Aap Tharai Sagalae Kul Thaarae Har Dharageh Path Sio Jaaeidhaa ||6||
आपि तरै सगले कुल तारे हरि दरगह पति सिउ जाइदा ॥६॥
You shall save yourself, and save all your generations as well. You shall go to the Court of the Lord with honor. ||6||
ਖੰਡ ਪਤਾਲ ਦੀਪ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਆ ॥
Khandd Pathaal Dheep Sabh Loaa ||
खंड पताल दीप सभि लोआ ॥
All the continents, nether worlds, islands and worlds
ਸਭਿ ਕਾਲੈ ਵਸਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਆ ॥
Sabh Kaalai Vas Aap Prabh Keeaa ||
सभि कालै वसि आपि प्रभि कीआ ॥
God Himself has made them all subject to death.
ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਏਕੁ ਆਪਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਜੋ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
Nihachal Eaek Aap Abinaasee So Nihachal Jo Thisehi Dhhiaaeidhaa ||7||
निहचलु एकु आपि अबिनासी सो निहचलु जो तिसहि धिआइदा ॥७॥
The One Imperishable Lord Himself is unmoving and unchanging. Meditating on Him, one becomes unchanging. ||7||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਹਾ ॥
Har Kaa Saevak So Har Jaehaa ||
हरि का सेवकु सो हरि जेहा ॥
The Lord's servant becomes like the Lord.
ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੁ ਮਾਣਸ ਦੇਹਾ ॥
Bhaedh N Jaanahu Maanas Dhaehaa ||
भेदु न जाणहु माणस देहा ॥
Do not think that, because of his human body, he is different.
ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗ ਉਠਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸਲਲੈ ਸਲਲ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
Jio Jal Tharang Outhehi Bahu Bhaathee Fir Salalai Salal Samaaeidhaa ||8||
जिउ जल तरंग उठहि बहु भाती फिरि सललै सलल समाइदा ॥८॥
The waves of the water rise up in various ways, and then the water merges again in water. ||8||
ਇਕੁ ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੁਆਰੈ ॥
Eik Jaachik Mangai Dhaan Dhuaarai ||
इकु जाचिकु मंगै दानु दुआरै ॥
A beggar begs for charity at His Door.
ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
Jaa Prabh Bhaavai Thaa Kirapaa Dhhaarai ||
जा प्रभ भावै ता किरपा धारै ॥
When God pleases, He takes pity on him.
ਦੇਹੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨਿ ਮਨੁ ਠਹਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
Dhaehu Dharas Jith Man Thripathaasai Har Keerathan Man Theharaaeidhaa ||9||
देहु दरसु जितु मनु त्रिपतासै हरि कीरतनि मनु ठहराइदा ॥९॥
Please bless me with the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan, to satisfy my mind, O Lord. Through the Kirtan of Your Praises, my mind is held steady. ||9||
ਰੂੜੋ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਿਤੈ ਵਸਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥

रूड़ो ठाकुरु कितै वसि न आवै ॥
The Beauteous Lord and Master is not controlled in any way.
ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਸੰਤਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
Har So Kishh Karae J Har Kiaa Santhaa Bhaavai ||
हरि सो किछु करे जि हरि किआ संता भावै ॥
The Lord does that which pleases the Saints of the Lord.
ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਨਿ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਾਇਨਿ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
Keethaa Lorran Soee Karaaein Dhar Faer N Koee Paaeidhaa ||10||
कीता लोड़नि सोई कराइनि दरि फेरु न कोई पाइदा ॥१०॥
He does whatever they wish to be done; nothing blocks their way at His Door. ||10||
ਜਿਥੈ ਅਉਘਟੁ ਆਇ ਬਨਤੁ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
Jithhai Aoughatt Aae Banath Hai Praanee ||
जिथै अउघटु आइ बनतु है प्राणी ॥
Wherever the mortal is confronted with difficulty,
ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣੀ ॥
Thithhai Har Dhhiaaeeai Saaringapaanee ||
तिथै हरि धिआईऐ सारिंगपाणी ॥
There he should meditate on the Lord of the Universe.
ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਨ ਬੇਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
Jithhai Puthra Kalathra N Baelee Koee Thithhai Har Aap Shhaddaaeidhaa ||11||
जिथै पुत्रु कलत्रु न बेली कोई तिथै हरि आपि छडाइदा ॥११॥
Where there are no children, spouse or friends, there the Lord Himself comes to the rescue. ||11||
ਵਡਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥
Vaddaa Saahib Agam Athhaahaa ||
वडा साहिबु अगम अथाहा ॥
The Great Lord and Master is inaccessible and unfathomable.
ਕਿਉ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹਾ ॥
Kio Mileeai Prabh Vaeparavaahaa ||
किउ मिलीऐ प्रभ वेपरवाहा ॥
How can anyone meet with God, the self-suficient One?
ਕਾਟਿ ਸਿਲਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਏ ਸੋ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
Kaatt Silak Jis Maarag Paaeae So Vich Sangath Vaasaa Paaeidhaa ||12||
काटि सिलक जिसु मारगि पाए सो विचि संगति वासा पाइदा ॥१२॥
Those who have had the noose cut away from around their necks, whom God has set back upon the Path, obtain a place in the Sangat, the Congregation. ||12||
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਹੀਐ ॥
Hukam Boojhai So Saevak Keheeai ||
हुकमु बूझै सो सेवकु कहीऐ ॥
One who realizes the Hukam of the Lord's Command is said to be His servant.
ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਦੁਇ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਸਹੀਐ ॥
Buraa Bhalaa Dhue Samasar Seheeai ||
बुरा भला दुइ समसरि सहीऐ ॥
He endures both bad and good equally.
ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਤ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
Houmai Jaae Th Eaeko Boojhai So Guramukh Sehaj Samaaeidhaa ||13||
हउमै जाइ त एको बूझै सो गुरमुखि सहजि समाइदा ॥१३॥
When egotism is silenced, then one comes to know the One Lord. Such a Gurmukh intuitively merges in the Lord. ||13||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਭਗਤ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਵਾਸੀ ॥
Har Kae Bhagath Sadhaa Sukhavaasee ||
हरि के भगत सदा सुखवासी ॥
The devotees of the Lord dwell forever in peace.
ਬਾਲ ਸੁਭਾਇ ਅਤੀਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
Baal Subhaae Atheeth Oudhaasee ||
बाल सुभाइ अतीत उदासी ॥
With a child-like, innocent nature, they remain detached, turning away from the world.
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੰਗ ਕਰਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤੀ ਜਿਉ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੂਤੁ ਲਾਡਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
Anik Rang Karehi Bahu Bhaathee Jio Pithaa Pooth Laaddaaeidhaa ||14||
अनिक रंग करहि बहु भाती जिउ पिता पूतु लाडाइदा ॥१४॥
They enjoy various pleasures in many ways; God caresses them, like a father caressing his son. ||14||
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥
Agam Agochar Keemath Nehee Paaee ||
अगम अगोचरु कीमति नही पाई ॥
He is inaccessible and unfathomable; His value cannot be estimated.
ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥
Thaa Mileeai Jaa Leae Milaaee ||
ता मिलीऐ जा लए मिलाई ॥
We meet Him, only when He causes us to meet.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਭਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਜਿਨ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਲਿਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
Guramukh Pragatt Bhaeiaa Thin Jan Ko Jin Dhhur Masathak Laekh Likhaaeidhaa ||15||
गुरमुखि प्रगटु भइआ तिन जन कउ जिन धुरि मसतकि लेखु लिखाइदा ॥१५॥
The Lord is revealed to those humble Gurmukhs, who have such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon their foreheads. ||15||
ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
Thoo Aapae Karathaa Kaaran Karanaa ||
तू आपे करता कारण करणा ॥
You Yourself are the Creator Lord, the Cause of causes.
ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਧਰੀ ਸਭ ਧਰਣਾ ॥
Srisatt Oupaae Dhharee Sabh Dhharanaa ||
स्रिसटि उपाइ धरी सभ धरणा ॥
You created the Universe, and You support the whole earth.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਲਾਜ ਰਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੫॥
Jan Naanak Saran Paeiaa Har Dhuaarai Har Bhaavai Laaj Rakhaaeidhaa ||16||1||5||
जन नानकु सरणि पइआ हरि दुआरै हरि भावै लाज रखाइदा ॥१६॥१॥५॥
Servant Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of Your Door, O Lord; if it is Your Will, please preserve his honor. ||16||1||5||

आपि चितारे अपणा कीआ ॥
You Yourself are conscious of Your Creation.
ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਥੀਆ ॥
Aapae Aap Aap Prabh Thheeaa ||
आपे आपि आपि प्रभु थीआ ॥
You Yourself established Yourself, O God.
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੨॥
Aap Oupaae Rachioun Pasaaraa Aapae Ghatt Ghatt Saaranaa ||2||
आपि उपाइ रचिओनु पसारा आपे घटि घटि सारणा ॥२॥
Creating Yourself, You formed the expanse of the Universe; You Yourself cherish and sustain each and every heart. ||2||
ਇਕਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਵਡ ਦਰਵਾਰੀ ॥
Eik Oupaaeae Vadd Dharavaaree ||
इकि उपाए वड दरवारी ॥
You created some to hold great and royal courts.
ਇਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥
Eik Oudhaasee Eik Ghar Baaree ||
इकि उदासी इकि घर बारी ॥
Some turn away from the world in renunciation, and some maintain their households.
