Oukath Siaanap Sagalee Thiaag ||
उकति सिआणप सगली तिआगु ॥
Give up all your clever tricks and devices,
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੨॥
Santh Janaa Kee Charanee Laag ||2||
संत जना की चरणी लागु ॥२॥
And hold tight to the Feet of the Saints. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਜੀਅ ਹਹਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
Sarab Jeea Hehi Jaa Kai Haathh ||
सरब जीअ हहि जा कै हाथि ॥
The One, who holds all creatures in His Hands,
ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵਿਛੁੜੈ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ॥
Kadhae N Vishhurrai Sabh Kai Saathh ||
कदे न विछुड़ै सभ कै साथि ॥
Is never separated from them; He is with them all.
ਉਪਾਵ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਹੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਓਟ ॥
Oupaav Shhodd Gahu This Kee Outt ||
उपाव छोडि गहु तिस की ओट ॥
Abandon your clever devices, and grasp hold of His Support.
ਨਿਮਖ ਮਾਹਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤੇਰੀ ਛੋਟਿ ॥੩॥
Nimakh Maahi Hovai Thaeree Shhott ||3||
निमख माहि होवै तेरी छोटि ॥३॥
In an instant, you shall be saved. ||3||
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
Sadhaa Nikatt Kar This No Jaan ||
सदा निकटि करि तिस नो जाणु ॥
Know that He is always near at hand.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Prabh Kee Aagiaa Sath Kar Maan ||
प्रभ की आगिआ सति करि मानु ॥
Accept the Order of God as True.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਮਿਟਾਵਹੁ ਆਪੁ ॥
Gur Kai Bachan Mittaavahu Aap ||
गुर कै बचनि मिटावहु आपु ॥
Servant Nanak has abolished his ego, and he is absorbed in the Lord. ||4||

Gur Kaa Bachan Sadhaa Abinaasee ||
गुर का बचनु सदा अबिनासी ॥
The Guru's Word is eternal and everlasting.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੀ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ॥
Gur Kai Bachan Kattee Jam Faasee ||
गुर कै बचनि कटी जम फासी ॥
Why do you doubt? What do you doubt?
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
Gur Kaa Bachan Jeea Kai Sang ||
गुर का बचनु जीअ कै संगि ॥
God is pervading the water, the land and the sky.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਚੈ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥
Gur Kai Bachan Rachai Raam Kai Rang ||1||
गुर कै बचनि रचै राम कै रंगि ॥१॥
The Gurmukhs are saved, while the self-willed manmukhs lose their honor. ||1||
ਜੋ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਸੁ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਕਾਮਿ ॥
Jo Gur Dheeaa S Man Kai Kaam ||
जो गुरि दीआ सु मन कै कामि ॥
Whatever the Guru gives, is useful to the mind.
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

गुर का बचनु अटल अछेद ॥
The Infinite One is pervading among all.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਕਟੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੇਦ ॥
Gur Kai Bachan Kattae Bhram Bhaedh ||
गुर कै बचनि कटे भ्रम भेद ॥
Through the Guru's Word, doubt and prejudice are dispelled.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਕਤਹੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
Gur Kaa Bachan Kathahu N Jaae ||
गुर का बचनु कतहु न जाइ ॥
He knows everything which happens. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੨॥
Gur Kai Bachan Har Kae Gun Gaae ||2||
गुर कै बचनि हरि के गुण गाइ ॥२॥
The self-willed manmukhs are dying in the thirst of duality.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਜੀਅ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ॥
Gur Kaa Bachan Jeea Kai Saathh ||
गुर का बचनु जीअ कै साथ ॥
They wander lost through countless incarnations; this is their pre-ordained destiny.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥
Gur Kaa Bachan Anaathh Ko Naathh ||
गुर का बचनु अनाथ को नाथ ॥
As they plant, so shall they harvest. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨਰਕਿ ਨ ਪਵੈ ॥
Gur Kai Bachan Narak N Pavai ||
गुर कै बचनि नरकि न पवै ॥
The Guru's Word saves one from falling into hell.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਰਵੈ ॥੩॥
Gur Kai Bachan Rasanaa Anmrith Ravai ||3||
गुर कै बचनि रसना अम्रितु रवै ॥३॥
And now everywhere I look, God is revealed to me.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਬਚਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥

गुर का बचनु परगटु संसारि ॥
The Guru's Word is revealed in the world.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਬਚਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਹਾਰਿ ॥
Gur Kai Bachan N Aavai Haar ||
गुर कै बचनि न आवै हारि ॥
Through the Guru's Word, no one suffers defeat.
ਜਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਹੋਏ ਆਪਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
Jis Jan Hoeae Aap Kirapaal ||
जिसु जन होए आपि क्रिपाल ॥
O Nanak, the True Guru is always kind and compassionate,
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੪॥੫॥੭੪॥

नानक सतिगुर सदा दइआल ॥४॥५॥७४॥
Unto those whom the Lord Himself has blessed with His Mercy. ||4||5||74||

जिनि कीता माटी ते रतनु ॥
He makes jewels out of the dust,
ਗਰਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਜਤਨੁ ॥
Garabh Mehi Raakhiaa Jin Kar Jathan ||
गरभ महि राखिआ जिनि करि जतनु ॥
And He managed to preserve you in the womb.
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਨੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Jin Dheenee Sobhaa Vaddiaaee ||
जिनि दीनी सोभा वडिआई ॥
He has given you fame and greatness;
ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਧਿਆਈ ॥੧॥
This Prabh Ko Aath Pehar Dhhiaaee ||1||
तिसु प्रभ कउ आठ पहर धिआई ॥१॥
Meditate on that God, twenty-four hours a day. ||1||
ਰਮਈਆ ਰੇਨੁ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
Rameeaa Raen Saadhh Jan Paavo ||
रमईआ रेनु साध जन पावउ ॥
O Lord, I seek the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

गुर मिलि अपुना खसमु धिआवउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Meeting the Guru, I meditate on my Lord and Master. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਮੂੜ ਤੇ ਬਕਤਾ ॥
Jin Keethaa Moorr Thae Bakathaa ||
जिनि कीता मूड़ ते बकता ॥
He transformed me, the fool, into a fine speaker,
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਬੇਸੁਰਤ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤਾ ॥
Jin Keethaa Baesurath Thae Surathaa ||
जिनि कीता बेसुरत ते सुरता ॥
And He made the unconscious become conscious;
ਜਿਸੁ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਵੈ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
Jis Parasaadh Navai Nidhh Paaee ||
जिसु परसादि नवै निधि पाई ॥
By His Grace, I have obtained the nine treasures.
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
So Prabh Man Thae Bisarath Naahee ||2||
सो प्रभु मन ते बिसरत नाही ॥२॥
May I never forget that God from my mind. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
Jin Dheeaa Nithhaavae Ko Thhaan ||
जिनि दीआ निथावे कउ थानु ॥
He has given a home to the homeless;
ਜਿਨਿ ਦੀਆ ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
Jin Dheeaa Nimaanae Ko Maan ||
जिनि दीआ निमाने कउ मानु ॥
He has given honor to the dishonored.
ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਸਭ ਪੂਰਨ ਆਸਾ ॥
Jin Keenee Sabh Pooran Aasaa ||
जिनि कीनी सभ पूरन आसा ॥
He has fulfilled all desires;
ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
Simaro Dhin Rain Saas Giraasaa ||3||
सिमरउ दिनु रैनि सास गिरासा ॥३॥
Remember Him in meditation, day and night, with every breath and every morsel of food. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਿਲਕ ਕਾਟੀ ॥
Jis Prasaadh Maaeiaa Silak Kaattee ||
जिसु प्रसादि माइआ सिलक काटी ॥
By His Grace, the bonds of Maya are cut away.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਟੀ ॥
Gur Prasaadh Anmrith Bikh Khaattee ||
गुर प्रसादि अम्रितु बिखु खाटी ॥
Says Nanak, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||4||3||72||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
Kahu Naanak Eis Thae Kishh Naahee ||
कहु नानक इस ते किछु नाही ॥
Says Nanak, I cannot do anything;
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਕਉ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥੪॥੬॥੭੫॥
Raakhanehaarae Ko Saalaahee ||4||6||75||
राखनहारे कउ सालाही ॥४॥६॥७५॥
I praise the Lord, the Protector. ||4||6||75||

In His Sanctuary, there is no fear or sorrow.
ਉਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
Ous Thae Baahar Kashhoo N Hog ||
उस ते बाहरि कछू न होगु ॥
Without Him, nothing at all can be done.
ਤਜੀ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਬਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥
Thajee Siaanap Bal Budhh Bikaar ||
तजी सिआणप बल बुधि बिकार ॥
I have renounced clever tricks, power and intellectual corruption.
ਦਾਸ ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ॥੧॥
Dhaas Apanae Kee Raakhanehaar ||1||
दास अपने की राखनहार ॥१॥
God is the Protector of His servant. ||1||
ਜਪਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
Jap Man Maerae Raam Raam Rang ||
जपि मन मेरे राम राम रंगि ॥
Meditate, O my mind, on the Lord, Raam, Raam, with love.
ਘਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਦ ਸੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ghar Baahar Thaerai Sadh Sang ||1|| Rehaao ||
घरि बाहरि तेरै सद संगि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Within your home, and beyond it, He is always with you. ||1||Pause||
ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਮਨੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥

तिस की टेक मनै महि राखु ॥
