमे दाना दूजा नाही अवरु धड़ा ॥७॥
By His Hukam, one is shallow, and by His Hukam, one is wise. There is no other side except His. ||7||
ਸਾਗਰੁ ਕੀਨਾ ਅਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਭਾਰਾ ॥
Saagar Keenaa Ath Thum Bhaaraa ||
सागरु कीना अति तुम भारा ॥
You made the ocean vast and huge.
ਇਕਿ ਖੜੇ ਰਸਾਤਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਗਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
Eik Kharrae Rasaathal Kar Manamukh Gaavaaraa ||
इकि खड़े रसातलि करि मनमुख गावारा ॥
You made some into foolish self-willed manmukhs, and dragged them into hell.
ਇਕਨਾ ਪਾਰਿ ਲੰਘਾਵਹਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨ ਕਾ ਸਚੁ ਬੇੜਾ ॥੮॥
Eikanaa Paar Langhaavehi Aapae Sathigur Jin Kaa Sach Baerraa ||8||
इकना पारि लंघावहि आपे सतिगुरु जिन का सचु बेड़ा ॥८॥
Some are carried across, in the ship of Truth of the True Guru. ||8||
ਕਉਤਕੁ ਕਾਲੁ ਇਹੁ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਪਠਾਇਆ ॥
Kouthak Kaal Eihu Hukam Pathaaeiaa ||
कउतकु कालु इहु हुकमि पठाइआ ॥
You issue Your Command for this amazing thing, death.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਓਪਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
Jeea Janth Oupaae Samaaeiaa ||
जीअ जंत ओपाइ समाइआ ॥
You create all beings and creatures, and absorb them back into Yourself.
ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਸਭਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣੇ ਰਚਨੁ ਕੀਨਾ ਇਕੁ ਆਖਾੜਾ ॥੯॥
Vaekhai Vigasai Sabh Rang Maanae Rachan Keenaa Eik Aakhaarraa ||9||
वेखै विगसै सभि रंग माणे रचनु कीना इकु आखाड़ा ॥९॥
You gaze in delight upon the one arena of the world, and enjoy all the pleasures. ||9||
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਵਡੀ ਨਾਈ ॥
Vaddaa Saahib Vaddee Naaee ||
वडा साहिबु वडी नाई ॥
Great is the Lord and Master, and Great is His Name.
ਵਡ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਵਡੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਜਾਈ ॥
Vadd Dhaathaar Vaddee Jis Jaaee ||
वड दातारु वडी जिसु जाई ॥
He is the Great Giver; Great is His place.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਤੋਲਾ ਹੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਹਾੜਾ ॥੧੦॥
Agam Agochar Baeanth Atholaa Hai Naahee Kishh Aahaarraa ||10||
अगम अगोचरु बेअंत अतोला है नाही किछु आहाड़ा ॥१०॥
He is inaccessible and unfathomable, infinite and unweighable. He cannot be measureed. ||10||
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
Keemath Koe N Jaanai Dhoojaa ||
कीमति कोइ न जाणै दूजा ॥
No one else knows His value.
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
Aapae Aap Niranjan Poojaa ||
आपे आपि निरंजन पूजा ॥
Only You Yourself, O Immaculate Lord, are equal to Yourself.
ਆਪਿ ਸੁ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਸਤਵੰਤਾ ਅਤਿ ਗਾੜਾ ॥੧੧॥
Aap S Giaanee Aap Dhhiaanee Aap Sathavanthaa Ath Gaarraa ||11||
आपि सु गिआनी आपि धिआनी आपि सतवंता अति गाड़ा ॥११॥
You Yourself are the spiritual teacher, You Yourself are the One who meditates. You Yourself are the great and immense Being of Truth. ||11||
ਕੇਤੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥
Kaetharriaa Dhin Gupath Kehaaeiaa ||
केतड़िआ दिन गुपतु कहाइआ ॥
For so many days, You remained invisible.
ਕੇਤੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
Kaetharriaa Dhin Sunn Samaaeiaa ||
केतड़िआ दिन सुंनि समाइआ ॥
For so many days, You were absorbed in silent absorption.
ਕੇਤੜਿਆ ਦਿਨ ਧੁੰਧੂਕਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਪਰਗਟੜਾ ॥੧੨॥
Kaetharriaa Dhin Dhhundhhookaaraa Aapae Karathaa Paragattarraa ||12||
केतड़िआ दिन धुंधूकारा आपे करता परगटड़ा ॥१२॥
For so many days, there was only pitch darkness, and then the Creator revealed Himself. ||12||
ਆਪੇ ਸਕਤੀ ਸਬਲੁ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥
Aapae Sakathee Sabal Kehaaeiaa ||
आपे सकती सबलु कहाइआ ॥
You Yourself are called the God of Supreme Power.
