ਹਸਤੀ ਘੋੜੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਵਿਗਾਸਾ ॥
Hasathee Ghorrae Dhaekh Vigaasaa ||
हसती घोड़े देखि विगासा ॥
He is pleased at the sight of his elephants and horses
ਲਸਕਰ ਜੋੜੇ ਨੇਬ ਖਵਾਸਾ ॥
Lasakar Jorrae Naeb Khavaasaa ||
लसकर जोड़े नेब खवासा ॥
And his armies assembled, his servants and his soldiers.
ਗਲਿ ਜੇਵੜੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਕੇ ਫਾਸਾ ॥੨॥
Gal Jaevarree Houmai Kae Faasaa ||2||
गलि जेवड़ी हउमै के फासा ॥२॥
But the noose of egotism is tightening around his neck. ||2||
ਰਾਜੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
Raaj Kamaavai Dheh Dhis Saaree ||
राजु कमावै दह दिस सारी ॥
His rule may extend in all ten directions;
ਮਾਣੈ ਰੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਬਹੁ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
Maanai Rang Bhog Bahu Naaree ||
माणै रंग भोग बहु नारी ॥
He may revel in pleasures, and enjoy many women
ਜਿਉ ਨਰਪਤਿ ਸੁਪਨੈ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
Jio Narapath Supanai Bhaekhaaree ||3||
जिउ नरपति सुपनै भेखारी ॥३॥
- but he is just a beggar, who in his dream, is a king. ||3||
ਏਕੁ ਕੁਸਲੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਬਤਾਇਆ ॥
Eaek Kusal Mo Ko Sathiguroo Bathaaeiaa ||
एकु कुसलु मो कउ सतिगुरू बताइआ ॥
The True Guru has shown me that there is only one pleasure.
ਹਰਿ ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਆ ਭਗਤਾ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
Har Jo Kishh Karae S Har Kiaa Bhagathaa Bhaaeiaa ||
हरि जो किछु करे सु हरि किआ भगता भाइआ ॥
Whatever the Lord does, is pleasing to the Lord's devotee.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥

जन नानक हउमै मारि समाइआ ॥४॥
Servant Nanak has abolished his ego, and he is absorbed in the Lord. ||4||

इनि बिधि कुसल होत मेरे भाई ॥
This is the way to find happiness, O my Siblings of Destiny.

Why do you doubt? What do you doubt?
ਜਾ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
Jaa Jal Thhal Meheeal Raviaa Soee ||
जा जलि थलि महीअलि रविआ सोई ॥
God is pervading the water, the land and the sky.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੧॥
Guramukh Oubarae Manamukh Path Khoee ||1||
गुरमुखि उबरे मनमुख पति खोई ॥१॥
The Gurmukhs are saved, while the self-willed manmukhs lose their honor. ||1||
ਜਿਸੁ ਰਾਖੈ ਆਪਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਦਇਆਰਾ ॥
Jis Raakhai Aap Raam Dhaeiaaraa ||
जिसु राखै आपि रामु दइआरा ॥
One who is protected by the Merciful Lord
ਤਿਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਪਹੁਚਨਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
This Nehee Dhoojaa Ko Pahuchanehaaraa ||1|| Rehaao ||
तिसु नही दूजा को पहुचनहारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥

ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਕੁ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥
Sabh Mehi Varathai Eaek Ananthaa ||
सभ महि वरतै एकु अनंता ॥
The Infinite One is pervading among all.
ਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਖਿ ਸੋਉ ਹੋਇ ਅਚਿੰਤਾ ॥
Thaa Thoon Sukh Soo Hoe Achinthaa ||
ता तूं सुखि सोउ होइ अचिंता ॥
So sleep in peace, and don't worry.
ਓਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੋ ਵਰਤੰਤਾ ॥੨॥
Ouhu Sabh Kishh Jaanai Jo Varathanthaa ||2||
ओहु सभु किछु जाणै जो वरतंता ॥२॥
He knows everything which happens. ||2||
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਏ ਜਿਨ ਦੂਜੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥
Manamukh Mueae Jin Dhoojee Piaasaa ||
मनमुख मुए जिन दूजी पिआसा ॥
The self-willed manmukhs are dying in the thirst of duality.
ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਵਹਿ ਧੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਤਿ ਲਿਖਿਆਸਾ ॥
Bahu Jonee Bhavehi Dhhur Kirath Likhiaasaa ||
बहु जोनी भवहि धुरि किरति लिखिआसा ॥
They wander lost through countless incarnations; this is their pre-ordained destiny.
ਜੈਸਾ ਬੀਜਹਿ ਤੈਸਾ ਖਾਸਾ ॥੩॥
Jaisaa Beejehi Thaisaa Khaasaa ||3||
जैसा बीजहि तैसा खासा ॥३॥
As they plant, so shall they harvest. ||3||
ਦੇਖਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਵਿਗਾਸਾ ॥
Dhaekh Dharas Man Bhaeiaa Vigaasaa ||
देखि दरसु मनि भइआ विगासा ॥
Beholding the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, my mind has blossomed forth.
ਸਭੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਆਇਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
Sabh Nadharee Aaeiaa Breham Paragaasaa ||
सभु नदरी आइआ ब्रहमु परगासा ॥
And now everywhere I look, God is revealed to me.

कई जनम गरभ हिरि खरिआ ॥
In so many incarnations, you were aborted in the womb;
ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ਸਾਖ ਕਰਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥

कई जनम साख करि उपाइआ ॥
In so many incarnations, you developed branches and leaves;

Saadhhasang Bhaeiou Janam Paraapath ||
साधसंगि भइओ जनमु परापति ॥
Through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you obtained this human life.
ਕਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ॥
Kar Saevaa Bhaj Har Har Guramath ||
करि सेवा भजु हरि हरि गुरमति ॥
Do seva - selfless service; follow the Guru's Teachings, and vibrate the Lord's Name, Har, Har.
ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
Thiaag Maan Jhooth Abhimaan ||
तिआगि मानु झूठु अभिमानु ॥
Abandon pride, falsehood and arrogance.
ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਹਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
Jeevath Marehi Dharageh Paravaan ||3||
जीवत मरहि दरगह परवानु ॥३॥
Remain dead while yet alive, and you shall be welcomed in the Court of the Lord. ||3||
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਆ ਸੁ ਤੁਝ ਤੇ ਹੋਗੁ ॥
Jo Kishh Hoaa S Thujh Thae Hog ||
जो किछु होआ सु तुझ ते होगु ॥
Whatever has been, and whatever shall be, comes from You, Lord.
ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕਰਣੈ ਜੋਗੁ ॥
Avar N Dhoojaa Karanai Jog ||
अवरु न दूजा करणै जोगु ॥
No one else can do anything at all.
ਤਾ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਜਾ ਲੈਹਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
Thaa Mileeai Jaa Laihi Milaae ||
ता मिलीऐ जा लैहि मिलाइ ॥
We are united with You, when You unite us with Yourself.

Pooran Hoe Thumaaraa Kaam ||
पूरन होइ तुमारा कामु ॥
Your works shall be brought to fruition.
ਫਲ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਿਟੈ ਜਮ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ॥
Fal Paavehi Mittai Jam Thraas ||
फल पावहि मिटै जम त्रास ॥
You shall obtain these fruits, and the fear of death shall be dispelled.

नित गावहि हरि हरि गुण जास ॥१॥
Sing continually the Glorious Praises of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥
Har Har Naam Anthar Our Dhhaar ||
हरि हरि नामु अंतरि उरि धारि ॥
Keep the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, enshrined in your heart,
ਸੀਘਰ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Seeghar Kaaraj Laehu Savaar ||1|| Rehaao ||
सीघर कारजु लेहु सवारि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
And your affairs shall be quickly resolved. ||1||Pause||
ਅਪਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਉ ਹੋਹੁ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੁ ॥
Apanae Prabh Sio Hohu Saavadhhaan ||
अपने प्रभ सिउ होहु सावधानु ॥
Be always attentive to your God;
ਤਾ ਤੂੰ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਮਾਨੁ ॥

ता तूं दरगह पावहि मानु ॥
