संत प्रसादि जनम मरण ते छोट ॥१॥
By the Grace of the Saints, one is released from birth and death. ||1||
ਸੰਤ ਕਾ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥

संत का दरसु पूरन इसनानु ॥
The Blessed Vision of the Saints is the perfect cleansing bath.
ਸੰਤ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Santh Kirapaa Thae Japeeai Naam ||1|| Rehaao ||
संत क्रिपा ते जपीऐ नामु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
By the Grace of the Saints, one comes to chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ॥
Santh Kai Sang Mittiaa Ahankaar ||
संत कै संगि मिटिआ अहंकारु ॥
In the Society of the Saints, egotism is shed,
ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਆਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
Dhrisatt Aavai Sabh Eaekankaar ||2||
द्रिसटि आवै सभु एकंकारु ॥२॥
And the One Lord is seen everywhere. ||2||
ਸੰਤ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਆਏ ਵਸਿ ਪੰਚਾ ॥
Santh Suprasann Aaeae Vas Panchaa ||
संत सुप्रसंन आए वसि पंचा ॥
By the pleasure of the Saints, the five passions are overpowered,
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਲੈ ਸੰਚਾ ॥੩॥
Anmrith Naam Ridhai Lai Sanchaa ||3||
अम्रितु नामु रिदै लै संचा ॥३॥
And the heart is irrigated with the Ambrosial Naam. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਮ ॥
Kahu Naanak Jaa Kaa Pooraa Karam ||
कहु नानक जा का पूरा करम ॥
Says Nanak, one whose karma is perfect,
ਤਿਸੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ॥੪॥੪੬॥੧੧੫॥

हरि गुण जपत कमलु परगासै ॥
Meditating on the Glories of the Lord, the heart-lotus blossoms radiantly.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਸਭ ਨਾਸੈ ॥੧॥
Har Simarath Thraas Sabh Naasai ||1||
हरि सिमरत त्रास सभ नासै ॥१॥
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all fears are dispelled. ||1||
ਸਾ ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
Saa Math Pooree Jith Har Gun Gaavai ||
सा मति पूरी जितु हरि गुण गावै ॥
Perfect is that intellect, by which the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung.
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Vaddai Bhaag Saadhhoo Sang Paavai ||1|| Rehaao ||
वडै भागि साधू संगु पावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
By great good fortune, one finds the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||Pause||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
Saadhhasang Paaeeai Nidhh Naamaa ||
साधसंगि पाईऐ निधि नामा ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the treasure of the Name is obtained.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਮਾ ॥੨॥
Saadhhasang Pooran Sabh Kaamaa ||2||
साधसंगि पूरन सभि कामा ॥२॥
Eating, drinking, playing, laughing and showing off
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
Har Kee Bhagath Janam Paravaan ||
हरि की भगति जनमु परवाणु ॥
- what use are the ostentatious displays of the dead? ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
Gur Kirapaa Thae Naam Vakhaan ||3||
गुर किरपा ते नामु वखाणु ॥३॥
Those who do not listen to the Praises of the Lord of supreme bliss,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
Kahu Naanak So Jan Paravaan ||
कहु नानक सो जनु परवानु ॥
Says Nanak, that humble being is accepted,
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ਭਗਵਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੪੭॥੧੧੬॥

जा कै रिदै वसै भगवानु ॥४॥४७॥११६॥
Within whose heart the Lord God abides. ||4||47||116||

ਏਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥

एकसु सिउ जा का मनु राता ॥
Those whose minds are imbued with the One Lord,
ਵਿਸਰੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਪਰਾਈ ਤਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
Visaree Thisai Paraaee Thaathaa ||1||
विसरी तिसै पराई ताता ॥१॥
Forget to feel jealous of others. ||1||
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
Bin Gobindh N Dheesai Koee ||
बिनु गोबिंद न दीसै कोई ॥
They see none other than the Lord of the Universe.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Karan Karaavan Karathaa Soee ||1|| Rehaao ||
करन करावन करता सोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Creator is the Doer, the Cause of causes. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨਹਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੈ ॥
Manehi Kamaavai Mukh Har Har Bolai ||
मनहि कमावै मुखि हरि हरि बोलै ॥
Those who work willingly, and chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਇਤ ਉਤ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਡੋਲੈ ॥੨॥
So Jan Eith Outh Kathehi N Ddolai ||2||
सो जनु इत उत कतहि न डोलै ॥२॥
- they do not waver, here or hereafter. ||2||
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸੋ ਸਚ ਸਾਹੁ ॥
Jaa Kai Har Dhhan So Sach Saahu ||
जा कै हरि धनु सो सच साहु ॥
Those who possess the wealth of the Lord are the true bankers.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਵਿਸਾਹੁ ॥੩॥
Gur Poorai Kar Dheeno Visaahu ||3||
गुरि पूरै करि दीनो विसाहु ॥३॥
The Perfect Guru has established their line of credit. ||3||
ਜੀਵਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥
Jeevan Purakh Miliaa Har Raaeiaa ||
जीवन पुरखु मिलिआ हरि राइआ ॥
The Giver of life, the Sovereign Lord King meets them.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੪੮॥੧੧੭॥

कहु नानक परम पदु पाइआ ॥४॥४८॥११७॥
Says Nanak, they attain the supreme status. ||4||48||117||

नामु भगत कै प्रान अधारु ॥
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the Support of the breath of life of His devotees.
ਨਾਮੋ ਧਨੁ ਨਾਮੋ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
Naamo Dhhan Naamo Biouhaar ||1||
नामो धनु नामो बिउहारु ॥१॥
The Naam is their wealth, the Naam is their occupation. ||1||
ਨਾਮ ਵਡਾਈ ਜਨੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਏ ॥
Naam Vaddaaee Jan Sobhaa Paaeae ||
नाम वडाई जनु सोभा पाए ॥
By the greatness of the Naam, His humble servants are blessed with glory.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kar Kirapaa Jis Aap Dhivaaeae ||1|| Rehaao ||
करि किरपा जिसु आपि दिवाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
The Lord Himself bestows it, in His Mercy. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮੁ ਭਗਤ ਕੈ ਸੁਖ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ॥
Naam Bhagath Kai Sukh Asathhaan ||
नामु भगत कै सुख असथानु ॥
The Naam is the home of peace of His devotees.
ਨਾਮ ਰਤੁ ਸੋ ਭਗਤੁ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੨॥
Naam Rath So Bhagath Paravaan ||2||
नाम रतु सो भगतु परवानु ॥२॥
Attuned to the Naam, His devotees are approved. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
Har Kaa Naam Jan Ko Dhhaarai ||
हरि का नामु जन कउ धारै ॥
The Name of the Lord is the support of His humble servants.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਰੈ ॥੩॥
Saas Saas Jan Naam Samaarai ||3||
सासि सासि जनु नामु समारै ॥३॥
With each and every breath, they remember the Naam. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਾਗੁ ॥

कहु नानक जिसु पूरा भागु ॥
Says Nanak, those who have perfect destiny

नाम संगि ता का मनु लागु ॥४॥४९॥११८॥

By the Grace of the Saints, I meditated on the Name of the Lord.
ਤਬ ਤੇ ਧਾਵਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Thab Thae Dhhaavath Man Thripathaaeiaa ||1||
तब ते धावतु मनु त्रिपताइआ ॥१॥
Since then, my restless mind has been satisfied. ||1||
ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥
Sukh Bisraam Paaeiaa Gun Gaae ||
सुख बिस्रामु पाइआ गुण गाइ ॥
I have obtained the home of peace, singing His Glorious Praises.
ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਤੀ ਬਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

स्रमु मिटिआ मेरी हती बलाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
My troubles have ended, and the demon has been destroyed. ||1||Pause||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧਿ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥
Charan Kamal Araadhh Bhagavanthaa ||
चरन कमल अराधि भगवंता ॥
Worship and adore the Lotus Feet of the Lord God.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੇ ਮਿਟੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ॥੨॥
Har Simaran Thae Mittee Maeree Chinthaa ||2||
हरि सिमरन ते मिटी मेरी चिंता ॥२॥
Meditating in remembrance on the Lord, my anxiety has come to an end. ||2||
ਸਭ ਤਜਿ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਏਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਆਇਓ ॥
Sabh Thaj Anaathh Eaek Saran Aaeiou ||
सभ तजि अनाथु एक सरणि आइओ ॥
I have renounced all - I am an orphan. I have come to the Sanctuary of the One Lord.
ਊਚ ਅਸਥਾਨੁ ਤਬ ਸਹਜੇ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੩॥
Ooch Asathhaan Thab Sehajae Paaeiou ||3||
ऊच असथानु तब सहजे पाइओ ॥३॥
Since then, I have found the highest celestial home. ||3||
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਨਸਿਆ ॥
Dhookh Dharadh Bharam Bho Nasiaa ||
दूखु दरदु भरमु भउ नसिआ ॥
My pains, troubles, doubts and fears are gone.
ਕਰਣਹਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਿਆ ॥੪॥੫੦॥੧੧੯॥
Karanehaar Naanak Man Basiaa ||4||50||119||
करणहारु नानक मनि बसिआ ॥४॥५०॥११९॥
The Creator Lord abides in Nanak's mind. ||4||50||119||
