He has blessed me with the capital, the wealth of spiritual wisdom; He has made me worthy of this merchandise.

साझी गुर नालि बहालिआ सरब सुख पाइक ॥
He has made me a partner with the Guru; I have obtained all peace and comforts.

नानक कचड़िआ सिउ तोड़ि ढूढि सजण संत पकिआ ॥
O Nanak, break away from the false, and seek out the Saints, your true friends.
ਓਇ ਜੀਵੰਦੇ ਵਿਛੁੜਹਿ ਓਇ ਮੁਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਛੋੜਿ ॥੧॥

ओइ जीवंदे विछुड़हि ओइ मुइआ न जाही छोड़ि ॥१॥
The false shall leave you, even while you are still alive; but the Saints shall not forsake you, even when you are dead. ||1||

Naanak Bijuleeaa Chamakann Ghuranih Ghattaa Ath Kaaleeaa ||
नानक बिजुलीआ चमकंनि घुरन्हि घटा अति कालीआ ॥
O Nanak, the lightning flashes, and thunder echoes in the dark black clouds.
ਬਰਸਨਿ ਮੇਘ ਅਪਾਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਗਮਿ ਪਿਰੀ ਸੁਹੰਦੀਆ ॥੨॥
Barasan Maegh Apaar Naanak Sangam Piree Suhandheeaa ||2||
बरसनि मेघ अपार नानक संगमि पिरी सुहंदीआ ॥२॥
The downpour from the clouds is heavy; O Nanak, the soul-brides are exalted and embellished with their Beloved. ||2||

जल थल नीरि भरे सीतल पवण झुलारदे ॥
The ponds and the lands are overflowing with water, and the cold wind is blowing.
ਸੇਜੜੀਆ ਸੋਇੰਨ ਹੀਰੇ ਲਾਲ ਜੜੰਦੀਆ ॥
Saejarreeaa Soeinn Heerae Laal Jarrandheeaa ||
सेजड़ीआ सोइंन हीरे लाल जड़ंदीआ ॥
Her bed is adorned with gold, diamonds and rubies;
ਸੁਭਰ ਕਪੜ ਭੋਗ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਰੀ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ਤਤੀਆ ॥੩॥
Subhar Kaparr Bhog Naanak Piree Vihoonee Thatheeaa ||3||
सुभर कपड़ भोग नानक पिरी विहूणी ततीआ ॥३॥
She is blessed with beautiful gowns and delicacies, O Nanak, but without her Beloved, she burns in agony. ||3||

कारणु करतै जो कीआ सोई है करणा ॥
He does the dees which the Creator causes him to do.
ਜੇ ਸਉ ਧਾਵਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਧੁਰਿ ਲਹਣਾ ॥
Jae So Dhhaavehi Praaneeaa Paavehi Dhhur Lehanaa ||
जे सउ धावहि प्राणीआ पावहि धुरि लहणा ॥
Even if you run in hundreds of directions, O mortal, you shall still receive what you are pre-destined to receive.
ਬਿਨੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਲਭਈ ਜੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਸਭ ਧਰਣਾ ॥
Bin Karamaa Kishhoo N Labhee Jae Firehi Sabh Dhharanaa ||
बिनु करमा किछू न लभई जे फिरहि सभ धरणा ॥
Without good karma, you shall obtain nothing, even if you wander across the whole world.
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਭਉ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਭੈ ਡਰੁ ਦੂਰਿ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
Gur Mil Bho Govindh Kaa Bhai Ddar Dhoor Karanaa ||
गुर मिलि भउ गोविंद का भै डरु दूरि करणा ॥
Meeting with the Guru, you shall know the Fear of God, and other fears shall be taken away.
ਭੈ ਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਖੋਜਤ ਫਿਰਣਾ ॥
Bhai Thae Bairaag Oopajai Har Khojath Firanaa ||
भै ते बैरागु ऊपजै हरि खोजत फिरणा ॥
Through the Fear of God, the attitude of detachment wells up, and one sets out in search of the Lord.
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਸਹਜੁ ਉਪਜਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰਣਾ ॥
Khojath Khojath Sehaj Oupajiaa Fir Janam N Maranaa ||
खोजत खोजत सहजु उपजिआ फिरि जनमि न मरणा ॥
Searching and searching, intuitive wisdom wells up, and then, one is not born to die again.
ਹਿਆਇ ਕਮਾਇ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧ ਸਰਣਾ ॥
Hiaae Kamaae Dhhiaaeiaa Paaeiaa Saadhh Saranaa ||
हिआइ कमाइ धिआइआ पाइआ साध सरणा ॥
Practicing meditation within my heart, I have found the Sanctuary of the Holy.

पहिला मरणु कबूलि जीवण की छडि आस ॥
First, accept death, and give up any hope of life.
ਹੋਹੁ ਸਭਨਾ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁਕਾ ਤਉ ਆਉ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੧॥

होहु सभना की रेणुका तउ आउ हमारै पासि ॥१॥
Become the dust of the feet of all, and then, you may come to me. ||1||

मुआ जीवंदा पेखु जीवंदे मरि जानि ॥
See, that only one who has died, truly lives; one who is alive, consider him dead.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਾ ਮੁਹਬਤਿ ਇਕ ਸਿਉ ਤੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਪਰਧਾਨ ॥੨॥

जिन्हा मुहबति इक सिउ ते माणस परधान ॥२॥

जिसु मनि वसै पारब्रहमु निकटि न आवै पीर ॥
Pain does not even approach that person, within whose mind God abides.
ਭੁਖ ਤਿਖ ਤਿਸੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪਈ ਜਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਆਵੈ ਨੀਰ ॥੩॥

भुख तिख तिसु न विआपई जमु नही आवै नीर ॥३॥
Hunger and thirst do not affect him, and the Messenger of Death does not approach him. ||3||

सिध साधिक गिआनी धिआनीआ कउणु तुधुनो तोलै ॥
The Siddhas, seekers, spiritual teachers and meditators - who among them can measure You?
ਭੰਨਣ ਘੜਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਓਪਤਿ ਸਭ ਪਰਲੈ ॥
Bhannan Gharran Samarathh Hai Oupath Sabh Paralai ||
भंनण घड़ण समरथु है ओपति सभ परलै ॥
You are all-powerful, to form and break; You create and destroy all.
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਭ ਬੋਲੈ ॥
Karan Kaaran Samarathh Hai Ghatt Ghatt Sabh Bolai ||
करण कारण समरथु है घटि घटि सभ बोलै ॥
You are all-powerful to act, and inspire all to act; You speak through each and every heart.
ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸਮਾਹੇ ਸਭਸੈ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਣਸੁ ਡੋਲੈ ॥
Rijak Samaahae Sabhasai Kiaa Maanas Ddolai ||
रिजकु समाहे सभसै किआ माणसु डोलै ॥
You give sustanance to all; why should mankind waver?
ਗਹਿਰ ਗਭੀਰੁ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਤੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਮੋਲੈ ॥
Gehir Gabheer Athhaahu Thoo Gun Giaan Amolai ||
गहिर गभीरु अथाहु तू गुण गिआन अमोलै ॥
You are deep, profound and unfathomable; Your virtuous spiritual wisdom is priceless.
ਸੋਈ ਕੰਮੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਉਲੈ ॥
Soee Kanm Kamaavanaa Keeaa Dhhur Moulai ||
सोई कमु कमावणा कीआ धुरि मउलै ॥
They do the deeds which they are pre-ordained to do.
