ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਾਖੁ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
Gur Kaa Sabadh Raakh Man Maahi ||
गुर का सबदु राखु मन माहि ॥
Coming and going ceases, and all comforts are obtained. ||1||
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਸਭ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
Naam Simar Chinthaa Sabh Jaahi ||1||
नामु सिमरि चिंता सभ जाहि ॥१॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all anxiety is removed. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
Bin Bhagavanth Naahee An Koe ||
बिनु भगवंत नाही अन कोइ ॥
Without the Lord God, there is no one else at all.
ਮਾਰੈ ਰਾਖੈ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Maarai Raakhai Eaeko Soe ||1|| Rehaao ||
मारै राखै एको सोइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
He alone preserves and destroys. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Gur Kae Charan Ridhai Our Dhhaar ||
गुर के चरण रिदै उरि धारि ॥
The Guru has carried me across the ocean of fire. ||2||
ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜਪਿ ਉਤਰਹਿ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
Agan Saagar Jap Outharehi Paar ||2||
अगनि सागरु जपि उतरहि पारि ॥२॥
Meditate on Him and cross over the ocean of fire. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨੁ ॥
Gur Moorath Sio Laae Dhhiaan ||
गुर मूरति सिउ लाइ धिआनु ॥
I was cut off from the Lord for countless incarnations, and now the Guru united me with Him again. ||3||
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
Eehaa Oohaa Paavehi Maan ||3||
ईहा ऊहा पावहि मानु ॥३॥
Here and hereafter, you shall be honored. ||3||
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
Sagal Thiaag Gur Saranee Aaeiaa ||
सगल तिआगि गुर सरणी आइआ ॥
Meeting Him, I have been saved. ||4||56||125||

जिसु सिमरत दूखु सभु जाइ ॥
Remembering Him in meditation, all pains are gone.
ਨਾਮੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੧॥
Naam Rathan Vasai Man Aae ||1||
नामु रतनु वसै मनि आइ ॥१॥
The jewel of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, comes to dwell in the mind. ||1||
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
Jap Man Maerae Govindh Kee Baanee ||
जपि मन मेरे गोविंद की बाणी ॥
O my mind, chant the Bani, the Hymns of the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਾਧੂ ਜਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਸਨ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Saadhhoo Jan Raam Rasan Vakhaanee ||1|| Rehaao ||
साधू जन रामु रसन वखाणी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Renounce your arrogant pride, and end the cycle of birth and death.
ਇਕਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਇ ॥
Eikas Bin Naahee Dhoojaa Koe ||
इकसु बिनु नाही दूजा कोइ ॥
Without the One Lord, there is no other at all.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
Jaa Kee Dhrisatt Sadhaa Sukh Hoe ||2||
जा की द्रिसटि सदा सुखु होइ ॥२॥
By His Glance of Grace, eternal peace is obtained. ||2||
ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਸਖਾ ਕਰਿ ਏਕੁ ॥
Saajan Meeth Sakhaa Kar Eaek ||
साजनु मीतु सखा करि एकु ॥
Make the One Lord your friend, intimate and companion.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਖਰ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਲੇਖੁ ॥੩॥
Har Har Akhar Man Mehi Laekh ||3||
हरि हरि अखर मन महि लेखु ॥३॥
Write in your mind the Word of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਰਬਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Rav Rehiaa Sarabath Suaamee ||
रवि रहिआ सरबत सुआमी ॥
The Lord Master is totally pervading everywhere.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੬੨॥੧੩੧॥

भै महि रचिओ सभु संसारा ॥
The whole world is engrossed in fear.
ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
This Bho Naahee Jis Naam Adhhaaraa ||1||
तिसु भउ नाही जिसु नामु अधारा ॥१॥
Those who have the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as their Support, feel no fear. ||1||
ਭਉ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾ ॥
Bho N Viaapai Thaeree Saranaa ||
भउ न विआपै तेरी सरणा ॥
Fear does not affect those who take to Your Sanctuary.
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਕਰਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Jo Thudhh Bhaavai Soee Karanaa ||1|| Rehaao ||
जो तुधु भावै सोई करणा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
You do whatever You please. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋਗ ਹਰਖ ਮਹਿ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ॥
Sog Harakh Mehi Aavan Jaanaa ||
सोग हरख महि आवण जाणा ॥
In pleasure and in pain, the world is coming and going in reincarnation.
ਤਿਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਣਾ ॥੨॥
Thin Sukh Paaeiaa Jo Prabh Bhaanaa ||2||
तिनि सुखु पाइआ जो प्रभ भाणा ॥२॥
Those who are pleasing to God, find peace. ||2||
ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
Agan Saagar Mehaa Viaapai Maaeiaa ||
अगनि सागरु महा विआपै माइआ ॥
Maya pervades the awesome ocean of fire.
ਸੇ ਸੀਤਲ ਜਿਨ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
Sae Seethal Jin Sathigur Paaeiaa ||3||
से सीतल जिन सतिगुरु पाइआ ॥३॥
Those who have found the True Guru are calm and cool. ||3||
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰਾ ॥
Raakh Laee Prabh Raakhanehaaraa ||
राखि लेइ प्रभु राखनहारा ॥
Please preserve me, O God, O Great Preserver!
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਆ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੬੩॥੧੩੨॥

By Your Grace, I chant Your Name.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਦਰਗਹ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥
Thumaree Kirapaa Thae Dharageh Thhaao ||1||
तुमरी क्रिपा ते दरगह थाउ ॥१॥
By Your Grace, I obtain a seat in Your Court. ||1||
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
Thujh Bin Paarabreham Nehee Koe ||
तुझ बिनु पारब्रहम नही कोइ ॥
Without You, O Supreme Lord God, there is no one.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Thum Man Vasae Tho Dhookh N Laagai ||
तुम मनि वसे तउ दूखु न लागै ॥
If You abide in the mind, we do not suffer in sorrow.
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੨॥
Thumaree Kirapaa Thae Bhram Bho Bhaagai ||2||
तुमरी क्रिपा ते भ्रमु भउ भागै ॥२॥
By Your Grace, doubt and fear run away. ||2||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Paarabreham Aparanpar Suaamee ||
पारब्रहम अपर्मपर सुआमी ॥
O Supreme Lord God, Infinite Lord and Master,
ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੩॥
Sagal Ghattaa Kae Antharajaamee ||3||
सगल घटा के अंतरजामी ॥३॥
You are the Inner-knower, the Searcher of all hearts. ||3||
ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਅਪਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
Karo Aradhaas Apanae Sathigur Paas ||
करउ अरदासि अपने सतिगुर पासि ॥
I offer this prayer to the True Guru:
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੬੪॥੧੩੩॥

नानक नामु मिलै सचु रासि ॥४॥६४॥१३३॥
O Nanak, may I be blessed with the treasure of the True Name. ||4||64||133||

कण बिना जैसे थोथर तुखा ॥
As the husk is empty without the grain,
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਸੂਨੇ ਸੇ ਮੁਖਾ ॥੧॥
Naam Bihoon Soonae Sae Mukhaa ||1||
नाम बिहून सूने से मुखा ॥१॥
So is the mouth empty without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
Har Har Naam Japahu Nith Praanee ||
हरि हरि नामु जपहु नित प्राणी ॥
O mortal, chant continually the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਦੇਹ ਬਿਗਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Naam Bihoon Dhhrig Dhaeh Bigaanee ||1|| Rehaao ||
नाम बिहून ध्रिगु देह बिगानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Without the Naam, cursed is the body, which shall be taken back by Death. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਾਹੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਗੁ ॥
Naam Binaa Naahee Mukh Bhaag ||
नाम बिना नाही मुखि भागु ॥
When my tongue chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Haree. ||2||
ਭਰਤ ਬਿਹੂਨ ਕਹਾ ਸੋਹਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
Bharath Bihoon Kehaa Sohaag ||2||
भरत बिहून कहा सोहागु ॥२॥
Without the Husband, where is the marriage? ||2||
ਨਾਮੁ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਲਗੈ ਅਨ ਸੁਆਇ ॥
Naam Bisaar Lagai An Suaae ||
नामु बिसारि लगै अन सुआइ ॥
Forgetting the Naam, and attached to other tastes,
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਆਸ ਨ ਪੂਜੈ ਕਾਇ ॥੩॥
Thaa Kee Aas N Poojai Kaae ||3||
ता की आस न पूजै काइ ॥३॥
No desires are fulfilled. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Prabh Apanee Dhaath ||
करि किरपा प्रभ अपनी दाति ॥
O God, grant Your Grace, and give me this gift.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੪॥੬੫॥੧੩੪॥

नानक नामु जपै दिन राति ॥४॥६५॥१३४॥
