रूपवंतु सो चतुरु सिआणा ॥
They alone are handsome, clever and wise,
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ॥੨॥

जिनि जनि मानिआ प्रभ का भाणा ॥२॥
Who surrender to the Will of God. ||2||
ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
Jag Mehi Aaeiaa So Paravaan ||
जग महि आइआ सो परवाणु ॥
Blessed is their coming into this world,
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਅਪਣਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੩॥
Ghatt Ghatt Apanaa Suaamee Jaan ||3||
घटि घटि अपणा सुआमी जाणु ॥३॥
If they recognize their Lord and Master in each and every heart. ||3||

हरि के दास सिउ साकत नही संगु ॥
The Lord's servant does not associate with the faithless cynic.
ਓਹੁ ਬਿਖਈ ਓਸੁ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Ouhu Bikhee Ous Raam Ko Rang ||1|| Rehaao ||
ओहु बिखई ओसु राम को रंगु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
One is in the clutches of vice, while the other is in love with the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਅਸਵਾਰ ਜੈਸੇ ਤੁਰੀ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ॥
Man Asavaar Jaisae Thuree Seegaaree ||
मन असवार जैसे तुरी सीगारी ॥
It would be like an imaginary rider on a decorated horse,
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੁਚਾਰੈ ਨਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
Jio Kaapurakh Puchaarai Naaree ||1||
जिउ कापुरखु पुचारै नारी ॥१॥
Or a eunuch caressing a woman. ||1||
ਬੈਲ ਕਉ ਨੇਤ੍ਰਾ ਪਾਇ ਦੁਹਾਵੈ ॥
Bail Ko Naethraa Paae Dhuhaavai ||
बैल कउ नेत्रा पाइ दुहावै ॥
It would be like tying up an ox and trying to milk it,
ਗਊ ਚਰਿ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
Goo Char Singh Paashhai Paavai ||2||
गऊ चरि सिंघ पाछै पावै ॥२॥
Or riding a cow to chase a tiger. ||2||
ਗਾਡਰ ਲੇ ਕਾਮਧੇਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਜੀ ॥
Gaaddar Lae Kaamadhhaen Kar Poojee ||
गाडर ले कामधेनु करि पूजी ॥
It would be like taking a sheep and worshipping it as the Elysian cow,
ਸਉਦੇ ਕਉ ਧਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੂੰਜੀ ॥੩॥
Soudhae Ko Dhhaavai Bin Poonjee ||3||
सउदे कउ धावै बिनु पूंजी ॥३॥
The giver of all blessings; it would be like going out shopping without any money. ||3||

राम रसाइणु पीवत बीर ॥१॥
which drinks in the Lord's sublime essence. ||1||

हरि के चरण हिरदै करि ओट ॥
Keep the Support of the Lord's Feet in your heart,
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਤੇ ਹੋਵਤ ਛੋਟ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

जनम मरण ते होवत छोट ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
And you shall be saved from the cycle of birth and death. ||1||Pause||
ਸੋ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਨ ਪਾਪੁ ॥

सो तनु निरमलु जितु उपजै न पापु ॥
Pure is that body, in which sin does not arise.

In the Love of the Lord is pure glory. ||2||

In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, corruption is eradicated.

तिउ हरि जनु जीवै नामु चितारी ॥१॥
So does the Lord's humble servant live by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਪੂਤ ਪੇਖਿ ਜਿਉ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਾਤਾ ॥

पूत पेखि जिउ जीवत माता ॥
As the mother is rejuvenated upon seeing her son,
ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥

ओति पोति जनु हरि सिउ राता ॥२॥
Honor and intuitive awareness are acquired through the Name of the Lord God.
ਲੋਭੀ ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਧਨਾ ॥

लोभी अनदु करै पेखि धना ॥
As the greedy man rejoices upon beholding his wealth,
ਜਨ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗੋ ਮਨਾ ॥੩॥
Jan Charan Kamal Sio Laago Manaa ||3||
जन चरन कमल सिउ लागो मना ॥३॥
Within your heart, meditate on the His Lotus Feet.
ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਦਾਤਾਰ ॥
Bisar Nehee Eik Thil Dhaathaar ||
बिसरु नही इकु तिलु दातार ॥
May I never forget You, for even an instant, O Great Giver!

All other pleasures look like ashes;

नाम बिना निहफल संसार ॥१॥
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the world is fruitless. ||1||
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਕਾਢੇ ਆਪਿ ॥
Andhh Koop Thae Kaadtae Aap ||
अंध कूप ते काढे आपि ॥
He Himself rescues us from the deep dark well.
ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਅਚਰਜ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥੨॥
Gun Govindh Acharaj Parathaap ||2||
गुण गोविंद अचरज परताप ॥२॥
Wondrous and Glorious are the Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||2||
ਵਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਣਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥

In the woods and meadows, and throughout the three worlds, the Sustainer of the Universe is pervading.

झोलि महा रसु हरि अम्रितु पीजै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
