अंध कूप ते कंढै चाड़े ॥
You pulled me out of the deep, dark well onto the dry ground.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦਾਸ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Dhaas Nadhar Nihaalae ||
करि किरपा दास नदरि निहाले ॥
Showering Your Mercy, You blessed Your servant with Your Glance of Grace.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਕਹਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥
Gun Gaavehi Pooran Abinaasee Kehi Sun Thott N Aavaniaa ||4||
गुण गावहि पूरन अबिनासी कहि सुणि तोटि न आवणिआ ॥४॥
I sing the Glorious Praises of the Perfect, Immortal Lord. By speaking and hearing these Praises, they are not used up. ||4||
ਐਥੈ ਓਥੈ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
Aithhai Outhhai Thoonhai Rakhavaalaa ||
ऐथै ओथै तूंहै रखवाला ॥
Here and hereafter, You are our Protector.
ਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਪਾਲਾ ॥
Maath Garabh Mehi Thum Hee Paalaa ||
मात गरभ महि तुम ही पाला ॥
In the womb of the mother, You cherish and nurture the baby.
ਮਾਇਆ ਅਗਨਿ ਨ ਪੋਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥
Maaeiaa Agan N Pohai Thin Ko Rang Rathae Gun Gaavaniaa ||5||
माइआ अगनि न पोहै तिन कउ रंगि रते गुण गावणिआ ॥५॥
The fire of Maya does not affect those who are imbued with the Lord's Love; they sing His Glorious Praises. ||5||
ਕਿਆ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਖਿ ਸਮਾਲੀ ॥
Kiaa Gun Thaerae Aakh Samaalee ||
किआ गुण तेरे आखि समाली ॥
What Praises of Yours can I chant and contemplate?
ਮਨ ਤਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ॥
Man Than Anthar Thudhh Nadhar Nihaalee ||
मन तन अंतरि तुधु नदरि निहाली ॥
Deep within my mind and body, I behold Your Presence.
ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਣਿਆ ॥੬॥
Thoon Maeraa Meeth Saajan Maeraa Suaamee Thudhh Bin Avar N Jaananiaa ||6||
तूं मेरा मीतु साजनु मेरा सुआमी तुधु बिनु अवरु न जानणिआ ॥६॥
You are my Friend and Companion, my Lord and Master. Without You, I do not know any other at all. ||6||
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਇਆ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
Jis Ko Thoon Prabh Bhaeiaa Sehaaee ||
जिस कउ तूं प्रभ भइआ सहाई ॥
O God, that one, unto whom You have given shelter,
ਤਿਸੁ ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਕਾਈ ॥
This Thathee Vaao N Lagai Kaaee ||
तिसु तती वाउ न लगै काई ॥
Is not touched by the hot winds.
ਤੂ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥
Thoo Saahib Saran Sukhadhaathaa Sathasangath Jap Pragattaavaniaa ||7||
तू साहिबु सरणि सुखदाता सतसंगति जपि प्रगटावणिआ ॥७॥
O my Lord and Master, You are my Sanctuary, the Giver of peace. Chanting, meditating on You in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, You are revealed. ||7||
ਤੂੰ ਊਚ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਅਮੋਲਾ ॥
Thoon Ooch Athhaahu Apaar Amolaa ||
तूं ऊच अथाहु अपारु अमोला ॥
You are Exalted, Unfathomable, Infinite and Invaluable.
ਤੂੰ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਗੋਲਾ ॥
Thoon Saachaa Saahib Dhaas Thaeraa Golaa ||
तूं साचा साहिबु दासु तेरा गोला ॥
You are my True Lord and Master. I am Your servant and slave.
ਤੂੰ ਮੀਰਾ ਸਾਚੀ ਠਕੁਰਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੩॥੩੭॥
Thoon Meeraa Saachee Thakuraaee Naanak Bal Bal Jaavaniaa ||8||3||37||
तूं मीरा साची ठकुराई नानक बलि बलि जावणिआ ॥८॥३॥३७॥
You are the King, Your Sovereign Rule is True. Nanak is a sacrifice, a sacrifice to You. ||8||3||37||

Continually, continuously, remember the Merciful Lord.
ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

मूलि न मनहु विसारीऐ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Never forget Him from your mind. ||Pause||

संता संगति पाईऐ ॥
Join the Society of the Saints,
ਜਿਤੁ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਪੰਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
Jith Jam Kai Panthh N Jaaeeai ||
जितु जम कै पंथि न जाईऐ ॥
And you shall not have to go down the path of Death.
ਤੋਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਲੈ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੁਲਹਿ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਗਾਲਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
Thosaa Har Kaa Naam Lai Thaerae Kulehi N Laagai Gaal Jeeo ||1||
तोसा हरि का नामु लै तेरे कुलहि न लागै गालि जीउ ॥१॥
Take the Provisions of the Lord's Name with you, and no stain shall attach itself to your family. ||1||
ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੰਦੇ ਸਾਂਈਐ ॥
Jo Simarandhae Saaneeai ||
जो सिमरंदे सांईऐ ॥
Those who meditate on the Master
ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਸੇਈ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Narak N Saeee Paaeeai ||
नरकि न सेई पाईऐ ॥
Shall not be thrown down into hell.
ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਜਿਨ ਮਨਿ ਵੁਠਾ ਆਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
Thathee Vaao N Lagee Jin Man Vuthaa Aae Jeeo ||2||
तती वाउ न लगई जिन मनि वुठा आइ जीउ ॥२॥
Even the hot winds shall not touch them. The Lord has come to dwell within their minds. ||2||
ਸੇਈ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੋਹਣੇ ॥
Saeee Sundhar Sohanae ||
सेई सुंदर सोहणे ॥
They alone are beautiful and attractive,
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਜਿਨ ਬੈਹਣੇ ॥
Saadhhasang Jin Baihanae ||
साधसंगि जिन बैहणे ॥
Who abide in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਸੰਜਿਆ ਸੇਈ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
Har Dhhan Jinee Sanjiaa Saeee Ganbheer Apaar Jeeo ||3||
हरि धनु जिनी संजिआ सेई ग्मभीर अपार जीउ ॥३॥
Those who have gathered in the wealth of the Lord's Name-they alone are deep and thoughtful and vast. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਅਮਿਉ ਰਸਾਇਣੁ ਪੀਵੀਐ ॥
Har Amio Rasaaein Peeveeai ||
हरि अमिउ रसाइणु पीवीऐ ॥
Drink in the Ambrosial Essence of the Name,
ਮੁਹਿ ਡਿਠੈ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਜੀਵੀਐ ॥
Muhi Ddithai Jan Kai Jeeveeai ||
मुहि डिठै जन कै जीवीऐ ॥
And live by beholding the face of the Lord's servant.
ਕਾਰਜ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਲੈ ਨਿਤ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਵ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
Kaaraj Sabh Savaar Lai Nith Poojahu Gur Kae Paav Jeeo ||4||
कारज सभि सवारि लै नित पूजहु गुर के पाव जीउ ॥४॥
Let all your affairs be resolved, by continually worshipping the Feet of the Guru. ||4||
ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਆਪਣਾ ॥
Jo Har Keethaa Aapanaa ||
जो हरि कीता आपणा ॥
He alone meditates on the Lord of the World,
ਤਿਨਹਿ ਗੁਸਾਈ ਜਾਪਣਾ ॥
Thinehi Gusaaee Jaapanaa ||
तिनहि गुसाई जापणा ॥
Whom the Lord has made His Own.
ਸੋ ਸੂਰਾ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ਸੋ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਦੈ ਭਾਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥
So Sooraa Paradhhaan So Masathak Jis Dhai Bhaag Jeeo ||5||
सो सूरा परधानु सो मसतकि जिस दै भागु जीउ ॥५॥
He alone is a warrior, and he alone is the chosen one, upon whose forehead good destiny is recorded. ||5||
ਮਨ ਮੰਧੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਵਗਾਹੀਆ ॥
Man Mandhhae Prabh Avagaaheeaa ||
मन मंधे प्रभु अवगाहीआ ॥
Within my mind, I meditate on God.
ਏਹਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਣ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹੀਆ ॥
Eaehi Ras Bhogan Paathisaaheeaa ||
एहि रस भोगण पातिसाहीआ ॥
For me, this is like the enjoyment of princely pleasures.
ਮੰਦਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਤਰੇ ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਗਿ ਜੀਉ ॥੬॥
Mandhaa Mool N Oupajiou Tharae Sachee Kaarai Laag Jeeo ||6||
मंदा मूलि न उपजिओ तरे सची कारै लागि जीउ ॥६॥
Evil does not well up within me, since I am saved, and dedicated to truthful actions. ||6||
ਕਰਤਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
Karathaa Mann Vasaaeiaa ||
करता मंनि वसाइआ ॥
I have enshrined the Creator within my mind;
ਜਨਮੈ ਕਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Janamai Kaa Fal Paaeiaa ||
जनमै का फलु पाइआ ॥
I have obtained the fruits of life's rewards.
ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੰਦਾ ਕੰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਥਿਰੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੭॥
Man Bhaavandhaa Kanth Har Thaeraa Thhir Hoaa Sohaag Jeeo ||7||
मनि भावंदा कंतु हरि तेरा थिरु होआ सोहागु जीउ ॥७॥
If your Husband Lord is pleasing to your mind, then your married life shall be eternal. ||7||
ਅਟਲ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
Attal Padhaarathh Paaeiaa ||
अटल पदारथु पाइआ ॥
I have obtained everlasting wealth;
ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇਆ ॥
Bhai Bhanjan Kee Saranaaeiaa ||
भै भंजन की सरणाइआ ॥
I have found the Sanctuary of the Dispeller of fear.
ਲਾਇ ਅੰਚਲਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਾਰਿਅਨੁ ਜਿਤਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਉ ॥੮॥੪॥੩੮॥
Laae Anchal Naanak Thaarian Jithaa Janam Apaar Jeeo ||8||4||38||
लाइ अंचलि नानक तारिअनु जिता जनमु अपार जीउ ॥८॥४॥३८॥
Grasping hold of the hem of the Lord's robe, Nanak is saved. He has won the incomparable life. ||8||4||38||

सिमरि सिमरि गुरदेउ मिटि गए भै दूरे ॥१॥
Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Divine Guru, one's fears are erased and dispelled. ||1||
ਸਰਨਿ ਆਵੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਝੂਰੇ ॥੨॥

सरनि आवै पारब्रहम की ता फिरि काहे झूरे ॥२॥
